General | Posted 12 years agoSo another day of NanoWrimo wish I could say I got a lot accomplished but I didn’t. Although the first actual day of Nano starts for me on Monday. I need to write 4000 words that day, which feels a little daunting but I have the whole day off and didn’t want to restrict myself to writing every single day. Hopefully this will work for me and I won’t crash and burn like last year.

I have my game plan set out, I know how many words I have to write per day to make my target and I have some make up days planned out. So I know recently the crickets have been strumming a tune on my account here lately, but hopefully that will change. Beyond the stories I also plan on blogging a little bit more from time to time. Either here on my FA or my livejournal account simply labeled the Written Dog.

It's Great! But now what?
General | Posted 12 years agoIt was one of the first things I did when I got up yesterday morning. I rushed to my computer and pulled up the news. It was final, “Supreme Court declares DOMA unconstitutional,” although there is very little reality to that statement, considering only a small section of DOMA had been overturned. Then a few minutes later, the news announced the court’s ruling on Proposition eight and it too had been overturned (More specifically it defaulted the the lower courts ruling). It was amazing, some would say historic. The GLBT community of California had fought a long and hard war, and at times I could imagine it looked somewhat bleak, hopeless and tiresome. Finally they had achieved their victory.
Though as I sit back taking in the events of yesterday, I have to exercise a slight caution and remind myself that while California is moving forward into the twenty first century, my state (Oklahoma) is still stuck in the 19th century. It stand to reason with all of the victories and the court decisions, that the tide is finally turning, and America is finally moving forward and everyone in the GLBT community will have their day in the sun. I still have to ask myself one question, “How soon I can realistically expect that for me and my mate”. In 1967 a landmark case graced the presence of the US Supreme Court, and with one sweeping movement forced the remaining sixteen states in the union to allow interracial marriages. It would be safe to assume that the same exact thing would have to happen again in order for me to gain my rights.
So in retrospect, we should be thankful and celebrate this monumental and momentous occasion, but I will reserve my feeling of adulation and my adrenalin rush just a little longer. I just hope that it’s not too much longer.

!!!UPDATE--05/10/2013--UPDATE!!!
General | Posted 12 years agoWell I guess I should provide you guys an update on a few things. Everything going well with my personal life. The Oklahoma Furry Writing group is still around, could use more members but it's a work in progress. I've learned that I write very slowly. Keep in mind that since November of last year I've been writing fairly regularly. Just a lot of it is invested in conbook submission and I don't plan on releasing those until the con has passed. Below i will list a few projects that I have in the works. Including some Anthologies I am trying to submit too, and one that I am currently waiting for. If you interested in reviewing a story or two, please drop me a comment and i should be able to accommodate you.

wildnights is one of the furry cons I work with. If you want to save money and have a good time outdoor furry cons are one of the best ways to go. You are not limited on space as much. You can do just so much more outside. The other thing is cost. These outdoor cons like WildNights they offer your shelter to stay in, included. They provide nearly all the food you would need to eat during the weekend. Since these cons have lower expenses they can also provite more entertainment back to the those hwo attend with GOH's and more musical groups.
You can provide help the con do more just by promoting them, sharing URLs and get others to watch the site.

It is also very important to preregister, not to pay a lower price as compared to the at the door price but by pre register and paying the con uses those funds to buy the food and items needed for he weekend.

furrydramashow! The Furry Drama Show is a group that I work with that travels to different conventions providing entertainment at little to no cost to anyone. I consider convention entertainment shows a vital necessity within the Fandom. They provide a mirror for our inner animal. The skits, songs, posters, and dances that they provide are things that bring happiness to any true Furry. I'm not asking for money. The small favor I ask is that you simply go to furrydramashow and add them to your watch list. That's it! Just help spread the joy. You don't win anything but the knowledge that you gave a pat on the back to the furs that spend many hours thinking of nothing but how to make other Furries happy. If by chance you think you might want to participate, that would be good, too.

Oklahoma Furry Writting Group
General | Posted 13 years agoIf you are reading this, then you have must have expressed to me at one point or another that you are a writer (or just happened upon my FA page, either way). An as a fellow author, and an author of the anthropomorphic variety, I cordially invite you to a writers meet and greet.
What I want to do is set up a local writing group, where we can discuss ideas, share our works and hold each other accountable. I hope that this meeting will be the first step in that process. If you are unable to make it to the first meeting, don't fret, I am certain their will be other opportunities.
Their is a few thing that I want to focus on at this meeting, and if you don't mind, I would ask you to think about it before you arrive. Do we want to keep this local to Central Oklahoma, or encompass the whole state. Then again if we encompass the whole state, how often should we have these meeting and through what medium should we have it. Do we want to implement a Forum, A Yahoo Group, A mailing list?
If any of you are interested, please meet me on Monday, 03/04/2013 at 7:30 pm at the IHOP by I-240, in southern Oklahoma City. If you can't make it, but are interested, please leave a comment or send me an email Warnndog(a)gmail.com, so I can have a feel how much interest we have in the area.
p.s. I'm sorry for it being such short notice, I just wanted to get something done, rather quickly. Their will be future meetings I promise.

General | Posted 13 years agoWell NaNoWriMo was a faliure but it was 15000 words that I would not have written. Anyway I'm off to taking care of other issues.
I just wanted to say Happy Holidays to all furs out their that celebrate the season in one form or another. I hope this next year, bring you more joy and good tiding then the previous year.
And for those who share my faith. Considering that we as Christians adopted the winter Solstice to celebrate the birth of our lord and Savior. Jesus Christ.

General | Posted 13 years agoHey Everyone, just wanted to let everyone know I am trying my hand a NaNoWriMo. For those who don't know what NaNoWriMo is, do a Google search: http://www.nanowrimo.org. My Current project is the book "Lost and Found," it's a story I have been developing for a number of years. The story focuses on Trevor, a grey wolf, who is in love with a short hair brown Wolf Hybrid named David. David loves Trevor and is not afraid to admit he's gay. General | Posted 13 years agoWell it's been fun. I have been off work since the 17th of October for Oklacon and I am just now going back. Due to a combination of fortunate events and some planning, I was able to almost land two weeks off at my work. My first day back might hurt, considering. I hope I can remember all my passwords.

A little from the Constore, I either bring my own or go outside the park to eat.

Here's the thing. I'm gay. I'm a christian and I adore Chick-fil-A chicken sandwiches. I know the guy, Truett Cathy, the owner of the Restaurant chain supports, Family Research Council, Exodus International, and the Marriage & Family Foundation which are all big organization that are against gay marriage. So if Truett Cathy does indeed donate to these organizations, does that mean as a gay man I should not eat at his restaurant?

!!!UPDATE--08/01/2012--UPDATE!!!
General | Posted 13 years agoWell I've finally did it. I submitted another piece of work to an anthology. Hopefully I did well. Though I felt more work was placed into "Poker Game" than "Unexpected Changes," even though I started working on the story since the begging of June. Much of it was trail and error. Write and re-write. I wasn't able to get a solid story down until a few weeks ago. Anyway I hope it all works out. Still haven't herd anything from Fang yet about "Thicker Than Blood," and I've waited since November of last year, though I am afraid to approach anyone about that yet. If I don't hear anything soon, I may have to bite the bullet and contact them. Though I don't mind if I'm rejected, I just would like to know.
On a last note, if anyone wanted to know where I've been for the past few days. I actually visited my Grandfather. He passed away this past Thursday and I had to scramble at the last minute to go to the funeral. Anyway, even with the last minute problems I encountered, the whole thing went better than expected. Anyway hope to have an update up a lot sooner than this last one.

General | Posted 13 years agoWell Final Fantasy XIV has been predominantly taking up most of my life at the moment. That and work, but I have not forgotten about my writing, I have the first chapter of my "Symbiote" story and I am currently working on a story for the Anthology Alterations. Hopefully that goes through, and then I have to finish up my "Symbiote" story and then I want to try and get something written for Heat, when they start opening submissions. So a lot of potential but well see where the wind takes me.
BTW, anyone of you interested in a D&D campaign, I may have found a Virtual Table top that works. Anyway, I plan on running some one shots in the future, keep an eye out on my journal for more info.
P.S. Currently the Job situation is good right now, for anyone who was curious. Though I am still looking?

General | Posted 13 years agoI hate to say this but my current Job Situation is in the air. It turns out that Sprint is undergoing some major changes. Currently I'm not doing well in my job, I'm not able to pass a certain portion of my quality. In the past if my supervisor recognized this flaw, they would be able to implement an action plan, and I would be given an opportunity to improve, as it stands right now, they are not giving me that opportunity. If I fail, I move to a different level of repromand, until one day I'm fired.
A small part of me was in denial because, in the past, if you at least work hard and show that your trying, they will work with you and keep you on board, but I've herd some news recently that seems to confirm this current way of thinking. I've been working at this place for almost nine years and my job is on the line. I will do my best to try and overcome, but I have to consider my option.
If anyone know a good job, particularly call center related, or a job that does not require a lot of education (Associates) and pays fairly well, please let me know. I don't have a lot of options and somewhat desperate.

General | Posted 13 years agoHello Everyone! I just wanted to update you with the progress of my writing. I know it has been a while, but I’ve actually been busy. Currently I’m working on a story that I plan on posting up to FA and So Furry. This has been exciting for me because of everyone who has volunteered to offer their support. I hope that the quality that the story will also be very reflective of the amount of time that has gone into this. Of course this will not be the end. I plan on publishing a story online at least once a month, for as long as I can accomplish this task. I am also working on the story for Wild Nights and a story for Antrho Con. Well see how successful that is.
Unfortunately, do not rely on my old que. I was thinking about doing a story called “Crown of Command,” but I have decided against it. Then again that may come later, down the road.
