A Sad Day . . .
Posted 3 years agoJust found out that Brian Eirik Coe has died of a heart attack. He was part of the Transformation Story Archive before I was, and wrote many good stories. We're all going to miss him.
His Wikifur page links to some of his stories, but a lot more can be seen on the Transformation Story Archive.
I just... it hurts to lose him. I don't think we ever met in real life, but... I miss him.

Posted 4 years agoGoodness, eleven months since I last posted a journal. Well, it HAS been a wild year, that's fur sure.
Merry Christmas, everyone. May you and yours stay safe as we enter the new year.

Happy New Year... Hopefully...
Posted 5 years agoWelcome to 2021, folks. Sorry for the lack of a video greeting, but my nephew's habit of yelling profanity loud enough for my headset mic to pick up put the kibosh on it.
See you on the other side. Let's hope things improve.

Looking For Advice
Posted 5 years agoI'm trying out for America's Got Talent on 12/12/2020 (by livestream, naturally) and could use some advice. See the two latest videos on my Youtube channel, where I'm known as Wolfrover:
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCH....._as=subscriber
Any and all advice will be welcomes... because, quite honestly, this is scary.

Would have preferred CANID-19...
Posted 5 years agoWell, I'm down sick. Punning to the contrary, I don't think it's Covid, but we'll see -- just sent the test in on Monday (7/6/2020), and should hear back in about a week.
Still no word from or about Raccoon Drew, of course, but now I'm not just worried sick...
Anyway, take care, everyfurry.

    Calling All Fursuiters !
Posted 5 years agoMy friend Oren is putting together a Christmas-in-July(-in-May) video and needs fursuiters to take part -- currently, it's just two people, and that's kind of skimpy for a good video to the tune of "Need A Little Christmas". You can contact him on FaceBook:

or on YouTube:
https://www.youtube.com/user/Orenotter
Please, if you know anyone that could help out on this, let them know. This is a relly good idea, and this is the only way I can help it happen.

Round House No More!
Posted 6 years agoWell, the end is fast approaching for that repository of rotundity, that library of lard, the Round House. Darkwulf's host is upgrading, and the upgrade will eliminate the old site for good, as Darkwulf isn't going to completely recode the thing. So spread the word, and make sure to save anything you want to keep from the old place, before it's gone for good! Stories by Lupine, Knate Mason, Toner, Jack the Rat and many more (including a couple by me), along with acres of adipose artwork, are about to disappear!
    Odd Thought . . .
Posted 6 years agoI'm not sure what's funnier:
That driving relaxes rats?
Or that scientists basically gave them drive-thru as part of the experiment?

Shopping Trip
Posted 6 years agoSorry for not keeping folks in the loop. Currently, I am at Texas Furry Fiesta, and have pretty much completed my shopping in the Dealer's Den, er, Dungeon. (Tabletop games are the theme this year, so...) Final tally:
1 book: Altered States, featuring cover art by kuma . I haven't gotten it before, but since the youngest member of the family is now 14, I figure I can have a somewhat racy book of transformation fiction.

1 badge by Cynthia Conner, dracontiar on DeviantArt. Full color, but won't be done until Sunday.
1 badge by Dook of Carpetshark Studios, also likely due Sunday.
1 commission from donryu , who's drawing it to my body type. Thi should be a learning experience!

1 "Anatomy of a Wolf" shirt.
I would have picked up (yet another) replacement for my "In My Defense, The Moon Was Full And I Was Left Unsupervised" glow-in-the-dark shirt, but Warhorse Workshop didn't have enough to bring those to the con. Ah well, I get to order from home later.
Played in some Urban Jungle and Mouse Guard. Went pretty well!
Sleep now, so tomorrow I can donate werewolf biscuits to the charity auction. Later!

Happy Birthday, Once Again!
Posted 6 years agoAnother year, another birthday, one digit higher on the candles. Nothing terribly furry in the present pile this time out:
- A package of my favorite coffee, "Wicked Wolf", from Raven's Brew, courtesy of one of my customers.
- A gift set of Old Spice Wolfthorn. Which is good, because you can't find the body wash on the shelves by itself around here.
Sadly, due to scheduling conflicts, my party was a little underpopulated -- only one member of my gaming group could make it, rounding out the guest list at seven people. (Plus my co-workers, of course -- I like to share my cake.) Ah, well, maybe next year.
On the gaining front, mind you, I've finally hit 281 pounds -- a new personal best for me! Who knows? Maybe by the time I turn 50, my age will be 1/6 of my weight!

    Traveling Wolf
Posted 7 years agoWell, I'm off to Columbia, Tennessee for the New Year's gathering of the Transformation Story Archive mailing list, TSA-Talk. It's going to be one heck of a drive, but it's the cheapest option...
Later, everyone!

Happy Howlidays!
Posted 7 years agoAnother year, another Christmas. I hope you've all had fin. Me... well, it's my first Christmas since my sister died, so it's still a bit weird.
Okay, really weird. But moving on as best I can.
On the 28th of this month, just three days away, I'll be setting out to drive to Columbia, Tennessee, to enjoy the Transformation Story Archive's New Year's Celebration. In the meantime, have fun, everyone, and I hope you got wonderful presents.

Long Time No Journal
Posted 7 years agoHey, all. First things first: A friend of mine is trying to find a webcomic he remembers. He remembers the title was something like "Crazy Like A Fox", though it was not the strip that bears that title now. Main character was a fox, first strip was a musical number, and an April Fool's strip had the main character realizing that the Earth hasn't actually been destroyed because the reporter was floating in front of Saturn. Any ideas?
With that out of the way: Come the 28th, I'll be driving up to Columbia, TN for the New Year's Bash. Smaller than the regular TSA-Bash, we just meet for food, friends and fun at the Richland Inn in Columbia. If you're in the area, feel free to stop by!

A Sad Note
Posted 7 years agoMy apologies for the extended silence. Those of you who know me on Facebook have some idea what's going on, but for the rest...
My sister had gone into the hospital for a bladder infection from her catheter, which had developed into sepsis by the time it was discovered. She stayed in a nursing facility for a while, then came home.
For 12 days. Her leg -- she'd lost one to a mysterious ailment that stopped the blood flow some time back -- had been red and swollen and weeping since her release, and had not improved. A trip to another hospital confirmed that she had a new round of sepsis. She was checked in to the Clements University Hospital, one of (if not) the best hospitals in Texas.
Last week, her blood pressure crashed. By Tuesday, her kidneys were failing, and I signed a Do Not Resuscitate order.
Thursday, I signed a document allowing them to withdraw life support. The end was scheduled for Friday morning.
My sister died at 9:15 Thursday night. Her heart stopped while I held her swollen hand and said goodbye.
She never was one for schedules...
But, yeah, that's what happened. We're still busy scheduling her cremation (she was very firm about wanting cremation) and her memorial service. So I apologize for the silence. I'll be back to normal once tings settle down.
Yours with a sign,
The saddened,
Wanderer

We Apologize For The Delay
Posted 7 years agoSorry I've been a little quiet here lately. To be honest, I'm likely to crash right after this, for reasons that shall become apparent.
While I was away in Columbus, OH for the TSA-Bash 2018 ("Brokebash", so dubbed for obvious monetary reasons), my little nephew David got bored and opened up my desktop computer. Nothing horrible, but he didn't get the RAM seated properly before closing the case, so it wouldn't boot up -- a repair cost just $10, so I took it in on Saturday and got it back today (tight schedule).
Well, I spent most of today running around to take my sister's eldest to an appointment in downtown Dallas, then pick up the computer before a work-mandated haircut. I just got home less than an hour ago. Hooked up the computer, booted it up...
And only my nephew's name came up on the login screen. Nobody else's. Certainly not MINE, that of the guy who built this computer from parts selected by a friend in Connecticut, then paid for the repair shop to figure out that I'd overlooked a power cable inside. Turned out little David needed admin privileges to install Grand Theft Auto Online, so he got the computer's security to wipe and reinstall.
Yeah. Everything I had on this computer is gone.
Everything.
Stories I wrote when I was still living with my mother. Gone.
Pictures of friends and family that have passed on. Gone.
Programs you can't even pirate anymore. Gone.
Aside from screaming at the brat for five minutes straight, I'm just kind of... numb. So many memories, so many bits and pieces of my past, wiped away because my nephew wanted to download GTA Online onto my desktop and figured the simplest way was to wipe the computer and start from scratch.
. . .
Good night, folks. I feel tired. Tired and in need of much chocolate.

Question From Ohio
Posted 7 years agoA few days ago, we spotted white car with the vanity plate, "POPUFUR". Any idea who that was?
    Fun Furry Art!
Posted 7 years agoManaged to get into the free art stream of :ebonyleopard: last night before leaving for work. The result is amazing!
Also completely naked and rather NSFW, which is why I don't have it in my Favorites at the moment. I try to keep that file clean in case the 13-year-old in the house runs across it.
That said though, no reason I can't share it with my friends through a journal, right?

Good Lord Willin' And The Crick Don't Rise . . .
Posted 7 years ago… I have all my reservations in place for the upcoming TSA-Bash! The Bash will be held from June 29 to July 3 in Obetz, OH (just outside Columbus). I'll actually be around slightly longer, due to a mistake in my itinerary -- I set my return date for July 5, and it's cheaper to stay two extra days in the hotel than to change my non-refundable ticket,
    Ah, sweet, blessed silence . . .
Posted 7 years agoTonight, I'm outside my sister's home, taking a brief sabbatical -- one night, about as brief as it gets -- from the usual drama as I stay at the lycanthropically-appropriate Luna Lodge in Mesquite, TX. Not that I'm likely to choose this hotel again anytime soon -- the renovations are so unfinished that the hotel's previous name is still on the doors, and the Wi-Fi is so spotty that I'm using mu cellphone as a hotspot -- but it's good to sleep in a nice, quiet room for a change.
I'll likely go off to bed soon. I just wanted to share.

Looking For Ideas
Posted 7 years agoOnce again, we're drawing close to the anniversary of my birth, and once again, luprand is willing and able to provide the artwork for my birthday cake. It's going smoothly, except for one thing :
 luprand is willing and able to provide the artwork for my birthday cake. It's going smoothly, except for one thing :
We're stuck for ideas. Previous years have been fun and rather surprising as we found creative ways to incorporate my age into the art, but 48 seems to be a sticking point. So, in hope of some help, I'm throwing it out there for suggestions.
Things I Like :
* Wolves (obviously)
* Werewolves (just as obviously)
* Being fat
* Role-playing games
* Reading
* Writing
* 'Rithmetic
* Transformation
Any ideas?

Posted 7 years agoWell, that was a long and strange trip...
Pluses: Got to see a lot of friends I basically don't see anywhere else. Rabbit, Kanren, goliathcpg ,
 goliathcpg , sinuke ... I even briefly spotted
 sinuke ... I even briefly spotted tobymanic. And of course
 tobymanic. And of course sasuke was there as part of the writing track and the fat furs meet and greet. (My apologies for bowing out, but the room was pretty well full, and I didn't feel like clambering through to the only open seats.)

Got a new badge from myenia -- I'll scan it as soon as I can -- and a replacement t-shirt ("Furries Anonymous: Don't Ask, Don't Tail") as well as a new one (they were having a closeout on their "Werewolves of London" shirt -- it features a werewolf arm and hand, holding a menu from Lee Ho Fook's... which was a real place until the health department shut it down, but I digress...).

Played a little Myriad Song. Not bad, though I unfortunately got tagged and taken to three points of damage. Panicked status sent my Towser running with a "Yipe, yipe, yipe!".
Attended the GoH Dinner at Eddie Deen's Ranch. Closest venue we've ever had... and you know your con is big when you actually rent a venue for the GoH dinner.
Regrets:
Did not try the Fuzzy Logic Escape Room. I hope they come back next year. Heck, I hope I come back next year.
Missed the charity auction. Does anyone know if the free passes to World of Wonderland got a decent price?
Wish I could have bought more art... but then, I always wish that.
Wish I had somewhere to put books and artwork. Then I could justify buying them.
Wish I didn't have to go home tomorrow. But then, don't we all at the end of a convention?
Good night, folks. Sleep well and enjoy the furriness.

More from TFF 2018
Posted 7 years agoJust about to head down to Opening Ceremonies. While the schedule is a bit more open for me this year -- no Furrywood.com, no tea party -- there are still compromises to be made. Attending the GoH Dinner, for example, means missing Alexander James Adams (formerly Heather Alexander) performing on the Reunion Stage, which is highly annoying.
