Already I'm learning to build things and am well on my way to constructing a spacetransport thing! :D

Didn't they just get some fancy new hardware? Oi, it takes literaly five minutes to load any page on this site. Lately it's just been telling me that FA is offline due to overloading of the server.

Yes, it's free. But damn, I haven't seen anything this slow since I used dial-up years back. :P I'm afraid to browse through pictures. It took me nearly 20 mins just to upload one pic. Sorry if I haven't commented or something, but it's a pain in the arse navigating around here. :P

Ok, the idea of learning to make my own models has been gnawing my brain for quite som time now, especially given my prospective major.

What I want to know is, what is the deal with second life? I know there's more to it than the furry stuff.

I was just wondering (read: hoping) that there's more to do there than just boink yourself rotten. Do you need a premium account to get your own models? Can you model/skin environmental objects like trees, houses, etc? What about geography, can that be manipulated as well?

I want to see this as an opportunity to actually work towards experience in the field I wish to join, and also a chance to meet others with experience (modeling experience, you randy bastards).

All info you got is appreciated, including what sorts of progs you like to use for modeling within SL. File formats, all that mess. Give it to me hard!

Got some spiffy things coming down the line (for once). The new markers I got are working wonders, though, one exploded all over a piece I was working on last night. Lament!
