Hey again, everyone! I know I said I'd be back to normal Wednesday night, but... yeah, that didn't work out. x.x The visitation and funeral ate up a whole lot of my time, I ran out of energy and got sick, and my emotions finally caught up with me at the funeral itself on Saturday. Then other, unrelated situations happened at the same time that left me really wounded and hurt and resulted in just a really, really miserable weekend.

BUT I'm alright now. Seriously. I was able to get past the funeral and work out the other stuff, for the most part. I'm still spending today recuperating physically and mentally and I'll be back at it tomorrow! I'll have some stuff to post here tonight, though, a commission I finished and another picture. n.n

This week I'm going to finish one commission and get the next Threads of Fat interlude taken care of before posting time next week. After that I'll be knocking out the rest of my commissions and then hopefully have time to finish up this sequel piece to Milky Situation (which hasn't even come out here yet, I guess I shouldn't feel rushed XD). I wanna thank you all for being patient, even if you didn't know you were being patient, and I want to ESPECIALLY thank the angels who donated to give me a helping hand through this hardship. I mentioned on Twitter yesterday, but I'll say it here, too. I'm okay, emotionally. The big mourning for my aunt was back when she first was diagnosed with ALS and when it took her away as a person. Passing on was just the end of that really horrible time. I know some of you have also lost family or friends to ALS, but if you haven't, then I truly hope you never have to see it.

So what I'm doing now is I'm going to be helping my family cope and get affairs in order. I'm headed out in a couple minutes to do that with my mom and uncle. I still plan on doing commissions whenever I have time, and I expect things will be settled down and back to normal by the time Threads of Fat comes back up in my to-do list. That said, I'm likely going to miss several working days with the funeral and cleaning the house out and stuff.

Several people asked if they could help, so if anyone wanted to, I'll link my Ko-Fi page. My aunt suffering from ALS passed away today. It's a blow because she was like my grandmother growing up. But she's not suffering anymore.

Outages happen, best we can do is work around them. In my case, I couldn't get to my commission info for a bit, but fortunately I was already planning to work on my Patreon story, Threads of Fat! So I've got chapter 6 ready to go on Friday, and chapter 5 will post here publicly on Saturday. I'm getting back to work on commissions now, though! Even if FA proves to not be perfectly stable yet, I've downloaded all my relevant commission notes and references. n.n

Hey, everyone! I've had a lot of people recently tell me that they're not sure how to order a story commission, or they would order a story commission but don't know how. So I'm gonna write up this journal and include it when I open more slots. n.n (p.s. this is NOT calling out anybody on my current commission list, it's just something I've wanted to write for a while!)

So here's an FAQ of things that might be handy to know!

What do you need from me?

- A description of what you would like me to write. This can be really vague or really detailed! I've done plenty of work with prompts as simple as "just make me fat" or 600 word backstories XD Bear in mind, though, that if you give me a really vague prompt then the end result is going to be a surprise! (I mean, that's a good thing, usually)

- How long you want the story to be, since that's how much you're paying! Most of the time I work in 1000 word increments, but I can do 500's, too. I may suggest a length to you, based on my experience and the prompt you've given me, but length is a mutual agreement, and you have most of the decision making power over it. However, I may decline a 5000 word commission with a scarce idea to work with, that's just a little too hard to do as a commission. Also, if you set a limit of 2000 words and I write 2500, you will not be charged for the extra. Sometimes you get a bonus if I liked what I was writing. n.n (tips are nice tho)

- What kind of setting you want the story to be in. I default to a modern-like setting unless you'd like it to be fantasy, steampunk, space opera, whatever!

- Visual references are great to work from, but not required! If you do provide visual references, please make sure that all the information on them is accurate/up-to-date and let me know what species the character is if it's not extremely clear! Pronouns are also very handy, too, because I gotta know what to call them! I really hate ruining the first impression of a story by getting a name, species, or pronouns wrong. x.x

When do I pay? And when do I get the story?

Generally, I'll give you my Paypal when you order so you can pay immediately, but you can also choose to wait until I send you my *ding* It's Done! message and pay then, whereupon I'll send you the story the second I'm able to do so. n.n I feel this is a good middle ground of fairness between you and me. However, you will not receive work before payment is complete.

Cerine, what are you comfortable with writing?

Here's a list of things I'm typically fine with writing:

- Real world, fantasy, and science-fiction settings
- Action, adventure, light romance and intimacy (a.k.a. foreplay), slice-of-life
- I don't mind writing violence. In fact, I've gotten compliments for how I handle it. Violence is nasty, raw, and brutal, and I write it as such. I will write intense violence, with discretion towards gore, as long as it serves some narrative purpose.
- When it comes to fetish topics I am mostly a body transformation writer, so fat/WG (my bread and butter!), muscle (also buttery bread), inflation, etc are what I do.

Things I will write but people rarely ask for, or I don't consider myself a tip-top expert:

- Pregnancy. I'm often cautious around this because of the seriousness of it, and it's not part of my personal experience. I've never been pregnant, don't honestly plan on it, and I've rarely even been around pregnant women.

- Transformation. I'll do it, but nobody really ever asks. XD

Things that are sometimes requested but I am not comfortable writing:

- Explicit sexual scenes or descriptions of genitalia, anuses, etc. I'm not interested, I don't wanna write it.

- Hyper, with an exception for breast expansion

- Vore

- Farting/gas

- Fetish-based fan fics. I'm aware I have faved pics of fat or buff Krystal and stuff like that, yes.

- Not an exhaustive list, and I can and will decline a commission at my discretion

Can I commission your characters?

You may! But it's up to me whether I want to use them, and it's based on a lot of factors, including the content of the story, the tone, and how well I know you. Writing is personal for everyone involved. n.n

Can I ask for edits? What kind of changes will you make to the story?

You may! After I send you the story, you can request some minor edits. Things like, "Oh, can we rework this bit of dialogue" or "my character wears a blue jacket" are things I'm happy to change! I'm willing to make bigger changes if I got something wrong. I don't think I've ever had a problem with going way off-prompt, but let me know if I did! XD

I won't make major changes to the overall build of the story (with exceptions for big mistakes on my part). Sorry, but either you gave me a script to work from or left it up to my discretion. n.n;

Adding a significant amount of content is not an edit. I may charge a small fee to add extra scenes or large descriptions.

Hey, Cerine, explain the boring legal stuff real quick!

I am the owner of the body of work I produce. A commission does not buy ownership, just licensing to non-commercially repost the work with proper attribution. Your intellectual property (IP), i.e. your characters or settings, used in the commission will always remain yours. You license the use of your property in my work to the extent agreed upon. A commission does not license me to use your IP for commercial purposes, unless otherwise agreed upon. As owner of a work, I can repost, modify, or remove a work. (I will only modify a work that contains your IP with your permission or to fix typos and the like.) I reserve the right to use a commissioned work containing exclusively my own IP for commercial purposes or publication.

I originally meant it to be a separation between "normal size" Cerine and other shapes/styles, but I haven't been doing that with any regularity since I got the pink fur (which has nothing to do with the fur, the fur just came at the same time I transitioned to full time writing and have less money for commissions). Does pregnant or inflated Cerine count as a "different" Cerine? XD

So, like, avalanche of memes aside... XD

...there's a lot of talk that it looks bad. And honestly, it probably will be just generally bad. That doesn't mean you can't enjoy it! If it's your thing, go for it~ (like, seriously, I unironically enjoy the Star Wars prequels and they are some of the worst big-budget movies put to film)

I don't have a stake in the race, personally. XD I've never been a big Sonic fan. I think I've collectively played the games for a total of two or three hours throughout my entire life. I watched the old 90's TV shows a lot more than I played the games.

Yet somehow I never had a clue that Amy Rose was a hedgehog. >.> I thought she was a cat, and I was THOROUGHLY EDUCATED by my friends. x.x

The thing is, in the movie being called bad, it's inevitable that it will ultimately be blamed on the fact that it's a "video game movie." Video game movies have a pretty deserved reputation for being weak. It's simply not an easy adaptation to make. The important things that make a video game tick, like player interaction, gameplay abstractions, and an emphasis on combat (usually), aren't things that translate in film like... at all. That's why Hollywood raids books for ideas - and that's not new, MANY classic Hollywood films were books - because books and movies share a lot of structure.

A video game movie has to separate the abstracted gameplay from the game's narrative in a way that still makes some kind of functional sense while retaining that visual recognition. Imagine a Mario movie where coins float pointlessly in mid-air without explanation. Now imagine a Mario movie where coins aren't even mentioned (oh, wait, you don't have to XD). So if you make something like, say, Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter into a movie, you're trying to work both against and WITH the idea that they're about two people fighting in random places. How do you build a narrative around that while still allowing that construct to exist? (Mortal Kombat actually did it pretty well, partially because the narrative was already there)

The trick here is Sonic isn't just a video game. There's been a half dozen TV shows and I don't even know how many comics and manga and such -- all of which already laying that groundwork to separate the characters and the story from the video game abstractions. To be honest, VERY FEW video game franchises are better established to be put to film! Sonic is a really fun character, but Hollywood has this idea that a blue hedgehog who runs really fast is this hard-to-grasp concept for general audiences. The producers at Paramount have apparently not seen Guardians of the Galaxy. >.>

The problem won't be that Sonic is from a video game. It's just 'cause Hollywood doesn't care.

Honestly I'll probably see it just for the sake of Jim Carrey XD
