Looking to do art trades and commissions
General | Posted 15 years agoWell I'm not exactly up against the wall financially, but I would like to open some commissions for anyone interested.
10 bucks gets you a single character inked, I can do it on WatchTail stream too if you like (in fact I rather like doing that, gets me instant feedback).
15 for two characters. Anything more we can talk about.
I use Paypal.
I'm also accepting art trades. I love to get art, so if you'd like to do a trade, that would be great too.
Note me or leave a message here if you're interested!

Thinking about accepting ink commissions....
General | Posted 15 years agoWell, I'm thinking I want to make some extra money, so I was considering opening a few commission slots for pics that would end up drawn and then digitally inked since that's what I've discovered I'm good at. I'm thinking it would probably be around $20 for a single character, $30 for two... would anyone be interested if I opened up a few slots?
Lulu's new form: DRACAT!
General | Posted 15 years agoYes, it's true! Lulu has shed her old cooncat fursona and joined me in being a dragon/cat hybrid.
I found out relatively recently that she actually felt her cooncat fursona was boring. While I didn't agree, I told her that no one minds if you update your fursona. We all know we outgrow things and come to rethink the avatar that represents us.
it was quite a surprise to find out she decided to be a dracat like myself. As it turns out, she had been nursing the idea for a while but was afraid to do it because she was afraid I would think she was copying me - Ha!
So she redesigned herself from the ground up. The end result? A sizzling hot mix of a black tiger and an eastern celestial dragon. She is the lunar to my solar - even her full name, Lunamira, reflects this. She wields lightning, and is a bit taller than her old fursona design.
Be assured, this is the same woman! I've not gone and found someone else. My sweetie has simply changed, and day-am does she look hot!
For fans of Lulu's work: She's done her own model sheet! Now you can catch a glimpse of her latest work.

Information about new comic: Azure Dawn
General | Posted 15 years agoAzure Dawn is my still not quite finished comic project detailing Lynceus' coming-of-age in flashback form, where he tells Lulu about his early life growing up among the dragons of the Glaciermaw Clan.
For anyone still not clear about Lynceus' parentage, let me explain. Naima Glaciermaw, a short ice dragoness, is his mother. She met his father Jahrre, a leatherworker living in a woodland village of canadian lynxes, while traveling the world in a fit of wanderlust. They became a couple, married, and Lynceus was born.
Azure Dawn is done beginning to end with .05 mechanical pencil. I consider it a draft, as much of the art can (and hopefully will) be improved with time. You'll generally see only linework here so far. Please excuse the sketchiness.
The comic is long. I'm currently in the process of working on page 53, though by that page things are starting to wind down.
I also made a serious oversight. Azure Dawn is drawn in a 9x12 sketchbook, whose pages are just a bit too big for my scanner. Once I realized this I began adjusting things to be more compact, but most of the comic may need some on-the-fly reworking of position of text to fit on my scanner bed. Unfortunately, this is probably going to mean that pages might end up messier or, at worst, cut off. I'll try to minimize that, since the story is the most important element.
Please do not hesitate to offer input and suggestions. As I said, this is pretty much a draft, so I'm open to ideas. In fact, PLEASE COMMENT. I put a lot of work into this, and I'd really appreciate someone giving me some real feedback. Since this comic isn't going to have anything adult in it, I'm quite certain it's going to be ignored by 99% of the site. So to those remaining 1% of people who actually click: Please leave some comments. Thanks.
I'll probably begin posting the comic within the next day or so, a few pages at a time. Hopefully I can figure out that whole fancy HTML trick for the "next/previous" links.
Stay tuned... this is my biggest project yet.

new PS3, new comic going...
General | Posted 15 years agoWell, thanks to my best friend showing me the awesomeness that is LittleBigPlanet, I actually went out and bought a PS3. I'm LynceusGlacier on the PSNetwork, if anyone cares :P I don't really have anyone to play Lost Planet 2 with yet except Kenji, and the local splitscreen is, as all of you who own the game know, awful. So yah. I'm trying to convince my best friend to get the game :P The game's damn hard for us, even on easy difficulty... so it's been a little taxing. :P At least Kenji and I have been able to play Vegas 2.
Lulu's been getting into building in LittleBigPlanet, too. It's been fun helping her with her levels.
A chance meeting on SL resulted in a commission, which I'll probably be posting here soon.
Beyond that, I have not only a new model sheet of myself, but an entire comic detailing Lynceus' backstory. It's currently... what was it... 45 pages long now? *laughs* It's almost done. I'll be posting it here once I get the chance and hopefully everyone can read my awful handwriting. I do please ask that you all try to give me some input on the comic and modelsheets! A lot of work went into them.

Married Life for the Dracat
General | Posted 15 years agoWell folks, it's been about three months now. I have to say I've never been happier.
Lulu and I officially tied the knot on February 10, 2010. We have a set of lovely tungsten carbide celtic knot rings. For those not in the know, the celtic knot is as much a symbol of infinity as the ring it's engraved on. Maybe if I can get Lulu to hold still long enough I'll get pictures of our rings together :)
We've been happily living in an apartment and my job for Southern Oregon Head Start has been fantastic, fulfilling work. I've been lucky enough to be working in a much friendlier-than-normal IT world - the IT industry is quite cutthroat most of the time, but since I'm working for a family organization with only two other technicians, things are much more personal and I can give people the one-on-one help I always feel like people with computer issues deserve. I wouldn't survive in a corporate IT world with all the backstabbing that goes on.
Home has been blissful. I can't tell you how happy it makes me to wake up each morning next to my cooncat. I'm a very lucky man, and we've been working on her Warped Devotion story together.
Which brings me to something else. Folks, I honestly don't know if or when Lulu is going to return to FA. She's just been so scared off by all the negative attention the comic got - because of people who were expecting a sex comic and complained because that's not what they got.
My cooncat is a fragile creature.
She's also very shy because she has realized she's not cut out for comissions. She had some open at the time she disappeared, and there were some people who'd insisted on paying her in advance (despite her telling people not to), and well... she's been embarrassed because she feels like she inadvertently ripped them off All those things have made it so she's very, very hesitant to return to FA for fear of all the negative attention from commissioners as well as the negative response to Warped Devotion.
If you are someone who commissioned Lulu, please contact me here on FA or at blah1056 @ yahoo dot com and I'll try to work things out with you. (If you e-mail, please clearly mark that it's about Lulu.)
In the meantime, I'd also like to put forth a challenge/question: What ladies and what situations would you like to see me draw? Load up my muse with ideas, furs!

New Job, Home, and Life
General | Posted 16 years agoIt's been a while, furs. But that's because I've been insanely busy - I've made several huge life changes and you'll not see much of me for a while, since I'll be (hopefully temporarily) losing my internet. Why? Because I'm moving into my own place!
Well technically I already have. I'm mostly settled into an apartment now, with not a whole lot left to move. I just have to get some storage spaces and whatnot, get boxes unpacked, etc.
I'm sure you all knew this was coming, but Lulu is joining me. We're officially getting married on the 19th of February. I'm very excited ^.^
To support all this, I have a new job - no more pumping gas for ME! I managed to get a job as an IT supervisor at an organization that helps families with small children - Southern Oregon Head Start. I'm one of three technicians who work to keep the network online. I'm having a ball with this new job, since it's basically the kind of job I've been wanting all my life! This is the kind of job I can retire from - a true career.
Whew! So much has been happening. I couldn't be happier! With any luck I'll get my internet access at my new place once I see where my expenses are at (probably around the beginning of March). I've got a lot to do, but I'm loving every minute of it.
Now all I need is more pinups and smut of Lulu to put on my computer desktop at my new place! ;P

About Lulu and Warped Devotion
General | Posted 16 years agoFolks, I need to say a few things about Lulu. There's a reason she hasn't come back to FA; the audience here isn't right. A good sizeable majority of FAgoers are, as I'm sure you know, just people who come for fap material. When Lulu started the Warped Devotion project, it flagged a lot of people's interest because they thought she was going to be making a gay smut comic.
That wasn't the case.
I am a straight male. I can tell you from reading Warped Devotion that yes, pretty much all the male characters are gay and there is innuendo and some sex, but it would be a tragic mistake to focus on this part of the story.
I am Lulu's man behind the curtain. I've been helping her develop Warped Devotion into the interesting, complex story that she wants it to be. Folks, this is good stuff she's got going. If you knew what I knew about what's coming up and what she's already got going, you'd be excited too.
But I do not see Warped Devotion coming to FurAffinity in the forseeable future. The reason? Comments like "why do we always have to look at limp dongs?". That was a comment by some idiot looking at the latest page of WD here on FA, a scene that had mild nudity in it but had absolutely nothing to do with sex. I also add that this page was a LOT of work for her.
FA is not the right audience for this story. There have just been far too many people who have completely missed the point of this story and this world. Therefore, I think it's going to be highly unlikely that Warped Devotion will continue to be posted on this site.
That's where you all come in. Lulu has told me that she WANTS to share this story. We need an audience, but we need a PROPER audience - so I ask all of you who read Warped Devotion and saw it for what it really is - a deep, complex and well-written drama - to help me in finding a place where Lulu might be able to share this without being harassed by fanboys only looking for cock.
One final note: The beginning of the story may be slightly modified to give a more serious air. When Lulu began the project, it was not expected to grow this big; but now that it has, she's considered a rework. I'm currently in the process of converting Warped Devotion into text form to facilitate a possible redraw of some pages.
Anyway, to serious fans of the comic, please give me your input. I want to help her nurture this creation of hers, and I need your help.

Female O-face...
General | Posted 16 years agoI want to draw it! And I want to draw it well! So folks, what do you suggest? Furry art ref pics, thoughts on the subject, whatever... I'd like some input on this one.
To all of Lulu's fans
General | Posted 16 years agoHi there folks, I wanted to drop you a note explaining what Lulu's been up to lately.
First of all, for those who have comissioned her - she has NOT FORGOTTEN YOU. She's just been very uninspired to draw lately, and commission work is THE hardest for her to do. She has told me how embarrassed she is about making you all wait - especially the folks who insisted on paying her in advance - but it's VERY hard for her to get going on a commission. Please understand. I've been trying to help her as best I can, and we all appreciate your patience.
She hasn't even logged onto FA for months for fear of hearing from people who've comissioned her.
To her fans of Warped Devotion - the story is proceeding as planned. She has switched gears lately from drawing to writing, putting things down in story form before considering the comic panels and such.
I'll be frank with you people - stop pressuring her to put more sex in the story. Warped Devotion is a deep, complex story full of emotion and is a quality tale that isn't dependent on flying spooge. Appreciate the story for what it is - she's pouring her heart into it and hearing "I wish there was more sex in it" is rather insulting to her.
That said, we've been coordinating on the story and have been working on it. She's got a good thing going.
I've been trying to encourage her to emerge from her cave, but I need your help. Commissioners, fans of the comic, fans of her art, please send your reassurance.

FC2009 Post-Con Report
General | Posted 17 years agoThis year wasn't quite as much fun as previous years, somehow. We still had a blast, but there were some low moments. Lulu had trouble sleeping, first of all. The next night she decided trying a drink might help, since it usually makes her sleepy... but she ended up having too much (for the first time) and that gave me a bit of a scare.
We saw Mikau, GlenSkunk, Kaji - pretty much all of our friends from previous years at FC. Since the con itself seemed to be less interesting than usual for some reason, we spent more time in the hotel room, playing games with friends.
The Live Animals show was ALL CATS. I had a great time - there was a canadian lynx(!!!), a king cheetah, a caracal, an ocelot, and a cougar.
The Creators Lounge wasn't as friendly, it felt like. We didn't do as much socializing and it was just less.... fun.
We met a new friend, Shipwreck! She's a friend of Farellemoon. We all had a great time at the con overall.
Lulu's prints sold a bit, I believe we sold 16 of them. Not bad considering we had no table!
Overall, the con was great fun. Things were more subdued this year, but we still had a great time.
With any luck, we'll be there next year :) I'll be uploading all the art I drew, etc. before too much longer (i.e. when I get the time...)!

LULU WILL BE SELLING PRINTS!
General | Posted 17 years agoThat's right folks! We're bringing 100 prints of Lulu's work for sale at FC. We don't have a table or anything, but look for us in the Creators' Lounge or hallways or SOMEWHERE. I don't know how much Lulu's going to sell them for, but I'm thinking it'll be around $5.
Hope to see you there!
Hope to see you there!
Pre-FC2K9 Art Batch
General | Posted 17 years agoWell, I finally got around to getting everything scanned and posted on FA; unfortunately all you get is a bunch of sketches. They're pretty good sketches, though - I'm particularly fond of Cherry Lulu. I might redo that one sometime and give it a better finish.
At any rate, I'll be at FC2009! I'm going to be in the overflow hotel, bringing Lulu, Kenji and Greymane. With any luck we'll make it over the hill into California... oog, so many things left to do! I feel like my wallet's going to take a hit again this year. But that's okay; I literally save up all year for this, so I'm prepared! Rawr!
Oby, Glenn, and everyone else I know, I hope to see you there!

Ladies' Choice Lingerie Series
General | Posted 17 years agoHi furs! I just wanted to advertise my plans for the new lingerie series I'm planning, which I've named Ladies' Choice because the ladies have chosen their own outfits!
For those who missed my last journal, this series is all about the girls' OWN choices of lingerie for what they would want to wear to feel sexy. I realized what we males would choose is probably not what a lady would want to wear - so I went to them with the question!
Thanks to all the girls who gave their input (and more is welcome if you so desire to give it, girls... see my last journal).
Here's the planned lineup:
1) My Lulu, the cooncat <3
2) Roslin & Ceyl, bunny and snowmew
3) Katrina, a coon
4) Claire, an arctic vixen
5) Ecco, a fruit bat
6) Alex, a raichu
Lulu's pic is inked. I've been very busy lately and I also need to go buy some markers - but I don't know when I'll be able to do that considering expenses lately. But rest assured, I'll get this series done somehow ;P

Attention Ladies: I need your input!
General | Posted 18 years agoHi furs!
I've got a new project I want to do. I felt like doing a lingerie series, but something occured to me when I was thinking it over - don't most lingerie series by male artists just end up being a showcase of slutty, uncomfortable clothes that simply make a male fantasy?
I wanted to avoid that. My thought is this: I want input from the ladies - what kinds of lingerie make YOU feel sexy in the bedroom? At rist of sounding like a total pervert, I need your input, girls! I've already got some ideas from ladies who were kind enough to humor me when I voiced my idea on IRC... it's rather AWKWARD to ask a woman such a question.
ADDITION: Also what kind of COLORS do you like? Don't like?
So far, I have three pictures planned. The first is of course the centerpiece of the series, my Lulu! ^.^ Second is a tigress who's also comissioning me, she gave her input as well. And third is a channel owner on IRC. I'll be drawing all of these once my comission is complete.
Let me stress that I want to do this professionally. I'm only asking for input from you ladies - what would YOU want to wear? (No, I'm not asking for pictures!!!)
And I just KNOW my Lulu is going to tease me endlessly about this, because that's just what she does. :P

Further Confusion 2008 Post-Con Report
General | Posted 18 years agoWhew! *shakes the snow off his floof*
I'm back from FC2008 and the Fur East! This year saw some record breaking!
Myself, Lulu, Kenji and Greymane went this year. On an unpleasant note, our friend Brisk who was planning to join us was unable to come at the last minute due to problems with job and housing. :( You were definitely with us in spirit, my friend; we never forgot you.
Now the list of who I saw....!
Kezzie, Mikau, Kaji, GlenSkunk, Joltie, Bushycat, Furgeta, Burning Donut ("NERD!!!"), K'sharra, Dingbat, Roxikat, Mordena, Obsidian, Tony, and NikkiVix. Selkit and Diadexxus were there as well, but I never got a chance to see them, There are also probably way more people I can't even remember.
...and those mentioned are just the folks who know ME. I saw way more faces I recognized, including well known faces like Wolf Kidd and Moonstalker.
Of course the dealers' den was packed with even more names I know, far too many to mention :)
After throwing way too much money at Terrie Smith like I always do (glee~!) I walked from the dealers' den not having bought as much as usual. I suppose that's a good thing ;P I did get Ken Sample to draw in my sketchbook, which was awesome.
I got video of the entire fursuit parade - and AC move over. 364 fursuits were counted in the fursuit parade line, and that's only the ones who were there at the start!
...Yes, folks. THREE HUNDRED AND SIXTY FOUR. We broke AC's record.
Roxikat also told me that there were four Luskwood Second Life avatar fursuits running around, though I missed them (they were not in the parade). That was probably because of the fact that we were staying in the overflow hotel and the shuttles were terrible - didn't get there in time for the SL panel. :( Also missed the live animals show for the same reason. Oh well :P
Con crud has of course caught up with me, I might be a bit sick, but it's fine... it's worth it. Nikki in the Creators Lounge did have an epic confrontation with Con Crud, threatening the bane of all congoing furries with a lighter. :P that was funneh.
As it turns out, my buddy GlenSkunk already plays Hellgate London as a marksman. With any luck we'll be able to kick ass together online! We also have a new Hellgate convert, Mikau. Says he's going to get the game as soon as he can. Woot! Demons beware, soon fur will FLY!
Lulu had a flurry of "OMG it's you!" in the creators' lounge the last night we were there, and this resulted in her doing many a request for many people. New and old fans alike flocked to her fantastic work. She says she's going to make prints for next year - finally! She can see for herself how much people love her art!
Also thanks to Joltie for comissioning me to draw my VERY FIRST CONBADGE! ^.^ Yay!!
We didn't stay the last day of the con, instead scooting our tails out in the morning. Greymane had jury duty the next day back home so we had to make tracks... of course this didn't stop us from stopping for a little while along the side of the freeway in northern Cali to play in the snow for a while ;P We took a snowman that someone had left and furry-ized it. Muahaha.
We actually were smart and brought food this time, consisting mostly of ramen (ironic considering the con's theme was Far East... :P) so we had no troubles with food. It was fun, fur and silliness the whole way through.
It was pretty much time to come home though... we were all very tired. I slept really well last night, and I'm sure everyone else did too.
It was Greymane's first con. I realized too late that he probably didn't have quite as much fun as the rest of us, being non-artistic and thus less interested in the Creators' Lounge where we mostly hung out. Sorry Grey! I'm glad you had your share of fun though.
We ran into a surprise friend from our very own town who we didn't even KNOW was furry! Drakon and his girl Kitty were there, who we know as fellow gamers from the local Cybercenter... and now as fellow furries! Shouts to both of them! It was good to see some other local furs at the con! And special thanks from me to them for helping Grey keep occupied.
Kenji got some prints replaced that had been badly damaged in a fire his family had suffered. Both of us also got a contact in the Hybrid Furs panel, Bree, who will be doing us a free model sheet for our characters ^.^ The Hybrid Panel itself was a total riot.
Lulu was an art machine as usual. I confess I should have spent more time being close to her at the con but the other friends I hadn't seen for so long wound me up a lot. I'm sorry love... I'm glad you were able to hang out with Kaji though.
I have a few contacts for possibly getting a good pic of my fursona - None other than Dark Natasha. She apparently does really good hybrids. (though my thought was "DUH...She does really good EVERYTHING.") I also might be able to make connections on getting fursuit stuff done, like ears, horns, footpaws and tail. (Wasn't able to find one single pair of tufted ears...) Making a full fursuit of Lynceus would be one hell of a project, though! I might talk with Diadexxus.
With any luck my friend on IRC will be able to finish my collar soon too. It might have been done in time for the con, but he abruptly lost his job so... yeah, making some fur a collar understandably dropped to a very low priority for him (Ok, actually I heard the news and told him to forget about it until he was back on his feet!).
I got two new con badges, one from Heather Bruton and one from Caribou ^.^ That brings me up to seven conbadges.
Anyway, I fully plan to attend FC09! I'll be booking early, since I don't want to bother with the overflow hotel next year - it's a hassle. As I said, the hotel itself is fine, it's just the shuttle that was a problem for us.
I enjoyed bringing my furry self out again, as I always do... it's just so much fun being among your own kind. I hope to see you all next year! Take care furs, and watch out for con crud!

UPDATE: According to the FC website, the actual number of fursuits was in fact 387! Holy crap!

The Hellgate is Open
General | Posted 18 years agoWell, my battle group in Hellgate: London has been playing since roughly Christmas Day and we've been having a blast.
Lulu, Grey, Brisk, Kenji and I have been playing a very young (it's only been online for about 3 months now) MMORPG from Flagship Studios called Hellgate: London. (Shulgoth US server.) The game's set in London, obviously, in the year 2038 - after a huge gate has formed in the city near the St. Paul's Cathedral. A gate leading straight to the depths of Hell itself. The gate has been open since 2020, and by the time of the game's events London is a charred ruin with very little human life.
Three groups rose up in the ashes to challenge the demons' terraforming of London into an extension of Hell ("The Burn") - the Templar, direct descendents of the Knights Templar from ages ago; the Hunters, the surviving ex-military technowizards; and the Cabalists, the strange mystical group who seeks to control and twist the demons' own power for use against them. Originally the Templar didn't trust the other two groups (especially the Cabalists!), but as time wore on the three factions banded together to strengthen their fight against the Burn.
Lulu and I are the Templar, the armored knights wielding melee weapons. Grey and Kenji are the Hunters, with powerful and high-tech guns and gadgets. Brisk is our Cabalist, wielding arcane energies only accessable since the Hellgate opened.
- - -
....Having said all that, I know some of you have probably heard of Hellgate, and chances are you have a less than stellar opinion of it. Fact is, I love it. Flagship, the company that made the game, is a smaller company that (despite being funded by EA) has far fewer resources than Blizzard.
In other words: Don't make the mistake of comparing this game to WoW, which I know you all want to.
Hellgate apparently has a somewhat bad reputation among the MMORPG community... probably because it has little PvP, my cynical hunch tells me. ("What do you mean I can't go mercilessly slaughter noobs for my own amusement?!") Frankly that's why I like it. I was getting heartily sick of gankers in WoW and wanted a game where I fought alongside other people, not against them. But I won't get into that, because my feelings on PvP are filled with much swearing, ranting and vivid visons of horrendously cruel physical violence upon those people who play honorlessly ;P
I credit Brisk with finding this game. Hellgate is somewhat unrefined, feeling a bit barebones in its interface, but as I said, the game's only been live for 3 months. I also understand EA pushed Flagship to release the game a year earlier than they wanted to... so it's going to have some problems. I think Flagship has the right to have a less than totally polished game in those circumstances... they're doing the best they can.
That said, Hellgate's the most fun I've had in a long time. It's more an action RPG, everything done by aim and fire in real time. Damage is still calculated via RPG mechanics, and Flagship has melded the gameplay together quite well! Not to mention the fact that they have a foolproof group looting system to completely eliminate squabbling over loot distribution.
Hellgate's my game lately. I'm sure a lot of you gamers probably spit on it, but I don't care. I have more fun in this game than I do in WoW, and that's all that matters to me right now. If you don't like it, you can kiss my fuzzy ass.
So wish us luck... the Hellgate awaits us!

Looking to get my collar made...
General | Posted 18 years agoHey furs, I just got back from the Collar Factory site and I'm wondering.
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/85586/
My collar. I'm sure all of you who have seen my fursona have seen him wearing it. Anyone have any idea how I might get this collar made? I was thinking some kind of translucent plastic attached to a padded band.
Anyone have any ideas?

Animal Crossing Flash video
General | Posted 18 years agoI recently ran into this flash video on the net, about a true story involving Animal Crossing.
It was touching, and I wanted to share it...

Seems to fit with the season, doesn't it? Be thankful for your family.

Birthday Dracat
General | Posted 18 years agoWell yesterday was my birthday. I'm 24 now... whee. *braces for all the "old man" jokes...*
It was a nice day. Work was easy, and when I got home I had a favorite meal and some goodies too. I got myself a new phone and memory card for it, plus some nice new pillows and comforter for my bed.
Saturday is when things are really going to take off though, I'm getting Lulu and all my friends together to have a day of fun. I just hope nothing comes up. Greymane says he's going to cook for me - which should be interesting considering he's a budding culinary student! He said something about cheesecake and a blowtorch >.> That's Grey for you, it always has to involve fire. :P
At any rate, I hope Saturday turns out well... so many things get in the way of me seeing my friends and cooncat nowadays. :(
Lulu and I were going to OC last night, but we were both just too tired. But stay tuned, we plan to do it tonight! And it'll be a special birthday OC, she tells me >.> This should be good ;)
Still alive and kicking, and now 24 years old!

A Great Weekend
General | Posted 18 years agoWell we're back to Monday morning. I have to say, it was a great weekend. Spent all of Saturday with my cooncat Lulu <3 and did many things, gaming and drawing and cuddling ^.^ Yesh, that was a great day.
Also a great day was Sunday! All my friends got together for a LAN party at Brisk's house. Lulu and I didn't do much gaming, but the other guys did - with a lot of good food and good times (and, after much hardship a 5-computer network!) the festivities commenced. The guys decided on Quake 2, a good classic.
Lulu and I didn't play much. I knew the network would be difficult to set up - it always is, despite Grey, Flynn and Blackhawk being very good computer techs - something always make things more difficult than they should be. Oh well!
Lulu and I were mostly playing a board game and drawing - and listening to the silly antics of everyone else :P I sadly was unable to really get any good drawing done :( Sorry everyone.
Anyway, we would have been at it late if not for nearly everyone having to work the next morning :P
Oh well. It was fun while it lasted ^.^

LANsanity Part 2: Halo 3
General | Posted 18 years agoScrew online gaming! I hate most of it anyway because of the honorless play and "winwinwinwinwinatallcostsevenifIhavetoplaysupercheapordownrightcheat" attitude!
(Note to anyone who shares my view: Play with friends you know. Only. Password your games. Talk about the game rules first. And to avoid all unpleasantness? PLAY CO-OP GAMES. I highly recommend Halo 3's co-op mode, or the co-op from any of the Halo games for that matter.)
Anyway, I am writing this addendum to the LANsanity journal to bring you the Halo 3 version of my squad's infamous destruction derby!
Meet Mongoose baseball! Set up the game as detailed in my last journal, except also throw gravity hammers into the mix. Gravity hammers have hilarious possibilities; you can deflect grenades and even rockets with them, I'm told! They really send players flying, and the Mongoose is the perfect vehicle to combine with their blast! (Ghosts don't work so well because they're hover vehicles, and warthogs are a bit too heavy.) So get on a Mongoose and charge a buddy with a grav hammer - and have him send you flying at the last second! Whee!
But wait, there's more! See where you can get a Mongoose for an even more ridiculous jump! Remember the big turbine in Zanzibar (now called Last Resort in Halo 3)? Get a Mongoose up THERE and launch it with someone aboard! Serious air time!
We drew a bit of a crowd doing this at the local cybercenter. See how many people you can convince to join the stupidity!

General | Posted 18 years agoHow To Have A Good Time Doing Nothing
Ingredients:
A LAN
UT2K4
Halo
Five insane friends (adjust as needed; at least four recommended)
Weebl & Bob's Crabs song (optional)
A lot of sugar and caffiene
First step: Create a LAN game of UT2K4. Use Invasion mode. Remove bots. Add the Zoom Instagib, Super Berserk, Quad Jump, and Low Gravity mods. Kick ass for 30+ minutes with flying players, gibs and laughs. Change your names to stupid things for giggles.
Second step: Create a LAN game of Halo. Use special rules that include no team damage, rocket launchers only, infinite grenades, etc. Get everyone on the same team and proceed to horribly abuse the game's physics engine by doing warthog jumping, warthog jousting, ghost jousting, tank dogpiles, banshee racing and other gratuitous misuses of the game. (This is what we call a "demolition derby.")
Third step: Make dirty jokes about the tanks mounting each other, laugh hysterically, ingest way too much caffiene and sugar, and listen to the Crabs song way too much during the events.
Fourth step: Decide this is more fun than playing the normal way.
Fifth step: Repeat.
Serves: as many as you can convince to join the stupidity.

Ask Me Questions!
General | Posted 18 years agoYou know, in light of the recent mess with that elitist artist here on FA who enraged what had to be at least 3/4 of the entire site's population, it occured to me that one (of many!) of that person's problems is they don't care to share what they know, they just want to spit on us from their perceived high horse.
It gave me an idea! :D
I thank each and every one of you for watching my art. It's an honor. But I figure I should throw out the opportunity - do you have any questions about HOW I do what I do? Techniques? Character creation? How do I come up with names? Anything at all. Ask away, I'm an open book! I'd love to share some knowhow if you want to hear it :)

Help For A Friend in Need
General | Posted 18 years agoHey furiends, I just wanted to let you know of something terrible that happened recently. On Friday evening my friend Kenji (www.furaffinity.net/user/masukari) called to tell me he had just been burned out of his house.
His family is all okay. The house is still standing; it's just been gutted. The fire was started by a parts washer on the ground floor, in his dad's shop, and ignited some solvent. Kenji told me that the nearby solvent tank could have, but did not, expode. That would have probably brought about the total destruction of the house.
Unfortunately, they have no insurance.
Since Kenji basically lost almost everything he owns, I took the liberty of going out and buying him something he's wanted for a while - a brand new Nintendo DS and some games. Gave it to him when he came over to drop off some salvaged stuff for safekeeping at my place - he was floored. I felt very good to have helped.
I figure he needed it, for when the shock wore off and the boredom of having nothing to do but work and salvage set in. For now he's staying with Greymane, and it's my squad's current mission to keep his spirits up. ^.^
Again, thank the heavens no one was hurt in the fire. Kenji told me that the fire's heat was so intense it melted plastic parts on his car - which was parked 30 meters from the house.
It could have been much worse, friends. Much worse.
