I'm a little bored of having the most recent journal on my page be a rant all about how I'm not so happy with arts, so this shall replace that.
It is still true that I haven't had much interest to order new art lately; most of what was just posted was stuff ordered a while ago. I do still have two or three pieces on the way, and maybe one or two that I will order if I get the chance. I'm working on developing a bunny character, so hopefully I can get a good ref for him.
Anyway, I'm not dead or anything so just wanted to say so. How is everybody?

A Break from Arts Perhaps: A Little Rant
Posted 11 years agoLately, I haven't really been getting as much out of art as I did in the past. The feelings of stress, anxiety and frustration have been outweighing the happies. I think I'd like to go a while without commissioning anything new.
This isn't directed at anyone whom I've commissioned, I've had mostly good experiences, and even in the ones causing me stress, I understand where the artists are coming from and don't blame them. I just... I'm finding it hard to appreciate how nice some of these pictures are cause small errors stand out to me so much. Some stuff is coming out just not how I expect or hope it will. I'm questioning my choices and sending an obnoxious number of messages to artists. The waiting is worse. I think the longest I've got now is a piece I paid for 8 months ago and have received no update on, still sitting untouched on their queue. I just want to do as little as I can to increase the anxiety that comes with that.
I've still got a long queue of pending stuff, some that I'm hopeful will be completed in a timely manner, and some where I'm less convinced. Either way it should take a good chunk of time to tick down, so there are still some art dumps coming. Plus, I have a short list of about 5 friends who I've been discussing art plans with, and I'm still going to pursue those. I've got a refsheet edit coming from Tsaiwolf, so that should be a good milestone to aim for since his queue takes a few months. When that is done I'll re-evaluate.
Knowing me, I'll fail to stick to this at all and keep jumping on random deals I see, but I had to at least get these feels out.

If I can maintain the determination, I'm going to go through my list and remove some people that I never or rarely talk with, and I've removed my username from this page. Just looking at this bloated contact list full of people I don't know very well is messing with me.

1000 Watcher Art Raffle

I'm closing in on 1000 watchers, which is a pretty cool milestone to me. I can't really comprehend the idea that anywhere near that number of individuals enjoy the ottness. x3 I've got a bit of an art backlog to post sometime soon, and dumps like that usually come with a burst of watchers, so I'll be very close very soon I think.
So let's have a raffle for arts, I'll lay out some rules to hopefully be fair and not overly complex.
-The prize is, of course, a piece of art with the Ket. :3 Fully paid for by me.
-There will be two winners, with equal prizes, so two separate pictures.
-Final choice of content, artist, and level of quality is up to me, but suggestions are welcome.
-Anyone is free to apply, as long as they're watching me. Don't worry if you've been in arts with the ott or if you just started watching, you can still enter!
-If both the winners are people I've been in art with or gotten gift art for in the past, I'll randomly choose one to forfeit their win and choose a new winner. So friends are welcome to enter, it can still end up fair.
-If you don't have any character art and you win, I'll buy you a simple refsheet or something in place of your prize (if you want). I'll do something similar here to have only one winner with this situation if it comes up, somebody will still end up with the otter.
-To Enter:

Fursona Questions Thingy

What made you choose the species of your main fursona?
Well otters are pretty adorable in RL, but I spose I chose it more for some traits associated with anthro otters. Stuff like: playfulness, flexibility, intelligence, promiscuity, cuteness of course, dat swimmer build, lovely webbed digits, musk, sleekness, litheness etc. Being the ott is loads of fun, and he's quite nice to look at, that about sums it up.
Is your fursona just like you, or how you want to be?
Hmmmm. Well Ket started out as a generic victim character, slutty slut with really bad luck. He's grown over time to be a lot more like me though, or at least how I am deep down, even if it's not outwardly expressed much in RL. He's gone from total sub to switch, and from totally unwilling in many scenarios to a nice mix and some fun semi-willing times. Physically, he was based on my own height and weight exactly, so he's me if I keep up with my gym routines (so not at all lately. XD).
Does your fursona have the same personality you have?
He's surely more extroverted, forward, and athletic. As I said though, he's continuing to grow closer to me as time passes.
Does your fursona have the same dislikes and likes as you do?
Mostly? Depends I guess. He likes swimming more and he's more carnivorous/cannibalistic....
Does your fursona look like you at all?
His tail is bigger.
Is your fursona the same gender as you, if not why?
Yups, cause dick.
Do you have more then one main fursona?
Nah, a couple alt characters that pop up once in a while. Considering giving Ket some alternate forms too. Bunny? Cheetah?
Do you have a back story for your fursona, if so does it have anything to do with your own history?
I like to say he had a tribal upbringing in forested riverlands, then he can either be integrated into a more modern society in his early teens, or remain as a forest-dwelling ott. So clearly has nothing to do with me. xD
Is your fursona mated, if so is it to your real life significant other?
Nope and N/A :P
If not are they looking for a mate, or are they a swinger so to speak?
Not looking. Have some people who are special to me, and hopefully they know so, but don't want commitment like that right now.
Is there something special about your fursona that you think sets them apart from others?
Hmm, I think he's a typical ott, physically. He has some especially sensitive zones, though they're not so unique. He's a nice blend of masochistic, devious exhibitionism that is not so common to come by, at least in my experience.
Do you have much art of your main fursona/s?
Hahahahahahahaha. <.<
Would you ever consider parting with your main fursona, if so why?
It would be really really tough for me. It's conceivable though.
If you suit, do you have a suit of your main fursona?
Suiting is something I have basically no interest in, some people have nice ones to look at, but I don't think it's for me. The eyes creep the fuck out of me.
Have you ever roleplayed with your main fursona, or do you prefer not to?

Yup. :P We've both helped eachother grow, as silly as that is.

500, 7000, and Journalness
Posted 12 years agoWelp, that latest little art dump pushed me over 500 watchers, closing in on 7000 pageviews too. :o Both are extremely arbitrary milestones, and I'm sure there will be many more in the future. I just needed a reason to convince myself to make a journal, and 500 seems as good as any.
So I thiiiink I thanked everyone individually unless they were anti-shout.
