WHAT WAS THE PURPOSE OF THAT FIRST EPISODE?! WHY WAS IT EVEN MADE IF YOU GUYS DECIDED TO GO TO LIOR ANYWAY?! *eye beams*
I will repeat once again what happens in episode 1:
*We are introduced to a character that we don't care about nor will EVER be mentioned again.
*The depictions of every character in this first episode are boiled down to the generic reoccurring joke that revolve around them
*We learn nothing to the overall plot of the series and in fact WE GO AGAINST THE FUCKING CANON of this series which will be very confusing and very jading to new viewers later on WHEN THEY REILLUSTRATE PLOT LINES, which includes
Ed and Hughes Relationship
The birth of Elysia
The nature of flame alchemy
The introduction of Alex Louise Armstrong
and of course
THE VERY FUCKING STRENGTH OF CENTRAL AND AMESTRIS
Let me tell you guys one thing... That Ice Alchemist... SUCKED BAWLS compared to a lot of OTHER alchemists out there such as idk... BASQUE GRAN or MUSTANG?! and the fact that the structure of Amestris could be so easily... okay I'm enter spoiler territory here sowwy X3
Why was Mustang so watered down in that episode. (No pun intended) Mustang is OPed in the mango, and if this is the Mustang of the FMA mango then he wouldn't have gotten his ass whooped by a no name fucking Ice Alchemist that we do not care about.
Oh btw having an"Ice Alchemist" or any alchemist having to do with the nature of water is incompatible with the Ishvallan/Ishballan (btw Ishval sounds 20 times better than Ishbal) war. Why?! Because by my understanding Ishval is a fucking DESERT COUNTRY. And seeing how much water that the Ice Alchemist needed to perform something like what he did i.e. the entire sewer system of Amestris which again is gonna be INCOMPATIBLE with something that happens later on... that's a pretty RETARDED TYPE OF ALCHEMY BTW!

Thoughts on [s]New[/s] Canon FMA ep 1 (A review/synopsis)
Posted 16 years agoTHIS JOURNAL REVIEW HAS SPOILERS! DON'T SAY I DIDN'T WARN YOU!
Basically my policy on watching anime continuously follows 5 rules:
1) I read the manga and thought it was good for at least 200 chapters
2) The company that produces and or makes the anime highers appropriate actors and clean art styles
3) If the series deviates from the original plot and lasts for more than 2 series I stop watching it.
4) If the anime is a stand alone series and is good I'll keep watching it
5) This is the most important rule I have. If the anime indulges in plots that have nothing to do with ANYTHING, and becomes really boring, I drop it and leave it in limbo.
READ TO THE BOLD FOR THE TL;DR SUM UP
Okay first off before I talk about shittyness I have to comment that the opening was, althought sort of disturbing and repetitive (paranoia agent), having YUI's new single AGAIN and I absolutely loved this song. (I DOWNLOADED THE SINGLE!)
So with the review. My one and only question is this... What the hell was that? I'm sorry I was hoping for the canon FMA which apperently from watching the NEXT episode preview I won't get to watch next week.
So we start off with someone called the Ice alchemist, because why not we have fire alchemist, a silver alchemist, a crimson alchemist, why not make an alchemist that's as boring as ice. Anyway, he's setting up a plot devices in an alley and Col. Mustang gets a call from King Bradley saying that he wants this guy taken out, he also remarks that Ed and Al are back in town from Lior, making this episode already
COMPLETELY POINTLESS
For those who don't read the manga, for some stupid reason here's the just of the deviation. Anything that hand anything to do with the character Dante, is false. Up until the climax of the greed arc, the show is pretty much canon. It's after greed where we're introduced to not Dante, but Father.
Getting back, the Ice Alchemist is running around killing generic soldiers by piercing their bodies and boiling their skin. Ed comes in and we get a long winded introduction of Ed being the full metal alchemist again. So he comments how short he is, ed gets pissed off and beats the crap out of him. (HAHAHAHA that was so funny... the first 20 times I saw it now it's just annoying). The generic soldiers apprehend him while a generic soldier says thank you to Al thinking he's the titular main character which is WEIRD considering that they are in central and that everyone in the damn city should know what ed looks like by nao.
The bad guy gets find some water on the ground and creates a smokescree- er i mean a steam screen. He gets away because... they needed to make this episode 30 minutes i guess. The scene changes to Ed getting chewed over by Roy for not listening paying attention the first time of who the ice alchemist is. Then they get interrupted by Maes Hughes who greets Al with "Nice to meet you I'm Maes Hughes, you must be the full metal alchemist."
...no no no no it can't be... well moving on...
He says that he's offering Al and Ed a room at his place and pulls out a kodak moment from his pocket. They get to his house and are greeted by Gracia and Elysia. Elysia says big and small pointing at al and ed respectively. Ed gets pissed and says that he's the older broth...er
OH CRAP: FILLER ALERT
Ugh... I'm not looking forward to the rest of this... moving on, Elysia says that Ed is smaller and he gets pissed off. They eat dinner and Hughes points out that Al should be eating out of his armor and both Ed and Al panic both making a lame excuse that he's "training" making this the 7th reused element in the anime. I'm starting the counter here.
So the ice alchemist breaks into prison and meets up with the crimson alchemist Kimblee who says that he'll break him out so that they can go kill the high officials of Central. Kimblee says, Oh I love the dialog from Kimblee when he appears in this scene
"Hahaha, join forces with the ice alchemist, me the crimson alchemist Like we need a reminder of he he was.. -_-
The Ice Alchemist says how the hell the Ishbal war was 8 and that he thinks that was the reason why Kimblee killed his commanding officers. Kimblee remarks that he did it because he wanted to and leaves the Ice Alchemist to his own mechanics.
The scene moves back to Hughes and Gracia.
Hughs: Blah blah blah their so young and talented, blah blah blah dogs of the military blah blah blah choice 9
Okay that's it im stopping right here, my head is beginning to hurt. You can watch the rest of the episode yourself, and hopefully it won't give you cancer.
You know what this episode is? It's a filler and not just any kind of filler, a filler that was both stupid and pointless. My god, was this episode horrible. All that really happens in this episode is old reoccuring jokes, cameos of Father, and elements to remind us what FMA is.
There are only 2 types people who would REALLY watch this series. People who are still keeping up with the series via the manga and people who like FMA to the point where they can recite line X from episode Y. All this episode did was remind me of how stupid Sony/Square/Aniplex think animu viewers are.
A recap episode would have done the trick, and to be honest I wouldn't have minded a recap episode. Instead they shove this down our throats.
This episode was horrible in ways that shouldn't be watched. For people who like FMA... don't watch this episode. The next ep preview is a recap i believe, or at least the repeat ep where Ed does his human transmutation and reaches the gate of truth. I'm really hoping for the best out of this, but 90% have been wiped out from this episode
again... THIS EPISODE SUCKS!

1) Dragon Evolution Movie came out... not much to say about that only that it will probably give you cancer
2) I realized that Final Fantasy 7 sort of sucks as a standalone series and a game.
3) I've only had... wait I've had no sleep in the past 3 days..
Coffee count: 10 shots of espresso, 6 coffees, 2 Black Teas :3
4) Naruto and Bleach officially suck and also happened to reach the point beyond salvation at the same time!
5) uStream has started to become the new fad of FA... hurray?
6) The amount of creative or in general April Fools Jokes is rather pathetic... meh
7) Tsubasa Resevoir Chronicles is coming to an end DX

Posted 16 years agoI'm what one of my friends call a "scooter fuck." I don't have the patience to actually learn how to drive so my secondary mode of transportation (first being the bus) is my AWESOME RAZOR SCOOTER (woot).
I was going down diamond head when I ate it. Ate it hard. Got a couple of scrapes on my hands, and completely ruined the left side of my face. Ambulance took their sweet time. Got their wounds cleaned out ect... ect... and I'm stuck at home in lots of pain.
Did by some force of karma cause this, or was this an accident? Eh w/e... gonna sleep the pain off... >w>
