Commissions OPEN!
Posted 11 months agoNow that Spooktober is done, I will be opening up for more commissions! If you're interested, please check out my commission form here!
I charge an hourly rate of $60 per hour. On average, one character takes me 2-3 hours to finish with full color and shading, depending on character design and/or pose complexity. Characters with complex patterns or markings, wings, extra limbs etc. will take longer to complete. Larger commissions featuring multiple characters, reference sheets, or comic pages are handled via estimate. If you have any questions, please check out my FAQ and pricing guide.

Posted a year agoI am opening my queue for commissions at my current rate of $50 per hour! On average, it takes 2-3 hours per character if you want full color and shading. (Character details such as complex patterns and markings, extra limbs/wings can affect the final time.) If you are unsure as to what you're wanting, feel free to reach out and we can figure something out.
I don't like relying exclusively on notes as a means of communication so I am handling commission info via a Google form, which can be found here!

Commissions Open! (New Commission System)
Posted 2 years agoIt's been a while but I am opening for commissions again! After recent developments I am no longer comfortable using a commission system that is reliant on contact via FA's notes. Instead, I will be handling commissions via Google forms for the foreseeable future. This will let me to manage commission requests from multiple platforms in a single place, even if one of those platforms goes down or does something dumb with their private messaging systems.
The new commission form can be found here!
I will be working on a separate FAQ/TOS document that will also be accessible through the form, but in the meantime, you can continue to refer to this journal here for any questions not answered by the info in the commission form!

NOT Too Short for FA? (Support Ticket Update)
Posted 2 years agoI finally heard back on the support ticket I filed Friday afternoon. And as promised, I'm going to share what I have been told. I have linked the following NSFW pics from my gallery and asked if any of these constituted a 'childlike' character:
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/48921376/
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/51517585/
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/51878891/
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/43321510/
The last one was of particular concern, because rookie Digimon were given as an example of things that would violate the policy, and Impmon was mentioned specifically by name. And I have drawn them relatively 'on model.' However, to my surprise, I was told that none of these pics would be in violation of the policy going forward, including the Digimon. Disappointingly, I wasn't given much information as to what sort of metric was used to determine this. Just that 'small and shortstack adults do not violate the policy.'
However, I also shared these pics of the skunk version of Avery I've been drawing whenever 'Skunktember' rolls around:
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/44175846/
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/49641955/
I was REALLY WORRIED about these, because he is drawn as a skunk with his usual short proportions, and is depicted with another 'full sized' skunk. Along with these pictures, I provided a pic of his usual appearance and explained the context of the situation. And I was told that these WOULD HAVE BEEN in violation of the policy, but were saved by one detail. Do you know what they said?
Muscle definition.
That's it. That was the determining factor that made these pics okay. They followed up to say that 'muscle definition' IS NOT the sole factor in what constitutes a 'childlike appearance' and that context and art style is also taken into consideration. But that is something new I learned: muscle definition helps. They didn't really explain anything else, which is disappointing to say the least. I was hoping to learn more about their guidelines and decision making process than that. I HAVE asked for further clarification into the decision making process, and if I receive any I will share it in another journal. But it took nearly a week to get this response so we'll see when and if that happens.
So what does this development mean? Ultimately, my plans remain unchanged except for the fact that I'm probably NOT going to have to delete anything from my gallery come July 1st. But this whole situation still makes me uneasy, as the only thing that made those pics alright was Avery not skipping leg day lmao. What if I spent a little less time detailing his legs? I'd have to delete those pics. This is shaky ground I stand on and I can't be worrying about stuff like this while I'm trying to make a living here.
I will definitely start posting on Weasyl again, and I will also be taking a look at SoFurry, Itaku, CoHost, and potentially Newgrounds as additional platforms to post on. I have prepared a Linktree page which will contain every site you'll be able to find my work. I am working on a centralized method for handling commissions, as I can't be checking a bunch of separate platforms for correspondence. A link to this will also be added to Linktree once in order. I will post my Linktree below and I will give further announcements as I decide on other platforms to add and once my new commission system is in place. Thank you for your patience in this trying time and hang in there everybody!

Too Short For FA, Leaving July 1st
Posted 2 years agoSo yeah. I wanted to wait until I heard back from someone on the support ticket I filed. Which was Friday afternoon, and I still haven't heard back from anyone. I've seen others with subject matter and characters close enough to mine being told that they're getting the axe so I think I should just take that as a sign. I am closing my queue to further commissions at this time. Once I finish the work I have slated I will be moving on. Where? I'm not sure yet. After FA, Twitter is the place I am most active but I loathe the idea of making that my primary platform. Twitter is awful for artists. I have accounts on Weasyl and Furry Network but I haven't touched them in years. Maybe it's time to check back in?
I am open to other site/application suggestions as well! I'm hoping to find something that will suit my needs better than FA ever has. This is an opportunity. Not a tragedy.
So what does this mean for my gallery? I will be deleting SOME of it at the end of June. Namely, anything remotely kinky involving Avery, Flint, Gimpy/Gimp Imps, Pokemon/Digimon or other similarly proportioned characters. My goal with this is to keep the rest of my gallery visible and avoid an outright ban. I've spent a lot of time here building up this page with you guys and that means more to me than some bitter jab at the current administration. If you still want to be able to view these pieces I would recommend going through my gallery and saving them before June 30th, because that's when I'm planning on cleaning house. If you have commissioned me for such a piece and have reposted it to your own gallery, this new policy might affect you as well and I would encourage you to file your own support ticket to ask about it if you don't want to delete it outright.
I will keep you all updated if the situation changes, but I don't expect it to. And even if it does, my trust in this site/its administration, which was already tenuous to begin with, has been sufficiently shaken to the point that my future here no longer feels secure. I deserve better than this. And frankly, so do you.
Here's a few links to spots where you will definitely be able to reach me and see my work, and I will make another journal once I have found another actual gallery site that suits my needs:

Commissions Open!
Posted 3 years agoOpen for commissions! Will be charging my usual hourly rate of $50 per hour! On average it takes 2-3 hours for a single character to be fully drawn, colored and shaded, depending on the character's design, pose complexity, etc. I'm not interested in taking on comic page commissions or large group projects at this time. I would prefer to focus on smaller pieces with a single character or two. (Possibly three.) I will likely close before my queue gets too long, so I can keep things manageable, then will open again once I thin out the list.
If you are interested, contact me via a note with the following info:
-Visual references for any characters you want to have drawn.
-A general description of what you want going on in the pic, including character poses, facial expressions, background elements, etc.
-A bullet point list (much like what I'm doing here) serves as a much better description than a paragraph of text. It helps me remember all the details you want.
-If you want any specific clothing or pieces of gear in your pic, visual references for these are also a big help to me.
-An email address I can send a PayPal invoice to once it's time for payment. (I can also handle payments via Zelle!)
-This last one is not necessary, but if you have either Telegram or Discord and would like faster communication regarding your commission, feel free to include your contact info there.
If you have any other questions, check out my FAQ journal HERE as your question might have been answered already! For any other questions, feel free to ask below!

AI Art Generators Are NOT the End.
Posted 3 years agoThere has been a LOT of alarmist thinking going around about AI art generation and I want to take a moment to talk about that and present my view on it. I DO NOT FEAR AI ART GENERATORS, and I don't think ANY artist should. That includes smaller artists and those who are just starting out and trying to make a name for themselves
AI art generation is essentially the industrialization of the art-making process, which is something that just about every other handicraft has gone through. But what happens when you industrialize a process? Let's start by looking at the printing press. Once it came about, books no longer had to be copied by hand! Books became much cheaper as a result, and were much more widely available to those who couldn't afford them before. That's fantastic!
Nowadays, almost everybody has access to a computer and a printer. You can type out and print whatever you want. And despite this, you know what is STILL around? Hand-written calligraphy. Even to this day, there are people who will HIRE somebody to handwrite fancy party invitations and the like. Because it is a LUXURY.
Let's compare it to something like candle or soap making. These are processes which have undergone industrialization a long time ago. But you still have tons of folks with shops on Etsy selling handmade candles and soaps. Which are considered LUXURY goods. Sewing, weaving, woodworking, you name it! Even after we have industrialized any given craft; the slower, less efficient 'handmade' process is still considered desirable as a luxury.
Do you know what AI art means for the fandom? Broke furries that can't afford commissions are gonna be able to make their own cool images of their sonas, develop reference sheets, icons, etc. on their own. I think that's great! AI art generation is only gonna be the end of artists if every single person out there suddenly decides they no longer want actual, hand-drawn, commissioned art.
Which is NEVER going to happen.

Spooktober Update
Posted 3 years agoHello hello! Just giving an update on the organization process for Spooktober. I have sent out invoices to everyone who has given me their info so far. If we've been talking about your idea, go check your email! If you were unsure how much time you'd need or want for your slot, I have held off on sending the invoice, and will do so once your pic is completed. I am still waiting on a response from some of you so please get back to me soon!
I will be finishing up a few things for Patreon, and then I will try to get started on Spooktober pics a few days in advance, so I won't be pressed on time for getting these up each day.
And as a reminder, I will be SUPER BUSY throughout October with this, so I will not be accepting other commissions until November. I will post a journal announcing when my queue is open, so keep an eye out!

Commissions Closed in Preparation for Spooktober!
Posted 3 years agoHello hello! As of now I will be closing my commission queue! If you have already been in touch and we were in the process of discussing a commission idea, do not fret, you will still be in my queue! I just will not be accepting any further inquiries as of this time.
For those of you who don't know, every October I challenge myself to post one black and white picture a day, with each one themed around a keyword I've assigned to each day. I offer these up as commission slots on a first-come-first serve basis. I will be posting my keyword list on September 15th, 8pm EST, along with the full details of pricing, how to claim slots, etc. If this is something you'd be interested in, keep an eye out on the 15th! Below I will also share several examples of entries from previous years:
Hedge - 2021
Beast - 2021
Warm-up Piece - 2021
Bones - 2020
Puppet - 2020
Wizard - 2019
Shadow - 2018

I will be posting my keyword list on September 15th, 8pm EST, along with the full details of pricing, how to claim slots, etc. If this is something you'd be interested in, keep an eye out on the 15th! Below I will also share several examples of entries from previous years:
Hedge - 2021
Beast - 2021
Warm-up Piece - 2021
Bones - 2020
Puppet - 2020
Wizard - 2019
Shadow - 2018
