Offering trades, Writing for Artwork
Posted 4 years agoHey all.
As we all know, I can't draw worth a DAMN. But I am a writer. And sadly, I am stuck on a fixed income due to disabilities I was born with.
So since money is often not something I can offer as much as I would like to— I'm not saying never, just that it's not as easy for me, I am looking to do trades of writing for art, if anyone is interested.
Info on what I do writing-wise can be found Here.
Be aware, these may not be done instantly. I am doing a writing commission already and am also working on my own original stories. Just a head's up.
If anyone is interested in doing trades of art by them in exchange for writing by me, hit me up and we'll talk.

In a bit of an emergency!
Posted 7 years agoHey all.
I know this is a horrible time to have to ask for help, but I'm kinda in dire straits. I am on a fixed income, which is why I take writing commissions— one of which is still in the process of being done, so don't worry, I haven't forgotten!— but I am seriously in dire straits financially, as I have to handle my rent and pay down the tech support and protection plan for my laptop, which renews every year in January so long as I keep it paid up.
Luckily, I am in no danger for rent. That's thankfully never been an issue. However my laptop has been having issues and I need to make sure I have money to pay for that renewal of the warranty so that the shop I bought it from will continue to provide support, both remotely and in store. The problem is the price.
We're talking about a 240 dollar cost. I don't have enough to do both without potentially ending up broke for January. The holidays left me broke, so I'm asking if anyone would be willing to donate a bit. You can do so here: My GoFundMe or my Paypal
Anything you can offer would be great. I know this is a horrible time to have to ask, what with everyone getting slammed by the holidays and all, but I am really stuck for cash right now. Thanks in advance, and Happy Hanukah, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year!

Posted 8 years agoHey all. I'm looking to try to get a piece of work done for one of the book series I'm working on. Specifically, I need to have a language made for it.
Any donations or shares of this would be great and well appreciated. I hope this isn't too weird a request, but it does kinda happen to be something I'd really like to be able to do for the books.

Looking for coin makers for RPGs and the like.
Posted 9 years agoHey all.
I am looking into fantasy coins, like the kind you can find for tabletop RPGs. I am aware of the company called Fantasy Coin LLC and their stuff looks gorgeous on Youtube, but their website indicates almost everything they make is out of stock. I'm not simply looking for such a company just because I want to get some coins for tabletop RPGs (though that's part of it) but I'm alo looking for information on companies willing to make coins for a reasonable price as I'd like to get some physical coins from my novels made. Anyone know where I could look into this?

Does anyone know what the hell happaned?
Posted 9 years agoSo I just got on FA about five minutes ago, and somehow the titles of the artwork have all vanished and now pop up when I scroll over an image. Aside from being heavily distracting, I just plain do not like it. Anyone know how to set things back to the way they were?
Willing to trade writing for art!
Posted 9 years agoBack from Comic Con!
Posted 9 years agoWell, I have returned, though this likely belabors the obvious. I am happy to say I came back with a pair of great commissions. One has been uploaded already. The other will go up in a day or so. Hope everyone's had fun this week, I damn well know I have!
Off to Comic Con!
Posted 9 years agoHey guys. I'll be off at New York Comic Con the next few days. I will try to upload some pictures if I can. I will be using my smartphone for that so I dunno how good the pics will be. But better than nothing, right?
If anyone else is going to the show, note me and we can see about setting up a meet.
In any case, I'm off for now.
See you guys back on my computer on Monday. Tuesday at the absolute latest.

Writing commissions open for Janurary 2016!
Posted 10 years agoPondering Patreon. Also, writing Commissions still open.
Posted 10 years agoSo, as most of you may know, I'm a writer. And that's not the most lucrative work out there for someone who is trying to publish their own stuff. However I keep hearing about Patreon, and I'm considering it. Can anyone give me some thoughts on whether or not it's a worthwhile investment? I'm still not entirely sure how it works. I mean, they say it isn't like Kickstarter where it's not all one big project, but how and when do you pick up your money? Or do you even get to if you don't meet your projected goal? How exactly does this work?
And a quick head's up to remind everyone that I am still Open for writing commissions, and the info on how I work and what my prices are can be found Here, and Here is where you can find out what types of work I am currently accepting.

Help out an artist in need!
Posted 11 years agoSo
Linhthasack, an artist who has done some amazing work for me in the past is in a bit of a situation. She needs to raise something like three hundred bucks in the next two weeks. To that end, she's offering up commissions where forty-five bucks gets you a pic with two characters, fully shaded and includes backgrounds. She's done some amazing work for me in the past and will do the same for anyone who puts in for a piece from her. How do I know this? Two very simple reasons:
1. she's already done some amazing work for me on a number of pieces for me which can be found in my gallery. Given what my characters look like, the descriptions are pretty crazy in and of themselves and she's done some amazing stuff with them. She's also been very good about making corrections if something comes up, which has only happened twice. Both times she was more than willing to make corrections and did her best to make sure I was happy with them. That's going above and beyond since not everyone out there would do so.
That's partly thanks to the fact that from my experience with her, she works to give you exactly what you pay for and then some. For example, in only my second ever commission from her, I noticed she'd put in one or two things I hadn't even noticed until I'd had a second look through at them. Up till recently, most of what I'd gotten from her were YCHs, and I got better than what I paid for. I have no doubt that this trend will continue.
I'm a big stickler for detail and if she can put up with me, given how I can get sometimes about things with my characters, she can handle just about anyone's ideas.
2. The turnaround on these things is really good considering how involved some people's character designs are, and she still manages to make the work she puts out look utterly stunning despite how detailed many of them are. That's talent in and of itself. A few examples of her work from my own gallery:

http://www.furaffinity.net/view/12487998/
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/12461238/
Again, she really makes a point to earn her keep on these things. Give her a hand and commission something from her. You'll be very happy you did.

My life in the last month and a half.
Posted 11 years agoWhat a month, that's all I have to say. Well, month and a half, really.
My grandfather in Florida passed away May 8th while I was visiting relatives in Jersey. The good news is that at least it seems he went in his sleep, so he didn't suffer when he went. The bad news is he had been bedridden for days and wouldn't eat in all that time, so he clearly didn't have an easy time of it. I'm just sorry I never got the chance to say goodbye. He was always the happy sort. I dunno, I guess when you hit 86, you kind of find the funny side to just about everything in life. He fought in World War II and I was able to attend one of his reunions with his old war buddies at one point. ...Kinda wish I had thought to take pictures at the time. Then again, I wasn't that old when it happened. The weird thing is that looking back at pictures of him when he was younger, I would swear he looks pretty much identical to a cousin of mine who lives somewhere in California. In LA, I think actually. Or at least he went to UCLA, at any rate.
The same week while I was down in Jersey I began looking into the New York Film Academy, since my one regret is always that I never got my degree. I got a certification in Radio broadcasting from a community college, but the SUNY school I went to drove me up the wall. I'm hoping that the associate degree that NYFA offers —which ignores the 'general education' crap and instead focuses on only courses relevant to my desire to get into acting (particularly voice acting)— may be more attainable. The real question is how to deal with it. The degree program requires students to attend the Los Angeles branch of the Academy for the second year. Which I have no problem with, once I can secure a housing loan at the very least. The problem I have is in figuring out whether or not to take both years of the thing in LA or split them, one year in New York, and the final year in LA. Given I'm not a man of particular means, it may just be easier to take both years in LA, though the NYFA representative I've been in contact with has told me that casting works differently on either coast and that taking the first year in New York might be beneficial. I just don't know what to do there. Plus I need to see if I can get ahold of one of my old high school administrators the then-principal, now....I forget what...of my old high school would be willing to write me a letter of recommendation for the place. Guess we'll have to see.
That's pretty much all that happened to me in the last month plus. Well, aside from picking up a ticket for New York Comic Con. Catcha on the flip side, peoples.
Down again
Posted 11 years agoMy machine still isn't working right. Going to back things up and roll back from Service Pack 3 to Service Pack 2 and hope it helps. See you in a few days. I'll connect from the library or community room computers as required.
Back on Monday. I hope.
Posted 11 years agoHey guys. Posting again from the local library. I've got good news and bad news. The bad news is I won't be back up on my own machine on sunday. The good news is that I WILL be back up, with luck, by Monday. So keep your fingers crossed. My machine apparently locked up because my previous antivirus program left something of itself behind to clone itself, and it was messing with my current antivirus program. So it looks like once we can find and kill the remnants of the old program, I should be ready to go again. Hope to see you all again on Monday from my home machine!
Down for repairs- to the library with me for now.
Posted 11 years agoHey gang. My computer is having a spaz attack of unknown type, so I will be handing off to a friend of mine who knows computers and hope that he can work some magic with it. Happy Easter to all who celebrate it, and I hope to see you guys sometime soon. I'll be buying a secondary drive to backup my files in case I need to do a full wipe and restore of my machine. (Though I pray it won't come to that.)
For anyone I haven't seen or talked to in awhile, sorry about that. Looking forward to hearing from you all again soon when/if my machine gets back to normal. I am still open for writing commissions, if anyone is interested. In fact, if you are, please let me know as I'll be getting online via my library for awhile. I could use the money to buy that secondary drive, honestly. So yeah, if you want to commission me for writings, my info is here, and yes, I am somewhat desperate here for cash, so I'm taking 25 percent off of everything up to extended scene and half off for everything above that.

Now taking Paypal
Posted 12 years agoUp till recently, I have avoided Paypal since the last time I used it (which was roughly ten years ago.), my account was hacked and what little money I had had in the account was stolen. Since then Paypal has come a long way and so I'm taking a chance on it again. Anyone looking to commission me for writing can now send me money directly via paypal. More info can be found on my commissions pricing and TOS, which can be found here. And as stated on another journal— namely this one— I am currently open for commissions and trades. Feel free to note me if you want a piece written for you.
