A Bit About: Genevieve
General | Posted a week agoHello! Welcome to something new I'm doing, a little series called "A Bit About." This will go over OCs of mine, going over them, their motivations, how they wound up on the path they did, etc. This might also encompass some scenarios to, such as Dynamic Springs and Serene Hills. Thought this would be a fun way to go over various characters that some people may like and want to know more about.
So to start, I figured I'd go with arguably my most popular OC, Genevieve!
Genevieve is an owl woman, always dressed in a sweater that hangs off a shoulder and a pair of jeans. She has a large set of wings on her back, but she can use her magic to get rid of them if she wants to. Usually, when she's outdoors, the wings will be out, or if she's inside or in a narrow area, she'll get rid of them so they don't crowd up too much space. Got to be comfortable when transforming people after all!
Genevieve relishes in the allure, bringing down someone's defenses through friendly banter or acts. Her victims are nonethewiser she is anyone mean or evil, she puts on a very nice face, bringing them into a false sense of security before she quickly reveals her intentions.
Once she drops the act, Genevieve becomes very sinister and devious. Any smiles and giggles erased in favor of cold statements and gleeful delight that she is about to permanently transform someone into someone or something else. She is very thorough in her transformations, always making sure to change their mental state so that the victim is essentially someone new entirely, that is, if they're even lucky enough to stay animate.
Genevieve also has a big interest in inanimate transformation. In many cases, if possible, she enjoys using them after the person transforms into an object, laying in thick that they are just an object now, a tool to be used. If she grows bored, she'll throw it out. When it is something she doesn't need or wants to take care of, she'll just leave the transformed wherever they are to let fate decide what happens to them, good or bad, she doesn't care.
While others like her may like telling the victims what is about to happen, Genevieve prefers to generally keep it a surprise. She wants them to be caught off guard by it, make herself seem friendly, until her victim feels like they could be friends, before slowly peeling back the mask, and before they can run off, she's already at work making the transformation begin. It starts with losing the ability to move before the physical transformation begins. The process is very fast, once Genevieve taunts them when they're frozen in place, often calling them "rude for trying to run off without a proper goodbye," before the transformation really gets going and there's hardly much time to react.
Genevieve has always been sinister, seeing the world as her playground. Little is known about her history, no family ties found anywhere, and whether or not she transformed them is unknown. For the most part, little is known about Genevieve because they're transformed by her before they can ever record any detail. It isn't because she's necessarily conversation, Genevieve sees it a personal goal that if she talks to anyone, they will not be leaving the conversation as the same person they entered as, if they're even leaving as a person at all!
Genevieve transforms people through magic, and it's something she always had. At first, she just found it amusing, but the more people she transformed, the more she decided it was almost a challenge, try to see if she'd ever fail to come up with an idea while talking to a stranger. She's outgoing and sociable, which is bad luck for anyone who decides to take the conversational bait. Genevieve's magic forms a bubble around those being affected, so that anyone around the scene will be none the wiser to the transformation. She prefers the quiet intimacy of transformation; she doesn't need people causing a panic just because some blue jay turned into graffiti art!
So, how can someone be okay with turning a snow leopard going to meet a bunch of friends into a fire hydrant? Or a trio of dads meeting up for a pint into two college girl kitties and the other into a celebration cake?
Simple.
To Genevieve, it's fun. She doesn't have a conscience to speak of. She doesn't care who she is transforming. She doesn't care about their family, friends, or anything. In fact, it might just bait more people to question her, and she has her rule: no one stops talking with Genevieve the same way they started talking to her as.
Genevieve is not a good person. She can't be fixed, she doesn't want to be fixed. She simply wants to entertain herself, and doesn't care who or what it affects, because at the end of the day, to Genevieve, only Genevieve matters. Her entertainment is worth more than anyone else's! She is very cautious when dealing with anyone who can transform her as well, making sure to have wards to dispel any attempts and fire them back at whoever was foolish enough to try. Her powers are incredibly strong, and hard to break or reverse. As such, many of Genevieve's transformations are very much permanent as none possess the strength of magic to revert the changes, even if they could remember who they used to be. Her transformations can be overwritten through scientific methods, and trying to undo it through magic is a fool's errand. Even then, the original mind if essentially erased in Genevieve's transformations, so even though science can get close to the original, they'll never truly be the same person.
And that's A Bit About Genevieve! Hope you enjoyed that lil' lore dump! I'm not planning any kind of schedule for these, they're very much a "do as I feel like" kind of release schedule. If you have questions about Genevieve, I'd be happy to answer them here (same goes for any OC I talk about in the future)! I want A Bit About to be a series where people can learn more about my OCs, so questions are encouraged! And if there's any other character you want to see me talk about before, comment about that to so I know where demand is!

Starting an online TF Tabletop RPG
General | Posted 2 weeks agoHello! It's me, the Vinoguy. This journal is going to be pretty quick. I'm looking to DM a TF-based TTRPG DnD/Pathfinder kind of deal (DnD probably). I've not fully DM'd before (only been a player) so it won't be like, suuuuper super "strictly by the book" as it were. And because it's me, it'll be TF-themed. It'll also be text-based for ease of availability (for now, at least!). This would be hosted over Discord. Looking for 3-4 players, so spots are going to be quite limited, but won't be first-come, first-served!
If you're interested, leave a comment! You can DM quesitons if you have them!

LVFC Closing Thoughts and Thank You
General | Posted 3 weeks agoHeyo! While I'm not leaving until tomorrow morning (and I'll be right back to work when I get back!), I wanted to write out this journal on my last night here in Vegas. If you didn't know, I was at Las Vegas Fur Con this weekend (and if you were there, maybe you saw me)!
The term "I really needed this" gets thrown around a lot, especially with vacations, but with this one in particular I cannot stress enough how much I really needed this. I try not to vent into the void online, but I haven't been doing amazingly the last few weeks, to put it lightly. This trip was truly a breath of fresh air in more ways than one, and really helped turned my mental state around and get "back on track."
The event was fantastic, and having the entire venue basically be all furry was a really cool sight to see. Seeing all the cool art and merch in the dealer's den, all the fursuits walking around, and the chill people I had the pleasure of chatting with. Got to do some cool stuff like play in the Charity Poker tournament (and even though I didn't do great, was proud of not being the first one out of the table since I've never played "tournament" Poker before. Also did a small thing where I asked random furries for character traits and I plan to make an OC out of those.
I had come to the event with a friend (who we hung out Wed night through Sunday morning where his flight was super duper early so Sunday I've been "riding solo" as it were). Doing Vegas-y things, on top of going to the con together and just hanging out and bonding was something great (and we hope to be able to come back every year). If you're reading this, you know who you are, cheers brother.
And a special thank you to the rest I got to hang out with! Being invited to join a group for dinner at a super cool German restaurant next to the venue was awesome. As was meeting fellow TF furs at the TF Meet and Greet (even if I didn't get to mingle tooooo much, I'm still trying to break out of being super introverted I'm sorrrry).
Truth be told, I've really kind of been doubting my "place" in the furry and TF community as a whole. It never really felt like I "fit in" as it were. In the grand scheme of things I'm rather "basic," and as such don't really get to interact with others the ways other interact with each other. I never talked about it, but a long time ago I had someone I had considered a very close friend, and I thought they had felt the same way, and they left TF. No big deal, but when they broke off the friendship and stopped talking to me because I was "just a TF friend" that really broke me in a lot of ways. It made me really afraid to put myself out there, and I closed myself off in a lot of ways to not get hurt like that again.
But this weekend really helped me push through those thoughts. Everyone who wanted to swing and say hey, being invited outside of events involving the con, genuinely, genuinely I'm eternally thankful for. Just knowing that there were people who wanted to hang out or chat for a while, as "me" instead of "Vino/Nafster" as it were. It made me feel wanted, it really made me feel like, well, part of a community.
And so, I'm very, very, eternally thankful for everyone I hung out with, everyone who wanted to hang out, and everyone I got to meet, friend or stranger alike. I'm very bad with emotions and putting them out there, but everything truly meant a lot to me. This con will be forever special to me in a lot of ways, and I hope to continue to come every year, and go to more cons in the future (I'm still on a freelancer salary at the end of the day, so I still have to pick and choose, but I'd still really like to make it to MFF or FWA one of these years since a lot of furry friends go to those).
I'll be honest, writing this got me a bit teary-eyed (in a good way). Just know everyone who I got to interact with at this con, you truly impacted me for the better, and helped me out of the rut I've been feeling trapped in.
Truly, from the bottom of my heart, thank you!
Til next year, LVFC! Hopefully I've got a badge next time I need one!

Any RPers Out There?
General | Posted a month agoI wont lie, I've gotten more freetime lately and the itch for RP has grown a fair bit. It's a fun, "low stress" writing exercise for me, and Id kind of like to do it more consistently. Im usually pretty reserved about new partners since I never know if they'll put in proper effort. But, if you wanna try something and see where it goes, hit me up!
RP Mayhaps?

But, the actual end form itself is determined by me!
Or if you don't want to open the box, my regular commissions are open at my usual $5 per 500 word rate as well.

Life Updates
General | Posted 2 months agoIt's me, Vino! Just thought I'd drop some things off in a little update. As you've pry noticed, uploading and work has slowed down significantly this last little while. I had started a delivery job, and entered right during two busy seasons, with this last weekend being the busiest. This was kind of a wake-up call for me. I had gone to uni to get a Communications degree, and my first job after? Literally the same kind of job I was doing before I ever even went into college. It was a "I didn't go to school to NOT use my degree" moment, and enough had built up and yesterday, I quit my current job. It was meant to be a two-day a week part time job to kind of make stabilization in paychecks easier, but was quickly becoming a full-time commitment with mid-day shifts which I very much did not sign up for.
Now, I'm not fully unemployed. I do freelance work on the side for a website to have a source of consistent pay (which granted, isn't amaaaazing but it's enough to self-sustain) with commission work here being added onto it. So I'm back on the "normal job" hunt (or even more freelance stuff be it for writing or Communications), ideally remote but beggars can't be choosers.
Anyways! That's it. As far as content here goes, it'll be more consistent (I have a huuuuge backlog of stories I haven't posted yet. And those who have been patiently waiting for commissions, I'll get to those much quicker too!

Triple YCH Commission Opening!
General | Posted 3 months agoHello all! My commission queue is almost done, and since I'm going on vacation for me birthday next week, I thought I would open for a series of mini "YCH" commissions. For the unfamiliar, these are $5 stories to get a slot of your character inside a greater group story! I have done this previously, and you can see examples here: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/62062106/
So, for $5 you get a TF of guaranteed 500 words! These slots are more focused on the TF part, lessso on the story part. HOWEVER, because I love all three of these settings, if you want a longer story in a more traditional sense, you'd be welcome to buy them at my usual $5 per 500 word rate!
Now then, with that out of the way, here are the 3 settings!
1: Serene Hills: The Pokemon-exclusive Country Club! Serene Hills is home to Pokemon of all sorts, generally older, and has a very high-tech security system so that anyone who isn't a Pokemon is quickly changed to fix that fact! Lots of Pokemon TFs ahoy (usually with AP and personality shifts). You can preview Serene Hills here!: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/62528804/
2: EeveeTeevee: It's the all-Eevee streamer group! You've been recruited to join as the latest Eevee streamer! Not an Eevee? Don't worry, they can make anyone into any kind of Eevee! Jolteon, Sylveon, you name it! You can preview EeveeTeevee here: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/62057093/
3: Dynamic Springs: Dynamic Springs is a town that's constantly changing! Home to the "Reality Wave," at any moment, it might hit as everyone's reality is altered! Might be taking out the trash and turn into a raccoon digging through it, or maybe getting ready for work and the next getting ready for a photoshoot as a dolphin model! Or a standee advertising the latest trendy soda! Anything is possible~! You can preview Dynamic Springs here: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/56130772/
If you're interested, shoot me over a DM!
