When they open up, some of you may want to make stories for your volatikai and even write about them. You won't be able to show me, however.

Main reason is I don't like reading stories, and it gets worse when people write about my characters, so I feel the same way when it's about my species. However, you are allowed to write stories for my species, unlike writing stories with my characters. I don't want to limit that, so even if the species is portrayed wrong, I won't read it. I feel that if I did, any small thing wrongly portrayed with the species I'd be stressed out about and would be super nitpicky. (this is why I don't allow people to write about my characters. They most likely will get them wrong!)


Once they open, I'll only give quick crits to drawings of them.

You CAN, however (when they open), ask me if a certain story type is okay. So giving me the jist of what you'd like to do is fine. I just can't read the final thing of it.

I'm making this clear because someone asked if I could read their story thing and had to say no.

I think because of this rule I have, I won't be able to fave any writing to this group since I won't read it. Again, I'm sorry.


In other news, I have the new world map sketched out. This one looks a lot better than the last one. Further updates will be a little slow because of me needing to work on commissions, however. I still plan to have the last few things done by Feb 3rd, though! MUST!

I just noticed someone disabled their FA page, so I'll delete them from the list. If they happen to come back then can ask for a number again.

While their name is deleted from the number, that number is then up to be filled again by any new person who requests a number.

I am going to go through everyone and see if there's more people who disabled their page.

First I want to say that soon I'll add the 5 new people to the number list. I just take a while to getting around to it at times. xD

I got a rude comment on the picture I submitted here about the winner not being able to post art until February 3rd. They were not a watcher, and since they were rude I didn't explain it to them and simply hid their comment, and told them why.
But for you guys I'll explain why again.

It's simply to stay fair. People can't post right now, so why would those who buy a volatikai from me get to before the date?

And I have that date set in place just so I can get a bunch more info about them out before they are fully open. It's also my birthday, so it worked perfectly for me.

I used to have it so people could draw their volatikai in any fetish situation, but the more I thought about it, the more I became uncomfortable with that. People will still draw whatever they want, however, so I am trying to make a system where people will feel more encouraged to stay true to volatikai instead of doing whatever they want.

Feel free to ask about specific fetishes if they aren't on my list.

First, here's what I plan for the rewards system:
If you follow all of the rules:
-you will be able to enter my occasional raffles for free art (this will happen on my volatikai accounts, not my main account)
-you will be able to buy a volatikai from me
-you will be able to commission me to draw your volatikai (and may get a discount)

If you don't follow my rules:
-I will mark you as red on my number list, indicating that you're not following the rules
-you will not be able to join the things listed above

Here's the stuff specific for fetishes:
Fetishes:
-Do not make them as a fetish-based character (drawing them in fetish situations from time to time is fine. They shouldn't just be for fetish material, however)
-If you draw them in a fetish situation, please let it be realistic
-Fetishes I won't allow: same-size vore (either being pred or prey), inflation (to unrealistic sizes), child porn (legal reasons), scat (this may be natural, but I feel super uncomfortable with it)

I'm still trying to think of what other fetishes I won't allow, so again, feel free to ask about certain ones.

I am just making this journal now because I've already gotten someone saying they are changing accounts, but to my normal account, which is not good. I didn't even understand why they were telling me this until my friend suggested it may be for the group.

If you never tell me you change accounts, and I notice your account listed is disabled or abandoned, I will remove you from my list. So make sure you let this group know if it happens! (though even if you were removed, you can always get a new number)

I may NOT have all of the info for each type written up by the time I open them up, but that will be okay. Mainly back story stuff will be slow, but I should have the "how to design" guide thing up by then.

I've decided the humans in this world will have "names" kinda like how animals/volatikai are named.
Humans in our world are put into groups depending on genetics, which in a way is like where our ancestors came from (Asians, Africans, Europeans and so on), while the humans in my world get more generalized/placed names, or they have a trait put in front of "human" if they are more unique/rare.

Like volatikai, there are northern, southern, eastern and western humans, plus some others that are similar, like desert humans.
Rose is a red-headed human. Red heads are rather rare, yet they don't have a specific place where they came from, so they are described by their hair color.

I have to do it this way because I can't say there are Asians, Africans, or anyone else from a continent/place that's in our world. I won't go with colors, either, like white and black. So, they are never referred to as such. "Black" people come from the desert, so they are considered desert humans, even though they may not entirely live there. Jack is a desert human, but lives in a tropical area.
Calling anyone by their skin color would be considered very offensive (and they wouldn't say white or black anyways. Peach or pale would be offensive as well as brown or dark brown).

Racism isn't a big thing between humans, however. They mainly judge volatikai, and the same way the other way around.
There still can be racism, however.

Randomly popped into my head, so had to figure it out.

i noticed many names were used on various animals, so these names should fit.

Male: bull (with were form) / cock (no were form)
Female: doe / bitch (pregnant)

(bitch for a pregnant female, because i always learned that a bitch was a pregnant female dog... yet it's only showing up as a female dog in general.)

(and 'cock' is picked because of them having wings, and doesn't sound nearly as strong as "bull")

oh, and the group names for them is just "group". Simple.

Each volatikai type has one of my characters/example volatikai at the top. I've also started to add info to some of the types as well. However, I'll need to make a new map before doing too much with the writing, as I need to figure out where each of them lives.

I think the pictures are too small, so I'll end up making them larger later.

I've not updated the "to do" list yet, however. I still wanna get more done before editing that.

I saw that another species maker was being heavily criticized for what they were doing with their own species.
That had me annoyed, since this is fantasy, and their own species.

So I want to make it clear about my own species. If you can't handle this thought that most of the species rapes, then my species is not the one for you.
Most of them are feral, and like many other animals, a bunch of them rape females in order to pass on their genes. |
This does NOT mean, however, that all of them rape. This only goes for the more feral types. Otherwise this act rarely happens with arctic volatikai, as they are a lot like humans with morals and how they live.

And please understand that this doesn't mean I, for whatever reason, condone rape in real life (when it comes to humans).

Some people seem to think that if you like a certain thing in art/fantasy, you automatically like it in real life as well. I wish this thought would die. :c

ALSO, I want to point out there ARE times where feral volatikai will be consenting.

And, yes, it CAN be traumatizing if a volatikai is raped. They DO have a bunch of human-like emotions. It just all depends on the individual about how badly it would hurt them. Most can get over it, while others could want to die.

And yes, males can be raped as well by other males or sometimes females.

All of this will be written in more detail while I continue to write about the species on the site.

It's one feature with my volatikai that I both love and hate. I created Pierce (as something other than human) before even thinking of making my own species. I changed a lot about him, and even added the paws after making him NOT an actual demon... but I don't wanna remove them, even though they are not ape-like at all.
Even the black marks around the eyes and mouth isn't ape-like, but I wanna keep them. Hell, the EARS aren't, either.

So I'm sorry if these features confuse you at first. :c I'm sure I'll have to make a spot on the site explaining why they have these things.

But just know I won't change those features.
(the good thing is were forms do have ape-like feet in a way because of the dew claw becoming a "thumb". They just still have pads, but are still more hand-like instead of like paws.)

And I guess it's not that bad, since the feet ARE shaped like human feet, but have different toes. I think I feel better with that in mind.

...At least, not like humans.

All hair and fur grows before they are born. Puberty may let the fur grow even more so, but there is no specific spot that more fur/hair will grow.

That means if you want to give your volatikai the look of having facial hair, they'll have that look as a pup as well.
If they have a were form, extra fur can grow in a way to look like it as well (over skin that doesn't normally have fur in the normal form).
Like Pierce's were form. Fur extends to his chin to where it looks like he has a goatee, but it's just a tuft of fur. Then it goes away when turning back.

So don't plan on having human-like facial hair on volatikai unless you're fine with the look on a pup. ;P

(though one that is half human COULD grow facial hair. Hunter may. I dunno yet)

Yesterday I was thinking about it, and at first I didn't wanna do customs, because I felt it would be stressful... but then I felt that it wouldn't be that bad, since they ARE my own species, so I can say what is and isn't okay.

I may or may not allow the rare traits. I think sometimes I will allow them, while other times it will just be a normal custom. Maybe the rare traits will cost more... and I'd still have to have them limited, too. Maybe for every 10 normal volatikai is made, I can offer 1 volatikai with a rare trait.

I dunno what the prices would be for that, yet.

ALSO I'll be offering customs because I know some people don't draw but they still want one.

AND ALSO, I will allow people to let others design a volatikai for you IF THEY FOLLOW THE RULES! So if someone will do it for free for you, go ahead! I am also sure some people will just want a custom from me because I'd be the one drawing them. xD; aha.

I am expecting in the future that people may just be trading their volatikai a bunch (because I see it done a LOT with other species), and that will rather make me sad if it happens constantly, but it can't be avoided I guess.

ANYWAYS, just thinkin of more stuff that can happen when I do finally open them up.
