Just gonna bitch on how I'm not super into romance here
Posted 4 months agoI like and empathize with people who love one another, and can fall in love. When it comes to me, I've had crushes and sexual attraction. I've wanted sex with both men and women (and never obtained it). Most people who arouse me are men. Another quality I've realized I have is the interest in romance in the fictional sense. I've liked it as a kid and just kinda outgrew it. I'm capable of a level of romantic attraction, but I don't fall in love easily if at all. I don't feel I should slap on "aromantic" because it can be romantic, but it's value plays minimal role to me. Even if I obsess over someone I just don't yearn for a long distance relationship. It sounds like too much dedication, but I don't have many friends to start. Where would I go with romance? If I did decide on a relationship with zero expectations, maybe it'd work. Some who knew me back in the day might find it crazy I'm 29 and still saying this. I don't know if I'd go beyond dating. And that's that.
I chose to use FA for a regular journal for once so pretend this is experimental.

I think me not drawing scenarios and full bodies is dumb
Posted 2 years agoBut like... I like full bodies, and the other thing. I could be lazy as well, but it's sus to me personally I never/barely draw these two things nowadays. The skills I want are not what I can obtain right away, and I've been drawing with ibis. Ideally my style would look slightly different. I'm very toon oriented and don't draw any realistic or detailed backgrounds either. I want to change some of this... but I give up easily. I don't think I'd enjoy drawing many backgrounds. Drawing houses is boring, but I like houses in cartoons. It's time to try change?
Hmm, my art doesn't reflect my interests much
Posted 2 years agoSomething I notice about my art. I never hoard my interests to eventually make what I'd consider a perfect drawing... even if those interests exist. I'm quite lazy in it. I think I've improved in this over the years, but I just tend to rush everything I do. And I could work on my art style which has remained for a while. Variety definitely would help with that. This is just a thing on my mind I thought I'd address. I hope to see what more I can do. And therapy because I'm prone to some mild but restrictive self hate, though nothing serious.
I take myself with a grain of salt. Some people think I set myself to high standards, but it depends what it's about and where. With art, I've been doing what comes out and believing I should. I fear my thoughts disappearing if I give it time.
Edit: I should be specific that I have a lot of interests. Toon ducks are one. But when I'm drawing, the thing I get isn't exactly the same as the result if I look back at it later. I know it's strange, but that can happen.

My long insight on atheism, religion, and the like
Posted 2 years agoThis started off as a rant on Bluesky that jumped into some deeper introspection and I thought I'd paste this here since I was advised by a friend to be careful on Bluesky, and see their point, as anyone can see my stuff. Though Bluesky 🦋 seems less public than X. These are separated by post/skeet. Enjoy.
Religious people who complain other religions shove their faith down other's throats whilst doing that because they claim their religion is all fact and truth and follows prophecy. Getting "scientists" to stand by them and argue other scientists on issues like global warming.
When the science they support comes from a religious source. If you really claim your beliefs to be true, that is quite the same as what other religions do. Even if you're biblical, my beliefs aren't, as far as I know. Aside from objective wrongs like murder.
Atheism and agnosticism are generally an absence of theism. It doesn't really matter if you like Darwin or not. If you don't believe in a God, you're atheist. If you're undecided or not entirely sure, you're agnostic. And most religion revolves around some set of theistic beliefs.
Without looking into history at all, you can give this some thought and decide on your own terms if you believe in any God. There were points I came to pantheism, but really, I'm pretty agnostic leaning atheist in the anthropomorphic God sense.
Something I don't get about religion is how man made beliefs commonly associated with religion would exist in nature or the universe. It being scriptured isn't enough to get my faith. Humans have many of their ideas documented.
If there is no agnostic atheist, I'm technically agnostic. You can be of religious faith, but it's pretty odd to look down on people for not taking your word for something by default. I would have to have a reason.
It's so strange to consider atheism a religion when the requirement to being one is an overall lack of belief in what makes up most religions. If atheism is wrong, then technically, there is or was at least one conscious divine creator of the universe.
It's not about things other atheists say. Science generally still applies at a large scale, which most atheists support because it's common for religion to deny them.
Gone past the point of tasteful writing. It makes my previous points sound better than the latter.
Btw, my reason for bringing up Darwin is, I never actually read anything about him. I'm missing a good chunk of education and history kind of because of the material I either forgot or was never taught. I can't ask people on the opposing end much because their worldview is generally too simplistic.

I don't agree with everyone who's art I like (updated)
Posted 2 years agoWhile most people who've thought this about me might be alone, because it takes being extra observant to notice such a pointless thing, I should point out that just because I like someone's art or don't think they're necessarily bad, doesn't mean our views perfectly align. I love all kinds of stuff, some are higher on that interest scale than others. I can't just get anyone and everyone to agree with me right away, it doesn't work like that.
Update: This has nothing to do with religion. More like... political views and such. I'm agnostic and pro LGBT.

Regarding commissions/personal writing
Posted 2 years agoSo in case you didn't figure, I'm not really triggered by most dark/taboo content online, especially if it's a drawing. Some of those only if it's a drawing. Those are mostly preferences. There are things I don't want to draw for others but I will kindly go "meh" at, like political art. If you're a political person do whatever you like, I don't gatekeep that in actuality. And I should also mention, I don't draw things that fetishize trans people, to be clear. The pride flags are fine if it falls within gay/rainbow/LGBT, gay/mlm, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, non-binary, intersex, asexual, and maybe non lgbt like it has a straight or straight ally flag in a reference sheet, as long as hate isn't the intention. I'm also fine with commissioners kept anon. I can't draw right now because of computer start up issues, but I'll be taking commissions in the future, which I don't get very often. That is all thank you for reading. If you have any thoughts or suggestions feel free to comment below.
Also, I did just realize pride falls under political. I make an exception for that and might even change this rule in the near future. It's honestly hard to avoid all things political. You might have to ask whether or not I'll draw it, because I'm still kind of 50/50 on it.

I like the update. Also changed my FA description.
Posted 3 years agoI feel like this is more fitting. Both the update and my profile edit. I could spend my time making it interesting, but this works for now. Sorry if you were waiting for decency. Now I just have to work on my art. ;;
If you didn't read the journal over at my other account
Posted 3 years agoI'm staying.
That was to see if I really wanted to move with that username. It's just weird to be called that, so I think I'll stick with WhimsicalBlair for now. Thanks for understanding.

I made a new account
Posted 3 years agoYou can follow me at
if you want. I'll be here from time to time, but I had to test the waters. So here we go. New place. 🎂
I just noticed this now, but the name's not supposed to represent neopronouns, even if you pronounce it that way.
I'll move my butt again if I have to. I'll get the username I want eventually. And if I ever want to come back, I will. So far my social media has this name.

Not sure if it's safe to be active here
Posted 4 years agoOftentimes, I imagine I'd go by a new/different title before adding everything I like to favorites.
Sometimes with a new fursona in mind.
I just feel like the amount I can express my interests are limited on these accounts.
I kind of ruin my own image because on other platforms I drift away from art and discuss the less interesting side of my life. Which is not political per say.
So that might make me less furry, idk.

I should really not fav things on this account
Posted 6 years agoI haven't been so active here lately, but I'm considering making a new FA,
this one being only for my current fursona.
I'm going to avoid adding any art to my favorites here as I've gone past some of what I've done with this one within the past couple years.
Until the time being, I'm still Whimsical_Blair. And will be whenever I want.
Hope it's all considerate and means well
And also sorry for the lack of appropriate communication between me and the few of you.
