(Man, I haven't made a journal since they effectively forced us over to the new site design, and not only is it a pain to find it now, I hate how it looks with the header/footer, thanks, guess I'll have to add my own line breaks.)

Oh and I suppose while I'm posting stuff, a reminder that like the header says, I am still open for commissions and could really use them since I'm barely breaking even on recurring bills and every unexpected expense drains away at my savings.

Harnessing this brief window of time and energy to work through finally uploading as much as I have the spoons for. Oops, it's been a year since the last time I did. I'm very bad at only posting stuff on my friends' discords and sometimes on twitter, but this is still my primary gallery, even as much as I'm behind and neglect it.

Edit: Spam complete for now. I'm caught up to a year behind on my personal art and two years behind on commissions. I have about 50 of the latter and around 30 of the former to go through still. Because my new job and new car put me in a much tighter financial position than I was previously, once all that's caught up, I probably will have very little non-original art to share unless either my finances improve again or people start actually commissioning me so I have funds to spend.

So my last job didn't give me many hours, but within the same month I was offered 'part time' inventory coordinator work for Meijer which has been effectively full time since. Nothing in my position ensures this will continue, beyond how much everyone values and appreciates the work I'm doing. My managers are great, my coworkers could be better at their jobs but aren't awful, the pay is just barely enough to break even, and I now work where I do all my shopping so I get a small discount on buying store brand stuff, which I was already doing because it's much cheaper and decent quality.

I haven't had the energy or spoons to do much else besides work and unwind with games, so I tend to lurk a lot and have as ever let the months pile up without posting anything here. Maybe I'll do a bit of upload spam today. I mostly only socialize on friday nights at the big vrc vore meets I help moderate and a couple private discord servers.

As ever, I still really would like to do more commissions, since I lack the inspiration to draw much for myself lately and could still use the extra funds so I'm not slowly bleeding out my savings whenever I spend on non-essentials.

Exactly five years after quitting Old Time Pottery, I now get to quit Hobby Lobby for an inventory job again. (Two days ago; hilariously through this whole job hunting process, my old FA journals have been the best source for me to look up specific start/end dates for applications.) This time, with an external inventory company that services all sorts of businesses that don't have their own internal team. The work will vary depending on the demands of other businesses, so it's technically part time, we'll see what kind of hours I get out of it, but it's back at the same $17 I was getting at my last proper job, going up to $19 after 8 weeks maintaining a modestly exceptional count rate. (>25% over whatever our given targets are, we'll see how hard it is to excel.)

I'm still eager to draw people stuff, especially when I don't know how many hours I'm going to get to start out and a couple months of not making more than my monthly expenses, which have gone up again because fucking XFinity bumped it up by $25 a month.

Got some part time seasonal work at Hobby Lobby while I wait to hear back from other interviews. Still looking to get motivated to draw more, I'd like to do trades or commissions. Current commission information is here. I'm still charging very little because I want to draw stuff for people.

Also if anyone has some solid recommendations for an entry level drawing tablet with a built in screen, I'd like to give that a shot, if nothing else so that I can draw together with friends remotely, and I've fully determined that trying to use a tablet where I can't see what I'm drawing where I'm drawing it does not work for me.

I've gotten a couple commissions done for people lately, and realized I haven't been good about posting my backlog. It's built up to over two years back for art I've gotten and a year and a half for stuff I've done myself. I'm gonna try to take a big ol' chunk out of that today.

Edit: chunk achieved but I'm still two years deep on commissions and a year deep on original stuff. More tomorrow after my job interview.

The last month or so has uh
not been great for me

Had an infection in my foot I had to get looked at (and which still hasn't technically fully healed yet) to start with, then the next week my car's cooling system exploded and would have been over $5k to fix so I got a replacement, which was a whole rigamarole in an of itself, but was finally resolved, and today I got straight up fired because I fucked up yesterday when processing a store charge due to a coincidence of the guy having the same first name and giving me the wrong account number (two numbers switched around) and me not carding them which would have caught the mix-up. It was something that was probably easily resolvable since they're both city accounts but feels like was a good enough excuse to fire me and replace me with someone cheaper.

So uh. Yeah. If anyone's got job openings that work remotely or are in northwest indiana for someone with an AAS in accounting, a bunch of retail cashiering and inventory experience and not much else, hit me up.

Edit: Oh, and obviously I have an abundance of free time and would be glad to have some kind of income while I wait for my last paycheck so I can file unemployment so if anyone's interested in commissioning me, now's a great time.

Holding myself to getting around to chipping away at this massive hecking backlog, so publicly posting both as a "you're about to have at least like a dozen arts of foxes all dumped on your inbox soon" and as a "Well I said I was going to, I'm accountable to actually do it now".

Edit: Okay, that's enough for now. I've almost finished going through all the stuff from back in 2020, which just leaves the last two years or so of stuff, which is only, uh... *counts* about a hundred and fifty more pieces to go, hahahaHAHAHA I am financially irresponsible.

Remember to consider everything potentially bullshit until sufficient time has passed and tell people who post their 'prank' "I'm quitting art/leaving FA/etc" journals it stopped, well, no, it never was funny, but it became cliche and annoying on top of that after the 3rd or 4th time.

I might try to get more stuff colored (working on commissions too) but I think 20 pieces is plenty for one day. As far behind as I get, I still don't want to burn through my content reserves TOO quickly.

I'm also strongly considering going back and upping my commission prices again, probably another doubling to $10/20 sketch/color, because even if I don't get very many of them as low as I have it, it's really not fair to myself to charge so little for as much time as I put into them, even if it's something I do because I actively want to draw stuff for people. Obviously not going to apply to pieces I've already arranged with people.

They're downsizing a couple departments to be a mix of full time and part time people, including mine, and so I'm being pushed out of it unless I want to drop down from full time to part time (which I can't afford to do) so I'm going back to running registers, but as full time now.
This means starting in a couple weeks, my schedule is going to become wildly inconsistent since instead of having a fixed 6:30-3, it'll be whatever arrangement of hours they want me to cover at any given time (as long as that's at least 40 total) so I'll be even more sporadic about being around/available.

Today was moving day. I'm all settled in. I hope to do a lot more art now that I have the freedom and luxury of living in my own place, but for now, I'm just going to decompress for a bit. Relax, unpack, rearrange things to my liking.

I'll gradually move some bulk/odds and ends stuff over that I won't miss having here since I don't have any more vacation time for the year, and then some time in January get moved in properly, but yeah, just got back from signing documents and going out for lunch? Dinner? Linner (love me some linner)

So huzzah, I shall soon be an independent individual with all the freedom of a place to myself, so I hope to draw a lot more, maybe hang out in voice chat with friends on Discord, and so on.

My offer on a nice little condo a bit less than a half hour from my job was accepted. A quiet little well maintained complex with a car port, one of the two units on the ground floor that also manages to have full appliances despite only being 800 square foot. It'll be another several weeks of inspections and earnest money deposits and all that jazz before I actually take possession of it, but that's a nice shiny island of stability for me to anchor myself to found.

This does mean you'll probably not see as much commissioned stuff from me once I finally burn through this massive backlog, since any spare funds will likely be going into savings or upgrading my PC so I can finally do VR stuff with friends, presuming I manage to find a decently priced good condition graphics card, but I'll also be much closer to my local PC shop so I'll have more opportunity to do so.

At whatever point I'm living there on my own you can also likely expect that I'll be drawing a lot more, what with having the privacy of my own home, but that might be a bit since moving in winter will probably suck and I've got until probably early spring before I need to actually be completely moved out of here. (I didn't mention it but my family did relax on the "hey we'd like to try to get you moved out ASAP" stuff once I'd gotten a realtor and was actively hunting and it was clear there was no way I'd be free and clear to move in somewhere before December.)

33 isn't nearly as nice and neat a number, oh well, another trip around the sun done. Since everyone's being maskless chodes, I'm not doing anything for it, which is fair I guess since we had to skip all my family's last year since they're all in spring.

I blew three vacation days in conjunction with my natural days off so I've got the next six days off, and I'm going to try and get caught up a bit over that period of time with my uploads, since as much as I like to stagger them out, I'm an entire year behind on reposting things at this point. I'll at least try not to dump them all in one go.

Family has officially discussed life plans that mean that sometime in the next year or two, they're going to be moving back up to take care of their parents in Michigan, so I'm on the general lookout for places that are renting near Merrillville Indiana, preferably not up in Gary, and probably not until 2022 because rent's gonna be somewhere between maybe $650 a month if I split something and am lucky, and $1000 monthly before utilities for something single bedroom, which is raising my hatred for housing capitalism, so every month I can delay is hundreds of dollars I don't have to spend.

Because of this, I'm also trying to be more financially responsible. A thousand dollars of rent means I probably can't really afford to keep dropping up to a hundred dollars a week on art, so once I've gone through this big ass pile of backlogged fox art there's probably gonna be less stuff from other people and maybe hey living by myself or maybe a furry housemate would mean being more freely able to draw stuff myself again, presuming I ever have the time to do so. Abolish the 40 hour workweek, comrades.

If the whole tradition could just fuck off, that'd be swell. Hopefully we'll at least get, like, a Homestar Runner upload or something out of it.

With some frequency, I'll see an artist who I'd like to get something from, but they'll have a whole line in their description about how "if your character is described with slurs like herm, futa, shemale, trap, etc, you aren't allowed". So, that leaves me, as someone whose fox IS, in fact, a full, both sexes fully functional hermaphrodite to match their gender fluidity, rather flummoxed. What is the current "acceptable" way for them to self identify? I would like to use less harmful language where I can, but I have no idea what to use in place of the above. Or am I just inherently too problematic for these artists because my idealized self can't naturally exist? (you know, unlike anthro foxes in general. 🙄)

I have a general yearning to draw stuff on my days off, but I am always completely stumped for what to actually, you know, put to paper. Suggest away, anything involving my characters, or maybe other characters if you think you've got something inspirational. If the unlikely has occurred and you see other people having left suggestions already, feel free to work off of those, add your own, whatever, I'd love to be able to keep coming back to this for more ideas. Specific poses are a big plus, but remember that I won't really be working off any kind of references while I'm drawing this kind of stuff.

Also if you really want me to draw your idea, I'm still technically open for commissions? Trades especially. I crave the art more than I need the money from them.

Work continues to be super draining (full time feels so much more than full time when you're in a pandemic, y'know?) so I don't draw often, but I do still manage to get something done like once a month or so. I'm just really bad about posting it on here because I usually want to color it first and I never ever get around to doing that. Apologies for having nothing but commissioned stuff to post lately.

Also throw ideas at me. Simple but lewd things to draw. My main hangup with waking up on a saturday, thinking "I should draw a thing", is staring at the page, with either no ideas, or ideas that are way too complex for me to attempt.

Oh, and I probably won't post another journal before then but hey, my birfday's coming up in about a month, so that's cool I guess; I might treat myself to an extra fancy commission if I haven't suddenly realized that I'm starting to get out of control with them again but it's a coping mechanism to pass the time and feel less awful that's less harmful to my health than my lousy diet, so hey.

I've been mostly been busy with real life stuff; Being told a year and a half into this position that "oh, didn't you know, just because you can leave when you've finished your duties on the weekend shift doesn't mean you don't have to work 40 hours a week." No, I didn't know, because none of y'all said jack about it this entire time. So I'll be working 9+ hour days for the next month, during a pandemic, during escalating social unrest. Fun!

... until my birfday. Another year where I'll be working on it, but at least I have the day after off, probably when I'll actually celebrate it. Sorry I haven't been posting much, I've been too deep into playing Dragon Quest Builders 2 during the time frame I might otherwise draw stuff, and also just generally never seem to have any idea what I'd want to draw.

Realized as I start finding myself actually getting more commissions again that I never did upload a bunch of older ones. I blame a combination of me wanting to give the artists' uploads time to shine and ending up with a bit of a blockage when it comes to artists who haven't delivered. Still gonna pace them out rather than mass upload them, probably.

Also, craving art and whatnot, if you or someone you'd recommend are open for commissions, I'm always looking for more, and ESPECIALLY looking for anyone who'd want to chip in and get one together. There's only so much fun you can have getting drawn without someone to interact with! Collaborating on extra fun lewd things is the best.

I'll maybe draw one of them annual selfie things I've done occasionally if I have any energy to do so on the day itself since I've been working literally every day still and will until then. Lowkey considering dropping the old job presuming my dentist appointment today doesn't result in "oh hey yeah you're gonna need like three crowns and a root canal" or something since the insurance is literally the only reason I'm still doing both. But it also gives me my vision insurance and I still haven't had a chance to get that taken care of.

Edit: Update, glad I have the insurance, because I do in fact need a root canal followed by a crown on it.
