You ever wonder why there are so many holidays that have some kind of tangential relationship with stuffing yourself and/or getting fatter at the end of the year? Makes you wonder. That being said, to get fed until you explode!

Another Howloween, and yet I feel the same. Whole planet's going bonkers, and we're just living through it. Hopefully everyone has a good one today, and eats enough candy to end up immobile the next day!

So, not sure if this is something that's happening to anyone else but gender has seemingly been removed from images and as a search criteria. Anyone know what's up with that or if it's just something on my end?

Has anyone else felt like this holiday has run it's course? With how little we already trust each other, plus how assholish people can be normally, on top of how many of us already expect the "pranks" before they even happen, it just doesn't have the impact it used to have.

May you find love and contentment with your significant others, comfort in yourself and them, and enough chocolate to burst your belt with!

Another birthday. 33 years old, and so much has changed. And yet.. so much that should have has not. It's a weird feeling, being where I've been for over half a decade, except somehow worse. Honestly? Not a fan of the way things have been. Lost contact with so many people. And others who have drifted away other time. I miss the friends I've lost, but that's not going to turn back the clock.

Only thing I can do, is keep going forward. Not a matter of choice.

After going around town, a lot of other issues cropping up, and help form good friends, power has been restored. However, I cannot say for how long it'll stay like that. Getting so sick of always having to plug holes in this sinking ship...

Long and short of things.
The shitty place I've been staying at has given up the ghost. Something went bang and we have no power. Everything we tried has made things worse. Temp is going down to single digits. No family left outside of who is here, no friends around here, and none abroad that can help me. No job, no car, was never even taught how to drive. It's the worst it's ever been for me, and I don't expect to make it to next month without a miracle. Every effort, every plan, has failed. I do not know what will happen to me now.
And I am scared.


Update: If I can scrounge enough $$ I might be able to get an electrician out here. Not sure if they'll come today even if I can get the dosh. But it might be my only shot at getting power back on.

Update 2: Thanks to some friends, I got enough money for electricians to come out here. Here's to hoping.

Well, the election is over. Hopefully now people will have to find literally anything else to talk about. At least for the next 4 years.

Yup, it's that time again. Today's my birthday, make of that what you will.

Saying goodbye to 2022 and hello to 2023 I am left to wonder what the new year will bring? I've always just seen it as just another day but with a number ticking over. Regardless, here is to hoping that things will be, if not better, less bad than it was this year. Anyone looking forward to anything in the incoming year?

Okay, this has been a long time coming, but it has to be said. I'm not calling anyone out in particular, as this has happened more than once, and frankly I'm just not that kind of person. But we need to have a talk about raccoons. Or, more specifically, about shortening "raccoon" down to just "coon" as that seems to be some major issue for some furs.
Let me just state now, that I will never stop using the term "coon" when referring to raccoons, as that is what they are but a couple of letters short. Apparently, "coon" is a derogatory/racial slur used against people of colour. But let me just ask you something. Does that actually matter in this context? Because, unless this anthropomorphic animal is, somehow, related in some major way to that ethnic group, I do not believe it does.
And, on that same vein, can we please just collectively calm our tits on this sort of thing? Getting offended FOR a person/group of people/whatever-else-could-possibly-offended-by-whatever is just plain abnormal to me. In all likelihood, said group either does not know about, or care about, one random furry on the internet looking at an anthropomorphic raccoon and typing "coon" instead of "raccoon" when referring to them, let alone any other similar situation. If they get offended, that's one thing. But you getting offended because you think they should be offended by someone/thing/whatever ties my brain into a knot.

Seriously, have I just totally lost the plot here, or something? Or has context well and truly died in this day and age?
