Birthday
Posted 10 years agoIt was my birthday Wednesday...
and it could not have been worse.
Literally, my family forgot, as did most of my friends :/ put me on a big downer I'm clawing my way back from now...slowly.

Agent for my novels...
Posted 10 years agoFirst reply from an agent...
Dear Dominique,
Thank you for sending me Torn Loyalties and for giving me the opportunity to consider your work.
While I enjoyed reading your submission, which stood out from the many we receive, I'm afraid I didn't feel strongly enough about the material to take it further. I'm sorry not to be writing with better news. I hope another
agent feels differently.
I wish you every success with your writing.
Best wishes,
Felicity Blunt

Christmas Wishlist!
Posted 11 years agoThis is my Christmas wishlist...and it's simple.
I would LOVE amazon giftcards, as I want to get a 2DS with one of the new pokemons - they come to about £140 - so FAR beyond what I can get. My email address for amazon is thewolfes(at)hotmail.co.uk

Proofreading
Posted 11 years agoI'm looking to do a proofreading course to earn some money...but...it's going to cost £220 (can provide proof, I've received a 25% discount) I've set up a GoFundMe fundraiser. Please share/think about donating. Whatever I earn when I pass the course will be split between myself and a charity close to home!

Pretty sad...
Posted 11 years agothat I won't be receiving any taxidermy stuff this year for my birthday :( People just can't afford anything...and with my canine addiction...it's just not cheap :( Damn the UK.
Can anyone help?
Posted 11 years agoI've got a photoshoot booked for in 3 weeks time...and no makeup/hair-dye to use for it. If it weren't for the fact that I'm promoting myself as an author in two weeks, I'd be fine - however I'm penniless until the week AFTER the photo-shoot. If anyone can help me out with a donation, I can do an oracle card reading in return.
Looking to raise £40, as that'll cover everything I need :D
thewolfess[@]hotmail.co.uk is my email.

RIP
Posted 11 years agoRosie, Willow and Gunner.
In 72 hours I've lost both my chipmunk babies (one to an attack by his brother, another to unknown illness) and my hedgehog to old age. I'm heartbroken. I'm gonna save money to get some rats in a month or so. I can't not have something small to cuddle with.
If anyone can donate anything towards me getting them, my paypal is thewolfess[at]hotmail.co.uk - I need to get the rats, a cage and accessories. Around about £100 for the cage and accessories, I have the rats already in mind.

Dragon in the Post
Posted 11 years agoOne day Gareth receives an egg box and out of it hatches a Firecutter, a dragon to burn a hole into another world - Magical Blistag!
This is a Kickstarter project for Phoenix Ark Press. There are many great rewards for donations from as little as £3. Some of the rewards include a Skype chat with David Clement-Davies - author of Fire Bringer, The Sight and Fell, an invitation to the launch party in London (or a video conference link to the party, so it feels as though you are there from your own home!) and even the chance to work with David as a writer!
If you can't actually help to fund this project, then perhaps you could tweet or share on Facebook so other people can! If you have young children who would love a magical dragon - well this is for you and them! Check out the video and remember - the money isn't taken unless the project is a success! Let's make this a roaring success!

Chainmail raffle!!!
Posted 11 years agoFree Art Raffle (not me)
Posted 11 years agoEmergency!
Posted 11 years agoOpening up for *1* 10,000 word commission - that is £50/$82 as I'm urgently in need of money at the moment. In return you will receive 10,000 words in a 'short' story form from a multi-published author, edited to the best of my ability and ready to be uploaded. The last time I can accept this is Tuesday night - I know its short notice but I'm only just aware of my money issue. This 10,000 word story can contain no more than FIVE characters, of which I will need/ask for descriptions and the major plot. This will take me no more than a week to complete!
Writing Terms and Conditions!
-I will write about Fantasy, Horror, Violence, Anthro, Mystery, Mythology, Sex/prOn's, Mild Bondage, M/M, F/F, M/M/F, Herm etc, Cubs & Pups, Feral, Adventure....gods anything your mind can come up with!!
-I will NOT do cartoon-TV characters such as MLP, Pokémon, Digimon etc . (The ONLY time I will write about these is if you genuinely have a fursona based of them or if we come to some sort of agreement about pricing.).
-I most definitely WILL NOT write about: Diapers, Scat, Fat Furs, Inflation, Cubs, Unbirth, Vore (any kind), Harsh Bondage, Torture, Watersports, or other such things I find degrading to a fur. You can always ask if I haven't got something listed here, I am open to writing a whole heap of things just keep in mind the main things I really won't write about.
-Once you commission me it is a closed deal I will then note you for your email address so I can work with you more easily. I will do my best to meet your expectations, if you need something re-written I'll work with it, but I do have a limit of changes per story. Anything past my limit and I will charge considering there's a lot of time and effort involved.
-You can commission as anonymous, this means I will not post up any names within the story of who it is that commissioned the piece, but if you wish to upload it then I ask you do at least link back to the original piece.
-Please understand that I can only work with as much information as I am given be it with characters, plots, time lines etc. So ensure you have passed on as much if not ALL the information I require, I cannot make a mountain from a mole hill! The less you give me to work with in a story, the shorter the story, don't ever be afraid to give me loads of detail! If you can't, then just try to tell me what you would really like and I can lengthen a story with what information I have.
-Once you commission me and have received the final piece there are no refunds. I will do the stories to the best of my abilities and will do my best to make sure you enjoy it. If I refund you, I WILL take out a certain amount if I've already done work on your story. In the case of a series I'll charge my normal rate. If it is a normal story depending on where it is currently finished at, as to what I refund. You might get a full refund if I haven't started anything on it or have only just outlined the basics.
-Payment is due in either a partial or in full amounts. If it's partial I WILL wait to finish the story until I receive full payment or I'll work on another story if it's a series. No exceptions! You have 3-5 days for the short stories (up to and including the 10,000 words commission), and I allow two weeks for payment to go in for all other commission pieces, from the day you accept a commission from me.
-If you have any difficulties in payment or emergencies please NOTE ME and I will place your commission on hold. If you do not pay, or do not finish a payment I will wait two extra weeks after that you don't get your story & I can/will refuse to work further with you again.
-I will not use short stories as a base for series. Sorry, short stories are designed to be short sweet and to the point. If you want a series save up and get a bigger commission.
-If you are getting a series done, please understand that character and plot building does take up quite a bit of work, especially if there are multiple characters involved. I'll need to introduce with back-stories, even with a single sexual based theme. This is nonnegotiable. I'll not sacrifice good story content just for smuttiness.
-You can ask to use my characters in a story, but if it's not something they would do I won't accept. This is mostly with sexual content however.
-You can re-upload any submission that you commission all I ask is that if you wish to do so then give credit where credit is due and link back to the original piece.
-If you choose to cancel the commission...you will receive NO refund.
- I only take paypal payments and in GBP (Great British Pounds) only, please ensure to leave your user name is for & you can send the funds to the following account:
thewolfess[at]hotmail.co.uk
-My turnaround time: I'll try my best to have the stories done within a week or two for the short stories, three to four weeks for the larger short stories and anything from a month onwards for mini-series, series, novelettes and novels; ALSO it will all be depending on how snowed under I become with my own writing, and also, please take into account I do have a life outside of my writing.
Alternatively, you can donate to the above address and my lungs (and I) will be ever grateful!

New Years Resolution
Posted 11 years ago2014 New Years resolutions.
1. I will not be putting my writing ahead of everything else. If I'm going to lose weight, I need to get out and start doing fun things again. I'll still take it seriously, but I need to do other things and remember what it's like to do things.
2. I want to come to like myself more. That means I either make the changes I need to, or I learn to love myself as I am instead of constantly putting myself down. I need to gain some of the confidence I've lost.
3. I want to explore new places and learn new things. This year will be about bettering myself, in any way I need to. That means more classes to make me a more rounded, better writer, better discipline when writing and implementing all research into my books.

Reposting Christmas List!
Posted 12 years ago-Edit- Already got one gift through and a few shouts - so I'm already a happy wolf! I'm kinda...blegh about the whole Christmas thing, with being ill and my mother not bothering again (I live at home and I'm her carer) so anything more would probably make my year!
Xmas Meme
STEP ONE
# Make a post to your journal. The post should contain your list of ten holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a christmas icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV"). The important thing is to make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
# If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) can get in touch with you. Your home address is not required!
# Make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your journal, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.
STEP TWO
# Surf around your friends list (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now, here's the important part...
# If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes one person's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use - or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free - do it.
# You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf - to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not - it's your call. There are no guarantees with this project, and no strings attached. Just... wish, and it might come true. Give and you might receive. You'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
Here's my list.
1. For the people in my life to be happy.
2. For my health to finally improve...
3. Anything wolfy related! (email address is thewolfess@hotmail.co.uk)
4. I'd love anything on my amazon wish list - it comes straight to my house :D http://www.amazon.co.uk/registry/wi...../16TS6GGWV8S1R
5. Hugs
6. Art - anything with white wolves. It can go with my books!
7. Good wishes :D It's meant to be the season of goodwill, right?
8. Another wolf adopted in my name - I want lots of wolves for a friendly wolf army! (email address is up a little way!)
9. A donation to Artisan Rarebreeds - they are the charity I sponsor above all else. Season of giving, so give to the people who clear up after others, right? Their paypal is Artisanrarebreeds[at]gmail.com
10. Wow...struggling here...erm...some happy shouts :D I want to feel loved!
If people follow this...and link me to their journal if they do this then I will be able to read it and maybe help a few people get something they want, IF I can.

Do you want to be published?
Posted 12 years agoSO! We’ve decided to extend the deadline from November 30th to December 30th, to give people a chance to join in! This is an anthology for a charity, so you’ll get no proceeds from the sale, though you will receive publicity, lots of promotion and the opportunity to be spotlighted on at least two blogs, with more than 150 watchers over the both. We will *try* to arrange a blog tour, but if you want to arrange your own publicity for the book, feel free! We can supply, when the book is ready and published, you with graphics for sharing/promoting, and we promise at least one BIG author name for the book.
The charity the funds are going to is Artisan Rarebreeds – a rescue dedicated to the conservation of rare breeds. The money we are raising is specifically aimed at the wolves, as they are an added drain on their funding. There will be publicity offered by these, too, as they are willing to do what it takes to get the book out where it belongs. Showcase your talent and find a place to show off what you can do! We will offer you an ebook version in return for your entry, which you can read through yourself. We will arrange reviews and everything else for you :D
You can enter 4 poems or 2 stories…or 1 story and 2 poems. At least two will be successful!
Now – the rules! (It has to be done, I’m afraid!)
• This is a wolf-themed book. That means NO shapeshifters, wolves that have been transformed from humans, or anything other than four-legged quadruped wolves.
• Magic is okay…as long as the wolves don’t transform (yes, we are strict on this bit, so we aren’t giving anyone leeway!)
• A wolf talking to other wolves or even to other animals is okay – with humans, it’ll be dependent on whether magic was involved in the effort or the world you are working with.
• Please…NO NO NO violence towards humans. We want to show wolves in a positive light, hopefully to teach people more about them.
• Stories have a word-count limit! 1000 words is the barest minimum (we will accept 75 words under, maybe 100 at a push) and 5000 words is the maximum (100 words is the most we will accept over)
• Poems have a limit of 40 lines per poem.
• Keep cussing to a minimum please, and if writing from a wolf perspective…maybe get creative instead of effing and blinding?
• Please, please edit your stories for us! We can run through them, but there’s not much we can do. We can’t afford to pay for a proper editor.
• Have fun! We don’t want this to be hard to enter, but we’re trying to make sure all entries are of a good quality :D

Never again...
Posted 12 years agoNever, ever having a gastroscopy (camera down the throat) done again! They lost my notes, sedation failed, I was sick 10 times while they were actually doing it and they didn't cap off my cannula, so I bled everywhere. AND...I have a hernia as well as gallstones...I'm SCREWED.
KrisPup is giving away $1111!!!!!
Posted 12 years agoPublished...AGAIN!
Posted 12 years agoWell...after talking to a publisher over on my Facebook, I submitted my monster length novel, Power of the Song for their consideration for publishing. This was while I've been ill...on the 28th September. From then on I had the most impossible wait...until last weekend. I got asked for a more in-depth synopsis. I provided it. I got asked for an outline of the book. I condensed 160,000 words down to less than 1700 words. It seemed that did the magic trick...as I heard nothing more from them until I got a random tag in a group to check my email. (See link!)

Cue my delight, enjoyment and shock. Not many publishers will accept a lengthy book...and this publishers are surprisingly good as they provide a service that would normally cost me about $12,000 for a book like my own, plus editing of around $2500, a book cover, promoting, marketing and training me in the marketing. I also have a marketing team of 30 behind me! This means that this book will likely hit a biiiig amount of people...and that...well. That's something I'm looking forward to!
So yeah.
TL;DR - I'm being published again by an awesome publisher sinking about $25,000 into me. How awesome is that?!
