I should be getting my laptop back tomorrow so be prepared for a digital art dump. Having had gone down to myrtle this past week I'm pretty well rested and the creativity is still flowing. I'll be starting preorders for FWA and be posting a bandannas and bags to my etsy. All during that I'll get caught up with everything. Having had scanned quite a few of the sketches in it should go a bit quicker once photoshop is redownloaded. I appreciate everyone I owe art to's patience.

Sadly my computer's still in the shop and it's driving me nuts. It's really putting a dent in everything but my suit the winter weather's taking care of that. Hi all, computer's still gone and I am typing on my phone still. Though I thought since I have the time and hadn't given any recent updates on my suits lately I'd do it.

Okto

I've finally gotten the fabric for the wings. The tail is working brilliantly now and the harness  thestrapsmith made for me works great! If you want to commission someone for a harness I highly recommend her. I'm planning to make a progress video soon. Though weather's made it hard to do any form of photography or video work. My biggest struggle with it at the moment is I haven't figured out is how to clip it down so it keeps its tension as well as how to situate the center vertical movement mech. I've also made a Lycra sleeve for it that doesn't cause any problems.

Takeshi

Tail's finished and been finished though when it gets warmer I might touch up the airbrushing. The underbody suit has been fixed so it fits great. The fur pants'll probably be done this week if I keep going at the pace I'm going. They actually resemble pants now. I had to repattern it due to my patterns getting thrown out but, now I'm in the last stages of them.
I'm hoping to get the resin mask cast by next week though we'll see how that goes. I have the hood and ears patterned and will start them after the pants that way all I have left is the mask and paws. I'm a little nervous about making the handpaws though since They aren't my strong suit.
However I am thinking about turning this half suit into a full if I still have fur and I figure out what his back'll look like in its entirety. I was wondering does anyone know of somewhere I could look or someone I could ask about making a near seamless suit that connects in halfs like shirts and pants and not like the traditional fullsuits? I've seen a few though none really up close

My computer's freezing I can't even use my mouse. I'm on my phone right now. I was just lucky I made it through class. I'm working on getting it fixed though. I'll keep you all posted on its status

I'm happy to state my Computer's up and running again so I'll be getting the digital segments of the raffle prizes done right away.

Sorry I've been practically nonexistent lately with art updates and everything. I haven't been feeling too well lately. I've still been working on art a bit though it may be a bit before I post much.


Anyways now for the subject of this post. I have at least a partial reason for why my art's been slow coming. I went to Duke for my annual check up follow up thing and learned I have low blood pressure. A lot of you are probably reading that and wondering what are you complaining about or something. Anyways Due to it I've had ALOT of dizzy spells. It's also reduced my concentration among other things. My doctor actually told me I need to salt my food. So I've been doing a combo of recovering from the drive up there and dealing with that for the past couple of days in addition to working on school work.

So theres my excuse for being slow all this time. My apologies for being slow...

Another bit of bad news that's slowing me down. Ever since I downloaded Yosemity and updated my computer everything is crashing on me so I can't get into photoshop or anything right now I'm going to be calling Apple support soon though so hopefully I can get this figured out soon enough and get back down to business...

I can't believe it my childhood favorite breakfast cereal French toast crunch is back! When it suddenly disappeared off the shelves in the late 90s a little part of me died inside. Now I could have done a backflip when I saw the commercial. I feel like buying a box for every year without it though I think I'll just start with 2 and go from there.

In other news I've got a badge sale going on. Low priced hat themed badges to help me save toward FWA. The tickets are officially bought so now I just need to try and get enough saved up for the event itself. I'm so excited it'll be my first con and I'll be suiting as Takeshi and I might even bring Major if I can make the adjustments to him that are needed. Hi all,

I'm happy to report that starting back to school this semester went better than I thought it was going to go. Hopefully this semester I'll be able to do better than last fall. Though as always I'll take it a step at a time. This semester should be fun though. I'm going to be creating my own typeface among other things and learning some new tricks in photoshop.
So that's good, then what I had learned last Spring'll help me do better in future classes. I can only imagine how quickly the coloring Line art section'll go for me now :)

Speaking of class about a week ago I attended my first sewing class at Joanns. It went well and I learned quite a bit of new information. Though it was mostly fundamental things I can see how they'll help me out then also I impressed some of my classmates. I might even get a job as a makeup artist/costumer for a school's Wizard of Oz play at some point. In it I made a lovely little bag. I'm thinking I'm going to have some up for sale soon as well as make some with modifications for Mattie's harness.
I'm really looking forward to taking the next class though. In it I'll get to make a set of lounging pants. In this cold weather I could use a set maybe I could even see about putting in pockets! XD


Fursuit updates

Takeshi -

As for my Takeshi suit. I still haven't finished him yet. Unfortunately my grandparents threw out my dt patterns of part of the fur pants so I have to put on the bodysuit and try to make up for what's lost though that shouldn't take much time. I do have ears ready though so I guess I have everything at a partial pause.
I have luckily found all my casting supplies so in possibly the next week I'm planning to go over to my friend's place and do some castings so I should have at least a resin base and hinges to post pics of at least on my tumblr if not here.
I'm thinking about taking the bodysuit and kimono to Joanns and see if they can help me fix them. The kimono for the most part I'm just trying to figure out how I can make the trim look better then the bodysuit still has the same problem of turning itself into a dropped crotch which would be great if I was a marsupial but not for my fox. So I guess you could say he's like 60- 70 percent done

Okto -

I've been working on his animatronic tail quite a bit. I think it's finally starting to work a bit though I need to go to the hardware store one last time before I'm ready to mount it on the lovely harness I commissioned  thestrapsmith for.
So far other than a lot of concept work at the moment all I have is some materials, majority of his tail and wings and that's about it for now. I'm hoping to get a vacuum former built soon so I can feel a bit more confident about doing his metallic parts. Though I have a few foam tutorials that I could use as a fall back. I'm planning to sculpt a hyena mask as well as the actual Okto animatronics soon though that'll be a while away I think. My main focus still remains on Takeshi for now.

Comic Jumper Updates

As of my current situation right now Comic Jumper's going to have a new page once a month minimum. I'm thinking you can expect it around the 10th. Patreons will get to see WIPs as well as see the page in High resolution between the 3rd and 5th give or take.
I was wondering has anyone noticed a difference in the readability between the most recent page and the others?
I put it in Illustrator for the text so it should be clearer but, I'd rather hear from you guys.

Are you a fan of American Horror Story? If so get this there's a group on here now  AmericanHorrorStoryFurs I'm a pretty dedicated fan to the series myself. They have a set of brilliant story tellers writing it and then the cast is great. I especially love the behind the scenes information like how they created some of the makeups. There's a lot to be desired in the series from my point of view with all the twists and turns. I can't wait to see what they come up with in future seasons.

Hello all. I hope everyone had a good holiday season during Christmas. Working on art and dealing with family I didn't get around to make a journal for it. My Christmas went well. My family and I had a nice get together that we hadn't really had in a long time. Though Mattie was a bit of a crybaby since I had her on tie down during the festivities though I have high hopes that she may be able to actually attend in the future.

During the last couple hours of 2014 I spent my time watching Ernest with my mom and Mattie. You may and you may not know this comedian his name's Jim Varney better known as Ernest due to his absolutely hilarious comedies he made. I haven't seen them all given I just discovered Ernest back during Christmas.(his movie Ernest saves christmas is on Netflix) Those of you disney fans'd probably know him if you heard his voice at least a little bit he also played Cookie in Disney's Atlantis the Lost Empire. If you haven't seen his movies I recommend them. They are great for a good laugh especially if you like classic comedy.

Looking back on 2014 it's been a fun interesting year. It was a year of a lot of firsts.I went to my first fur meet. I made friends both at the meet and on FA. I've started a Webcomic and have discovered so many fantastic works of art. Mattie has saved my life at least 4 times where if she wasn't there I would of been squashed. She's showed me so many surprises and made some of the cutest pictures and I frankly can't imagine living without this girl. She didn't quite make it to midnight but, I'm sure she's dreaming of the new year. I'm happy to see what happened over 2014 and I look forward to spending 2015 with you all

I'd love to hear what you all did for New Years and what your resolutions and goals may be?

A few of mine are:

As for updates on me emotionally I haven't been doing too well the moody north carolina weather and a few other things partially relating to my inability to keep myself motivated has made me a bit low lately. I'm working on improving my mood though hopefully things'll get better soon.
Hopefully soon I'll at least have some art to post if nothing else.

I am planning to do some sewing projects among others that may help my creativity I think for the most part I need to do a sort of change of pace and possibly get out a bit more for a bit we'll see what happens.

hi all,
this is just a short update on my computer. i took it to the apple store today since my charger conked out on me last night and i cant survive long without one. My computer died as i was exporting the new page of Comic Jumper from Photoshop.
Anyways i took it in and told them what was wrong and they replaced my charger. I told them something was rattling around in it so they opened it up. Now here's the funny part they opened it up and discovered one of those things that goes on a acebandage had somehow been sucked in. We have absolutely no clue where it had come from heck neither i nor my mom has had need for a acebandage in almost a year.
and now for the bad news... my optical drive was completely damaged they are going to have to work on it. i wont see my precisious macbook for 3 days. its not bad considering ive had pcs in the past that i didnt see for 3 months because of bad parts. As soon as i get it back I'll go back to work on Comic Jumper and digital commissions. in the meantime i guess i'll work on my suit and tails to sale. Would anyone be interested in a brown and black otter tail?

In other news today was Mattie's birthday. She turned 3 today and got some chicken from Chick'fila. She's one happy guide dog. My grandma's jealous for some reason though

I'm going to be taking my MacBook in for maintenance soon it's had quite a few problems for a while now with the actual hardware in addition to needing more RAM for my kind of work I won't know till I give it to them how long I'll be without it though I'm going to get my commissions finished or as close to finished as I can get them before I take it in.

Here in NC it's really cold and only supposed to get colder but with North Carolina weather being like stereotypical mood swings who knows though my friend's got a nice warm place unlike me so I'll actually be able to get things done. I'm hoping to if I get to go unveil it at FWA this april.

Right now FWA has turned into my current major savings goal. I'm thinking I'll probably offer some specialty badge preorder that could go toward saving for it. I'm really hoping to go since my buddy is going and asked me to join them. When I go it'll be my first con ever.

In other news.

My suit is almost done. I get to do the casting for the head this weekend if my papa can get the section of the garage heated up warm enough. North Carolina is a hard place to do castings during the fall and winter and we don't really have any decently heated areas around my grandparent's place to do it. According to Smooth-on you need a area of at least 72 degrees for majority of their products to cure. Right now the weather's been dropping below freezing the past two days and it's not predicted to get much warmer till spring. Here's hoping the heater will be able to do what I need after that I don't predict doing much more casting till spring.

Hi all.
For the most part I'm giving the gist of what's been happening lately and yeah.

To start off since I've been pretty excited about it. I've been working pretty hard on my demon fox fursuit. As of tonight I feel a bit more confident about finishing it on schedule though I still have quite a ways to go. Though now I have the padding prepped and patterned, the Komodo is 90 percent done which was one of my big stress points other than ordering supplies and finding the funds for them on my budget. While the fur may not be exactly what I wanted it will work pretty well and I suppose I could always fix it later on when I have the time and funds. The good news is Takeshi's complex markings will be able to be airbrushed on as soon as I fur it.
Does anyone know how to figure out how much resin you need to slush cast a mask?
I've got a lot to do though some how I'll get this all done in time for Halloween.

Now for a less than positive bit that's slowed me down everywhere. I've been having a combination of annual bad migraines along with allergies and a sinus infection lately. It's cause my art to drop to a little bit a day. I've actually had some of my profs ask me if I'm alright when I'm in class lately things have been so rough. Though if I owe you art I promise I'll get it done soon. Which brings me to Comic Jumper.

Comic Jumper Updates
Spring already knows this but, for the rest of you Comic Jumper now has both a Patreon and a website sort of on Comic Fury that it'll be posted to in addition to here and da. I've been working toward getting the thing posted on the rest of my websites e.g.. Sofurry, Weasyl. Though my internet despite getting fixed has been a bit unreliable.

The script has gone on despite the lack of pages being posted on schedule though I'm going to try and get it back on schedule soon and maybe post a few mini comics and things to make up for the time gone by without. Now back to a few RL positives. As some of you read in my previous journal I have gone to my first official furmeet and had a lot of fun and met a lot of cool furs in my area. This past weekend I went to a unofficial meet with a group a few I met at the Icehouse most of them were new to me. We went to the movies and eventually hung out at Geeksboro and had a lot of fun along the way. I'm looking forward to going to the upcoming Pullen Park meet too. Though I think I'll leave Major at home since I need to install a fan in him and I'm more interested in getting to know the other furs in the area that will be there. I'm really looking forward to future meets as well.

Now I think that covers most of what's been going on other than a Mattie update.
Mattie has real bad hay fever the vet hasn't ruled out food allergies though we feel pretty certain like my own that it's coming from the environment. Though other than that she's been doing good.
Neither of us can wait till Fall Break comes and we can go down to Myrtle for a good break. I don't expect to run into any local furs down there but, if I do it'd be pretty cool in my opinion especially since we're considering moving down to SC.


i promise this is the last of the updates on this journal though you can ignore this part I've just gotten pretty eager about working on Okto in the future especially since I've been talking with a friend about AC 2016.
Back to Okto updates. I still need to find a camera lens from the 90s back or a camera aperture from around that time span since that's the part i'm after. So far I haven't had much luck yet though. Especially since I don't really know too many thrift stores as well as the fact I don't know when they started doing the type of aperture I've got in my camera that wouldn't have the effect I want.

I'm thinking about using the padding from Takeshi in the suit though I'm not sure yet. I may just make new padding all around though I'll probably use a similar feet paw design as the one I'm going to use on Takeshi especially if my experiment works out.
Thanks to Stewart Bray I'm feeling a bit more confident about sculpting a good chunk of a mask though I'm still thinking about doing a hyena blank that I could sell on Etsy when I get my store up and running.
Lately I've been sketching in my sketchbook a lot with ideas for the suit like how to make his ears move if for some reason I don't want to go animatronic and keep the animatronics to the gears and eye though I'm still feeling pretty confident about doing LED eyes. I still haven't figured out the mechanics of his tail though I'm still leaning toward making most of his robotics vacuum forming style if I can find a shop vac the proper suction power and figure out the mechanics I'd hate to make a robot leg that looks cool but, it's welded together. haha
On another note I have his wings half done though they may be altered eventually all I majorly need to do is get another PVC elbow joint, calibrate the articulation, mount it and apply red canvas like material to the wings. I'm hoping to learn some leather work soon too so I can do leather straps for both the wings, his custom goggles as well as his belt. I'm thinking about after a bit of research doing him a custom set of steampunk clothing but, I'll cross that bridge when I get there. One thing I can say though is I'm glad I watched a steampunk seminar panel hosted by Starship Isabella before I took a old clock apart I did not know about those steampunk mines inside of them and I'd definitely be one of those that would wonder whats inside the round disk shaped container.
I'm still unsure about how I'm going to do the animatronics though. I'm still struggling with finding tutorials or even people to ask on the subject at but, I'll keep looking. Right now I'm thinking about as soon as I get the funds to get the fur and do the biological bodysuit then get the rest when I get supplies that way I can take time to get the supplies without going broke.

Hi all, I just back from a Carolina furs meet at the Greensboro Ice House. Boy did I have a lot of fun I can't wait to go to future meets. Mattie had a awesome time too. She loved the fursuits and just meeting everyone in general. She was a bit of a worry wort when I was out on the ice though. As we went around the rink she ran my mom all around the house as she tried to keep track of us. I think she'll need a few more times at a ice rink before she starts sleeping through it.

Out on the ice I had a BLAST! I fell down a lot though I was laughing the entire time and enjoying myself. I'm really thankful for the help I got from those around me too. I was actually able to stay on my skates longer than I ever had before and enjoy myself even if I didn't quite get the hang of skating. One major thing I did learn this evening though is I need to put a fan in my boxer Major as well carve out a bit more foam on the inside to try and improve ventilation. He got hot and hard to breath out of real quick out there. I'm sure my future suits'll make it easier eventually though so will building a heat tolerance :D
