So despite the fact that this has been the worst week of my life (financially speaking), I woke up today feeling the happiest I have in a long time. Why you may ask? Because I finally figured out the missing link I needed to start digital painting. I was reluctant to move on to digital art, because I couldn't figure out how to blend color as skillfully as I could with traditional mediums, such as paint or color pencil. Now, of course I've seen fantastic digital paintings all around the internet, so I knew it could be done, but I just couldn't figure out how to do it myself.

It was extremely discouraging.

But yesterday, while I was working on commissions,  dracojeff sent me a link to a few videos on digital painting. After I finished what I was working on, I sat down and watched them, and lo and behold, they showed me exactly what I missing: just one or two tiny settings that every other tutorial and instructional video I tried referencing failed to go over.

I will probably still use cell shading every now and then, but it's most likely that painting will become my preferred method of coloring from now on. We'll just see how it goes.

Didn't do too shabby for my first time selling, if I do say so myself. Got most of the work done at the convention itself so I don't have too much homework. Ho-snap I'm writing a journal! I've been meaning to get around to this for a while but I really shouldn't put this off any longer.

Anyway, put your initial shock and listen up. Not only will I be attending AnthroCon this year, but I shall also be sharing a table in the Dealer Room with mah bby  dracojeff We'll be located at table L09, so keep an eye out for us!

I'll be doing sketchbooks, taking commissions, and selling bookmarks, but my main focus will be on badges. I'm planing on offering three different styles of badges: those drawn in my typical style, Animal Crossing Badges, and Adventure Time badges. Examples of each will be popping up these next few days so keep an eye out for em.

My username, however, doesn't exactly roll off the tongue well. Most Latin never does, lol. For convenience's sake, I have made a secondary FA account to handle all of my convention work, be they commissions taken at conventions, signs, business cards, or little knickknacks I'll be selling at my table.

Regarding what I will and will not draw, I wish it was just as simple as saying 'nothing gross.' However on a site like this, what's gross and what's not GREATLY varies from person to person. I won't touch anything involving bodily waste. The very thought makes me shudder. No excessive mutilation. I'd be lying if I said I've never drawn a character looking rather battered, bloodied and abused, but so far I've avoided downright torture. I'd like to keep it that way. No infantilism. I think it's weird and I just don't get it.

On the subject of porn. I haven't really drawn 'porn' before. I can easily do pinup stuff and would have no problem doing so. I'm inclined to just say 'NO PORN D:<' but I'm broke, and shouldn't just turn prospective clients away like that. What I WILL say, is that if you DO feel the need to commission me for something porny, my adult anatomy isn't exactly up to scratch. Caveat Emptor, that is all.

Hello all, it's me again. I'm still kicking. I haven't been posting this past month but that doesn't mean I haven't been drawing. I just keep getting sidetracked from one pic to the next and as a result, haven't been finishing anything ^^;

Anywho, I should have some more stuff up in the next few days, including a few little character drawings, after which, I'll get up a journal with some commission info. Cash is rather tight for me right now, and I'm hoping that I might be able to make a little rent and grocery money that way. All that will be coming shortly, so keep an eye out.

And it feels fantastic. For about the first time in about two years, I feel my inspiration and initiative returning to me. I feel excited about art again. I'm getting new ideas again, and I don't intend on letting this pass me by. So hopefully I'll be able to keep a hold on this feeling. In which case, you all should be seeing a lot more of me around here.

Hello all! In my last journal which was sadly two months ago, I promised that I would be more active. I have not forgotten that promise. I have been working on a project here and there, it's just that the majority of my time is now being spent worrying about landing a new job. Until then, I can't promise any amount of consistency in my work, but I'll do what I can.

I plan to have a few new pics posted soon, and maybe even some fics. A lot of steam has been unexpectedly taken from my drawing engine and surprisingly went to boot up my writing engine, which has been dead for YEARS now. Whether it be a pic or a story, I'll have some stuff up here within a week, give or take, so keep an eye out.

It seems every time I ATTEMPT to make a dedication to something, life decides to take the fire out of my engine one way or the other. Anyways, the fire has ignited once again and hopefully it will burn a bit brighter this time.

I've got some line art that will be posted later this evening, and a colored version of the piece should follow in the next day or two. After that I'll likely be quiet again for at least a few weeks, as I'll be going across the country to spend the rest of June and half of July with my family.

I've mentioned before that I'd be getting into some commission work sometime soon. I'll probably set that up sometime soon after I get back from my trip. I won't be putting too much into it at first, as I'm hardly a well known entity on this site. I'll be starting with simple things such as icons, ref sheets and hand colored badges. When (or if) things gather some steam from there I'll expand my territory a bit.

I'm back! As you can see. And I've even posted something, hahaa! This won't just be a little blip of existence either. I plan on sticking around this time. Long story short, I'm now unemployed and frantically searching for a new job. While flooding businesses with applications I'll also be churning out more art as examples of my work, for I plan on starting up some commission work to bring in some cash during this dry spell. I'll be doing badges with colored pencil, small sketches, and maybe even some digital work IF I can get a feel for it.

In other news, I'll be pulling a fursona swap. Or rather, a fursona reversion. As much as I love the design of Rufus, I've figured out that Sasha just seemed like a better fit. I won't be getting rid of Rufus however. He'll drop to OC status and Sasha will retake his place on top.

But it's refreshing to be back, and you can expect to see a whole lot more stuff from me soon.

No, I'm not dead! I've just had quite a bit on my plate lately. I've got a new job so of course that's taking up a massive chunk of my time, and for those of you who don't know, my laptop recently died. Having to go through the motions of getting a credit card and shopping around for a new one extended my absence by a few weeks. But things are up and running again so hopefully you'll see something from me here in a few days.
