I was looking for some advice on a situation regarding an artist. I'm not going to name names, as I don't really want to slander them, but I'm still waiting on a commission from them from a year ago. It's taken so long that I've straight up changed my main oc, which I finally asked if it was okay to switch too, as I've only ever seen a sketch for this commission.

During this time, they've uploaded MANY more ych, and completed them. Am I being taken advantage of? I don't want to end this with a beware, I've finally asked for a timeframe.

I hate stuff like this lol.

Starting to wonder if this particular situation should end in a behavioral beware, is there someone that’s done them before in the past that could help me out?

Honestly it feels like with the exclusion of a group of very awesome, and talented people, if I steer out of my normal commissioning circles, I get janked, horribly.

Now we're about 24 hours from the day I needed the piece and I'm very much not optimistic it's going to get done, and I just don't have the ability to cover it.

I'm not seeking pity, I just needed to rant a little bit. It's honestly been a good motivator to get better at my own art so I don't have to worry about scrambling around last minute on something that should've/could've been handled months prior.


Just some frustrations.

I'd really love to get more art of my gryphon, Pixi. Does anyone know any currently open artists and/or specific people that specialize in Gryphons? Thank you so much for your help!

Someone who said some pretty vile things about myself and others I care about is now mass uploading pictures of their character and it's awkwardly annoying just -knowing- they're there. Shame a cute character gets ruined by the nasty personality of it's owner.

There's multiple people on another site that owe me commissions, and it's just... bizarre to see them constantly releasing adopts, or selling other pre-made adopts and completing them, then mine is just sitting there. About a month ago they removed me from their 'to do trello' and I asked if they were finished, and they just said they were getting started on it and it would be done tomorrow. It's been about a month since then.

ugh...

I really do understand having artist block, and not being able to work on a certain character design, but at the same time, I feel like it's far better to be open with the person commissioning you. Explain it. At least you've made an effort to express the difficulties you're having.
