When: 7:45pm Saturday
Where: Pizza-my-heart
Why: because we're hungry.
Pizza-my-heart is an fc tradition for me and many of my friends.
Its 3 blocks from the marriot hotel, near psycho donuts so its easily accessible. We'll meet in the marriot lobby at 7:30pm and start walking at 7:45 sharp. The Dance competition is during this time so plan accordenly.. leave a reply if i can expect you.

General | Posted 11 years ago-CLOSED-Good news everyone! I contacted Dave & Busters in Milpitas and Ive reserved the semi-private dining area we had last year. Room is avaliable for 25-30 furries.
Who: Furries; Fursuiters and Handlers
What: Thursday evening dinner
When: Thursday 1/15/2015 @7:00pm
Where: Dave & Busters 940 Great Mall Dr, Milpitas, CA 95035
Why: For fun.
So heres the plan; We can meet at the light-rail train-station in front of the convention center at 6:10. The train arrives at 6:17 so you have a few minutes to purchase your train ticket (it should be $2 unless its gone up). Once we board the train, its a 30 minute trip around San Jose to The Great Mall where we'll depart. Dave & Busters is located on the opposite side of the mall so we'll march through the parking lot and around the mall to Dave & Busters. After we finish our meals, we can play a few rounds of pool and play games until 9:30pm when we'll march our way back to the train-station, purchase another $2.00 ticket and make the 40 minute journey back to the convention center where we'll arrive at 10:33pm.
Rules
We are representing the fandom so please keep your diapers, plushies, yiff-me shirts, bad-dragon toys, and any questionable items in your room.
If you can legally carry a weapon, keep it concealed.
Keep the language G-rated.
No drugs are allowed, obviously. This includes weed.
Nobody is responsible for getting you back to the convention except you. I'll make announcements but I can't chase people who wanna wander around the mall.
Bring atleast $25-30 for food and train-tickets. Dave & Busters isn't expensive, but make sure you don't blow your train-cash on games.

January 3rd
General | Posted 11 years agoSo I've decided to extend my deployment by one month. Instead of coming home December 7th, Ill now be home January 8th. I did this for 3 reasons.
1) Other co-workers want to be with their families during the Holidays. I'd rather avoid the holiday travel rush.
2) A lot of dentist and doctors are closed for the last 2 weeks of the year. That would really screw up my schedule I had to wait to get my new tooth til January.
3) It assures I'll be at Fc2015.
So, I'll see y'all then!

General | Posted 11 years agoAs many of you know, I've considered myself fit enough to go back to work. I'm back in Arizona for training and I'm due to ship out to Afghanistan in early June for a 1 year deployment (or the base shuts down which ever happens first.) I'm really looking forward to providing security to the men and women who fight for freedom. I probably wont be back in Cali for a while but I'll do my best to attend the halloween parade.

FC2014 dinner plans.
General | Posted 12 years agoGood news everyone. I've been planning a fursuit dinner event on Thursday evening at FC2014. Handlers are needed also. I contacted the manager at Dave & Buster's in San Jose and he said he was OK with a bunch of animal costumes having dinner there. They also have billards and shuffleboard for those of us who have skillz. Also, Dave & Busters is about 5 miles away from the con so we'll take the light-rail for $2 each way. Please sign up here so I can contact the manager and give him a heads-up on a head count.

The bowling meet is still on this Sat starting at 5pm.
This may not be the fanciest bowling ally, but they allow us to be in full suit and wear our feet paws while bowling. That is a rarity!!
Also we'll most likely will have the use of the kids play room area room as a headless lounge as usual.
And I'll be bringing my ice chest with water and Gatorade as usual for the fursuiters.

Post Halloween 2013 Report
General | Posted 12 years agoThis year's West Hollywood Halloweeen Parade was a huge success. Big thanks to Growly for organizing it again this year. I had the idea of making a poster-board sign that said, "Ring-ding-ding-ding-dingeringeding!," which was more if a hit than I was expecting. In total, we had 30 furries attend, 18 suiters and 12 handlers, 1/2 of which I never saw. As with all the other We-Ho parades, we furries broke up into our own groups of 3-5 and wandered the parade route. Its amazing how easy it is to loose furry critters in 1/2 million people. And just like the other years, we were stopped every few feet for photos. There was such a large group of us that we actually blocked the parade route when 20-30 photographers would huddle in front of us like we're Hollywood Celebrities. I captured some of the madness on my go-pro but the battery died 1/2 through the parade. Up to writing this journal, I've found 3 news sources that aired our antics on TV plus multiple smaller websites with our photos. And everyday, I'm finding more photos of videos of us. I feel like this Halloween was one of the best so far. 2014's Halloween falls on a Friday so I expect it to be even epic-er. I'll be working on a Halloween Music Video this year so If you have any footage or photos, please sent them my way via skype "Whiskey Foxtrot".
That being said, I feel like I need to apologize to many of my fellow furries; My foot paws were built around a pair of $20 chinese shoes. After an hour of standing, they get mighty uncomfortable. Combine uncomfortable shoes with a mangled foot and my patience and temper become short. I barked at a few furiends who didnt deserve it. (I gotta see if I can commission a new set of foot paws from
madefuryou built around some American-made boots.)

2013 WEST HOLLYWOOD HALLOWEEN COSTUME CARNAVAL
In 2009, Zentrin and Whiskey attended and organized the gathering.
In 2010, since Zentrin was overseas, Whiskey took over the gathering.
In 2011, both Zentrin and Whiskey couldn't make it (Zentrin had previous engagements, Whiskey was overseas), so I took it over.
In 2012, Zentrin told me he might not be going and Whiskey was injured, so I hosted the gathering for the second year in a row.
This year, I'm going to host the gathering for the third year in a row!

Why: It's a blast!
Ladies and Gentlemen, Vixens and Dogs, Kits and Pups:
This is it! The official sign-up sheet for the West Hollywood's Halloween Costume Carnaval! This is one awesome event for anyone who is hesitant on fursuiting in public. In 2009, this was Zentrin's and Whiskey's first time fursuiting in public and they both walked away with an extremely positive experience.
Essentially, the Costume Carnaval is a slow moving, unorganized parade of people in all different types of costumes. Half a million people show up for this event and slowly walk down the middle of a major street and enjoy the atmosphere and costumes around them. They're armed with cameras and are looking for interesting and memorable costumes to take pictures of.
The initial plan is the same as previous years. We'll park around Norm's Restaurant (a couple blocks south of Santa Monica Blvd) and eat there (see map below).

Please note: free parking will be tough to find, but if you show up early enough, it should be no problem. If you show up late, expect to pay at least $20 for parking in the public lots. (See the link below for parking rates in West Hollywood during this event.)
After we fill our gullets, we'll make our way back to our cars, suit up, then start walking to the parade route. If this event is anything like past years, it won't be long until people are giving us hi-fives and taking pictures of us.
When we get to the start of the parade (by the Domino's Pizza), all bets are off. In the past, we did a good job of sticking together and wandering down the parade route as a group, as we were only a group of less than 10. Since then, we have had too many people to stay organized as a single group. Try to stay in small groups! Never separate and walk by yourself. At the end of the event, we'll head back to our parking spots and go our separate ways. (We might go back to Norm's for a late night dinner.)
A little bit to think about before signing up. All this information is based from the past years.
(1) Halloween is on a THURSDAY, so plan accordingly.
(2) The parade is between 6:00pm and 11:00pm.
(3) We'll definitely be there after sun down.
(4) The route is roughly 1 1/2 miles long and parking is at least another 1/2 mile away. So expect to be walking a good 3+ miles. Make sure you have comfortable shoes/paws.
(5) Be prepared to be in fursuit for about 4-6 hours. (In the past, we have taken a small break at the Pavilions grocery store about halfway down the route.)
(6) Bathrooms are limited and have long lines, so make sure you use the restroom at Norm's before we head out.
(7) Water is sparse, so bring enough for yourself or expect to pay a bit for drinks.
(8) There are a few convenient stores open along the route if things are needed.
(9) Fursuiters are definitely the highlight of this event, so expect to be stopped every few feet for pictures. A few times we had a line waiting for pictures with us.
(10) This is definitely an adult event. Expect to see things that you cannot un-see.
(11) There is a good possibility of being on TV, a website, or a Youtube video.
(12) Bring some cash for dinner and/or drinks along the way just in case.
(13) If we weren't wearing a layer of fur, I'd suggest sunscreen due to the intensity and quantity of flash bulbs going off around us.
Rules and Policies:
(1) No drama. Be gone!
(2) No drugs. If you're on something and you show up, you will not be welcome in our group.
(3) Be on your best behavior and look the part. Many people have a negative impression of the furry fandom thanks to CSI, MTV, etc. Let's leave the parade-goers with a good impression of the fandom. This includes clothing - don't wear shirts that knock the furry fandom.
(4) If you insist on drinking alcohol, keep in mind that there are a limited amount of bathrooms available. In the past, people had to wait in excess of 30 minutes just to use the port-a-potties in a pharmacy's upstairs parking lot.
(5) Try to keep the groups together during the parade. We had small problems with fursuiters getting stopped for pictures and getting separated from the group.
(6) Do not bring anything valuable with you to the event (e.g. purses, jewelry, expensive watches, etc). Even though we will be surrounded by a lot of people, theft is still possible. When in doubt, leave it in the car and well hidden from view. ("Lock It, Hide It, Keep It")
(7) If you sign up and later decide you can't make it, send me a message so we aren't waiting and trying to call you.

General | Posted 13 years agoi made it to Maine at about 1:00pm local time. Given a poor night sleep the night before, the ps party, and a transcontinental red-eye flight with two plane changes, I was rather tuckered out. A local friend picked me up at Bangor airport in a different cessna 150 and we flew to Old Town, Maine. the sun sets here at 3:20pm so i didnt have much time to do airplane stuff before i found a couch to pass-out on. Monday's weather looks poor with a huge storm blowing in. I might get off the ground on Tuesday and start heading down the coast to warmer weather and better winds. ashinros home-made fox-colored scarf is coming in very handy.

General | Posted 13 years agoAfter another great ps party, I'm at LAX waiting for my flight to Maine to fly a cessna 150 back to California. Its not a fast airplane so it'll take me a while to fly the 3000+ miles. Should be alot of fun thou.
