Careworking.

This career I've signed myself in for, is not something I'd suggest just anybody, let me explain. It requires alot emotionally, aswell as mentally, not so much physical work unless restraint is needed but thats always a plus if you got size on your side. I love the three YP's [Young persons] I have to work with, they seem nice enough, regular kids, but when you read things like why they are there, and when they kick off, its a big thing to be able to let that go and treat them as you did just an hour before, trying to actually help them.

See at my unit, a regular looking house in a residential area, we help them get ready for independant living, education, health and other things that parents basically do for their kids. Jobs got plenty of perks, they go the Cinema for an activity, I'm paid for, they want a DvD rental, I can get one, hell I'm twenty three and had to take the two lads to Laser quest on Wednesday and dear lord they ran me round like a human shield for a half hour of hell and laser beams.

But the downside to what people might think this of being an easy job, I even admit, free Sky TV and Xbox 360 with the lads ain't half bad at all, and all meals covered and my own bed sleep in since it does require 1-2nights away from home, the downside is the paperwork, the rules and regulations. See a Careworker in my part of the care system is like a replacement parent, but we're also the police, the big brother, the socialising person, the shoulder to cry on.

To be honest, I'm tired after leaving work because I only get five-six hours at best even though I'm paid to sleep eight, you just never do. The paperworks always got to be checked and correct, everything has to be logged, cook meals, clean everyday, deal with contacts [Parents, Social workers, appointments and such.] and if a YP goes onto suicide watch, thats a wakenight shift - No sleep at all.

So I put this just incase someone else thought that Careworking with specialist Young Persons was a good job, it is to me because I come home with satisfaction and decently paid, but we make our own opinions.

Updates.

I'm gonna be paying out next month for more art from friend artists, and I'll just make this clear now, I pay the artists that are friends and such not because of discounts, special offers or whatever. But because the people I order from I can talk to, trust with my money and get the job done, people like Talie, Pav and Lu should be patted on the back for how much effort they put into things. Other furries might not notice you guys out of all the 'flashy' art, but I do, and I'm proud of you all for making some real eye catching pieces.

I'm going to keep this simple and blunt.

I've been arguing over my broadband with TalkTalk for the past two weeks, as in, an extra £10 a month in charges when I don't get anything above 2MB speed [Im paying for 10MB].

They refuse lower the charge since its my package, I refuse pay the extra £30 its added upto now. So they've cut my net and stuff claiming its "Automatic" if my bills not paid fully.

So I'm looking at being offline 2-6weeks to resolve this issue.

Though hopefully, since I've gone to Virgin Media instead, they say they'll do me a better package and have me online by..

Anyone wishing my mobile to get contact just note me, I might be able do the old Mobile connection on the odd days for things like Steam and Yahoo.

I'm going to do what I should of done plenty time ago, and that is simply to shed off, people that annoy me, fuck me off or just generally irritate and I put up with it for 'friendship' can get tipped out. I don't take kindly to a few things.

Conquesting - You know who you are, and you can fuck right off, I'm a person who can add one plus one from your gallery, came for friendship, not to be a fuckquest on the wall.

Replacing - Pulling my heart strings with family like love and then just jacking with someone nearby, sure you got time for them and cons, but not the person you say you care about?

Can't get a job - I know folks personally who have legit excuses for not being able grab a job, and the people who moan about it I'm talking about right here, get off your ass, and go fucking find one, plenty that are a better boost from the dole/benefits, even if not at the best of hours, but seriously, if you've not got one within the past year, stop whining ya goddamn slacker, I'm sick of reading a journal about it every month, or some Conpost that you magically afforded on my Tax rate and the rest of the country.

Friendship - You sign up for it, actually try being one, friendship is not to sit there and wait for me to do the Hello everytime, its not hard type four to five letters in a greeting, and if your always busy and want to throw in that excuse, thats fine, but actually try telling friends your backed up.

I got a bit more add, but I'm not gonna rage on a journal to that extent, these are just main points that have been on my nerves and needed be shoved somewhere.

So I've been away like, Six weeks from moving, been fun watching movies, reading books, playing my games Campaign modes. Problem was my new home wasn't cable fitted so I had to order ADSL net, chose Talktalk ... Big Mistake!

Went with them to save money, but ended up costing myself like an extra MONTHS offline time. Eh, ain't been so bad, its let me calm down and think about things.

Some people have shined out as good friends whilst I've been stuck using my mobile phone plugged to my PC for a low powered mobile-net line. Others...ain't.

So when I come back on, I'm gonna give more time to the people who actually helped me out and showed real friendship when I was pretty much rafted out in No-internet land, this ain't at everyone, I mean I aint been able get on steam hardly at all, Skypes a 'haha' to login, so been basically stuck with AIM and/or Yahoo.

I'll also be retaking up Eve-Online, gonna get my old account back and play around more on Secondlife, some odd reason I like my Avatar and wanna fiddle, from the old pictures anyway.

Be switching jobs VERY soon from my crap Nightjob to my Carework career, honestly can't wait, especially at the chance of a decent company car.

Oh and a special thankyou to anyone whose Drawn me a doodle whilst I've been offline, Sorry I aint been able hardly see anything or read journals, but my phone is basically Dial-Up speed... if and when it wishes work, but like I said, should be all plugged in and back Thursday.

This Journal is for her, she isn't an artist, but a buyer.

What FA needs is what I call a black marker, lets say an artist gives a set date for a finished product, you pay upfront for it, thatrs the agreement right there when money changes hands, and the artists hobbie, becomes a job, something they have chosen to do.

Now if the products late, with good reason, then alright, an agreement can be made for another date. But without good reason and a "I don't give a fuck who I do in what order" attitude, expect to give back refunds -immediatly- to those you have failed to deliver a product for, if you have already spent this money, then your a moron and need a wakeup call on the fact you're abusing your JOB.

I think a rating system. kind of like Ebay has, would do some better, so they can see the artists talent, but also their job ability too, because some people buy from friends, some people, is just money for a talent.

I'm not daft enough mention names, so my hands don't get tied and I get bollocked by admins for some artists cry wolf of Harrasment - But lets be serious.

Heres an example:

$80 for a picture, One month wait time.

So lets say between 28-31 days.

Not delivered, client wants a refund, you argue that the sketch is done, and that the character is complicated.

Argument void because if the characters too hard to handle, why take the job? A sketch one can do in an hour, its the detail work and colouring that makes the talent worth the cash, especially charging over $50 when alot of artists charge $10-$20 for inked work!

Black markers should be introduced, and when an artist hits three black markers or a rating of 0% - Admin investigation, and a possible temporary IP ban, hault their money juggling.

But to keep it simple, a Month for art, then daring say another month or so when you've been paid, Don't keep the buyers list open, and certainly don't go spending the money before the works done.

I'll ask a question, answer if you think you must.

If you have a fallout with someone, they hurt you or you have a relationship breakdown, a bad one lets say, how is the reaction - no matter to what level, justified by the means?

I've forgiven stuff before, maybe its taken longer on some aspects, or in a blink on others, so let me break this down so anyone wishing too can answer properly.

My question, in simple terms is this.

"How can you forgive, what you see, as unforgivable actions?"

Is it character, personality, a misfiring spark in ones mind?

Or is it because it really is an unforgiving action?

I mean theres certain things you can't forgive but others can, like a cheating lover, maybe you can forgive it once, maybe not, or stealing, it can be let off sometimes.

Help me to see a bigger picture here, and maybe the things I have deemed unforgivable, I can forgive, because honestly I'm getting a bit tired of old fights cropping up on me, or others having to jump in and think they need defend me against others. I'm after opinions on what people think is a fair price for digital art, quality balances it I know but my most common price I've found thus far is about $70.

Now to me, personally, I find it a little high when it hits that, I mean if the artist is trying to make a living from it, perhaps they jumped into the wrong money making pool of artwork? But then again some offer $70 as full character sheets, or couples, some even offer two maybe three comic pages for that money.

Now I've seen artists pull some nasty stunts in my time where they charge, take the money and deliver what can only be described as crayon to wall drawn rubbish, or sometimes don't deliver at all.

I'm not here to name and shame them, thats for them to either correct themselves or think they've been let off with it, just shows what kind of person they are at the end of the day if they can willingly do that to a person and walk away.

So, opinions on prices, and possibly a few good Character sheet suggestions for my Feral self? I'm willing go upto $100 for a detailed sheet so, don't think I'll be a cheap drake, I just prefer to be, because after all, digital art won't be with me forever, and the traditional stuff... I don't want to even know their pricetags including post and packaging! Mercy!

To inform people who don't know yet but may wish to, Vi is being written off as a Pink & Blue comic character, because I no longer want hir as my self chosen image.

Let me explain.

I used to be a very happy male only drake, fair enough I've had a few changes over the years, who doesn't tweak things like a hairstyle or some such. But changing to a herm was a big difference, I'm not fitting of this anymore, I'm not happy with what I see, not saying the arts bad, but... at the end of the day, its my personal choice to make.

Now let me clear this up, since I'm sure some friends close to me have seen things like my WoW account or my bankcard and noticed a G D Thorneycroft across it.

It stands for Grant David Thorneycroft, now when I say my characters name is my own, its because for the past four nearly five years I've been attempting to change it, but since I ran myself into debt, court will not allow it till my debts cleared, to which I'll hopefully soon be done with, so there you go.

I'm a big guy, chubby class even but thats possibly due to a drug fueled lifestyle for nearly the past year, I was losing weight till I started smoking weed - and munchies END weightloss fast. I've been sober from that crap now for a while, and don't plan on having it again unless its a joint with friends or some such, so, another fact for friends - plus weights comming down ^_^
