SF-A2 Miki
Posted 13 years agoThis is the first Miki song I ever hear and made me fall in love with her.
Just love the way Miki sounds in this video, and I love the ending.
I love this cover. It's amazing, and even besides the heavy accent you can still understand what she's saying.
What did you think of these songs? What do you think of SF-A2 Miki? Are there any songs with her in it that you like?
SONiKA
Posted 13 years agoI would like to appolegize for neglecting this group. I keep pushing it of or other things, but I'll try not to do it again.
I personally love this song. It's just so silly and happy. One of the first songs I hear with SONiKA, and it was made very well.
A very good song, SONiKA sounds pretty understandable.
My favorite song every with SONiKA, it just so amazing. A great use of her!

Megupoid (Gumi)
Posted 14 years agoI love this song because it's originally sung by Megumi Nakajima (Gumi's voice provider).
Gumi sounds amazing here. Vocalistener makes her sound amazing.
One of the best cover songs I've ever seen. The producer put A LOT of work in this and you can clearly tell.
What did you think of these songs? What do you think of Gumi? Are there any songs with her in it that you like?

Megurine Luka
Posted 14 years agoI think Luka really sounds amazing here. One of my favorite songs with her.
Probably Luka's most popular song, and it's pretty good. She was used very well.
Definitely one of the stranger songs made with Luka. She sound pretty good though here English is not very understandable.
What did you think of these songs? What do you think of Megurine Luka? Are there any songs with her in it that you like?
Gackpoid
Posted 14 years agoI think Gakupo sounds very good here. Though he's not at his best he still sound good.
Gakupos covers this song very well. His voice adds a lot more to the song than Miku's
I love this song. It's my favorite song Gakupo sings. I think he's used very well aslo.
What did you think of these songs? What do you think of Gakupo? Are there any songs with him in it that you like?
Prima
Posted 14 years agoThis is a great cover by Prima. Absolutely beautiful, and although she was made to sing in English she can sing in Italian quite well.
Prima sounds almost human hear, the producer did a great job.
I really love this cover; not just because it awsome, but because it's a great example of putting a lot of effort into a song to get the results you want. I can only imagen how long it to them to get an Opera Vocaloid to sing like this. Though the pronunciation isn't the best she is still pretty understandable.

Kagamine Rin & Len
Posted 14 years agoRin Kagamine
Rin's voice fits this creepy song very well. It really adds that seemingly innocent girl feel to the song.
One of my favorite vocaloids songs, and it is very well made. The producer did a great job with Rin.
This is my favorite song by Rin. It's a truly beautiful song. She sounds absolutely amazing here.
Len Kagamine
(You might want to turn off annotations)
A very strange song with Len, but I like it. The producer did a great job with Len.
I love how Len sounds in this. I also like how they had start out with Rin's version but then crossed over to Len's.
This is the best work I have ever heard of Len. He sounds simply amazing! The only complaint would be that it sounds like he says "Kon" instead of "Pon."

Hatsune Miku
Posted 14 years agoI think this was the first Vocaloid song I have ever heard so it always holds a place in my heart. It's also a really sweet song. Although Miku sings really high, I don't think it ruines the song.
Miku pulls this song of really well, and the fast tempo just makes it amazing. This song is also very meaningful song but the PV doesn't show the true meaning very well.
This is one of my favorite songs with Miku. It has a beautiful feel to it even though it's upbeat and cheery. Miku's voice fits the song very well.

Sweet Ann
Posted 14 years agoA ruff start but it turns into quite the beautiful cover when she starts singing in English.
A cover of a silly song, and Sweet Ann's voice pulls it off quite well. She also is fairly clear.
My favorite cover song with Sweet Ann it. I think she sounds simply amazing in this and she is pretty understandable as well.

KAITO
Posted 14 years agoKAITO sound pretty good in this song, and it's actually a good cover.
One of my favorite songs with KAITO, and it's some of the better work with him.
In my opinion, the best song made with KAITO. Not only does he sound awsome here but this song is hilarious!
What did you think of these songs? What do you think of KAITO? Are there any songs with him in it that you like?
MEIKO
Posted 14 years agoI really like this song and although MEIKO is singing pretty high for her voice I think it fits the song nicely.
MEIKO does a very good job covering this song.
The producer did an amazing job with MEIKO, this is the best I have ever heard her sing.
What did you think of these songs? What do you think of MEIKO? Are there any songs with her in it that you like?
MIRIAM
Posted 14 years agoAlthough I do not really like this song I think MIRIAM sounds very good here, and her voice fits this song quite well.
MIRIAM's voice goes suprisingly well with this song, and see is pretty understandable too.
The producer did an amazing job on this, I think MIRIAM sounds beautiful here.
What did you think of these songs? What do you think of MIRIAM? Are there any songs with her in it that you like?
LOLA
Posted 14 years agoI think LOLA covers this song beautiful. The more robotic sound from the VOCALOID1 progam actually works well here.
This is a really awsome song and LOLA sounds wonderful. (Please note LOLA is not the only one singing. She sings the main part, some of the back ups, extras, and talking parts are from a real singer)
This song has a very diffrent sound to it, but it's also very catchy. I think LOLA sound pretty good in this song to.
What did you think of these songs? What do you think of LOLA? Are there any songs with her in it that you like?
LEON
Posted 14 years agoI really like this cover. Though LEON isn't very clear in this song so subtitles would be nice.
(Turn on CC for subtitles) I think LEON sound's very nice in this song and it sums up what a lot of people think of the Engloids. :\
I know he's singing in Japanese in this song but it's the best I've ever heard of LEON.

General Vocaloid Knowledge/Intro to Vocaloid/FAQ
Posted 14 years agoWhat is Vocaloid?
Vocaloid is a voice synthesis program. So the way the program works is you just type in the lyrics and melody then the Vocaloid will sing it! Though you'll have to put more effort into than that for it to sound good. How much effort depends on what Vocaloid you're using, because some are more difficult to use than others.
How is a Vocaloid made? What are differences between the languages they're recorded in?
A Vocaloid is made by a person, usually a famous voice actor/actress or famous singer, who records various samples. These voice samples will make up the Vocaloids voicebank, which gives the Vocaloid its voice. The amount of samples needed depends on the language the Vocaloid will be designed to sing in. A Japanese Vocaloid would need about 1,500 or more samples when an English Vocaloid would need 4,300 or more samples. PLEASE NOTE THIS DOES NOT AFFECT QUALITY! That is a common myth, the only the difference between the languages is the complexity. The language you are more familiar with will sound less realistic because you can pick out the flaws easier. Also if you try to get a Vocaloid to sing in a language they were not designed for, the results will come out with a heavy accent.
Wouldn't the voice provider fear their Vocaloid becoming more popular than them?
Nope! Vocaloid isn't perfect at replicating a human singer. See...
(Please note that this not the best Vocaloid can sound, they can sound better)
How many Vocaloids are there? Who are they?
There are 30+ Vocaloids so far. Also before we get into who the Vocaloids are you should know that there are three version of the software; VOCALOID, VOCALOID2, and VOCALOID3. Vocaloid2 is an improved version of the software so it sounds realistic than Vocaloid1. Same for VOCALOID3 and 2.
In order of release date, the Vocaloids are: (Click their names if you want to hear what they sound like.)
What are Appends/Extends?
They are basically like extensions of a Vocaloids voicebank. They are completely new voicebanks but they are in different tones. So you can make them sing softer, more powerful or in what ever tone was made. Miku, Rin, Len, and Gumi are some of the Vocaloids that have received and Append.
Why does this Vocaloid suck? Why is this Vocaloid better than this one?
The Vocaloid itself doesn't suck, when used properly they sound great! Vocaloids are just like real singers; they all have their strong and weak points. They also have certain genres, tempos and ranges that they are better at singing than others. For example if you take Big Al, who has a low voice that was designed for Classic Rock and Country, cover a song made with Miku Hatsune, who has a high voice that was designed for Pop and Dance, then the results will be less than pleasant. Although you can make them sing other genres and make it sound good, if you work hard enough. An other reason they could sound bad is if they producer isn't good with Vocaloid. Vocaloid is an instrument and you get better with it if you practice. Plus each Vocaloid has it's own bug and flaws that you have to work around to if you want them to sound good.
Isn't Teto Kasane/Neru Akita/Haku Yowane etc. a Vocaloid?
No! They're are many Fanmade Vocaloids but none of them are actually a Vocaloid. To be an official Vocaloid, they need to have their own voicebank that runs in the Vocaloid program. Some producers have edited the settings on current Vocaloids to make the voice sound different so they can give some fanmades a voice, but this does NOT make them official. On a similar topic do not make Pitchloids(when you pitch a Vocaloid song and say its a fanmade singing), not only are they ILLEGAL they are also UNCREATIVE!
Are there any similar products?
Yes there are! One of a more popular ones is UTAU, which is kind of like the free version of Vocaloid although it sound a bit less realistic. Also with UTAU you can make your own voicebank and download other peoples too. There is also the Macne Series, which is a series of voicebanks designed for GarageBand. Although GarageBand is program for Macs; if you pay for one of the voicebanks, you can then take the voice samples and run them in UTAU so they can be used in Windows also. There is also a program called MAIDLOID, which is a program that creates erotic sounds instead of singing. There is only one voice bank and that is Iku Acme. You can also put her voice bank in UTAU if you buy MAIDLOID, much like the Macne Series.
