Acen was pretty fun. We got drank. Our car exploded and now we have no transportation anywhere and we don't know if it can be fixed or not or if we have to go get a new one (oh well). I got some adorable things, but far less than I wanted to get because of car exploding.

Oh my god. Protomen has all the intense stage presence. It was glorious. My husband smashed me in the face with his elbow. They went on second, after the opening band, because I Fight Dragons was in their hometown (adorable, right?). They also covered Queen’s Princes of the Universe. It was just epic. That man can hit notes like a champ.

I hadn’t heard of I Fight Dragons until that point, but they were pretty peppy. They have this adorable song about fighting hipster zombies. Had everyone sing the Zelda theme song as a closer.

These people behind us wanted to FIGHT us partway through the I Fight Dragons set. I don’t know why. We were in front of them at a general admissions concert, near the stage. Yes, we were dancing and being silly. But… they were behind us and could have easily moved. Instead, they proceeded to be weird about it and one of them threw a drink on my friends (bad aim means she hit both of them! and wasted six bucks in the process!). Then they got their big boyfriends involved. Sorry… you’re wearing a Portal shirt with an adorable mouse on it. You may be big, but you’re not intimidating. Have they never been to something like this? There was a balcony with chairs for those people who don’t want to get bumped!

And so, that was the first of many fights that attempted to break out- in the coat check line, in the line for hotdogs across the street. These nerds, dorks and geeks were just brimming with repressed testosterone that they needed to get out. I have never seen this happen before. The guys who looked like they were there to appreciate the music were very calm and civil and sweet. Everyone else was trying to have the world come at them.

I'm going to go see The Protomen tonight.

I'm really excited about it. You don't even know.

After trying to pack up my house immediately due to retarded things...I've decided I don't really want knick knacks and plushies anymore. Maybe when I'm finally settled somewhere, but we're going to be moving from this place sometime in the next few months and I'd rather not have to pack any more than I have to.

After being lied to for two weeks by our land lord, they decided to "reinstate" our lease. The entire thing is bullshit. Harassment to the finest degree. So, with part of my house packed and a week and a half of the most intense stress ever... nothing is going to happen.

My husband's digital SLR got stolen in DC along with his wedding ring and basically everything he was carrying with him that wasn't on his person. Way to be classy DC.

I need something to just go my way.
I just...ugh... life.

I need a mind vacation.

We've lived here four years with no discernible changes in habits and we got a notice two days ago that we were being evicted. Now, I'm not sure why, they won't tell me (I thought it was one thing, but now I'm suspecting it's something else and that they just allowed us to renew the lease so that they could get more money out of us until they actually needed us out)... nowhere before had they mentioned that being a possibility. They also gave us the lamest eviction notice. Wrong city, this is not 1911 and for a year lease we need to get at least sixty days instead of thirty.

I called the company, but its cold and distant and doesn't give a damn. I've never even met the landlord or the manager. In order to even talk to them, the flaky receptionist told me I had to write a letter and that the manager would be more than willing to talk about us staying (what? i don't even really know what the problem is but now I can beg for mercy?). Well, that wastes precious days when someone thinks we need to be out in thirty. I sent them a faxed letter yesterday. I wonder if they'll just ignore it.

Here's to going out today and finding a new place and citing 'management issues' or 'want to be closer to work' as the reason for moving abruptly. Because, goddamn. I know they're used to working with people who are illegal and don't question anything that looks official and that our last name SOUNDS FOREIGN, but WOW.

If you live in the Chicago area, do not rent from this company, they are downright retarded.

I get to spend the rest of the month packing and finding a new apartment because management is passive aggressive and basically set me up.

They served me the wrong notice and I could technically fight them over it, but they're just such big douches that they don't deserve another penny from me.

My husband has this big deadline approaching for the game he's working on now in order for them to work on this other game that they need to get started in January. So, he's not really home, and when he is its tremulous... at least for me. I gotta walk softly lest he freak out.

I'm trying to get my Christmas presents done as well (knitting fingerless gloves for my husband, but I gotta do it when he's not watching).

Hopefully after Christmas I can get back into my groove. I should have a Cintiq by then, and I can stream and hang out and not have to deal with my sad little laptop anymore.
