Still Not Completely Back... Foreclosure?
Posted 11 years agoThings have not improved since the last time I posted an update. I'm sorry I've had to go on a bit of an unannounced hiatus. I'm doing everything I can to try and save my house, we have a lease to own agreement with my uncle but the bank financing it has decided to attempt foreclosure procedures if it should fall back into poor standing. If I could find some kind of full time work that would make things considerably easier but until then I'm just doing everything I can to scratch by. So basically my sister and I have to shit an extra $600 to scratch by this month to get all our bills paid plus rent.
Which means I need a job bad. I'm doing everything I can applying everywhere I can and running into a really crappy job market. If anyone in in the Kansas City area has heard of some places looking for people in the Independence, Lee's Summit, East KC area please let me know.
With our budget the way it is now there's no room for food or any kind of home necessities. I wanted to avoid talking about this but I needed to let you guys know what's happening. (I really wish this journal weren't so disjointed but I have trouble gathering my thoughts when I'm upset. I'm sorry.)
You guys I just... I'm terrified of losing this place. I won't be homeless. My sister and I will always have a place at either my Dad's or my Mom's. However everything we worked and scarified for an entire year will have been for nothing and we will have lost my grandmother's house. Not going to lie... a piece of me will die with that place, because as we pack up our things and put them back in the truck I'll look back at the house and realize that in my twenty seven years I will have accomplished absolutely nothing. Not a family, or a career, a college degree, or even a way to keep our head above water when we had the opportunity of a lifetime.
I have a lead on a good job that I'm really hoping will end up being a full time position for myself but it's for a hotel that hasn't opened up yet because construction isn't completed. As of a recent phone call their opening date was pushed back again into early december. I can't wait that long, I'm losing my mind.
I'm going to do my best to try and raise some money here with my spare time as best I can with adopts.

I AM SO SORRY ABOUT THE ADOPT SPAM ;A; - Updates
Posted 11 years agoI'm sure some of you are getting really irritated with me posting so many adopts lately. ;A; I am really sorry about that. I'm doing everything I can to make ends meet until I can find another job. By doing this I'm trying to take some of the load off my sister, and when I say our budget doesn't allow for groceries... I'm not kidding. The funds raised from resells and adopts by me/sugar have been feeding my sister and I.
It's a really long and fekking crazy story but in a nutshell here is the situation:
I've been working for my uncle's company for over a year and a half, and in that year and a half things have been a nightmare. Some times better than others, but never really...good. His company has taken a nosedive. He will be LUCKY if he can manage to sell most of his company and emerge with just the debt owed to the IRS.
For the second time this year I have worked an entire month and not been paid any wages, and chances are I won't get paid ever. Seeing your paychecks bounce is scary as hell. Seriously.
Last time... I had a cushion in the bank in case something like that happened. This time I don't... which is why all the resells and adopt spam.
The trash service already came and took the bin, aaand my phone is going to be shut off here shortly because I can't make the bill.
We don't have any superfluous bills, no cable or internet etc. (before anyone points out the obvious I've been sucking off my dad's internet over at his house because my PC is still there)
Right now what I'm doing is trying like hell to find a job, my sister's full time job is keeping our head above water but I need to take the load off her. A: Because you have to spend money to make money, high quality resin and all the supplies for doing resin such as hardware, sanding tools, safety gear, and supplies are expensive. That's why I haven't posted any resin work in over a year.

A: No I haven't. You will get your item as promised. I am eternally grateful for your patience and your understanding. These commission times are getting ridiculous, but when I am able to fulfill my promises each commissioner will be: contacted, provided a refund if requested, and sent the items they ordered, plus given an extra special handmade gift or gifts with their piece to make up for lost time.

It was an odd line of discovery but I was researching how to create a Red XIII cosplay and sort of stumbled on the fandom. Several youtube videos later here I am.
2. What does your username have to do with you?
Uhh... I sorta wish I could change it because it isn't terribly relevant anymore. Whisper was intended to be the name of my blue red panda, (now "Whisp") and as I wrote her story that changed. Miru is my alias. Usually if I'm not called my real name I'm called Miru.

I get sooooo much inspiration in this place... the raw creativity is like nothing I've ever experienced. For most of my work... I'm inspired by the cute. <3

ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE A TENDENCY TO BE OVERWEIGHT
So many ladies treat this nonchalantly because they're "just weird" but when your cycles are out of whack for long periods of time and you aren't on any kind of medication to make you that way something very serious could be wrong.

Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) is a hereditary disease and if left unchecked it can render you infertile.
Please please please get checked.
I have PCOS, it's a horrible disease and you don't want it ruining your body. I was lucky to catch it early. A lot of women don't even know they have it until they try to get pregnant.
I'm sorry I just... I don't want any woman to go through what I'm going through. Nobody should be alone in this. I love you all, please take care of yourselves.

Posted 12 years agoI know I've been pretty quiet lately. In between job-hunting my little keester off to support this looming mortgage and finally beginning the process of moving (which we've been packing and unpacking for since APRIL) I haven't had much spare time.
...but!! once I get my current queue finished off (should be done in the next two weeks) I'll be starting soap and bath and body crafting. It's my goal to bring luxurious handmade bath and body to the fandom.
(Don't fret I'll still be doing resin. I'm just shifting focus to something I'm passionate about.)
ANYWAYS...
so because of the move I'm giving away my fandom soap hoard!
It'll be a great big gift basket (probably sans basket to ship) of:
6+ contact caffeine soaps,
3 primal soaps,
2 wombath soaps,
1 6-bit soap,
and a few glycerin based soaps from me.
What I'll be creating in the future will not be glycerin based, it will be completly from scratch, but I could use the practice handling the material.
What kind of soap should I create for the gift basket?
Autumn Scent?
Bakery Scent?
Floral Scent?
Fruity Scent?
Something else?

An Animal Crossing Movie!?!

Posted 12 years agoThe comments and support I have received from you guys have really meant the world to me during what has proven to be a very trying time in my life. I want to thank you for your patience, your kindness, your understanding, and most of all... your friendship.
I really appreciate each and every one of you. I've only been able to maintain some semblance of sanity because of you guys.

Fursuit Props
Posted 12 years agoGetting ready to finish up a couple commissions to ship early next week and I've been wondering...
Who would be interested in some props? They wouldn't be plush because that's not really my thing. They would mainly be drinks actually.
Ideas I have so far:
Spill proof wine glass, margaritas, hurricanes, and other various colorful cocktails
Oversized spill proof wine glass
Oversized spill proof coffee or latte of some kind
Fancy Milkshakes
Sundaes
Cupcakes
Ice cream
The last two I'm still working out how to make a lightweight base that would be pretty sturdy, but if you liked playing a character with some kind of obsession these may be pretty decent options. All of which would be made from sturdy materials. No glass.
Obviously this wouldn't be a "right now" type thing... I need to get some semblance of stability before most of these can happen but... the milkshake may happen sooner than later.

Update on Maxed Stress Levels - More Bad News
Posted 12 years agoBasically an update... on my last update.
Stress is still suuuper high because I found out I need another job to make ends meet/eat when my sister and I move out and it's coming FAST. I've got 2-3 weeks to find a part time or full time job. Surgery is not going to be postponed, whoever hires me is just going to have to deal with me being off for two weeks for an undisclosed (to them) important surgery. If they aren't I'll just have to find something else once I'm able to move and hold down food again.
I have to finish and ship EVERYTHING before the move. After I move I don't know how often I'll be able to buy resin. Probably not often for a few months. In addition to that we're going to be living extraordinarily frugally and I probably won't have internet for a few months. I'll keep in touch via phone and update/submit stuff at my mother's house when I can.
No worries though... everything will be finished. <3
New stuff... could be a question mark. I imagine that I'll put into resin what I make out of it so... for me to buy resin I'll have to sell 2-3 pieces. Things are going to be tight. Really tight. I'm optimistic though. =)
Commissioning/Adopting is going to be a thing of the past obviously unless I manage to generate some kind of expendable income from my crafts. It will probably be needed for more important things though. Not that I don't already have quite a few lovely characters and pieces of art, I'm just saying... for now... all that is coming to a screeching halt.
Update on the insurance situation... the company that handles the insurance dropped me when I turned 25 for some reason. I talked to them and we got it sorted out. I'm still covered and I don't have to pay the $377 they were expecting for my endocrinologist visit.
Whew...
The dental bill is still in the air. Not sure what's going on with that. All I know is I'm never setting foot in that office again unless it's to put a boot up someone's ass.
Thank God for small favors.
Anyhow that's the situation. I'm working to cope with everything the absolute best I can. Please bear with me as this unfolds. Your guys support has meant the world to me. ;u;

Where I've Been - Update + Frustration
Posted 12 years agoI feel like I write these journals once a week and never seem to post them because by the time I get halfway through them I'll think, "You're just being a baby. Don't post your stupid vents on FA. No one cares dipstick." However I really do need to give updates on work progression, and my stress levels have been just sky high. I can think of two occasions this week that I've been in tears trying to vent unsuccessfully.
That being said... I'm doing my absolute best to work on commissions. They aren't being forgotten or neglected I'm just waiting on this weeks paycheck to have stuff ready to go out the door. Money has been that tight. I'll post a queue below with the various stages of completion on each person's order.
Now for the... life update venting part.
As you guys know I'm preparing for bariatric surgery. It may seem vain or unimportant to most folks who are unaware of the situation but frankly right now it's the most important thing thing in my life. Period. In terms of things I could do for myself to ensure that my quality of life in middle and old age is decent, this is paramount and takes precedence over everything else.
It is that important.
So there's that huge ball of stress hanging over my head. Especially knowing what failure could mean (infertility, early death, immobility, etc.).
I'm also buying a house. Yes. Buying. 62k home my sister and I are buying from my Uncle. Owner financed so it should be a fairly smooth transition but I work 2 and 3 days a week at my part time job for my Uncle and there's no way I can swing that and having utilities on the pay I currently earn. Forget eating. Thank god half my stomach is getting chopped off.
So I need to have a full time job before that can happen,
but I can't get a full time job until my surgery happens,
but I can't have my surgery until my Dad and Uncle's flipped house sells.
My Uncle expects us to move into this home as soon as he's moved into his new one. He's scheduled to close on it later this month.
AND ON TOP OF THIS LOVELY STRESS SALAD...
My insurance is trying to drop me. Which without insurance covering my most recent doctor bills... it tallies up to a tidy $526 which I have none of. So I have to fight that tooth and nail because I paid off my freaking deductible earlier in the year and THEY CAN'T DROP ME TILL DECEMBER DAMMIT. I'M STILL 25.

I knew... I shouldn't have gone to Naka. I didn't want to disappoint my friends so I went and I've been trying to catch up ever since. Don't get me wrong I had a great time... but the whole thing set me back quite a bit.
I really wasn't aware of how bad my situation was until about a month ago. I knew it was bad but the crescendo of stress hadn't quite reached it's climax just yet.
The bad thing is... this isn't even all of it. I'm not even going to mention personal relationships that are adding to all this mess.
Nothing comes easy.
Anyways, I'd like to thank you for your guys love and support. I really am doing my best to hold things together. My goal is to have badges and at least 3 raffle prizes mailed by the end of the week. Monday at the latest.
Regarding below: If your name is supposed to be there and it isn't. Don't wig out. I've got it in my master booklet of orders I'm just doing this from immedate memory.

Mobi_Husky - Mobi shooting star. Waiting on mold to arrive in mail.

So... I'm not entirely sure what my recovery plan is, but once I do have the surgery I'm getting a full time and part time job. My sister and I will probably be looking for a roommate to alleviate some of the financial burden there but... once things are a bit more settled I'll begin the process of saving for a custom fursuit with the expendable income I may have from selling jewelry, selling on ebay, etc. We'll just have to see how it all plays out so obviously nothing is concrete or certain.

Fursuit Plans
Posted 12 years agoMost of this is going to be about plans for wayyy wayy far in the future type stuff, but these are all my current suit plans.
Keep in mind... this could be over the span of SEVERAL years. In between moving out, going back to school, and finding full time work my timeline could be extremely unrealistic.
Also before I try ANYTHING with fursuits I want to make some smaller fur pieces to get the knack for sewing fur and working with the medium. For example I may make tails, handpaws, feetpaws, etc.
Made by me:
Sleepy Sheep Fullsuit - I plan on making this one myself. I've got some great ideas and will be asking around about stuff. I imagine I will probably have some parts made but I'm hoping to at least have a partial completed for Naka-Kon next year. We'll see though. Money is tight and for the prospective future appears to be getting tighter.
Secret Cat Project - Either the sheep or this will come first I'm not sure, but this one will be very fun to "play" the character I have in mind. I imagine this will be a partial at first.
Icing Fullsuit - This will be a project for completion after most of my weight is lost following surgery. It will be a kemono style fursuit created following Tirols tutorial. Ideally anyways. The hope is for a feminine character with feminine curves and smaller styled feet. Anime style head probably cast from resin.
Commissioned:
Realistic Red Panda Partial/Fullsuit - Not sure on if this will be a fullsuit or partial but hopefully this will be one of my first fursuit commissions. I really want to... make my contribution to a charitable cause, and for me there's no better cause than Red Panda conservation. I want to give back to my favorite animal. I feel that the best way I can do that is suiting to spread awareness, have booths at events/locations with information, and collecting funds to donate to redpandafoundation.org . I just really want to help a cause I support wholeheartedly in the best way I can, and this is how I'm going to do it.
Whisp Fullsuit - I'm sure you saw this coming. :3 Again this will be after I've reached my goal weight. Whisp needs to be a suit. I've already got an awesome suit maker in mind for sure. <3 Hopefully she'll be down for it.
Well that's the whole list thus far. Quite sizeable no? I imagine there will be more if I really enjoy suit making and getting into that, but this is everything I'm absolutely dead set about. >v<
