Still in "South Texas" but lots more to do.
General | Posted 13 years agoSo I've done it. 10 years behind but damnit I've done it.
I finally moved out on my own!
Man does this feel good, strange.. but good. Sure it's only one room but it's MY room. To do with as I please. Which right now means trying to find some decent, smallish furniture. Namely a couch and a coffee table.
Living in San Antonio now. Much better then living in the Valley thats for sure. Yeah it's hot but not as sticky. Plus I'm only a half mile from downtown. Theres things to do there at least. I look forward to seeing what this place has to offer.
And so now begins the attempt on meeting more furries, making new friends.
Only fur group seems to be near Austin, a bit of a drive but not to much. There are furries around here but I'm not 100% sure how to get in touch with them. Oh well, I'll figure it out.
Work is work, dull but it pays.

I forgot how strange this place is..
General | Posted 14 years agoSo I've been here down in good ole Six Shooter Junction, as my mom likes to call it. Harlingen, TX for a few days now. And fuck, I forgot how strange this place is. Sure I've got family down here, so at least I have a few cousins I can hang out with. But man, the deep-seated religious outlook is kind of creepy. They talk normal, they act normal like any regular person in their mid-20s. But they have no leeway in thinking, it's either right or wrong. I haven't really tested it yet but I'm pretty sure any jokes about Christianity won't be well-received. Just one of those feelings.
Everything is just.. bland. And hot, lets not forget hot. I go from nice Washington weather in the 60's to 95-105 degrees down here.
I'm used to being alone but not lonely. I had old friends in Washington, was trying to make new ones. My brother is there. I enjoyed living there. I'm lonely.

Roads go ever ever on...
General | Posted 14 years agoOver rock and over tree.. Ah who doesn't love the Hobbit soundtrack.
Well. This sucks, getting bitched at to put the computer in the car already. It's only 3 pieces for fucks sake. Last night in our house, moving 2500+ miles?
Yeah, Texas.
Haven't been back in ages. I like it up here in Washington, good weather and nice people. I have a feeling I'm going to feel pretty lonely even with my relatives around.
After 10 years of living here I finally start to meet good people. Fuck. Aww well, I don't intend to stay down there longer then a year or two anyway. Not as if this is some sorta goodbye either. I hear they got internetz down there. Still, I've never been big on texting for conversation. I prefer voices, meeting face to face.
BUt to the furry people I've meet, thanks for making me feel welcome. I may not consider everyone I met a friend, yet! But thats only cause it takes awhile to build that. To others who I've met who I already feel are friends. Hey, sometimes connections happen fast. Wish I would've had more time to chat and hang out. And to the furs who I never got to meet, maybe next time neh?
How do you end something like this. Oh yeah, power down this thing and throw it in the car.
So much more in my head but not sure how to get it out.

3rd Furmeet - Once again, another stupendous success!
General | Posted 14 years agoYeah, we went from 1st to 3rd. I'm lazy. I am what I am and thats all that I am.
Went bowling up in Port Orchard, Washington. A decent drive, about an hour or so. But it was worth it.
Wes set it up. His first attempt at getting a furmeet done. And he did a pretty good job. Minor hiccups and everything still went off smoothly so nice one at that. I think he felt to badly at a few things but other then telling him. "Hey don't worry, can't expect to get everything right the first time and everything is still going fine." just move on and make sure people enjoy themselves. Which they did.
I showed up early in case anyone wanted a lift from the ferry. Hung out with Wes at his place. First time getting a pedicure. Felt.. strange. I was told I should get Forest Green from a friend of his. But no. I'm all natural when it comes to colors.. which means.. no colors. He brought a few of his non furry friends along. Good people. They enjoyed themselves. Couple of 'em even tried on Razzy's head.
Got to re-meet Razzy Lee
razzylee and Robert
CngDelta757 Plenty of new faces. Some I got to know better and some I didn't but everyone was cool. Demetri
FayyAislin a very.. outgoing young fur. Who had to leave early but still enjoyed herself. Chatted with 2 furs who came from New Mexico of all places. Draxa and Bounce. And of the 6 of us bowling in one lane. Draxa, with her paws and head. Beat us! Highest overall winning streak I'm pretty sure. And Jeff the gnome guy was there. Wasn't even sure at first if he was there just because or had dropped someone off there. Daigo & Wes were nice enough to buy us appetizers.
Razzy wore herself out. Dancing every time someone got a strike. And then just dancing. They're daanciiiiiing! Ddaaaannncciiiinggg! /weeps. Dirty Rotten Scoundrels anyone?
God I suck at bowling. And my forearm started aching towards the end. Luckily for me, Arcis showed up and took my mantle of worst bowler. I think getting 2 strikes in a row helped me also. Lets see if I can remember the names of everyone I met.
Razzy Lee - Again
Robert - Again
Draxa
Bounce
Arcis
Bookie
Vince.. or Vincent.. crap..
Jeff
Demetri
Travis
Bennet
Daigo
Otto
Whiskey
And the fur who got it set up. Wesley.
I'll get the pictures I took pretty soon. More side shots? Sure but I'm lazy and didn't want to get out of my chair. Sides it's a cell phone camera and it kept locking itself.

First Furmeet (Complete)
General | Posted 14 years agoWell the first furmeet I went to was fun. Met some cool people. Being in a build-a-bear store was kind of strange though. Reminded me of MLP with all the "cuteness" around there. I will admit to being a bit uncomfortable at first. But the guy setting it up (Cloudy) and the store employees made us do all kinds of weird stuff while getting our plushies. Kinda loosened me up. If I knew build-a-bear had other things besides bears I probably would've been there way before. Thanks for the fun conversation Yarek!
First Furmeet
General | Posted 14 years agoWell tomorrow my first furmeet. And at a Build-A-Bear in the mall. Who knew right. A little nervous about it, based on a lot of the comments it seems the rent-a-cops there had a thing against people in fursuits and anyone else w/ them on Halloween but the guy setting it up said he's got everything covered so here's hoping it goes well.
An hour drive away but hey some people drive a helluva lot longer for that. Last Saturday they had a bowling thing w/ 80+ furries. And some of those came from Oregon I think. To bad that one I missed.

FWA 2011 - Furries in Wonderland (1)
General | Posted 14 years agoOoh, first journal. Got a lot in my head, gonna be a ramblin' man.
So my first furry convention. Success? Yes! I'm still kind of on a buzz from it. And unsurprisingly, when you start down that rabbit hole, you simply want to go farther. Having this account for awhile and it being empty, I now feel more of a reason to actually start using it. We'll see how long that lasts.
So my first day and a half at the convention were.. not as fun as I thought it would be. I was with two friends of mine (Zaloko & Party Cat) but Party Cat bounced out to go have dinner Thursday night so it was just me and Zaloko wandering around and Friday only had a few moments of interests. Went through the Dealer's Den and did buy some books and Cruelty comic by Rukis but you can't do that all day. Had fun learning how to play Betrayal at House on the Hill, but afterward everyone went their own way.
My own fault, can't blame anyone else. Breaking the ice with conversation is still uncomfortable for me AND with so many groups around, you don't want to try to insert yourself into a group of strangers and expect to be included. Kind of rude I believe. So talking to Party Cat about it Friday night and he tells me. "You do have to try you know." Can't argue with that so I think to myself. People are out and about in force during the afternoon/early night. When are you more likely to see individuals you'd be more comfortable talking to. Early morning/late night! Now, how to stay awake. Ah I know, they've got a workout room. I'll go do that to pass the time. I did wake up my two compadres, which I'm very sorry for doing.
So, it's 5 AM and I'm wandering around the Hotel. Pretty empty but on the 3rd floor is a deli & computers to use the internet. I see 3 furs sitting around it and ask if they mind if I join them. It's a slow start but slowly starts to work. Oxa shows us his animations on his FA page and he LOVES the new Pac Man edition. Him and a fur from Pensacola, FL, who for the life of me I can't remember his name and it's bugging me so bad, decide to have the breakfast buffet. To rich for my blood, I'll stick with my overpriced turkey sandwich. This next part really surprised me. Oxa asks if I can get his wallet, he forgot his room key and yeah, you can't just leave and tell them you'll be back to pay. Trust me? to get his his wallet and come back? Wow. Did take a bit of time finding his room. Wrong tower and I knocked on the wrong door once. Embarrassing. But I met a furry artist when I got back whose name also escapes me. After about an hour, hour and a half we all split. Success! With a lighter step I search out more people to harass.
Downstairs, 1st floor, convention area itself. I see someone else with a name tag sitting, drinking a cup of coffee. Nah he doesn't mind if I pester him with questions. Turns out it's Runtt, the drummer for Matthew Ebel's concert later on that night. He tells a few amusing stories about California and how crazy the east coast is. Short conversation since he's going to breakfast.
After another round trip up and down floors I find another fur sitting downstairs in the convention area. A very nice guy from Alabama I think who again I can't remember. Only towards the end did I start writing down names. Go figure. We chit chat for awhile. He's volunteering so he can still get fun con stuff done. Such as getting commissions done and is really into cars. Not my thing but it's interesting enough. I learn about 5 squirrels is enough for one person to eat. And then he mentions this. "Hey it's 9 o'clock. Want to get some free breakfast?" What. Turns out FWA has cereal and animal crackers and candy and other various treats available in one of the rooms. So we head on up. Crack some Vore jokes while I'm chowing down on animal crackers and tell people who come in. "You want milk, it's in the bathtub." We get a few confused looks till they realize a bunch of ice was poured in to keep stuff cold. I'm 3 for 3 and it's not even 11 AM yet. Sure I might not ever really be "Friends" with them but I can still say hi whenever I see them and inquire about what they're up to. If we become more friendly, great! If we don't. Doesn't matter, they're still nice guys.
Party Cat and Zaloko join me when I message them about the free breakfast and we chat for awhile. Watch cartoons with other Furries and make small talk. It's 11 AM and I'm feeling very tired. So I head down to my room and pass the fuck out. I don't wake up till 4 PM or so and I've missed quite a few panels. But I don't particularly mind. The night hasn't even started yet and I'm feeling a helluva lot better then the previous day.
So I see this Journal has gone much much longer then I intend to so I'll stop here and finish it up later. Hopefully while it's still pretty fresh in my mind.
