Nothing really major to say other than I hope everyone has a safe and Happy New Year.

May 2025 be kind to us all and grant us opportunities to better ourselves and those around us~

I find myself involuntarily traveling on the road this evening. Apparently Hurricane Milton is taking aim towards the vicinity of my residence and evacuations were mandated.

So, long story short, my little October sketches will have to be put on hold as I have no viable mobile media options to keep the endeavor going.

I'll update accordingly when/if I can. Stay safe out there.


UPDATE#1: 10/10/24 - Staying at a relatives house out of state until the situation settles down and clears up enough for a return trip to be viable.

UPDATE#2: 10/16/24 - I made it back home yesterday and thankfully it was still there to welcome me in. Still no power though. Now begins the long cleanup phase. Hopefully by next week a sense of normalcy will return as I take some time to collect my thoughts about all this.

With ArtFight officially over, I can now turn my attention to other projects. Because I'm terribly slow with such things, not to mention dealing with life's numerous distractions and other such woes, I thought I'd give an early heads up to what watchers I have about one such project on the horizon. I am now entering the planning phase of my annual degenerate October sketching endeavor. This is basically me jotting down and sifting through what central theme to revolve around, what pokémon to feature and how to execute on it each day. Just laying down all text prompt prep-work so that on day 1, I can just focus on getting what art I can get done within the self imposed 1hr limit. All for the sake of testing my art skills and seeing how much I've developed each year. _{Maybe one day I can get to the point of being able to add some color to these things.} ^^;

For now this series will remain a personal endeavor, but who knows, maybe one day I'll involve the community somehow with this to some degree. Only time will tell. Share your thoughts and comments below if you wish to, otherwise I hope life treats you all well.

I sincerely hope that the holidays and festivities have treated everyone well and respectfully. I myself am still trying to find that happy balance between work, play, and self-care. Here's to hoping for a better and brighter new year, despite what the greater world order has up its sleeve.

Not quite the ides of March, but with October on the horizon, so too is my annual delve into degenerate sketch shenanigans. But then there's also something I've been mulling over recently.

I know I'm not the most active soul here and I rather quite enjoy my low profile anonymity, but I have been wondering on the potential of possibly involving folk here influencing certain outcomes for this event.

Outcomes such as taking suggestions for which mon to take on for the month or maybe even offer up the final day's sketch as a raffle prize?

Anywho, this is all just ideas and future speculation for now. So if nothing new develops from this little spiel and doesn’t completely blow up in my face, then consider all this just an overly worded and unnecessary announcement that rough plans are in place for the October sketchings to proceed as they normally have.

After a certain point, seeing the same journal post day after day reminds me how stagnant I am with these things.

Anywho... while my artistic endeavors throughout the year are certainly lacking, there are at least two months in particular that I try to put in the extra effort to at least kick up the dust ~ July's ArtFight, and October's Inktober*.

Social media platforms of any kind really aren't my thing. I didn't even notice I hit 100 watchers until just the other day... though how many of those are even still around will remain a mystery to me. ^^;

It's a mundane milestone for most, but one even I never thought was attainable for someone like me that has been here for as long as I have. I don't draw for a living, I draw to help pass the time in my chaotic life and maybe have a bit of fun while doing it. The fact that others seem to even hint at appreciating the stuff I do simply humbles me.

So to those of you that I've apparently earned enough of your attention to receive a watch, thank you.

My anxiety/apprehension over social media platforms shows in how often I even bother to update these journals. ^^;

Regardless, I'm still lurking around posting and fav'ing things as I go about my days. Just thought I'd stir up the dust a bit to show in some small way that I haven't quite disappeared into the ether yet.

To be frank I've let this account fall by the wayside in exchange for my dA account after finding a much more sociable community there. And yet even there I still rarely use or update these journals. It's amusing to see that it's been ten long years since I found  pokecombatacademy ... OTL. While my focus has shifted and drifted over the years I can say with certainty that because of this one group my art is what it is today. Which leads me into the reason for stirring up the journal dust today.

I'm looking to stretch my artistic reach and try out newer ventures ... to include varying levels of the renowned NSFW realm should I feel motivated to do so; a rather stark contrast to my nine-year-ago self. So while I may continue to produce PCA related content, I also hope to spice things up and have some original content here as well.

I can't say exactly when, but for certain new content is inbound. For those watchers of mine whom stick around, I thank you and hope you continue to enjoy the slow ride. For those that decide to part ways, I can only hope you've enjoyed your stay and have even better experiences on you new path.

I’ve gone and done the unthinkable … after five long years … I’ve decided to update my journal … OTL …

Why wait so long? Simple. I never really found the journal system to be ‘useful’ in any way. Plus, 2009 and the following years was not a pleasant period in time for me. Granted my situation has greatly improved since then, things are still far from comfortable.

Like working two part time jobs seven days a week with no benefits for two years ... o_O ...

I’m not fond of venting or writing about my life to the masses, but in retrospect, FurAffinity and DeviantArt are the closest forms of ‘social media’ I’ve frequently used since I joined them back in 2006. Just to show how out of sync I am with the world; I’ve long forgotten my Facebook account details, I find Twitter to be mostly if not completely pointless, and I have no idea what Tumblr is exactly. And to give you even more insight to my madness and indecisiveness, this journal took me about a week’s worth of time; from the moment I decided to make it happen to the moment I clicked the submit button.

I’m honestly not even sure if I’ll be able to keep up with the journal updates from here on out, but since I’ve made the effort to improve my art all these years, I might as well ‘try’ to make the effort and improve on my ‘social skills’ to some degree ^^;

So with that all being said, until the next journal entry _{if ever} I’ll leave off with my long standing journal closer …

Just thought I'd drop by and stir up the dust a bit. Since I'm not one to talk about daily happenings to the general public, don't expect to see much from my journals (just a forewarning).

In other news, I'll post what I can, when I can. Life takes precedence in all matters. There's no point in me bending head over heels for the sake of gratification from the internet. Although in spite of all that, that doesn't mean I can't find the time to conjure up a sketch or two =p.

Well, as you can probably tell by my recent string of submissions, this  pokecombatacademy thing is about the only thing I've been motivated to work on lately. I've been rather busy looking for a job and dealing with college *sigh*.


So seeing as how I've never done anything like this before, I figure I might as well see how I can be more active with the PCA community and finally give a try at this whole request/trade/commission ... system ... thing ... and see what my talent can do for others ^__^.

- A fair warning to all, my free time is rather limited, so do try to consider that factor before making any decisions about going through with this.

- I'm open to the idea, but a little iffy when it comes to doing requests. There are so many variables to consider when going this route that could end up complicating things beyond necessity.

- I would do commissions, but I just don't know how to work with the whole payment system thing.

- I will not do ANY mature works; my conscious simply wont allow me to do so.

- SEND ME A NOTE explaining your details if your interested.

Despite my constricted time frame, I think I could be able manage a small amount, maybe three ... at least for now and see how it goes ^_^;

I’m not dead; I’m just a tad bit preoccupied with things at the moment. To sum up the things I’ve been through lately, I’ve had a pretty lousy past few weeks. Where should I start … ah yes, my laptop.

For some reason beyond my comprehension, my laptops hard-drive failed during finals week. It took about four days to get it fixed; namely a new hard drive = starting from square 1 >_<. So I had to reinstall all my programs again only to find out my iPod is dead (seriously lousy life span on those things). Otherwise it’s fully operational once again ^_^.

Since I had to move out of the college dorm room, I had to re-integrate all of my belongings from both of my place of residencies. So I’ve been cleaning out my entire bedroom filtering out old clothes and junk (4 days so far and no end in sight).

My sisters supposed surgery schedule is complicating things to no end. Thusly I am also getting the feeling that I am being forced to get my drivers license (I know its important, I just don’t have the motivation to do it ^^; ) in order to alleviate future travel complications.

As far as last semester went, not too bad (it could have been worse). I pretty much failed trigonometry … again (okay so I didn’t really fail trig, it was a D, but I hate getting D’s >_<, total GPA killer … except for F’s O_o)

On a brighter note, at my current rate of schooling, I “SHOULD” be able to complete an AA in graphic arts with a years worth of time. The trade-off, I must sacrifice my summer vacation(s) *sigh*. I also managed to get myself a copy of Pokemon Diamond to drain up my free time ^^;.

Now that that is over … I have sketches, they just need a bit of work before I can put them up. I shall prevail ... sorry for the disturbance ^^;.
