As I have definitely not been drawing as much as I would like to, I am going to make an attempt at regularity by drawing at least one thing per day. It may be a terrible sketch that will never be posted, but it's still a thing.

I've found a whole bunch of 'draw one thing a day for a month' prompt lists that I am hoping will help with art block when it strikes.

We shall see how long I can manage this, but in the meantime, Happy New Year!

So despite me being 100% sure when I finished high-school that I was going to be a physicist, and starting at uni in engineering... I ended up with a whole-ass degree in biology.

And now I've managed to get a place in a vet nursing course, and I start on monday - I am super excited.

Also made a new icon as it's been a while and I can hope that my art skills have improved somewhat since then.

As a general update, classes are going to take up a good chunk of my time, as well as the shifts at a vet hospital for placement. Since most of the people on here seem to be on the other side of the planet from me, that's not going to make much of, if any, difference to the speed of replies. There is a good chance that they will impact the time a commission will take, as I now essentially only have weekends free, but they will remain fairly high on my priority list. Partly because I enjoy doing them a great deal, and also because I still need to keep myself and my cats fed and medicated.

I'm also interested to see if anyone would be interested in me making a bunch of YCHs, and if so, whether making SFW ones, or NSFW ones, or a mix of them, would be better.

In short, trying to afford my medication, my cats' medication, and bills is getting pretty difficult. I've been trying to get an actual paid job but I am apparently very bad at job interviews. Hence:

Commissions are flat-rate 20USD, paypal only pls. SWF and NSFW accepted, anthro and feral characters welcome
They will be lineart and flat colour, with a solid colour background.
I'm calling them quicky commissions since I'm going to be doing each one, start-to-finish, in one sitting, as fast as I am physically capable of. If I've made a mistake, I'll fix it, but: only if you let me know within a week of me yeeting the review copy to you, and I'm going to try to limit it to one 'fix-up' session per piece.
They're also going to be a more free-style sort of commission.
When I'm finished a piece, I'll send a review copy via onedrive and send the invoice. If it doesn't need a fix-up I'll yeet the full-size copy once the invoice is sorted. If it does I'll do that and send an updated review copy, and then send the full-sized version.

- Who I'm drawing (reference or description, 100% okay with just 'anthro panther' or 'feral fossa', as vague or detailed as you want)

I pulled up and fixed an older piece out of cold storage for the image, but I may end up making a new thing specifically for it.

The main changes are a switch to USD, an 80% discount for additional characters, and a general increase in the other prices.

So I have been thinking about altering prices for a while. I've made up a draft version to replace this. I'd appreciate any thoughts and opinions on the changes. The general theme is an increase in price - as I now have a better idea of how long it takes to make a piece, and I want to keep putting in the effort to make each thing the best that I can. I have also decided to switch to USD, as it seems to be the standard for the website and would make things a bit clearer.

I did end up losing more weight which was very much not ideal. I think that I may have fucked up some major aspect of food motivation in my brain and it's going to take a while to un-fuck it, or at least learn how to work around it. At least now I should have the time to work on that. Also some time to un-fuck my sleep schedule as 4-6 hours is not even remotely adequate.

The 'Request your own Adventure' series will continue (I'll post the next page soon after this), and I have a pretty solid plan for a series to follow it. I also have a list of things to draw that I will add to and work through.

I've put a note about it in the featured journal I use to organise commissions, but probably good to do a journal about it too.

I am going to be online a lot less between tomorrow (25th Feb) and the 18th of March.

I am still taking commissions because I really don't have another form of income right now (and wow it's terrifying to watch all of my savings drain away), but as a precaution, I will not send an invoice until the final review stage, as there is a chance of me just straight-up burning out and I really don't want to leave anyone waiting on a thing that they've paid me for.

My current series (Request your own Adventure), is getting put on pause for that time, and I'm not going to be drawing aside from any commissions so that I can prioritise them. The next page for the series (when it eventually gets made) will be a 'freestyle' round (there will be no options to pick from), so you can ask for anything you want for the very obliging kitty in the box to do, or have done to her.

Hopefully, at the end of the period, I will be good to go back to existing without the giant problem that I have to deal with hanging over me.
And also hopefully, I don't lose any more weight from stress due to that.

On a slightly related note: I am considering altering my commission prices, as I now have a much better idea of how much time things take to do.
This would make them more expensive overall, but additional characters would be proportionally less. I've been trying not to increase prices as I wanted to wait until was getting more interest in my commissions. But, as I have said, I do not have another form of income (despite how hard I have tried to get a paid job), and honestly, it is very expensive to exist in this world even if you don't need to pay a wide array of medical costs. I am also considering switching to payments in USD.
I'm not going to alter anything at the moment, but I'd like to hear any thoughts about it - and also, if there is anything that I should add to my commission info that I have yet to consider.

As for general life, my bonus cat has been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. He had been losing weight since I had him dumped on me, despite giving him higher and higher calorie food and more of it. So off to the vet to get some tests done to work out the cause. Hyperthyroidism (where the thyroid produces an excess of hormones, leading to higher metabolism and thus weight drop (also results in strain on the body in general)) was honestly the best-case scenario since the other most likely options for him were kidney failure or some form of cancer in the gut, both of which would have meant euthanasia within a few months of diagnosis.
So he now shares a diagnosis with my cat and will be getting the same treatment as her.

I've ordered his new meds and hopefully, they'll be here within a week or so (have to be ordered from another state). It sounds weird to say that I consider having a cat that I am looking after diagnosed with a medical condition as good news, but this is good news! He's loud, dumb as a box of rocks, and has several behavioural issues (he will be partly sedated for any future vet visits), but at least he isn't actively dying.

And not actively dying is pretty good!

It took a really long time to get my ass diagnosed for ADHD but it took less than a week after that diagnosis to get my prescription, and that should probably mean more art? I do want to work on my worldbuilding project but also it was really fun doing that commission and I'd really like to do more.

I'm doing a marie condo of my account, and I think I'm gonna try branching out into nsfw stuff. I have heaps of sketches that I want to try to make nice, I just haven't had quite the guts to actually post that stuff.

I am officially free of my two chest parasites! I am very excited and slightly fuzzy in the brain from all the painkillers. Overall very happy.

Just to let everyone know, I technically have enough money for surgery... after insurance. So I need to pay the full amount, and then I get shit back from insurance. Which is annoying.

So my current plan is to ask the internet, and then once I get the insurance back to re-donate it. I was thinking to give it to the wildlife hospital I volunteer at, because wow that needs funding.
Or maybe one of the cat rescues.
