Posted 18 years agoSo I downloaded Streetlight Manifesto's new album after seeing their new music video. I just couldn't wait anymore after hearing that amazing song... and good god, this album rivals Big D's 'Strictly Rude' in its sex factor. I'm just in love with this album. 'We Will Fall Together' is my favorite song on the album, followed closely by 'Down, Down, Down to Mephisto's Cafe', but it's hard to not just listen through the whole album, it's just so good. 10 songs isn't much for a 4 year album gap, but the average song length is about 4½ minutes and the song quality is absolutely mind blowing, so I can't hate on Kalnoky for taking so long. The album deserves a 9/10 at absolute minimum, and I can't wait to get my hard copy at the Orlando show on the 21st.
Big D
Posted 18 years agoSo I went to see Big D and the Kids Table last night. Now, the show was amazing, and I love the hell out of them, but it gave me an interesting new theory on the name Big D. I HAVE NEVER SEEN A BIGGER BULGE. I'm not one to check out a guy's crotch, but since he was jumping around and wearing some kind of loose fabric pants it was hard not to notice that the guy is fucking HUNG. Seriously. I wonder if that thing gets much bigger. Yamanto wasn't there, but I think he described it best as he commented that he wanted to see the flopping frankfurter. Hahahahaha.
But anyways, they are fucking awesome, and they played at least half of the songs off of Strictly Rude. Whole Wheat Bread was interesting as well, especially since they replaced their jailed bassist with a white guy and their chants had the 98% white crowd shouting NIGGA several times. Also, their live rapping is much better than the shit at the end of Minority Rules.
Before WWB were the AKA's, who I was repeatedly told were emo and lame but weren't emo at all and were actually a lot of fun. Lots of crowd interaction going on there. Vinnie from LTJ is their manager, and he along with JR (sax) and Derron (ex-bari sax) were there to represent. Justin (the bassist) was nice enough to spark a conversation after the show.
The local opener was a band called Chupaskabra, who I've now seen three times. They just get better and better. Unfortunately, despite their shirts being only $10, the one I liked was only available as a girl's shirt. I was like WTF, 50s style art does not equal girly. They said I could still buy it and show off my muscles, but I don't really have any so fuck that. X3 Oh, a kid I knew back in middle school happens to be friends with them, and got on stage to add a tuba to the mix for one song. I found him later and talked for a bit, totally cool.
And now this is my longest journal ever! How appropriate seeing as how long Big D is! X3

Random amphibian encounter
Posted 18 years agoSo I just spotted a toad (possibly a frog) hopping across my kitchen floor to the back door. I went "awwww" and got a couple of pictures, then scooped him up and set him outside. I don't think it appreciated being grabbed, but I tried to be gentle and at least it will survive outside. I feel good now. <3
Random celebrity encounter #2
Posted 18 years agoRoger from Less Than Jake pulled up next to me at a stoplight. My day is now officially awesome. Unfortunately the light was changing as he pulled up, so I only got to wave and say hi, but still, FUCK YES!!
Ritz Bitz!
Posted 18 years agoSo I had this craving for Ritz Bitz. The cheese kind. But I didn't have any. So I made full size Ritz Bitz with some Ritz crackers and some Muenster cheese. SO FUCKING GOOD.
Well fuck
Posted 18 years agoIt's my birthday. I'm 19. Woo-fucking-hoo. This year better not suck as much as my 18th did.
Can you tell I don't pay much attention to my messages?
Posted 18 years agoI just nuked over 14000 new journal messages, and somewhere over 40000 new image submissions. I don't think I've regularly looked at either page in over a year. Now that it's all empty, perhaps I should.
Random celebrity encounter
Posted 18 years agoYou all know who Bo Diddley is, right? If not, for shame. He was a key figure in the transition from blues to rock and roll. Anyway, I've known for a long time that he lived around here, but I never expected to actually see him. While waiting to checkout from Lowe's (getting work tools) he came in through the doors and was greeted ecstatically by the cashier. For a guy who had both a stroke and a heart attack this year, he seemed to be doing pretty well. He's definitely lost a lot of weight, though. Still, how random. And awesome! :3
Late nights
Posted 18 years agoI have trouble sleeping at night, and many nights I end up just sitting up, bored and alone. It's lonely. Anyone care to chat with a puppy?
1000 pageviews?
Posted 18 years agoWhy have I hit almost 1000 page views? There are hundreds of better artists on this site, why are you all looking at me? I don't even draw porn! And shit, I haven't submitted anything in a year.
FUCK YES
Posted 18 years agoSo, anyone who knows me well knows that I'm obsessed with Less Than Jake to the point of stupidity (i.e. blowing all my cash on them). Well anyway, at their Orlando show last night, I GOT CALLED TO THE FUCKING STAGE!!. I got to play LTJ Price is Right starring Chris as Bob Boner. :3 I WON A GARBAGE BAG (aka I lost). They sent me off the stage and so I went to hang out with Matt (their merch guy and drummer for the Queers). While doing that, Aaron Barrett of Reel Big Fish showed up at the RBF booth and so I talked to him for a bit and got him to sign my trash bag. Sweetness. I've been told many times that he's a dick, but he was actually a really nice guy. He just seemed a bit depressed; I think he might have low self esteem, but I'm no expert.
But whatever, I WAS ON THE FUCKING STAGE. Hell yes!

738 pageviews?
Posted 18 years agoWhy do I have any? I'm not watching enough people to have that many "thank you!" responses, so I am confused. X3
And also I'm apparently bored enough to be posting here. Wow.

I'm actually going to upload something!
Posted 19 years agoDon't get excited; my art still sucks. But I had to do this thing for my english class where I could draw something as an example for a word definition, and fluffiness came out of my pencil. I'll scan it when I get home tonight.
...why don't I think anyone will actually look at this? XD

Posted 19 years agoMore than 100 page views (only maybe 50% were me dicking around) and more than 5 watches! I'm surprised, I thought my stuff just sucked, but apparently it's juuuuust enough above utter crap that a few people don't hate it. Thanks guys!
