TMI Tuesday
Posted 9 years agoCome one, come all. Welcome to my first ever TMI Tuesday the event where we can get to know each other better. Feel free to ask me or my characters just about anything.
I will answer personal questions at my own discretion. Now let's get started.
I will answer personal questions at my own discretion. Now let's get started.
Bck from the beach
Posted 9 years agoHi all, I hope everyone's doing well. I'm back. I'm feeling miserable and mute as expected though I had a great time and I'm going to do my best to get some art done and posted. Hopefully soon I'm planning to have a price sheet up for commissions among other things.
My time in Myrtle was just wonderful as usual. Mattie loved it too. We walked over 8 miles a day the entire week down there. We went to the board walk and ate at one of the best places in the area.
Located right in the back of the Gay Dolphin Arcade Abraham's Gyros. The owner is wonderful and has a wonderful selection of food. He has the best tasting funnel cakes I've ever eaten and they're actually more healthy than most funnel cakes the way he cooks them. He also has the best ice cream and some some of the best pizza I've eaten in the area.
We also spent quite a bit of our time at Broadway at the Beach. We always enjoy the atmosphere and many of the stores. One of my personal favorites is Broadway Magic. I've been going in that store every year since I was a toddler. I sure hope I can work there when I move down. I've become good friends with the owner he's even helped me learn a few card tricks this time around. I'm hardly ready for a show but, I'm getting better the more I practice.
This past time we also visited the Hard Rock Cafe a few more times than usual though when I think about the place now it's kinda bitter sweet and I'll get to that in a second. Celebrity Square and all the other parts of the place were really cool toward the evening. This was my first time going to Broadway at night in years. We played dragon golf and just walked around enjoying the atmosphere and watching the spring breakers have fun. Quite a few of them cracked me up with their antics like climbing onto the dinosaurs that the kids play on.
Now back to Hard Rock. The reason it's kinda bittersweet is I just found out. May will be my last birthday in the pyramid. Due to some problems with the foundation they are relocating the Hard Rock Cafe. That pyramid will be torn down. That building is just a year younger than I am there are so many memories there. When i was a toddler in the summer they'd do the YMCA and from what I'm told I even danced to it with my grandma. So many pictures have been taken in and around that building. So many things have happened.
About 5 years ago we were sitting in the Queen section by the News of the World album and a new waiter accidentally covered me with food.
The first summer I had Mattie we took a picture out front of the Hard Rock and she was making the funniest expressions when the picture was taken.
I've celebrated three birthdays there.
I feel like in a years time I'm going to have lost all my landmarks that have always said Myrtle Beach. Planet Hollywood went out in June. Now Hard Rock's pyramid. I hope they at least salvage one of the Sphinx's when they build the new building. I'm going to try and look at it positively but, I know I'm going to probably tear up a quite a few times when I think about it.
If you want to visit the Hard Rock Cafe's pyramid one last time you've got till June.
Any who I had a great time. I enjoyed every moment there. I'm going to miss Myrtle as I wait to go back down. Though in the mean time I'm going to do my best to have a wonderful time here in North Carolina. FWA'll be here sooner than I think anyways so I've got that to look forward to.
Also here's a reminder I'm having a badge sale with FWA pickup. Please spread the word I really want to at least have one commission before the con. This'll probably sound corny or like I'm begging but I don't mean to be. I just feel like if I were to get at least just one it would be a sign that I was going to have good luck for the con.
Speaking of FWA I should have the meme up soon and I am going to have at least one piece in the Art Show and I think I'm going to try for a table in Artist Alley. There I'll have some paracord lanyards and bracelets, some fursuit props, possibly some stickers and of course I'll be offering commissions. Though anything beyond pen or line art will not be completed prior to the end of the con. After that issue with my phone getting stolen last year I am not taking my computer to Atlanta.
One last thing I want to ask. How do y'all feel about me merging my NSFW and SFW galleries. The NSFW ones will always have a thumbnail warning though FA doesn't seem to really use the thumbnail for some reason. Should I post NSFW here or should I just keep it separate like I was initially planning. I'd love your thoughts.

My artwork was on Furmedia!
Posted 9 years agoHey everyone, I hope everyone's doing well. Right now I'm on my annual beach trip in Myrtle beach. It's been really wonderful for me, being able to breathe and just let the creativity flow. It's been really great oh how I can't wait till I can move down there.
Now for the subject of this journal. The other night my picture of Jackson 'My teddy's my guard' was on
FurMedia. Initially when I saw the submission to submit artwork I wasn't going to put one in and I was just going to let someone else have a chance but, I don't know something changed my mind...
I think part of the reason I decided to put something in was
TwilightSaint I'm a huge fan of them and their artwork.
I wish I'd of been able to of watched the stream live. So I might could of offered a bit more background on it beyond what I had put in the description.
Thank you
FurMedia and thank you
Twilightsaint for the kind words. It really thrilled me to find my piece made it onto the show. It was really nice to hear both your interpretations of it. Sniper seemed to hit the nail on the head of what I was trying to portray as well. Jackson looking into the shadows, hoping his teddy'll protect him from whatever monster might be hidden in them.
Here's the link to the video if your interested in checking out FurMedia's art extravaganza: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-DafD2kX0I
Also thank you to my new watchers and to those that have faved it as a result. Also thank you to those who have commented. It's always nice to get a kind word or two.
Now that's about all I have to say for the moment... Thank you.

Uber late update Jan/Feb also Open for Badge commissions
Posted 9 years agoHey all and welcome to another exciting update. Maybe exciting maybe not. Any who lets get to it. Also I want to say thank you to all my new watchers. I'd love to hear what brought you here.
My January started out really nice. I had a blast at Ichibancon with
Eddiebear While I didn't go to any panels I did have fun walking around and meeting new people and just hanging out. Mattie enjoyed herself too even though the building was a little too hot for her.
I also got to meet some nice artists in Artist Alley and get myself a nice set of goggles and a lovely picture of Takeshi.
One thing that happened to me that was kinda funny and definitely rememberable for me was while in Artist Alley I was browsing the tables and I ended up getting in a conversation with one of the GoH David Vincent. The funny thing is I didn't even know who he was at first. Though it was really nice we got to talk about voice acting and yeah it was great.
The rest of the month started out really nice too. I got really inspired and got semi caught up on artwork. I still have a ways to go but, I was feeling good for a while there.
We also went to see The Forest. I enjoyed that movie so much we went a second time. I love how they played with the atmosphere. Making the 'scares' come more from the paranoia of the forest and the thought of potentially seeing a yurei in the Aokigahara Forest. I also loved learning a bit about the history of the forest. I recommend seeing it especially in theaters if possible. The feeling will not be the same on a computer or tv screen.
Later on in the month when it snowed that was a lot of fun Fursuiting in the snow's a blast! Though when is playing in the snow not fun in general. Mattie loved it too. Every time she went out she couldn't help but play in the snow.
Now for February. It didn't really go as well as I would of liked at the start of the month. I got hit with my first debilitating migraine of the year. It literally left me bed ridden for a little more than two weeks straight. It's still kinda here. The mold in the basement certainly not helping. Thank you pipe! *sigh*
I'm still feeling it but, I am well enough to start doing stuff again. Though I'm trying to take it easy. I'm at the same time wanting to do a lot. I'm hoping to at least get a few pieces out of the way and posted soon.
During that same mess my mom also had surgery. It wasn't anything major. She's been making a speedy recovery.
Outside of health related issues we also had our computer monitor on our desktop go out unexpectedly.
On another note I did get to see Kung Fu Panda 3 the other day. I really enjoyed it especially the music. Kai has one of the coolest themes Hans Zimmer really did a wonderful job on the soundtrack. I also enjoyed the story and animation. It was a very beautiful movie. It made me kinda want to do a Kung Fu Panda Cosplay of one of the characters. Possibly Kai or Shifu
Now we're looking forward to our annual beach trip next month so I can officially get over this migraine and just the allergy misery for a while. Hopefully I can get my marionette done in time. A friend of mine that runs a magic shop is really looking forward to seeing it.
Art related
Now for the art related stuff. I'm going to try and get myself on a posting schedule of Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. I don't know how well it'll work though it's worth a shot.
Also if you want to get status updates on me more frequently I've started using Twitter a lot more often than I initially was. You'll be able to get WIPs status updates etc.
Right now to try and save some money I'm offering Badges for around $8.00s.
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/19180641/
Right now I have about 4 slots open for the first batch I may accept more if there's a big interest though we'll just see how it goes.
I'm also offering experimental themed badges for FWA and Anthrocon. Those that want it printed and shipped also get a lanyard in the color of their choice.

Now that my updates for the most part are all done I wish you a nice day. I hope things are going well for you.
Oh one last question for any artist with a Deviant Art premium account is it worth the money? I've been thinking about it given I could get that backlog of art I have uploaded a lot faster but, I'd still like to hear some opinions on it before I go for it.

Happy New Year! May there be many more
Posted 10 years agoHello everyone, I hope everyone's had a happy new years eve and a happy new year so far. Mine's been nice so far. Earlier today we went to see Alvin and the Chipmunks and that was a just wonderful. It was full of laughs.
I'm looking forward to bringing in the new year and going to Ichibancon this Saturday. It'll be my first time there but, I'm sure it'll be a blast especially since I'll get to hang out with my friend
Eddiebear
I hope everyone also had a great Christmas as well. Mine went a lot better this year. At least it felt like it. I actually enjoyed hanging out with family. Everyone seemed to love my presents I made them too though I still have a few I have to finish for my youngest cousins because my sewing machine decided it was too dusty to want to work properly. Though I'm sure they'll like a late present just as much. Especially since they're at that age where presents are presents. Soon I'll get some pics of them and post them to share though I've got a preview in my Art summary.
Oh by the way I got my computer back sooner than I expected though I had to wait a few days for holiday traffic to ease off before I went to the apple store. Any who now it's back and now I can get back to work on digital art and more.
Now for what we've all been waiting for my New Years resolutions.
-Become more serious and professional with artwork and commissions as a whole. (While I have been taking it all pretty seriously I feel like I can do better.)
-Finish and perform Ernest at a con.
-Go to at least one more con this year than I had gone last year.
-Finish Takeshi's suit revisions and just do more fursuit projects
-Complete a minimum of one piece a month though hopefully more. While this is kinda a repeat of last year I feel like this year I kinda cheated it even though I didn't I just feel like November and December I just let myself down. it's a good thing I wasn't specific though lol but yeah Putting this one up again)
-Do artist alley at least once
-Increase heat tolerance, fursuit more and try to make it to more furmeets.
-Get in better shape and try to deal with my mold allergy
-Find a fake electric guitar for Ernest
-try to get and keep all art sites updated
-try to be more active and interact more with my watchers
What are your new years resolutions? How was your Christmas/ Holiday?
Happy New Year everyone and may there be many more.

I think I p'd off a gypsy...(Art Notice)
Posted 10 years agoI swear this has been what feels like a year of the worst luck I've ever had. Or at least the worst four months of bad luck I've ever had. It's been one thing after another. Shipping problems, migraines among other illnesses and injuries. Now my computer again!
Yes folks my computer is out of commission once more it seems the logic board has gone out again for some strange reason it's going to be shipped off so whatever is wrong with it will hopefully be fixed.
So it's very likely I won't be posting any digital art for a while and probably nothing high quality given I usualy put even scanned sketches through photoshop
Now I hope everyone has a happy holiday season. I'm looking forward to going to see It's a wonderful life tomorrow night and then continuing my mom and mine's Christmas Eve tradition of watching Yours, Mine and Ours(1968) So what holiday are you celebrating and what are your plans for it. I'd love to hear what my watchers are doing around this time of year.
Merry Chrishaunikamas and a happy Rama-Kwaanza-Dan (free art to whoever can name the reference)

Early December update also Christmas wishlist(updated)
Posted 10 years agoHi all, This is a bit earlier than my usual update but, I've got some nice news.
I hope everyone had a nice thanksgiving or a nice day for those of you that it's just a regular day. Also I hope those that dared to brave the mayhem of Black Friday were safe doing it. I avoid that at all costs personally It's just not worth the deals aside from that people are just nuts. I almost got ran over in a dollar store a few years ago no deal is that good that your knocking someone over in a dollar store. Enough about my dislike for the weekend my thanksgiving went fair. I was pretty much sick the entire day though so I wouldn't say I necessarily enjoyed it though the Macy's parade was nice to watch.
A couple days ago I also got to help my cousins celebrate their birthdays. They all seemed to have a nice time and enjoy there presents.
Yesterday was Mattie's birthday she's officially 4 years old. To celebrate she got a nice birdy in a bag from Chick-fi-la. She also got a nice green stuffed hippo toy that she adores and has been playing with almost nonstop.
We've also gone to see our first Christmas movie of the month in theaters. We went to the Movie Tavern and saw Christmas Story and laughed and enjoyed it as usual. Mattie was watching it along with us the entire time. I never get tired of seeing that movie on the big screen. The only thing about this tradition that we could live about though is it has rained the night we've gone to see Christmas Story every time for the past 3 years. Oh well.
Tomorrow I'm looking forward to seeing the Krampus. It'll be nice to see what they do with the legend and I bet the makeup on the creature will be fun to see.
Important Note for those I owe art I hate to say it but, I have to take a break for at least another couple of days. I was working so hard on artwork the past couple weeks that I over did it and hurt my wrist somehow. I can't draw, can't sew. I can barely even hold a drink in my right hand. I have gotten a brace for it and have been resting it since it started. The brace helping a bit. Hopefully soon it'll get to feeling better if not I'm planning to talk to a doctor about it Monday.
I'm hoping soon I'll be able to get back to work. It'll be nice to get back to drawing and sewing again. Especially since I still need to complete my younger cousins's christmas presents in time. Thank you for being patient with me.
Now speaking of Christmas. Here's my little Christmas wishlist. (get me any of these and your guaranteed a huge thank you and possibly something in return.
-3 yards Brown faux fur - https://www.fabric.com/buy/bu-292/f.....ury-shag-brown
-A badge for Takeshi
-1 yard of black fur
-brown and or black millinery hoods http://www.hatsupply.com/woolfelts.htm
-Watercolor picture of Takeshi being surrounded and annoyed by minions
-A Christmas themed pic of Jackson or maybe one of him as a cub wearing a batman costume
-a custom kigirumi of Itkis from Ah! Real Monsters

November update Extremely Good News!
Posted 10 years agoHey all, I hope everyone's doing well. I'm starting to. My month started out pretty crummy and my mood has been less happy than I would of liked. Though it's definitely steadily turning around.
I've gotta say probably one of the biggest boosts for me was that I got to go to my first furmeet in a long while. It was great to see everyone and go suiting around. It was the best Thanksgiving celebration I've had in the last 2 years. I can't wait to go to the next one and just to future meets in general.
I really had a blast especially after I was able to get in character.
The great day made it easier for me to get motivated to get back to work and get some stuff done. While it's still been a struggle in a lot of ways I definitely had a chance to make some progress.
Now for the really good news. Today I went to the Allergy doctor to get a allergy test. Before you all start panicking No i'm not allergic to dogs. Mattie is safe.
The results actually are kinda a good news bad news type thing. The good news is the only thing I was allergic to was mold. The bad news, theres no major treatments for it and it's a pretty severe. Here's why I feel the news is incredibly positive.
In around September from the time I was around 10 years old I have had these frighteningly severe migraines that couldn't really be treated. Nothing did any good aside from sleep in a dark quiet place. It wasn't till the end of my junior year in high school that I finally after going to doctor after doctor for help;got a treatment for them that partially worked. Though we still didn't know why.
To make it even more interesting. The moment I enter South Carolina the migraines and other things would ease off.
Here's the interesting thing around that time of year is when all the mold comes out. Rotting leaves, tree mold, mushrooms, other fungi, etc.
Also to make it make even more since. My uncle is a tree surgeon and he dumps all his cut down trees and mulch in our backyard.
So combine that with all that occurs naturally outside not even counting indoor factors. It equaled horrible migraines that lasted literally months at a time.
It's such a relief to finally know what it was that's just made me so miserable all these years. Finally that entity has a name. I'm no longer wondering quite as much what's wrong with me. That's one more piece to the puzzle.
Now all I have to do is follow doctor Van Winkle's(yes that's his real last name) suggestions and I'll at least be able to control inside and cope with the outside mold that strikes twice a year with the help of my new allergy meds and avoiding rolling in the leaves.
As for Thanksgiving I hope everyone has a wonderful thanksgiving. We all have something in out lives to be thankful for.

You know those times where nothing seems to go right?
Posted 10 years agohi all,
As you all can tell by the title I've had a bit of a rough time lately.
It probably all started back in the first week of my class. I was really feeling like everything was against me. All sorts of things in my life felt as if they were falling apart or just plain going wrong. At first the class seemed like it was going well I had all these ideas and was a step ahead of some of my classmates with ideas and a blueprint up and ready. Though my confidence with making it to the deadline began to fade.
For the first time ever I had problems ordering and receiving items in the mail. The mail men bent and broke things. I could only sculpt the head of my marionette in the time I was waiting. Though I did get to dye some fur. Though every step of the way for the project was a uphill battle really I had never had this much of a challenge that I can remember in my life.
During the time I was waiting for supplies to arrive we went on a sort of supply run to Myrtle Beach.(ok technically it was preplanned before I signed up for the class) While down we did find a few things though I swear for the life of me I couldn't find something that would work as a guitar for Ernest. I couldn't even find a Ukelele. I think that if I'd of been in Nashville at the time I wouldn't of been able to find a single guitar. Then I found out Planet Hollywood closed down.
Though even with problems I had while there it was some much needed R&R I got to see Ray Stevens live and get inspired by his performance and music and just laugh my head off. The shriners were down too. Then I also got to hang out a bit with my friend at Broadway Magic. He's looking forward to seeing Ernest next time I'm down.
Once back home I lost my voice completely and just narrowly got my voice back in time for my class's google plus session. I was talking like Ernest but, at least my voice held out and the class once again was fun and put me in a positive mood. For the next several days I worked feverishly unfortunately right when I was going to mold things it turned abnormally freezing. That hurricane couldn't of hit the coast at worser time. I owe the lost time primarily to that why I didn't get as far as I should have been.
I couldn't even get that foam that comes in a can to set up right. I made 6 duct tape molds and none of them came out.
Finally we went and bought a space heater cause we knew that I wouldn't have anything if we didn't get the temps up in the house though those warm days we had there did help with some of the castings. I was able to make the molds and do the first pull with a foot and head.
Though the heater was definitely my hero in a lot of days. in the last 14 hours or so before the deadline I cast the foam body, assembled it. Put the mechanics in the head, cut the controller and apoxy'd the crap out of it. Though I couldn't make it in time for the deadline. I worked every moment up to 3 am with an exception of a eating break or two that was only a few minutes. When I finally thought I was going to make it and perform it for the camera it BROKE! The head was all ready to put on the body and prep to string when everything went to heck the eyes fell out, springs detached, ears fell over. Everything but the resin head itself fell apart.
So deadline didn't happen I'm still working on stringing it due to all the problems. Not even counting the virus I came down with. It seemed to stick around for a bit there. Though I didn't get the worst of it till halloween. The virus worked it's way into my right ear I found out today. Then it also caused this horrible drainage that doesn't let me sleep or even lay down properly. I guess it's a good thing I couldn't make it to Fangcon afterall. I probably would of been miserable. Cause I was feeling like my head was going to explode on Halloween night.
I didn't even get dressed in my fursuit. Though we didn't really do as much as I would of liked for the holiday unfortunately. It and the mess my grandmother made in my work room trying to clean it up stressed me out so badly it probably made everything worse.
I feel like my mood's been on the thunderroad roller coaster. Its just been up and down lately. Though I feel positive that things'll get better even if iI have to go through a few more rough patches to get there. I just hope my luck starts getting better sooner rather than later.
I sure hope I can make it to a meet in the near future. I feel like that'd help.
On a more positive note. Now here's some of the good things that I've done recently. I got to go to the theater to see Dracula(1931) It was a double feature so I also got to see the Spanish version. They are both worth seeing even if you don't know a word of Spanish. Despite them being the same story the Spanish version was very innovative. There were camera angles I hadn't seen in the 30s that were in it. While the Dracula was hard not to laugh at compared to Bela it had a lot of segments where I felt the scene went better than in Browning's film.
Later on I also got to go see Halloween (1978) on the big screen too introduced by John Carpenter. It was great. I learned some things about Carpenter I didn't know. Halloween was as good as always. There's nothing like watching that movie how it was meant to be seen. I can't wait to see it again next year or better yet Home Alone the 8th
I was also able to get my fursuit head pretty much paid off as well.
As for commissions and just artwork in general. I'm steadily getting back to work though the lack of sleep's really been taking a tole on me. I haven't been able to focus too well and I've noticed how my quality starts to suffer when I'm tired.
I now have a Trello Its far from completely updated given I haven't had it long but it does show what's currently underway and what stage your piece is in.
How did everyone's holiday go?
For those of you who went how was Fangcon?
Also does anyone know where i can find a child size electric guitar. It doesn't have to work or even be real.It could be wall art for all I care. It just needs to look real and preferably be hollow on the inside.
Now I think I'm going to try and relax and get some sleep hopefully

Fangcon No Go
Posted 10 years agoI had a feeling that this was going to happen. I tried my hardest to try and rig it but, it just wasn't meant to be this time. We just have no way of getting there this year. Though we're certain we'll get there next year. So everyone going to Fangcon I wish you the best time. I look forward to hearing about how it goes.
Don't worry about me I'm sure I'll be able to keep myself entertained. I've had this idea in my mind of going trick-or-treating for Unicef in suit for a while now I might do that if I don't go to Oktoberfest or something else entirely.
In other news my marionette class is going well Scott Land's a great teacher and even more fun to talk to. He really knows what he's talking about and knows how to make you feel at home. I sure hope one day I can meet him face to face.
I'm kinda stressing a bit I won't lie though I'm enjoying it. I may have something to show you all soon if I find the time. Either way you'll see it finished. That I can guarantee.
One question can y'all recommend some songs to me that deal with acoustic guitar?

Heads up for the month (Starting tomorrow)
Posted 10 years agoHi all, I hope everyone's September is going well so far. Happy National dog week. Now for the reason for this journal. I probably won't be on or posting much this month as of Saturday.
This Saturday I'm starting a marionette building and performing webcourse with the skilled and talented Scott Land. During the month we'll be (from what I can tell so far) cramming around 4 months of work into a month's time. I'm really looking forward to it. I'm feeling just as excited as I am nervous about the class.
This is mostly just a heads up on why I won't be very active. I'm going to be incredibly busy since I really want to get a Certificate of Mastery out of it and make something I can be proud of.
Also I'm selling my necomimi headset - http://www.thedealersden.com/auctio.....tion_id=119420

Can someone recommend me a good watercolor artist?
Posted 10 years agoHi all,
The other day I got this hilarious idea for a painting and I was thinking sometime down the road I might commission someone to bring it to life in water color. While I've worked with the medium before I don't feel confident enough in my ability to bring it to life and not mess it up.
So does anyone know any great watercolor artists?

July/part of Aug update/ Questions updated
Posted 10 years agoHey all, I hope everyone's doing well. I'm doing pretty good. Soon I look forward to posting some of what I've been working on to my gallery as soon as I get some good pictures.
Now let's get to the purpose of the journal.
July
My July went fair. Not entirely as well as I had hoped though it wasn't bad.
During the month I competed in Camp NaNoWrimo. For those of you that don't know what it is, Camp Nano is a sort of challenge. If you've heard of National Novel Writing Month. It follows the same principal. Except instead of writing a 50k word novel, you have some flexibility you set your word count goal; You don't even have to write a novel. Also it's not in November. (From what I understand Camp has a June,July and August session but don't quote me on it)The major rule is you have to force yourself to write almost every day of the month so you can reach your goal and potentially have something to show for at the end of the month but also have fun.
During camp I took the chance to get some more pages written up in the script on Comic Jumper so I can start posting pages again. I've been thinking I'm going to revise the type in the pages soon. Since it's not very clear in some of the early pages prior to me switching my type to illustrator.
In addition to that I also worked on artwork or at least tried to. It felt like a bit of a uphill battle for a good part of the month for some reason. Though I did get some good things done. One of them being related to my suit.
Takeshi- My suit of Takeshi is closer to a completed state. Now it's far enough along I can actually wear it to meets and feel proud of it. Though theres still a bit to go and Takeshi definitely has some quirks I need to work out when I have the funds for future updates. When I post photos of him I'll share some of the planned updates on it.
During the month I was plagued with a lot of migraines and this weird thing with my neck that caused it to put me into some horrendous pain. (Though that's been semi-alleviated) I just hate the amount of time I lost on artwork and everything.
Toward the end of the month I got to do some things that I found I guess you could say rewarding. One I got to go to this place called 'Movie Tavern' for the first time to see JAWS(1975). That was amazing! The way it's set up you get the sort of VIP experience. I felt like I was a crew member at the premiere of the film. Theres trays that you can get food served on and by pressing a button you have someone waiting on you. It was really cool. The movie was even better! There were some scenes I'd never seen before as well as some details on the shark I've never seen before. Like on the shark's eyes you could actually see the detail that was on them and that they were resin. It was just a great time. Though I think I'll save the Movie Tavern for special occasions it's not the cheapest.
Another thing I got to do toward the end was enter this competition. The Stan Winston School of Character Arts was holding a Robot Art themed contest in honor of Terminator Genisys. I didn't win but it did give me the chance to try out a new technique I had learned from one of their web courses during the month. To see my entry click here
My thoughts on the month. Overall it was pretty decent. Mattie had a good month too; she and I got to connect a bit and play around off leash outside our house for quite a bit.
August So Far
So far the month's gone pretty good. I've been getting back to work on Artwork and of course working further on the revisions of my Takeshi suit. The body suit looks 10 times better now than in that pic I posted back in July to show the new head off. Hopefully I'll have some pics of it up soon. I sure hope I get some pics taken at the bowling meet this Saturday.
Anywho, another good moment so far is I got to go see the Wizard of Oz at the Movie Tavern. If you haven't seen that movie on the big screen you really should at some point. I still can't believe how impressed I was by that movie. The scarecrow and really all of them their make ups were so incredible for the time. They blent the prosthetics so well you can't tell where the scarecrow's burlap hood starts and his face begins. They even had the texture on his face! Aside form that there were some things I've never seen before on it both with footage and just overall details. I even saw the scene that's been a bit urban legend for the movie. All I'm going to say on the subject though is I don't think that was a ostrich back there.
I expect to have some commissions uploaded soon. I've been working hard on them.
Also I will be listing some paracord bracelets and keychains among other items for sale as soon as tonight. The funds will be going toward my Fangcon fund.I've been trying really hard to get things worked out where I can go this year. At this point my biggest concern is primarily transportation. I sure hope I can get things worked out.
Also I have a bracelet that's State's colors I'm going to be uploading a picture of soon. If your interested in buying it or commissioning me for a similar one I'm planning on going to the Triangle Furries Furbowl in Cary this Saturday so if you contact me by Friday I can bring it to you at the Meet NC furs.
The bracelet I'm going to be posting pics of that's up for sale is a little under 9in and should fit most wrists. It costs only $6.00s
If you'd like to commission me note me with this information.
Rough wrist measurement (don't make it tight. If you want it to be able to be worn with your suit measure around your wrist with the handpaw on.)
Colors:and how many (I have red, blue, black, white, light blue and orange. At the moment I can do up to 3)
Slots: (Up to 4)
Today or technically yesterday seeing as it's midnight as I write this. I got to meet up with a good friend
iamkodastorm today in Concord. It was nice catching up and just hanging out for the first time since FWA. We also got to go see Terminator Genisys and that was great. I was impressed by how they did the move and how good the new Sarah, Kyle and John were. I highly recommend going to see it. In a way it's kinda like Jurassic World. It's both a sequel and a kind of stand alone movie.
The only thing that happened to me today that wasn't exactly good that's left me a little sore and in need of going back to my Chiropractor this week is. Someone spilled some water on the ground and you couldn't even see it and I found it. Landing right on my back. Luckily nothing serious happened the worst I should have is some minor bruising, some soreness for a few days and the need to get popped again.

Questions
Now for the questions. Most of them are geared toward artists and fursuit though I'm sure that artists aren't necessarily the only ones that can answer my questions.
-I'm in the process of planning another suit project and I was thinking of doing some padded paws and I was wondering which one gives you more pose ability and comfort foam or stuffing padded paws?
-When making your to's is there something you consulted? How'd you figure what to put in them?
-I'm having trouble with proportions on a drawing right now and I was wondering if someone could look it over and see if they can offer me some help with fixing it?
I swear I had more questions but I can't remember them right now. Eh I'll either edit this or save it for the next journal if necessarily.
Here's a update on my fall. Due to that fall I can't bowl this Saturday though at least my chiropractor didn't tell me I couldn't suit. So I still look forward to the meet. He made me feel better today though he thinks we may have to do some twice a week visits if things don't stay feeling good by tuesday
Overall though it was a good fun day

Awesome raffle on Weasyl (FREE FURSUIT HEAD)
Posted 10 years agoHi, all first I'd like to say I hope you all had a nice 4th whether you celebrated or not. Mine went pretty nice. Though due to neck problems it wasn't exactly the best. Though I'm doing a lot better now and art should continue.
Now for the subject of the journal.
Wahaneta one of my favorite costume artists is hosting a fursuit head raffle over on Weasyl. I'm also a contributor in it. Feel free to join in and enter. https://www.weasyl.com/journal/8933.....-head-and-more
As for me and where I stand on the Weasyl migration. I'm not planning on leaving FA any time soon especially since all my friends are here. Though I'm going to try and keep my galleries on other sites updated.

No more Adult Ads. Petition
Posted 10 years agoIt's ridiculous to be running into those ads on the site SFW filter on or off. It could give people some bad ideas and hurt many artist's business. Aside from that what if someone underage is on the site. That's the last thing that needs to be seen. Plus I keep accidentally clicking on the new ad location. It's a matter of time before I click on one of them by accident and I don't want a virus whether it carries one or not.

Life updates
Posted 10 years agoSince I haven't done a journal since April I thought I'd give a update on how my May went and yeah.
May went pretty well for us. We went down to Myrtle beach for my birthday and had a fun time. Though a tropical storm hit while we were down there so we only got like two sunny days though quite a few calm evenings.
Mattie really enjoyed the ducks, pigeons and bigmouth bass out at broadway at the beach as usual. We having had jokingly named one of them Elroy from when we were down there back in March. After one of them distracted Mattie to the point I smacked into a pole pretty hard. Luckily this time she dodged them all.
We went to see Home. That was a really great hilarious movie. If you haven't seen it and you need a good laugh you should go see it. I hadn't laughed so hard in a long time. The movie makes more since than the trailers they've been showing too.
Overall it was a nice week and it did inspire a new character as well as a chance to see what I've learned from that Stan Winston webinar I got to participate in back in April. I'll keep you all updated as I build the character and test it out.
As for my suit status. My Takeshi mask remake is almost done. I ended up having to repattern it before I cut too much more than the face cut out. I started kicking myself for making his markings a bit intricate for . Though I should have the mask finished soon minus the teeth. I'm thinking of sculpting a set and casting a set when I get the supplies for that hyena jawset I'm doing for my Okto suit. r
Overall May went pretty well migraines and allergies being the worst part of it.
So far this month's had a I wouldn't say it's been a bad start but it's been a kinda rocky start. We had to put Josie down this week. While we're relieved since she is no longer suffering it was still hard. Especially the last couple of days. Mattie's been looking for her when she goes outside. We've been trying to figure how to tell her.
We'll definitely miss Josie though we'll always have our memories of her.
On a more positive point I've been getting back to work on artwork so hopefully most of the artwork I owe will be completed and posted soon.
This week I've gotten to see two awesome movies as well.
Insidious Chapter 3. It was a really great movie a great installment to the series and in my opinion one of the best ones yet. The effects, the story, the acting it was all great. It was very suspenseful as well. I love the makeup on the demon. It was creepy and very well done they put a lot of effort into putting detail into the sculpt as well as when they painted the appliances.
Jurassic World. I got to go and see the first showing of the night. My only complaint of the night being I hadn't waited to be seated as long as I had since Digimon came out in 2000. It literally took right up till the time the movie was supposed to start for them to seat us. Though it was worth the wait. It was really awesome. It's great for a sequel or a stand alone movie. They really stepped it up with the effects on the dinosaurs and everything. Then the story was really well done. They even managed to tie it into the previous films pretty well. I think they did Stan Winston proud on this one. Another thing that really impressed me aside form how they stepped up the effects is they managed to keep some of the original humor of the first film. That's such a rarity with sequels. For me that was just another point that made it incredible. I highly recommend going to see it. It's worth seeing on the big screen. The film went through a decade of challenges to finally get here. I think i might go see it again before long I liked it so much.
Mattie even liked it she sat up and watched the climax of the film.
Those two movies were great for cheering me up. I've always found movies to be very therapeutic for me over the years. It was nice to just escape into the movies for a while. I'm definitely looking forward to the next time I go to the movies I just hope that the next time won't be because I need cheering up.

Bad News
Posted 10 years agoToday my 12 year old lab/Dalmatian mix Josie was diagnosed with cancer. Sadly theres not much we can do other than make the time she has left comfortable.
She's been a incredible dog. I can't say how much I'll miss her when she's gone. I'm just glad I've gotten to have as much time with her as I've had.

Back home FWA recap
Posted 10 years agoHi all, hope everyone's well and everyone that was at FWA had a safe trip.
My buddy
botter,my mom, Mattie and I went down early Thursday and had a fairly decent ride down to Atlanta the only major traffic we ran into was actually at the Marriott. Though once we got in there things were nice. That place was SO HUGE! I guess I kinda just gave away I'm a country girl but. yeah. I never saw a place so big. Though it kinda gave me a bit of vertigo especially when I road the elevators.
The entire con was just incredible I'm glad I went. I got to meet so many great artists and just amazing people in general. I got to know quite a few people and I hope to keep in touch with them.
I really enjoyed the panels and workshops I got to go to. They were both fun and interesting. I got to make a nice collar, some chainmaille and some nice toony paws. I'm planning to post pics of them later on when I can get a chance.
I managed to finish my suit in time for the con. There were a few pieces I had to finish up in the room but that wasn't a big deal. It was so warm down there that I honestly had to take some time to get used to it before I suited.
I really wasn't too satisfied with the furring job on the mask though it wasn't too bad considering I finished it in the last 24 hours before the con. It's going through a total re-fur this week. This time on a
dreamvisioncreations fox blank. I think on that one I should have better vision and ventilation along with a better moving jaw. My moving jaw didn't work too well on the initial mask The springs were a touch too strong. Though I'd hardly say my mask was a total failure though I wasn't satisfied with how it came out. I appreciate the kind words I received from everyone that saw my mask and my suit in general.
Suiting was a lot of fun. As well as a bit of a challenge though I was happy to find that I was able to suit quite a bit longer than I had been in the past with my Boxer partial. That was without the fan I bought too. I'm looking forward to suiting more in the near future. :)
While down there in Atlanta I had what could be considered a miracle happen to me. I hope that reading this gives you a bit to think about when it comes to electronic devices. After the fursuit parade I headed over to the headless lounge a bit late to get one of the cups they handed out. Partially cause I had to drop out of the parade because of those darn escalators and getting over there was quite the task. Anyways after checking something on my phone instead of placing it back in my footpaw I put it in my fursuit head since I was just carrying it around at the time and I was heading straight up to the room after stopping by the con store where I was told to go.
I don't know exactly how it happened but, based on evidence and what I could gather... While I was in the con store I sat my head down on the table for less than a minute and somebody that I think worked at the Marriott went over and snatched my phone out of my head. After we got back to the room and realized it we looked everywhere and immediately turned on the 'Track my iPhone' app and alerted both FWA security and motel security that my phone was missing. At the time we thought that I just dropped it somehow and someone walked with it. Though I think that was a little less than true. On the app my mom and the Atlanta policeman that was standing with us watched as the guy took my phone to the pawn shop district where the iPhones are usually sold. I thought my phone was long gone I really did especially since I had a classmate that got robbed for their phone last year in Atlanta. My mom immediately set the app to automatic ring or something like that I don't remember exactly what she called it but, it didn't give the guy any peace. We were sitting there in the lobby and I was trying to get myself together while talking to a friend when suddenly the guy called her. The Atlanta cop stayed with us figuring the guy was going to try and sell it back to us when he said he was coming. When the guy arrived he gave us a story about putting it in his locker though that seems very unlikely since he was tracked 3 blocks over. I'm relieved to say I got my phone back though. The cop said I was the only one he'd ever seen get their phone back before. I feel very blessed to have gotten it back and believe me it's never leaving my sight again.
Some of the evidence that made me realize it was more than just dropped and grabbed was that there were tool marks all over my case and the rubber bumper was completely gone and it was in pretty rough shape. Though they never got to my phone from what I can tell. Before I didn't like that case now I am glad that I had that stubborn tactical phone case. I owe it my phone's safety in a way.
With that I give some advice to prevent the worse from happening no matter where. I'm sure Atlanta isn't the only place that phones are stolen and pawned. This could go for any electronic device though. Don't put it anywhere out of your sight. Try to store your valuables somewhere where someone'd have to knock you over to get it. Even if your expecting a text don't leave it on the table and expect it to be there when you look back cause one time it just might not be there.
Other than that little speed bump though I had a just incredible time. I can't wait to go to my next con. As well as next year's FWA.
I hope everyone's had fun and is doing well. :)

Happy Easter
Posted 10 years agoHappy Easter everyone. Mine's gone pretty well. Mattie, my mom and I spent a great deal of the day enjoying the weather. When I wasn't dong that I was working feverishly on my suit. FWA being so close I've been feeling a bit frantic since my suit's still not done though I'm staying positive. It's so close I think I can finish it in time even if I have to do some sewing on the ride down to Atlanta.
So how's everyone's easter been? How'd you spend the day?

Recap FWA Preorder
Posted 10 years agoHi, all I went down to the beach and returned home a few days ago. It was nice down there a little cold but not bad. Mostly it was a great way to alleviate stress and just relax. It gave me a lot of ideas too. Hopefully I'll actually get more of them down soon.
Since I got back and got my computer I've started work as promised on the art I owe. Below I'll post a little queue to show what I'm currently working on and whats next.
Since I returned home everything seems to of come rushing back in a lot of ways my grandma moved things around again and not for the better and with that has come a massive speed bump in my workflow on my suit and the stuff for my etsy store.
Luckily all thats left on my fur pants is the ankles area and I'm planning to have that done by tomorrow night. Then I'll figure belt loops and work on my paws, head and possibly upper body.
Another burst of happy news is I'll be casting the head tomorrow. I just hope the resin works. My grandma moved it from my storage spot during some of the coldest temps at home and it may have been expose to temperatures below what the specs says is allowed. Though all I need is the resin to last one con then I can replace most of it (at least that's what I've been telling myself.)
