If you don't know what samhain is here is the info I KNOW ITS ALOT so i don't expect you to read it all
Samhain, (pronounced SOW-in, SAH-vin, or SAM-hayne) means "End of Summer", and is the third and final Harvest. The dark winter half of the year commences on this Sabbat.
It is generally celebrated on October 31st, but some traditions prefer November 1st. It is one of the two "spirit-nights" each year, the other being Beltane. It is a magical interval when the mundane laws of time and space are temporarily suspended, and the Thin Veil between the worlds is lifted. Communicating with ancestors and departed loved ones is easy at this time, for they journey through this world on their way to the Summerlands. It is a time to study the Dark Mysteries and honor the Dark Mother and the Dark Father, symbolized by the Crone and her aged Consort.
Originally the "Feast of the Dead" was celebrated in Celtic countries by leaving food offerings on altars and doorsteps for the "wandering dead". Today a lot of practitioners still carry out that tradition. Single candles were lit and left in a window to help guide the spirits of ancestors and loved ones home. Extra chairs were set to the table and around the hearth for the unseen guest. Apples were buried along roadsides and paths for spirits who were lost or had no descendants to provide for them. Turnips were hollowed out and carved to look like protective spirits, for this was a night of magic and chaos. The Wee Folke became very active, pulling pranks on unsuspecting humans. Traveling after dark was was not advised. People dressed in white (like ghosts), wore disguises made of straw, or dressed as the opposite gender in order to fool the Nature spirits.
This was the time that the cattle and other livestock were slaughtered for eating in the ensuing winter months. Any crops still in the field on Samhain were considered taboo, and left as offerings to the Nature spirits. Bonfires were built, (originally called bone-fires, for after feasting, the bones were thrown in the fire as offerings for healthy and plentiful livestock in the New Year) and stones were marked with peoples names. Then they were thrown into the fire, to be retrieved in the morning. The condition of the retrieved stone foretold of that person's fortune in the coming year. Hearth fires were also lit from the village bonfire to ensure unity, and the ashes were spread over the harvested fields to protect and bless the land.
Various other names for this Greater Sabbat are Third Harvest, Samana, Day of the Dead, Old Hallowmas (Scottish/Celtic), Vigil of Saman, Shadowfest (Strega), and Samhuinn. The Walking Dead made a noticeable mistake
Posted 12 years agoI don't know if any of you even care or if you guys saw it. But it isn't that big to some people but shit like this bothers me :I
so in season 3 episode 16 of the walking dead, andrea is strapped to the chair. well. i notced a big mistake in the show when she is trying to get out of the chair she picks up the clippers and the first time she does it she drops them, the second time she picks them up she has the handle of the clippers facing the floor in one shot. then when the shot angle changes the handles are facing in the air. Considering it was the main focus of those few minutes that are focused on the clippers most people would have noticed them, even when they aren't looking for anything wrong. This, all by itself bugs me a lot. When a movie/show makes a huge mistake like that.

well I can't find the younger one and I'm worried, but I'll care for this one as much as I can with minimal money. If I had the money to fix the kitten I'd get him fixed and (if mother lets me) bring him inside. Even if I can't keep the kitten, a neutered kitten would have a much better chance of going to a good home, plus it will help keep the stray cats down so more kittens don't suffer like this. Please if you have even a few dollars to spare donate your money so I can give this kitten shots, and get him fixed. It would mean so much to me and him if he can get fixed to be able to go to a good home

PLEASE HELP ANIMALS IN NEED!
Posted 12 years agoI have had a couple of kittens sticking around my house. They have a very sweet temperament and are just adorable to be around. I can't unfortunately bring them into my home since I already have an abundance of pets and not enough money for more. These two kittens are underweight but cannot be separated. I feel that they came from the same litter, and I want them to get off the street back into the home they came from or to a new and loving home. They are a mess and very thin. I can feel all their ribs easily. Please. If you live in Canada nearby and can take them that'd be amazing. I can note you my number so contact can be easier. Even if you don't live close if you could spread this around i'd be so greatfull and so would these poor kittens! One is male and one is female. pics of both are below

Posted 12 years agoSo this morning I went to get my health card renewed, no big deal.
This is the part that makes my day awesome.
I had to go get blood test done so I go do that.
Not only am I afraid of needle I have little veins so they have to
normally poke and prod to find a vein which hurts like a sonofabitch
So the lady tries one arm and pokes and prods for about 5 minutes leaving my arm
sore and she didn't even get any blood. She goes to my other arm and decides to
poke some more trying to find a vein as to which she finally does but it hurts a lot
so now both arms are really sore. On top of that on wednesday I have an appointment
for more blood work and to get venous gas

and unless i'm wrong the commonly used way is with a pulmonary artery catheter

I can't even make a simple sauce for pasta
without it burning

If furries only married and had pups with furries, then furries would eventually rule the world. Especially if furries converted humans. So...in like say 2030, would furries be the rulers of the world? Would the world be a better place? Would the world be nicer, cleaner, and just happier all together?
I mean if a child was born into a furry family where both parents were furs. The child would be exposed to the furry community, and furry lifestyle. So a good chance is the child would grow up furry. so would furry take over the world years from now?
