A couple notes:

I started working on the comic a bit. I say that with hesitation because I think it is going in a different direction than I expected, but at the same time, there's this, *duh* moment, too.

I'm not sure if the pages I thumbnailed should come sequentially next in the comic or not.
But I might clean them up a bit and share them anyway. Maybe. I found young Rosco. His backstory. I think it provides a lot of information about where this should go.

I digress.

I graduate in late september. One of the first things I want to do is put together the Prologue into a print book, so those amazing people among you who expressed interest can have a physical copy! I'm going to clean it up, switch out typeset words, stuff like that. It'll be nice, promise.

Lately, as in since February (what do you mean it's halfway through May already?), I've been working two part-time entry-level-ish graphic design jobs. One relates more to branding, the other more to book design, both pretty cool, both with some potential for growth.

I'm also still in school, for another quarter and the rest of the current one (4 more weeks). I love learning, but I'm ready to be out of school again, at least for a while. Life is busy enough without three 'part times.'

Also still working on book covers for one of my favorite fiction writers, Haikujaguar. That's ramping up right now and I'm excited to do some 'real' illustration work again!

The overgrown town where I live has this thing called 'May is Bike Month' and one of my works has a team participating. I've logged over 160 miles so far in may. That's kinda awesome.

I lost my phone, wallet, travelcamera+32gig-card-with-a-lot-of-unsaved-photos and few other small but personal items earlier this week. Stupid move on my part. Put them in a small bag to take on a bike trip, set them on my bike rack, forgot to actually strap them down. First major turn and they were gone, and I was 5 miles away before I realized it. Lots of bums in my neighborhood. Long gone before I got back to look for them.

At least by some miracle I completely forgot to put my keys in that same bag.

I still draw, but lately mostly on bus passes. And for my perspective class this quarter. Lucked into a really awesome drawing teacher for the one drawing class I'm taking at AI. That's cool.

Perhaps you are like me. You’ve been pursuing your creative thing(s) for a number of years, either as a hobbyist, or thinking of yourself as a professional without quite making progress on a professional level. Perhaps, like me, your daily actions don’t quite reflect what you know to be professional behavior.

It is incredibly difficult to act pro all the time. But if we are to make the jump from creating as a hobby to creating as a professional, this is essentially what is required. If we are to be successful in this admittedly difficult journey we have set out for ourselves, we’re talking lifestyle changes here.

To go pro, whatever specifics that entails for a given creative profession, is to sacrifice other things for the cause of one’s work. Not least of which is the sacrifice of some part of the ego that demands to be babied, saying we don’t want to work right now because it is too hard, too boring, too frustrating, or that gosh we’d much rather sit around and do some-other-thing instead.

So my challenge, to you (and to myself!), is to figure out what it means to you to go pro. What are you willing to sacrifice in order to make that happen?

Just a note that I have not forgotten you!

I've just been trying to do a couple too many things at once lately. Band obligations should calm down a bit after this weekend, even if school doesn't.

ONE MORE WEEK and then I will be done with finals projects for the quarter.

I want it to be over! Its sooo stressful to have so much to get done in such a short amount of time. I might not be sleeping much this weekend. D=

I just wanted to let everyone know that I haven't forgotten this comic. This has been my most insane quarter back in school so far, and between that and a new relationship, I haven't had time for extras. The quarter is over in two weeks, and I'm HOPING to be able to wrap up at least a page or two during my (painfully short) break. We'll see.

(Also I kinda hooked up with one of my best friends during FC...) But MOSTLY school has been eating all my time. like hard. I've been trying to catch up with the weekend worth of homework I put off for FC kinda since then. Oops. >_<

BY THE WAY its apparently not a secret anymore that I am also  goddamnanimals and  greencat ... in theory the greencat account is out of commission and I'm primarily using goddamnanimals for clean stuff.

She's got way more followers than me, but any signal boost is a good thing, right?

Hey I'm putting together a promotional bookmark for the comic, to take to the con since I couldn't actually finish the comic in time.

Is there any particular information you think I should include? I'm not sure if I should leave it super simple (web addresses only) or put more information. >_<

I might put together a printed version of the first 6 pages in a tiny zine, also promotional, we'll see!

What is spot UV? You know how on some book covers, there's gloss coating on certain parts of it but not others? That's called Spot UV, and it can make a printed thing look really damn epic.

So I have kind of a dilemma. I realized today that trying to get this done properly by FC is just going to kill me basically and it's not going to be as good as it should be if I spend just a TINY bit more time on it. And I dunno. It would be really nice to have it for the con, but it would also be nice to ... like get everything else done as well.

I think I'm just going to have a bunch(?) of promo stuff available there and maybe take preorders at the con and just focus more on having a good time while I'm there and meet people and network?

I just feel like its such a disappointment if I don't have it done by then, but then this other voice is telling me that's dumb and it would be better to take the little bit of extra time to make it nice, and I can mail them to people, and have them for future cons and whatever. IDK

It has been a CRAZY couple days. omg

I have to finish TEN pages this weekend. I thought I had longer but for reals if I want time to design the book properly and get a proof copy and then approve it and order copies for the con... Hoh boy.

I got like six pages sketched out today, though. Page 16 will be up in the next hour or so... And I need to finish like three pages a day all weekend. Will I pull it off?!?

I'm setting up to do a test print of my comic. I've got nine pages left to do, and a whole lot of layout work ahead of me.

I'm not sure yet whether createspace will print it for me. They accept erotica but not porn, so I'm not sure what they'll consider my comic. If they don't take it, I probably won't be able to get it bound, and will be buying a new printer and running them off as print sets.

I'm hoping to get some idea of how many I should order for FC. I'd love to get preorders, I think I'll offer a sketch with preorders, something like that.

I have an idea of how much I'd like to charge, but I'm curious to hear what other people think, as well.

Porn is cool, as are fetishes you've seen me draw. If you haven't seen me draw it, feel free to ask if I'll do it. The only thing at the moment I'm outright nixing is this; I will draw cubs, but only general rated pieces. If it's porn they better be overage.

I'm going to see how much interest there is before limiting the number I will take at this time.

85% done with comic page #2... Yesterday I only got the pencils done because I had some outdoor chores to do (the sun! it burns!) but also yesterday I wrote out several pages of longhand for the first actual story arc... which could easily translate to several dozen comic pages. Which is intimidating. 0__0

Anyway I'm already learning a lot and having fun with it, though it's harder to remember to just relax and enjoy drawing rather than caring too much what the finished 'product' looks like, when it's something I;m starting to actually... care about. Heh

Main characters still don't have names, though I'm pretty sure Demon's name starts with a hard R sound.

Hallooo new watchers and old fans... I have a little bit of a backlog of stuff to scan so hopefully we'll be catching up shortly. What kinds of stuff should I scan first?

Ive been mostly drawing straight in pen lately, which doesnt allow much space for correcting errors. My main goal with my art lately is just to have fun and kinda goof off with it, so please dont take my art too seriously.
