Right, journals exists and so do I.

This month is a lof of turning points in my life.
-My roomie moved out, I got room for myself.
-I quit my job today.
-I am almost done with my university
-That includes being done with oxford debates, which were my main hobby for past 8 years.

There are 3 conventions coming in upcoming month. Right after I am done attending them, I'll be working in a new job, working 9-17. Free evenings and weekends, I CAN'T WAIT, WOOOOO!

And sure enough - that will mean there'll be time to focus on art.
I really got stuff I actually wanna draw, I just can't draw when there's work or studying to be done.

Just wanted to make an update on the current drawing situation.

Me and Nitroft received quite satisfying amount of responses to our project and I've decided to actually draw majority of received suggestions instead of one (unless I realize it's a bad idea XD). However... I feel like I don't have the skill for that... yet! Let's say I want my drawing to look more... furry. My plan for next two months is to draw two birthday gifts I was supposed to finish in 2015 and 2016 and I want to leave EVERYTHING else for later, because I need to start taking care of the university stuff soon.

So about the project, to everyone waiting for the second part... give me like two, three months and it'll be done and pretty. ;3

Day -1
One day before leaving for the con.
As everyone on chats were excited about the con and „Is it Gdakon yet” was written on everyone’s lips, my excitement was muted by the stress, as the fewer hours till grakon, the fewer hours I had till my two exams I still had to pass: Math and microeconomics. Basically my entire week was just running around from book to book, but luckily with the good results. The nightmare ended on Monday, 8 PM, when I could finally start collecting my stuff for the con, listening to Darude – Sandstorm.

Day 0
Midnight. We’re finally putting our stuff in the car. So was put I. In a car trunk. Covered with two fursuits (:icon, pushing me onto the window for the entire 7 hours trip. At least I had some sleep... Some. Thanks for the trip,  greensmok sader mistyjeffyjeff lennart

As we arrived, there were children everywhere and very few furries in sight. So we decided to go shopping. 4 fursuiters and I. Suddenly 2 other furries passed us on the street and the only words that were spoken... „Hi Wasder”. Guess I’m famous...

As two of the furs from my city were on Gdakon for the first time, I suggested them to write a sign „I know Wasder” and hold it in a lobby.. did not work very well. I wonder why.

At the end of the day, I had to move from Rumia to Gdańsk for one night... I didn’t know they actually do hostels with paper instead of walls. Literally! Even the matress was in such a low quality I hit my elbow with a spring.

Days 1-3
Back to Rumia. First time in my life I’ve seen public communication working like this: You buy a ticket and it is valid for the first train that arrives only. Or you can have a ticket from different source and you need to validate it before you get into the train. No ticket validator inside the train? Ok...?

CONVENTION
To be honest, I have very few stories that can be told without a context out here. I mena I had great fun there, but not much to share. xD So here are a few of them:

1)There is an easy way to get a high % alcohol for free. You need to approach  Athiress at 1AM with „Hi Athiress, I’m sober”. That way you can have the entire bottle all for yourself! Uuuuunless you’ll be forced to drink it all at once like I was with 47% tatratea liquor. >.-.<

2)Fursuit olympics! Sadly, this year I was not a furry trash (well, not during the olympics :D), but I was still blindfolded and.. I might update a video here, once it is submitted to youtube.

3)Charades.  diaboloswolf probably won’t let me ever forget my performance of „warm ice cream”, but hey- they are furries, what is the easiest way to make them guess the word „cream”?!
3b)At some point we had a rage quit in our team, so one guy was supposed to make us guess a sentence „How much does a trojan elephant weight”. SERIOUSLY?!
3c)We lost by one point :P

4)I was drunk one day. I forgot to eat the entire day and realized it after drinking some strawberry vodka xD I went to McDonald’s with a new friend at 23:20. We talked till 00:02, when we reminded ourselves we are supposed to fetch some food for friends before we leave. Then we noticed the McDonald’s is already closed. Doors locked with a key. WITH US INSIDE. AND 3 OTHER PEOPLE. ARE YOU BLIND, STAFF? So, as McDrive was blocked by actual cars, we went to KFC. Ok, got the food, I decided to pay using the card... but I picked the wrong card from my wallet and so I tried to pay using my ID. XD Glad nobody noticed that.

5)Karaoke... I really gotta critique this one. I enjoyed the con a lot, but since I waited for karaoke the entire year as I love singing and the challenge itself, I was sad to see all the technical issues. First on, the contest was pushed 2 days so some people I wanted to sing against were not avaiable and secondly the mics were not working. Sometimes the blue one, sometimes the red one. I was singing „Mutter” by Rammstein against Volskar and my mic was not working half of the time. Somehow I lost only 5810 to 8850, so it was almost a draw, but I thought this is a final score and nothing can be done about it. I was almost depressed after that. Luckily,  Volskar agreed to re-play this song with me, this time with slightly better working mics, so I won this time no problem. That saved me from a serious breakdown, as – I know, I’m bitching around – karaoke was the main point of the con for me and I would not stand losing the first song when it was not even my fault. I only accept being defeated by a living thing! So basically, for that what you did, Volskar: Thank you a lot, friend!

At the end, I scored the second place, right after  mistyjeffyjeffwho won the first place for the second time. He was also the one to eliminate me last year, so conqratz again!

6)Bowling! First one: Kharos, using his „It’s my first time” excuse kept scoring 9 bowls each throw. Well conqratz :D
Secondly: At some point I was too busy with my phone, so when someone shouted „Wasder!” to let me know it will be my turn now, I immediately grabbed the ball and pushed it, seeing the door at the end of the track is still closed, as machine sets up the bowls. I prayed it will open just in time for me not to destroy the door... luckily it did. Almost... xD

Day 4
I slept over the yoga and breakfast :C But then there was a group photo and a fursuitwalk!

ELBOW
I took  Kharos’ camera and started to take photos. At some point, as there ws a big group photo, I decided to take a photo of everyone, both fursuiters and people taking photos of fursuiters! But I slipped on ice. It took me no time to decide that saving the camera is a priority. I covered it with my hand, so I landed on my elbow. Painful at first, I thought this is fine, so I kept taking photos.
Later in bus I looked at the wound. My entire elbow was red, bleeding. I thought this is not fine, but I am not going to bitch out about it. But then, back at the hotel I took a closer look. Two bumps. I thought my bone relocated or something. The pain began to be even worse then. I was taken to a hospital by Cordylus. In meantime I received a message from the Gdakon’s chairman „How can I ban you when you are in a hospital?” <--- MADE MY DAY. Somehow, after one hour I was out even if I was a low priority patient. No relocation, nothing broken. Suddenly, pain was away and I could move my arm. Placebo effect is a powerful tool. Tell someone they are fine, they will be fine. Tell them they are dying, they will die. So, I was back in hotel for the loterry. As my number was picked, again the chairman commented „I thought I sent you to a hospital for good!”. Made my day #2. Then, I won puzzles! „These are perfect for two hands” – Made my day #3.

Well, Gdakon was somehow over now. But nah, that was just a beginning of the greatest party – the pineapple cult party! But, I shall not spoil the secrets of the pineapple cult, I am already pineapple cursed, no? :P


Day 5
I missed yoga and breakfast again :C

Everyone are leaving. Con is over :C WHERE ARE YOU GOING PEOPLE, STAY WITH ME. STAY ON THIS GLORIOUS CON!

So, I spent most of the day talking with  Volskar,  Petephin and  Shingen... Also this video was recorded (You will recognize me easily):

And then Dead Dog’s Party! I was happy to learn the hotel staff actually liked the furries and I can’t wait to see them again next year :D

Day 6
Trip back home. This day was the most unlucky day I had in a few years now.

1)My elbow was in a really bad shape so I couldn’t take care of my own luggage. Luckily I had  Svartrav’s support all the way home, except for the last 300m where I had to walk somehow holding a big bag, 2 placstic bags, suitcase, backpack and a sign myself and I barely managed to pass a single pedestrian crossing in time...

2)We left early for train (no.1) so we would have 20 minutes of spare time to catch a train (no.2) that will take us back to Cracow in time. But, the train no.1 broke down, so we needed to get into train no.3. When we arrived, we had less than 9 minutes to get a ticket for train no.2.

2b)The train was somehow not in the system, so it took 7 minutes to print a ticket... When we reached the train, its departure was in like half a minute.

<Ok, we reached Cracow without any major issues>

3)I needed to buy a new bus ticket for a semester in Cracow. I prefered to do this with a human being at the ticket-selling point, but friend told me to use a ticket machine that we will be passing by anyway. As I had not rational excuse not to use a machine, I gave up and decided to do it. So I insert my electronic ticket card in order to update it, I insert money... and money is neither accepted, nor given back. F**k, that was 100zł, like $35! GIMME MY MONEY BACK YOU STUPID MACHINE. So, we made a call... yes, I got the money back, but after a week.

4)Finally at home. I am sick of this trip, so I decided I will go get a pizza. So I did, but then on the trip back home I decided to buy a 2l bottle of cola in a local shop. It was 2 times more expensive than it is supposed to be in a typical shop, and I just lost an amount of money that is enough for me to live for a week, but ok, I bought it. Then, on the trip back home I dropped it in a bus. A small hole appeared in the bottle. Effect: I couldn’t see the small fountain of sugar water making wet my pants, boots, bus seat and elevator. I am so glad I did not place this bottle next to my laptop or something. Annoyed, I poured this cola into a sink. MAKE THIS DUMB DAY END ALREADY.

Day 7 till now.

Title is self-explanatory. I made a deal I'll manage to reach 800 watchers here on fa. I've got 800 on dA. Let's see if I can grant the similar amount among the furries!

Now, for the longed journal part:
I'm finally quitting the call-center job. Feel free to ask about how it was, I got plenty of silly quotes from there. Now, why am I mentioning that job? Because it taught me how to spend 8 hours a day in front of laptop doing something else than playing games and watching youtube, so spending that time on drawing will make me feel very happy. So here I am, asking what should I draw to get more than 100 views per artwork while having 750+ watchers!(on deviantart) because I am eager to draw again, but... for who? and what? Tell me, comment me, note me!

Another thing I'd like to share is the fact I'm going to study soon (accountancy and controlling), so again: I think of opening commissions (after I practice, of course) for the obvious reason and working on them in certain hours like a job to make sure I'll actually make them in a week. I wonder how long will it take before someone will make me realize that NSFW artworks are worth way more xD

Also, I bought myself a laptop. Funny thing: this laptop was advertized by my colleagues at work some time ago and now I bought it xD It is a great, cheap gaming laptop (hp omen 15), but it has one, huge con: It has a pretty bad adobe RGB display. making everything yellow-ish, so if my artworks are weirdly colored: let me know, because I am not able to verify that myself! Even now when I look at my avatar I feel like I'm more yellow than green...

So, I've been on  Gdakon and it was my first con ever. I enjoyed it a lot and here is my story from it:

Day 0
I arrived a day earier. I was called by my lizard brother, Cordylus to meet him. Walking out of the hotel, I saw him in his car. I entered it without hesitation and then noticed Cordylus was wearing a white doctor coat. Riding his car through the dark woods, he told me he's about to examine me. I wasn't sure what to think, as it sounded creepy. We got into the hospital. After signing up some papers, I was taken into the room and asked to lie down and keep still. He asked questions, put sharp tools into my mouth... My teeth is fine. He just needed someone for his dentist studies. XD

Day 1
Waiting for con to begin, I hoped to hunt down some people I met on the internet. As some S***ty Gnolli was trolling me, hiding his ID, it took me a while to catch him. I managed to get into a conversation with him and a Japanese guy - Yoshi. Shouting "Sudoku Suzuki" is not a proper way to greet an Asian. This day for the first time I took part in karaoke. I am great at keeping the right tone, but I screw up singing with a right voice... Something for something, at least I won all the duels I had.

Day 2
Polish people were hiding somewhere, so I spent almost the entire day talking with foreign people. Spent some time showing the "not-black-enough-to-have-an-afro" American Girl how Polish folk dances looks like. I loved her comment "Ah, so that's what having a culture looks like!" Anyway, board games and some bollywood movie, what else is needed to have fun?

Day 3
Drawing contest. I was hurrying for the field game, so I spent 30 minutes on drawing instead of allowed 60. Still, I managed to get 5th place out of 14. I'm satisfied and motivated to draw again! But firstly let me pass the school final exams... 2 months. :D

Now for the field game: With Japanese guy and 2 Polish we reached the starting point in center of Gdańsk. We arrived last. Having a task to find a place secured with 4 lions, we went to Poseidon's statue, as there were 4 lion's heads on it. Solving the quest given by one of organisators, we hurried to the next person, who turned out to be a final one. "You're the first ones to arrive" he said, before turning us away, because somehow we missed 3 people on our way. Even if Poseidon's statue fits the given description, is was not a statue we were supposed to find on the first place. It took us 40 minutes to get to the actual beginning and well… We had lost, but at least we had fun completing the tasks without the time pressure. xD

After the dinner, there was a fursuit competition in the hotel. Fursuiters were devided into two teams. For their last challenge, they asked for 2 volunteers from the public and as you all know me – I just had to sign up. Their task was to make a furry costume, using duct tape, fur plates, feathers, foil, baloons… Well, I could barely move or see, but at least we won (even if officially I was signed as a member of the opposite team!). That's how I became an official "Furry Trash 2017" and a traitor of the "Technology" team. :D After the comptetion was over, the organisator tried to free me, but some russian wolf used the foil to tape him to me. People trying to take photos from the close distance were joined to us with tape and foil as well, so after a minure I was a center of a big furry ball of around 15 people. YEY.

Day 4

Karaoke contest.. I was doing pretty well, but at one point I mistook the microphones and watched the wrong tone-meter on the screen, so when my opponent was singing the wrong tone – I adjusted my voice, and if he was singing the right tone – I kept the tone all along, eventually ending up singing everything wrong! I was happy to win again, but then it turned out I actually lost. I'm not that mad about it. xD Anyway, conqrats to  mistyjeffyjeff, who was the only one who ever beat me in karaoke and the one who won the entire contest later on.

At the end of the con, we had a lottery. Someone picked up number 26. Sadly, number on my ID (wasder26) did not count as a lottery coupon. But I was chosen later on, having two possible prices to win. An epic wolf clock or a bar of chocolate. I wanted to get something to hang on my wall and… I did! It's possible to nail a chocolate, right?

Day 5
Last day party and one of best hours of the entire meeting. Music, duct tape, foil, cards and more duct tape: putting people tied to the chair into the elevator and sending them places, dancing in plastic bags (Furry trash!), asking portuguese how well do they speak brazilian (Don't try that. Really. <But feel free to ask  petephin that question if you like!>), keeping russians away from the alcohol (failed attempts). Shame on all those attendees who missed it because they thought it'll be a table-sitting party.
Later on, when we were cleaning the stuff up, I was holding all the plastic bags in my hand and then I sent my Japanese friend to search for them, as I didn't realize where they were. Took me a while to notice. XD Yes, I was sober, but sleepy lizards don't work so well.

Day 6
I did not rent a hotel room for this night and somehow fell asleep at 4 AM under the hotel reception for 5 minutes, but luckily nobody noticed. I managed to survive the night thanks to some furs help. tried not to fall asleep on my way back home... Yes, 5 days is the perfect length for a con. Now I can rest!
