Like a blank piece of paper the new year is full of possibilities. That paper could come to be something amazing or it could end up with just a coffee stain on. What I am trying to get at is that I would like to make something of this year so I wanted to make my intent known.
-I want to stream regularly. I plan to set up a schedule
-I want to do at least one ych a month. I may decide to put that on a schedule too
- monthly telegram sticker
- redo my website
-maybe rethink my commission prices
-lastly be more active online so peeps know I haven't been swallowed by the void. This may just come in the form of doodles on bluesky, who knows

better laptop
Posted 6 years agoHello everyone~ its been a while since the last time i made a journal
since this year began i have been dealing with computer problems. my primary work laptop is from 2011 and its been showing its age. it has become painfully slow use and it will randomly crash or just kind of stutter while i am using it. as a result i have not been using it as much for fear it will shut down in the middle of what i am working on. most of my recent work has been done on my little second hand hp computer. unfortunately my little hp computer is also old and not very strong. It can't handle big files or streaming and has a terrible screen that doesn't show correct color but its good for sketches and work on the go.
I am very happy to say my good friends
and 
have gifted me a more reliable laptop for my birthday. It has its quirks but i should be able to work on large files without worry and stream while i work on art. I usually like to use ridiculous amount of layers when i make digital art so i am pretty exited to do that again.
you can expect to see me streaming alot more in the near future ;)

Posted 6 years agoI just wanted to thank you guys for your support and patience with my for the last couple of months. Losing my cat has given this year a less than stellar start. I miss him terribly but i know I did all I could.
Surviving off of freelance work has definitely been a learning experience. So far I have been lucky enough to have the support of people around me but its been a struggle. If i want to continue doing freelance i need to step up my game.
I need to improve myself this year.

unfortunate cat news

we went back to the vet yesterday because he was still losing weight. We got medicine to help his appetite and some fluids injected because he was dehydrated. We also scheduled an abdominal ultrasound for him so we could get a better idea of what was going on with him so we figure out the best coarse of treatment. His ultra sound was this morning and there was no good news. Not only does he have kidney issues the vet told me he has cancer. I have nearly reached the limit on the credit card i got to pay for his vet bills, but even if i could pay to treat the cancer, the treatment would likely kill him because its not his only problem.
He is still on the anti-nausea medication and the medication to help his appetite.
all i can do is just try to make him comfortable and spoil him and give him lots of love.
He's gone now.

emergency Commissions for my cat
Posted 7 years agoi need to take my cat to the emergency vet right now and i have no money.
i am taking commissions so i can get money to care for him
the past week my cat has been having constipation issues. i have been giving him miralax which the vet recommended the last time i brought him in. it had been helping a little bit but he hasn't gone poop in a couple days now. i planned to do sketch streaming tonight to make some money and take him to the vets tomorrow. I called to make an appointment with my vet and was told he should go to emergency care tonight. i am panicking because i have no money at all right now. a normal visit to my vet cost 60 and that is just to be seen by a normal vet . i am under the impression that the emergency vet will cost more.
i have a bunch of new ychs i was working on today so i could finance my cats trip to the vet before i realized how urgent the situation was.im gonna post them now as first come first serve type payment
Since I was approved for the carecredit credit card it gives me a bit more time so I will be posting these ych as 24 hour tomorrow
i just signed up for a CareCredit card in the hopes i can use it to help finance my cats vet visit. time will tell if i just made a really bad decision or not...
Thank goodness for the credit card that allowed me to go to the emergency vet with my cat. 400 dollars and some hours later I don't know what is wrong with him. The visit to the emergency vet cost 155 and then he got x Ray's and a couple of other things done. The total ended just around 400. They said he wasn't constipated but if the problem isn't constipation then it's his lack of appetite. Found out when I got home that he pooped just before we left for the vet... So those x-rays could have been avoided. The problem still remains that he is not eating. I'm taking him to the normal vet tomorrow to get blood work done.
Update:
Got the blood test results back. The vet said he had an elevated white blood cell count and I guess one of his kidney values was a little elevated. Can't be sure it's a kidney problem till we get the results back for his urine test.
Got a call with the results for his urine test and was told there was nothing remarkable. Its a relief to find out his problem is not kidney related. Unfortunately I still have no idea what is wrong with him.
finally went back to the vets today to see if we could find out whats going on with my cat. the doctor went over the test results because the one who was in charge of the urine analysis was a different doctor. she told me she DOES think it is a kidney issue because his urine was more diluted. right now the biggest problem is trying to get him to eat. he has lost a little over two pounds since the end of October. he is 9.8 pounds right now. she gave me anti-nausea medication for him so we can get him to eat.
nausea medication isn't doing much. he is still losing weight. going back to the vets today

In other news I have been thinking I need to rethink my commission prices heading into 2019. Its been a struggle so far trying to live of of my art. I feel like I just kinda floundering around trying to make this happen and learning as I go. I'm very grateful to everybody who is watching me and being supportive and for all those who have commissioned me. Thank you very much!

Cat Emergency
Posted 7 years agohey guys, I'm really worried about my cat.
my room mate noticed he was acting really weird so she check his litterbox and his poop was all diarrhea and there is blood in his litter. not sure if the blood was from urine or poop.
hes an old dude so there could be a number of things wrong with him. hes been with me 15 years and he means the world to me
I want to take him to the vet immediately but my problem is i don't have enough money. i barely even have enough money for food at this moment in time. all my money is going towards school loans and rent.
please help

Update: the soonest appointment I could get for him is tomorrow at 3:30. He is still eating drinking and playing which is good. I'm keeping an eye on him in case I need to take him to an emergency vet. The reviews for the emergency vet are less than stellar
Update 2:
took him to the vets. there was concern from the time i made the appointment that he had a possible blockage which can be life threatening. They checked him immediately to make sure he was alright. no blockage. his kidneys seem ok. the vet said its was possible the blood was because the diarrhea he had been having. unfortunately diarrhea can be a sign of many different health issues. got de-worming medication for him under the suspicion his condition was caused be intestinal parasites. I need to save up so i can bring him back for blood work and teeth cleaning but for now at least he doesn't seem to be in any immediate danger.

Posted 7 years agoHoly snapdragons guys, I just moved to a new place with friends! This will mean I will have more time for commissions/ need to do more commissions to survive because it cost more than my previous place. It cost extra to keep my cat too.
We are still in the process of getting internet for our new home and getting everything set up.

I just wanted to let people know I intend to change my commission prices within the next week or so.
Prices will be going up a bit because i undersell myself.
I would rather destroy my wrists doing more art rather than the retail work that is killing them now.
