Hey all, I'm a little late but 2020 marks the year I hit over 250 watchers here on FA! I wanted to say thank you to everyone who's been with me for a while or even just a few days, it means a lot that ANYONE would follow me and my art c: I don't have much else to say other than thanks and I hope I can continue to post things people enjoy! I hope I can keep growing c:

Still really busy at work so apologies for the sporadic uploads and spams :c I'm trying to get better but it's just gonna be rough until the new year because work gets busy and also holiday stuff. I'm also playing a lot of Hyrule Warriors/Zelda lately so that's distracting me. I am still drawing/making/crafting/etc. but it's just harder to post more than once in a while right now. I'll be off (hopefully??) for three days this week (Christmas + the weekend) and the same next weekend for New Year's.


I won't be going anywhere or traveling obviously, but will be dropping off my dad's gift to him. Honestly after this week I'll be really exhausted lol. I'll be taking it easy and doing some stuff I enjoy. I actually really wanna shop and pick up some more blind boxes/gacha because that's one of my favorite things from cons c:


It feels really weird to not be prepping for a con right now. Since 2013, I've gone to Ichibancon every year for at least a day or two. Hell i've been going the whole weekend since 2016. Planning days, budgeting, picking cosplays, deciding what to bring/make for the craft fair and sell at the flea market... It's so weird not thinking about all that. I miss it. Ichibancon has been my "home con" for years and it feels so strange not to be doing anything this year. It's cancelled obviously, but I don't know if they're even looking into virtual events. I'm tempted to still maybe take off the original con weekend just to have a mini vacation to chill at home and draw, but who knows.


Uhhh this got a bit rambly, but eh. Just figured I should put up a journal and speak my thoughts a bit. I'm doing alright, just busy is all! I'm glad this year is almost over, it's been... a year lol. Year in summary I guess is as follows!


-I picked up a new hobby: resin working/crafting!

-I played some new games: Animal Crossing: New Horizons, No Straight Roads, Mario 3D Allstars, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, Pokemon Sword DLC

-I started expanding my enamel pin collection + joined a Patreon for pins

-I learned to animate simply motions/icons

-I started working on my fursuit head again + helping Zephur with his

-I started collecting blind box/gacha figures

-I built a Gundam, having never done it before

-I was unofficially, and then later officially, promoted to shift at work

-I got my car title moved to my name

-I started saving for a future trip to Japan + learning basic Japanese with Zephur


There's probably more, but this is a lot of the recent stuff/important stuff that sticks out. 2020 hit different and not in a good way, but at least it's almost over. I'm glad I got through all this. I'm glad I never lost my job or had hours cut or furloughed or whatever else could have happened. I'm glad Zephur was moved to working from home indefinitely. I'm glad he's moving up in his company; we both are. 2020 was a shitshow. The pandemic was/is/will continue to be a huge elephant in the room. Getting back to true normal will take time. But I'm still here. My family is safe. Zephur is safe.


2021 is a new year. Tomorrow is a new day. Things will change eventually, we just have to do it together c: Thank you to those who supported me (comments, faves, the rare commission or buying an adopt), it means the world to me to know that something I draw or make can make someone smile.

Short af update since FA doesn’t exactly have a smaller post option.

Work’s stupid busy before the holiday, i have things to post/make/draw/talk about but haven’t had the time or energy for it for a bit.

Not traveling (at least not anywhere big, just down the road ten minutes to see my dad) so i’ll be home for four days and that should give me some time to relax and decompress a bit. I wanna put up the Christmas stuff too, so i’ll try to at least put up a shot of the tree when it’s done c:

I can't remember the last time I posted a journal or much of an update, so here's a little something!


As with this time last year, the lab is getting really busy and I'm spending more and more time at work and obviously less time drawing/making things lately. I sometimes have time to sketch on the weekends but not always, and my energy levels are just drained most of the week. I feel bad for not having as much to post or having motivation to draw much besides personal art on occasion. I'm actually currently training a new guy to take over one of the main things I do, so I can do other things instead and hopefully take a bit of a break! So far, it's going pretty good!


Speaking of work, it's also possible that I get promoted/moved to a new department next year. I'd be becoming an analyst, moving up and out of prep lab and learning (relearning?) to read spectra from GC and MassSpec c: That won't/isn't happening til at least Q1, so about January/February, meaning I'll still be really really busy the end of this year. I've been feeling really creative lately, I have a lot of ideas and things I want to do, but just lack the time and energy during this part of the year! When work calms down a bit, I hope to get back to normal c:


Moving on to more art related things, I wanted to remind everyone that I do still take commissions! I am in fact open, despite my work keeping my weekdays very busy! I've always taken things for others (trades, comms, gifts, etc.) more seriously than personal stuff, so getting to draw for someone else would help give me a bit of a mental break ;w; plus I always like seeing how happy art makes people!

To my damn surprise, an April 26 delivery date became April 13, which actually ended up being about 6:30 YESTERDAY instead!

So I've been messing with it and learning and oh my god i fucking LOVE this thing! Solid tablet, has some weight to it, comes with a bunch of extra bits (several nibs, pen stand, tablet stand, etc.), and was super super easy to install drivers for! I didn't even have to restart my laptop for them to install fully! I've been practicing with it since last night and I'm very happy with how it's coming along c:

That being said, I wanna practice sketching on it! Those who've watched me for a while know that my usual way of drawing is to sketch traditionally and finish the sketch using my Wacom tablet. I've never been good at sketching on the Wacom, I've tried but it's always had a weird disconnect for me. But with a display, i can see exactly where I'm drawing (the parallax is thankfully super low/almost nonexistant in the drawing area) and I have more control. I did some practice sketches and drawings last night and I'm really happy with how they came out but more practice can't hurt!

When I DO finally get it, I'm probably gonna do something special like stream or free things or something while I learn (re-learn?) how to draw on a display c: I guess this is a bit of a happier bit of news to come out of the chaos the world's kinda gone to. I've wanted a real display tablet for a long time and now that I can finally afford it without being worried about other things, I figured now, when we're stuck inside, would be as good a time as any to take the time to figure it out c:

That's about all i have to say, not much has changed in my life otherwise. I'm still working, Zephur is too, he's also sadly not working from home because his company kinda sucks but eh. Can't be helped. Did find out that due to Covid-19, no one in my company will get any kind of raise for 2020 :C We were supposed to have reviews right before the plague came around, so now that business/clients have fallen off a lot, we can't afford to do raises :S I was a shoe-in for one too especially with what I've been doing. Hell I'm basically a shift lead rn lol Sucks but hey, at least i still have a job/stable income so I'm glad for that!

Hey all, wish I was writing this under better circumstances.

I live in a state/county which has been hit fast by rising cases of the virus. Last night there were ~70 as of about 10PM. This morning, it's sitting around 93 and rising. The county i work in alone has reported 14, maybe more at this point. The county has been considering a shelter in place order (full lockdown), though that hasn't happened yet. If it does, all nonessential businesses, travel, activity, etc. will be shut down. When they first brought this up, my coworkers and i thought that'd include us as well. We're not a medical lab or hospital or otherwise commonly-considered necessary in terms of the medical field. We thought if the shut down came, our location would be closed and we'd all be safe at home.

But a decision came through corporate yesterday: since we (as a company, not necessarily our location) test drinking water, we have been deemed a "government essential service" and must remain open. We have to stay open in the event of lockdown, albeit on staggered shifts to comply with social distancing guidelines. Me and two of my team will be moving to second shift starting today at 2PM and lasting indefinitely into the foreseeable future. I have to keep working, even with our clientele becoming less active as no one stays open or calls our field teams to collect soil or water samples.

Corporate also says that the only way you get any time off during this chaos is if you actually show symptoms, by which point you'll have already infected others. Not only that, but your supervisor has to interview you to decide if you actually have the virus or are just trying to go home. I have a lot more i could say about the way they're treating us and our wellbeing, but that's not something I want to start. All I'll say is that i fully agree with the stance a lot of people are taking, in that this disaster has brought light to ALL of the flawed/broken/corrupt bullshit that goes on in the US healthcare/employment sectors.

For now, I am fine. I've not been around anyone sketchy, work has us in PPE for normal work anyways (safety glasses, gloves, coats), and any of us are free to self quarantine (but we have to use up our sick/vacation time or risk not getting paid and losing a lot). Zephur is still reporting to work as well, but it's looking more likely that they'll be moving to remote work at some point soon. He's mentioned them looking at VPN services or company distributed work laptops. We are both actively avoiding any kind of interaction outside of work. Go to work, come home, stay at home, repeat. I keep an eye on local news as well as r/Coronavirus over on Reddit (a surprisingly good source for news from all over the world, highly recommend if you can't get on a news app or don't use cable) to monitor cases and nationwide stuff. We've got plenty of supplies/food, Ziva has cat food and litter, and we've almost accepted this new normal.

To anyone listening, be careful. Stay home. Stay away from others outside your household. Don't go anywhere unless absolutely, 100% necessary (not like we really can, with many places shutting borders). If you have kids/young family, there are tons of online learning resources, many local news stations or schools are posting them completely free. Many streaming services and other entertainment are offering special considerations or services. Play a videogame, draw something, pet your cat, just stay home and be safe.

Humans have come back from worse; we can get through this too.

Testing things and working on a ref/update for Jetstream!

Hi all! It’s been a bit, i admit a bit longer than first intended.

We’re finally all settled and moved in, still unpacking things here and there but mostly done. The essentials are settled at least, haha ;; clothes, kitchen, cat, etc. Ziva is settling in well too! She actually only hid a little the first day/night and started exploring that evening while we were unpacking things. We didn’t get internet and cable til literally last night, so i could only use my phone, but now that’s all fixed! My desk/work area is relatively fixed up, so i hope to be drawing and/or posting again soon c:

As stated in my last journal (i think at least, it's a blur tbh) Zephur and I are in the process of moving into our place (well at least a place that's not tied to either of our families, since technically though we've been living on our own, we've been in my dad's old place so his influence/control still abides til we leave)!

We go over this weekend to sign our lease, pay the remaining deposit, and do the run through inspection before my mom and stepdad come help us move stuff! We will not have internet for a while, Zephur is working on that bit because he can get it through work but needs to figure out what the complex will let us do or need to do. I can still check messages using my data on my phone but can't really post until we have things settled. Though we're starting the moving process this weekend, we're gonna be going back and forth between old and new for a bit since we won't have a bed there til the following week. So I'll be kinda absent for a bit trying to adjust to everything and unpack.

Also, I'm being put on first shift permanently at work in about the same time frame! So I'll be working M-F again during a usual business day, meaning I'll be back to being more active on weekends. Once we're all settled, I plan to get back to making things again since we're planning on setting up the spare bedroom as a hobby/craft room to have a dedicated space for fursuit making, sewing, painting, drawing, etc. I'm also going to be teaching Zephur a lot of things because he wants to start learning how to sew and make things as well!

Quick update because I've been bad about posting here lately!

The holidays are over, so no more obligations on that front. Christmas and New Years were nice. Spent Christmas with my family and my boyfriend; we had breakfast with my dad and exchanged gifts with that side, then drove up to do Christmas with my mom and stepdad and stayed with them for dinner c: I gave him Pokemon Shield (was supposed to be a birthday gift technically but we decided to just wait rather than try to send it) and a live steel dagger from RenFest; he gave me a pair of Pokemon figures that aren't made anymore (the Subway Masters figures, in case anyone's curious) and are super hard to find! He also gave me a Heist with Markiplier shirt c: I got some cute sweaters and such from my family and they even gave Zephur a few things too c: It was a nice holiday even though I only really had Christmas Day off from work!

I had New Years Day off as well, just the day itself, so didn't do much for that but we did just get to relax together which was nice! We played Heave Ho and Pokemon Sw/Sh when the wireless worked haha! Work also calmed down a lot so I've been able to work normal hours and only five days a week instead of six. Things have been better lately thankfully!

Next bit of news is that I'll be attending Ichibancon 2020 with Zephur and aeatcpp next weekend! Zephur and I are picking up our badges Friday night/evening and wandering the conspace then, and Amanda is joining us on Saturday/Sunday c: I'll be wearing a kigu on Friday night since it'll be after work, cosplaying as Subway Master Kudari on Saturday, and selling stuff in the flea market with Zephur on Sunday, likely wearing my Unnus Annus hoodie (memento mori)!

The biggest news: we got approved for an apartment so we're moving into that in like a month! That's the best i can really say for now but it's just what we wanted and we'll have a craft/hobby room so I'll have an actual workspace again! Zephur also wants to learn some stuff so i'll finally teach him too!

End of year is really busy at the lab with our clients all sending in annual stuff all at once, my boyfriend is going to be moving in with me in a little less than two weeks, and after that we're trying to find a place for ourselves so we can move out from my dad's place! Just checking in to let everyone know I'm doing alright, just a really REALLY busy time at work lately! I've actually been sketching and designing here and there in my free time, but haven't had time to actually finish sketches or post designs ;; But, I've got three days off this weekend while my schedule shifts over, so expect some activity then!

I'm officially starting on second shift (moving from first shift, what I've been working on since starting/while training) next week, meaning my days will run 2-11 rather than 8-5. I'm hoping to use the time before shifts in the morning to draw and work on other crafts and such, so I'll do my best to get my activity here a little bit more often. I hope to get back to drawing more often again c:

Short update real fast since I've been neglecting my online stuff lately.

I started a lab tech job yesterday and have been working all day so I don't get time to draw during the day, but I'm glad I finally got into a job in my field! It pays well for entry level, has medical and retirement benefits, and is very close to my home, so the commute isn't bad either! For safety's sake I won't mention the name, but just know that I'm happy with it so far! For the first few weeks while I'm training, I'll be working a normal Monday-Friday work week and have weekends off, so I'll still be able to draw then. However my boyfriend is coming to visit for a little over a week, so this weekend we'll be together and are heading out to the mountains to go hiking! The next week or so will be a little busy and might be pretty inactive here, but thank you all for sticking with me c': I hope to be able to keep making people happy with my work c:

I'm trying to gauge what people want to see/buy when it comes to art. I try to do some variety of themes and stuff for YCHs and character designs, but even then it doesn't always seem to get much attention. Is there something specific you guys wanna see? A certain theme or fanart or some type of design? Should I do more of one thing, less of another? Should I focus on designs or YCHs or advertise my standard commissions more (they're always open btw, I just don't advertise it much because I feel like it'd be spammy)?

What would you be interested in from me?
