Liminal Lust 1 year anniversary (and a teaser)
Posted a month agoToday marks the 1 year anniversary of Liminal Lust and a lot has changed since the initial release!
It originally began as a prototype that kept getting more and more ideas added to it, and eventually became a neat foundation to make a game out of it.
Even after release, Liminal Lust has received lots of new features such as:
New room ✅
Dynamic interactions ✅
Dynamic interface ✅
New art ✅
Player customization ✅
Saving and loading ✅
Better performance ✅
Cheat mode ✅
New character ✅
Sexable anomaly 🔄 (Currently working on, mostly done, just needs art)
While all of these are nifty things to have, I think this is a good stopping point for foundational kind of stuff so there's no major content-creep going forward. For Liminal Lust's second year, I'd like to focus more on the core content; the characters and their sex scenes. Stuff that's on the "planned content" list.
The current state of a lot of features is largely thanks to all of you who have provided feedback on the content that's been added and what you'd like to eventually see. So if you want, you can vote for what you'd like to see prioritized here: https://strawpoll.com/GeZARQ9zRyV
I can't promise I'll strictly follow the results of the poll, but it's always nice to know what the fans want.

Posted 5 months agoI've barely been drawing lately because I've been spending *all* of my time working on Liminal Lust.
People have been regularly reaching out telling me the game either crashed on startup or was constantly stuttering ever since I released the first build. The game runs fine for me, but it's been disheartening to hear others couldn't experience it. It's a simple cute-looking top-down 2D porn game, you'd expect it to run on a toaster... and it honestly should.
So I reached out to a bunch of communities, shared my code, got a handful of people to test out the performance on their PCs and report back, I got some really helpful feedback that told me my code was bad, which I of course already knew, but now I learned *how* it was bad. So I ended up refactoring (and breaking) *a lot* of stuff... and eventually got the game in a state that won't cause so many issues. At least I'm hopeful it wont.
The next Liminal Lust update will release soon to improve the performance. If you were unable to play it previously, perhaps consider checking it out once the new update drops.
There's lots of neat content in the works for the future but after spending all of my time just optimizing the whole game, I'm pretty burnt out on it and I'll take a break to focus more on art.

FA is insanely slow.
Posted 8 months agoApparently this is just on my end but FA is almost unusable for me because of how slow it's been for a few weeks now.
I asked around and no one else seems to have this issue. My internet is fine, it's specifically FA that barely loads.
There's already been a few times where I couldn't upload here because the connection kept timing out while I uploaded on my other socials.
It's happened enough times that I just felt like letting you know if you see me upload on other platforms but not here... this is why.

I decided to totally take a break for a few days, then I'll focus on getting a new update out for Liminal Lust on February. After that, I'll take a few commissions!
I'll still be posting regularly though since I have a backlog of quicksand pics (which you can see finished on the discord)

I currently rely on drawing art commissions to keep things going, which naturally takes time away from game dev. I'm balancing between doing art commissions and game dev right now and figured I could put more time into Liminal Lust's development if SubscribeStar covered the funds I usually receive from commissions.
Please don't feel bad if you're financially unable to use SubscribeStar, I'd rather people take care of themselves before offering money to this project. Besides, seeing people play the game and offer feedback is already super supportive and motivating!

I can't come up with a title for this.
Posted a year agoLiminal Lust's in its first week has received far more attention and support than I dared to expect. I genuinely thought the game would be lucky to even reach just 100 downloads by now. I'm still baffled by how much attention it received and in such a short time but its been a month now since I released the game and made two updates for it.
For its first week, I worked hard to address the biggest criticisms (letting you speed through dialogue by holding down ctrl, adding a pause menu, not having all of your nanites taken away when making a mistake etc..) and I also made existing anomalies much more varied and interesting in Liminal Lust's first update.
However, it didn't come with any new sex content because I was rushing to address the things that were frustrating for players.
So to make up for that, the second update came with 4 new sex scenes (one of which is triggered by an anomaly) even though that update was audio-themed.
There's still some unaddressed criticism of certain things I agree with and plan on getting around to. There's also many areas the game can be improved in. So I'm keeping an internal roadmap where each update will stick to a certain theme while also adding at least one new sex scene. I don't want to promise anything specific but that's the general development plan.
I'm currently developing the next update but I'm also trying to take it easy and focus a bit on my person life too.
Perhaps I'll mix it up a little and do some simple art commissions as a way to take breaks from working on the game so much.

For its first week, I worked hard to address the biggest criticisms (letting you speed through dialogue by holding down ctrl, adding a pause menu, not having all of your nanites taken away when making a mistake etc..) and I also made existing anomalies much more varied and interesting in Liminal Lust's first update.
However, it didn't come with any new sex content because I was rushing to address the things that were frustrating for players.
So to make up for that, the second update came with 4 new sex scenes (one of which is triggered by an anomaly) even though that update was audio-themed.
There's still some unaddressed criticism of certain things I agree with and plan on getting around to. There's also many areas the game can be improved in. So I'm keeping an internal roadmap where each update will stick to a certain theme while also adding at least one new sex scene. I don't want to promise anything specific but that's the general development plan.
I'm currently developing the next update but I'm also trying to take it easy and focus a bit on my person life too.
Perhaps I'll mix it up a little and do some simple art commissions as a way to take breaks from working on the game so much.

The response to Liminal Lust’s release has honestly been a little overwhelming. I never imagined it’d get this much attention and interest in such short time, especially with it’s odd gameplay mechanic. It’s been such a huge relief to see people enjoy Liminal Lust and it massively motivated me to keep working on it.
The game can be improved in many areas and I’ll tackle all of those one at a time. For now, I hope you enjoy these more varied anomalies and improvements while I start working on update v0.3.2!

🎮 Get ready! The hentai game is about to release!

The release candidate build is currently being tested to make sure there's no major bugs. If nothing explodes, it’ll get uploaded to http://Itch.io in a day or so and I'll plop a link for you to check it out. I want to just give a heads up for what to expect from it;
You'll run into random characters, you can choose who you want to interact with and what sex scenes you'd like to experience. Even though there's a lot of RNG for who and what spawns, it's still totally up to you who you want to interact with. It’s meant to be an overall relaxing experience.
There's males/femboys, females, dickgirls, and at the start you can choose to exclude a certain gender (for example, if you're not into guys, you can just make it so they never spawn, but still have females and dickgirls spawn)
There's currently 1 male, 1 female and 1 dickgirl character, all of which have a grand total of..... brace yourselves.... 1 sex scene each. Very impressive, I know.
The majority of the development thus far was spent making sure the foundation for all the game's systems function correctly, now it'll just be a matter of adding content (more characters, more sex scenes, more art etc). I'd like to say content updates should go smoothly... but this is my first ever public game project, so I don't know what I'm in for! :D
I've said this a while back, but I've been secretly learning game dev since the start of the year and only revealed it 6 months later because I wasn't confident enough to announce something I didn't know I could deliver (it's also why I haven't really talked about the game beyond "I'm making a game")
I've spent the first 7-8 months prototyping random stuff that *deliberately* went nowhere, just to learn how to code and what did what. Then one prototype just... snowballed into something I think is kinda neat, and before I knew it, I was making an actual game out of it hehe.
So yeah... I'm excited, and nervous. I'm looking forward to seeing what you guys think!

About 3 months ago I announced I'm developing my first hentai game. I've gotten very passionate about it and decided to focus most of my time working on it, which is why I stopped taking commissions and have been quiet lately.
I've been secretive about it's concept, but it's something I haven't really seen a hentai game do before and I'm curious to see how players will like what I made so far.
I aim to release the game before the end of this year. Please keep in mind it'll be very bare-bones in terms of actual hentai content in it's first public release. I actually spent most of the dev time making sure the core gameplay mechanic is functional and intuitive.
The first release will be just something for you to get your hands on and let me know what works and what doesn't while I continue to improve it and add more sexy stuff.
Also, I only started teaching myself to code this year and I have no experience making games so don't expect something professionally put together here. I have no idea what I'm actually doing huehuehue!
