We do hope you'll give it a shot and that it grows into something we can offer on every mobile platform, but we can't do that without your help in spreading the word, sharing your likes and dislikes, issues, and more as we progress. In the meantime please feel free to watch our page
yiffr and of course we are also on Twitter, Facebook and our website as well.
Last but not least, if you missed it. We fixed the issue and the app is running properly, we also introduced an update to Google Play so your phone should warn you about that today. Any duplicate accounts will expire automatically and we will clear out those that don't over the next day or so.
Thank so much for everything guys!

A Big Hello in any other language you may speak!
A wonderful suggestion from
djsprinkles has lead to the creation of an even easier directory for us. Google Maps!
Genius you say? Yes well, I just said I can't take the credit sooo....
Anyway, I know a lot of you have filled out the directory questionnaire and I've been so swamped I haven't really been able to
transpose anything as of late into the public directory sheet. This idea makes it a lot easier, because you can go in and drop your
pin, fill out the information and be done! You can use my pin as a guideline. As I stated in the description, please do not go more
local than your neighborhood with your pin. We don't want creepers!
That being said the Map is by link only which means, don't go spreading this link around without permission from us. This is to protect
you guys as much as possible while still being open to allow you all to connect.
For those of you who have filled out the sheet, feel free to just use my pin to re-do your info on your own pin. If I see anyone hasn't updated
their pin that is in the directory, I'll do it as I can. It's hard to do all this all by my lonesome! So won't you please check out our earlier journal
about volunteering? Puleeze? You all stated you really want to see this group grow active too, but it can't be done alone and we both know that
is why it's failed so many times before.

Do Ya Do Ya Do Ya Do Ya...... Wanna Volunteer!

Romper here, hope you are all enjoying this amazing weather across the state! I know I am!
As you all know there is now a website in the works, a store (which may shift to a different vendor), FA, Facebook & Twitter.
It would be awesome to see you all keeping up with us out side of FA, but we of course understand if you don't wish to! sad panda
The big thing is, I personally don't want the group to go stagnant again and that's a two fold process. First it takes people who are interested and interact with the group as a whole. You as members have to want to make this group happen, take pride in it and yourselves as well as communicate what
you want to see happen! xD
But it also takes leaders and planners and I'm realizing that we can definitely use help! I think the biggest issue for Washington is it's either east or west of the cascade mountains and that really divides us and often leave the eastern half feeling left out. So I've got a few ideas up my sleeves to make everyone feel more welcome and part of the group. But again, I'll need some help.
So here it is, below is a list of positions that are up for filling, please note that I want you to be serious about this. I'm not asking your whole life but expect to dedicate some of your time to the group if you do join.
Region Managers
There are 3 positions available. Puget Sound Region, Spokane Region and Tri-Cities Region. As Region Manager you will be responsible for overseeing events in your region of the state. This means, conferring with those in your area about ideas, events and just general ways to get together. You will also confer with the other Region Managers when plans are made for contests, give-a-ways, and state wide events. All Region Managers will also be moderators for FA, FB & Twitter so it helps if you are well versed in these.
Webmaster
I am not by any means good at building websites, with that being said it would rock if someone with good HTML and web-building skills [i]bonus if you are also an artsy fur[/b] could take over the building of the site or I fear we may never see it done. It will be your job to plan, build and maintain the site. Of course I will do my best to update what's on the site when need be. We don't want you to live at your computer after all :3
So that's it for now, we may need more volunteers as time goes on. If you'd like to apply for one of these positions I simply ask you note us with your interest and a decent but not large paragraph as to why you would like the position and how you will work to help WaFurs grow and succeed. Oh and I'm sure the region managers will ask for help during get together events and such so have no fear about feeling left out.
I really want to see WaFurs grow and connect. Let's show all those other states Washington is the best and who knows, perhaps we will grow so large that we may have our own Con some day haha! Let's try and convince all 500 of our members actually participate!

Introducing, The Swag Bag! Oooh's and Aaaahh's
This fun little section is completely devoted to bringing our local state artist's and their work to live in a way we can all enjoy it! T-shirts... Possibly more once we get it going well... Oh and don't worry, any artist who submits their work to be used will be compensated most assuredly! ^^
Feel free to see what we've got lined up so far, it's small but we hope to see it grow as the artists and our members interest grows.

I just wanted to apologize for the dead air lately and my absence, I've started a new job and then I got sick! D:
I've been dying over here, laying in front of my big computer monitors watching hulu like a divorced house wife! It's maddening!
A am gonna throw the contest results out right after this update so you will all be updated on that and I am slowly working on the next
edition of our newsletter, which by the way I would love to hear feedback and suggestions on. I can't keep coming up with all the good stuff ya'll!
Anyways, back into my blankets and warmth, the worst part being my 23rd b-day is tomorrow! *cries*
But no matter what! I am getting out of this house today to go see Chimpanzee! I gotta help save them with my expensive movie tickets! *smirks*

In fact, right from the website landing page you can even be one of the first people to sign up to receive our monthly newsletter that starts next month!
The newsletter is a new way to share what's happening in the group and across the state. Hopefully it'll even introduce you all to some things you might now have known. WA FURS Spring Logo Contest Update!

Just a quite group wide update since new comments to journals aren't added to your notifications. Please note we still only have one entry. As many of you as there are and as many of you that are artists I know I'm hoping for a little more participation and motivation! ^^

Just a quite group wide update since new comments to journals aren't added to your notifications. Please note we still only have one entry. As many of you as there are and as many of you that are artists I know I'm hoping for a little more participation and motivation! ^^

WA FURS Spring 2012 Logo Contest

Today is the start of our search for a new logo for Washington State Furs and we couldn't be more exited!
So here it is, the lowdown on all things contest related.

The contest will carry on until April 5 2012 at which time any other entry will be rejected. The winning artwork will be used for non-profit purposes solely for representation as the groups logo across the internet and possible gear/swag. If any money from this gear/swag is to be made, a prior agreement with the artist will be made as to how to split the earnings. As stated earlier once we relieve at least two submissions a polling link will be released. I don't know about you guys, but we sure are excited! Oh and we almost forgot after the contest ends we'll pass the idea around for a bulk order of the t-shirts to see who else might want one! ^^
So in the famous words of Suzanne Collins....

Rules
1. The art must visibly show pride for both the fur community and the State of Washington.
2. The art must be PG. If selected it will become the new logo and be show across all WAFUR sites.
3. The art must be unique, plagiarism won't be tolerated.
4. Submissions may be submitted to WaFurries to be moderated before displaying in the submissions area. (Include your FA username for referencing plz)
5. Submissions will be voted on publicly by all members of WAFURS and the winner decided on by popular vote via an external poll. (More on that later)
6. Just have fun! This isn't a presidential election ya'll
Prizes
The winning submission will not only be our new logo, but the winning artist will receive a free t-shirt with his/her new logo to sport their pride! Not to mention the swag of being awesome!!!

As we were catching up from the weekend a thought occurred. It's 5 days until April and we only need 5 more watches to hit 500!!!
Pretty good if we say so ourselves! It's nice to see so many of you out there in the Evergreen State!
I myself have seen a few new watches since I've taken over and I'm happy to say that. ^^
Don't forget, if you're on twitter you can follow us @wafurries cause you know, we rock! Gotta make our mark on the twittersphere too!
Last but not least, watch out for the new logo contest launching later today! xD

Many attempts have been made to create a directory for the Furs in Washington and I applaude
for their valiant efforts.
This time however we are going to try it a little differently! Thanks to the almighty power of Google!
Ooohs & Aaaahs
We shall have you fill out a tiny and brief questionaire that will compile everything needed to create an auto updating directory of furs through out the state.
The goal being that if you wanna know who lives nearby and how to reach out then just click here! No not yet! It isn't ready!?!?!?
So, without further a do, please go check out our questionaire and let's get this think rockin'!

Yes, Yes *gasp* an announcement for us after over a year and boy is it about time don't cha think?
Biggest news is that the page is under new management. Someone who was saddened to see this page so stagnant with so many members and he stepped up to the plate. So you'll see a lot of stuff change around here but hopefully all for the better.
Some of the things you'll be seeing is the Find A Fur idea reborn and brought to light for everyone to keep up on. As well as a monthly newsletter like journal that will include New Membershoutouts & a Local Artists section to name a few. Oh and also Upcoming Events.
Also keep an eye out as we are planning on holding a contest for a new logo for the group. With some nifty prizes I might add!
Well ladies & gents that's all there is for now. At least that we are willing to share! Can't spoil all the eggs it's not Easter yet...
