Some time ago I posted a journal saying that my cat was diagnosed with hepatic lipidosis. She's been under treatment since then, and she improved a lot, but her gallbladder has a inflammation that does not seem to improve. According to the vet, a normal cat gallbladder should be around 0,5cm and my cat's is around 2cm. She's all swollen in the belly area.

Since things did not improve with meds, and she's been taking meds for around a month, she'll need to go through surgery and it's quite expensive, R$3000 BRL (around $1500 USD).

I just want to inform I'll be opening commissions to raise money for her surgery, so if you want a commission from me, keep an eye open. I don't have specific dates or times to open, but I'll see if I can schedule an opening. If I can, I'll post a journal informing the correct day and time I'll open!

Her belly is shaved because of the ultrasonographies she had to go through, as well as her front paws and neck because of blood tests and medication.

So today my friend Marcotonio and I were sharing our funniest spam experiences. I swear, some of those just make me CRACK.

Once upon a time there was a cat and a jaguar. The cat was skillful in jumping and the jaguar wanted to be like the cat.

"Teach me how to jump!" asked the jaguar, and the cat agreed to do so.

With a new lesson everyday, the cat gave the jaguar his knowledge.

Be careful when teaching a jaguar how to jump.

I'm sure there are many versions of this fable, but this one is based on the Brazilian version.

So yeah, I don't use that thing that often, but maybe with more people to interact I'd use it more? I know it's pretty handy when it comes to showing commission progress and all, so I'm willing to give it a chance.

And I really do. I love drawing! I am passionate about drawing. I love drawing for myself and I love drawing for others, be it commissions or gifts for my close friends. I love studying art: drawing techniques, old masters, books, work from others. They do not make me feel bad for not being as good as them, but inspire me to become a better artist. Because I know nothing comes without effort.

Every new character or scene I get to draw, a new challenge I get to surpass, and it fills me with incredibly strong energy, that renovates itself every time I get to do it again.

Seeing the messy lines turning to life, completely bent under the soft movements of my hand is like playing god, giving life to creatures and scenes I want, the way I want. It's a sensation I cannot describe with words! And it's wonderful!

It's not always easy, of course. "Blocks" eventually come and fill me with anger, frustration, maybe sadness, but deep inside, I know they'll eventually be gone after some time, all I need to do is respect the natural cycle of production. Nothing can be productive 100% of the time. Even nature has its phase of cooldown.

And then, what comes after the bad valley, is a peak of productivity and satisfaction!

Of course, there are things I don't enjoy drawing, but since I've decided to take art as my career, I've also decided to not draw them, because I want to love what I do, and do what I love. Even if it sounds utopic, I feel my life got better and happier after I took this decision. And I think it shows on what I make. A drawing made with love is always going to look better than a drawing made without it!

I just wanted to share a bit of what I am feeling now. There are so many "bad feeling" journals out there, that I wanted to create " "good feelings" journal. Maybe someone out there feels the same way as me?

And of course, I love you too! My dear watchers and supporters, without you, it wouldn't be as good as it is now. <3

At first I just made an account here to lurk, because I discovered you could post adult artwork here and I wanted to see everything from my favorite artists hahahaha. Then I thought, since I'm already here, why don't start posting stuff too? So I did!

It makes reference to my character Nae. I wanted to show my newfound love for insects and my favorite color. XD

Nae, my current favorite character and protagonist of Blade Under Mask.

I only keep watching or admiring artists if their personality also can be admired. Even if their art is the same level of Da Vinci's, I will unwatch them in a heartbeat if their actions bother me.

I comment more than I fav. I only fav stuff I really like, and fanart. I love replying to the comments I receive though!

Never, I love this place too much to leave it. XD

Saw new watchers popping in your inbox and wondered where they came from? I do that all the time! Often I look at their favorites and see they faved a submission of mine, or a fanart or commission, or work I did for someone that they posted!

But sometimes there's no indication at all and it makes me cuuurious!


How did you find me? <3

I REALLY need it. I'm extremely exhausted and haven't been able to sleep properly for the last week.

As many of you know, out cat is sick. I noticed she wasn't eating at all so  LotusNegra and I took her to a vet. He made some blood tests and diagnosed her hepatitis. He then prescribed a bunch of meds for her, all of them were either pills of liquid. I basically had to wake up every one hour to give her meds with a syringe. The worst part is that she wasn't healing at all. Her condition just worsened. She was extremely lethargic, didn't drink, didn't eat, and was extremely dizzy. She couldn't walk properly because she'd stumble to her sides. Because of that she couldn't use her sandbox, so we kind of needed to foresee whenever she needed to use it so we could take her to it or else she'd pee on herself and on our furniture/bed. We needed to bathe her at least five times because we couldn't notice she wanted to use it. We also needed to force feed her, again needing to wake up every one hour.

We then decided we'd take her to someone specialized in felines. The new vet diagnosed her not with hepatitis, but with hepatic lipidosis and prescribed new meds to be taken through her skin (I'm too tired to look at the correct term for this but basically we'd lift her skin and inject a needle with meds and then the skin would absorb it). We saw our cat's condition improve drastically only some hours after she had taken the meds. She's now much better, she's drinking, eating, using her sandbox, meowing all the time and grooming herself. She's still a bit dizzy and often stumbles to her sides again, but it's improving.

We had 1000$ (!) worth of vet bills, and about half of those 1000$ were practically thrown away at an incompetent vet. Thankfully our cat is better now.

But I seriously need some sleep.

And then you may ask "Why aren't you sleeping right now, WhiteMantis?!"

Because I FUCKING CAN'T. People here just don't let me sleep. They keep entering the room, turning the lights on, opening the curtains, speaking loudly, making noises and I have an extremely light sleep. It takes one needle falling on the floor for me to wake up. I'M JUST PLAIN STRESSED RIGHT NOW I want to fly at their heads and bite them off so they could shut up forever and let me sleep. FHGAHFSHFDJASNAS

I have a ton of emails to reply and can't get myself to even read them properly. So, I'm sorry for the delays, I'll do my best to reply to them all, but not right now.




TL;DR: My cat is sick, I'm fucking tired and have a wholebunch of emails to reply which is going to take a while to.

Need more money to pay the ever-increasing vet bills for my cat with hepatitis, $500 so far and going up!

There are so many things I want to learn like 3D art, digital music composing, sculpting! And things that I want to practice like animation or illustration!

I wish I could clone myself and order every new Nae to do those things and at the end of the day I'd just fuse myself with them again, earning their new knowledge as well as the pleasure and frustration they've been through the learning process!

Thank you very much for all the replies and suggestions in my last journal! I can't reply to tem all individually because I'd be basically repeating myself and thanking the commenters, but I've read them all and they mean a lot! I was really surprised by the amount of positive feedback I received regarding posting! I knew I wasn't the only one with this 'weirder' side, but finding more people like me is always amazing!

So, I'll indeed post the pictures!

Also, apparently you can't disable thumbnails, just choose at which size they are displayed so I can still rely on them! Combining that with "Title [WARNING]" is also going to make things a lot easier. I'll make some sort of special 100x100 thumbnails (the minimum size required) for that kind of stuff so people will know what is about. Warnings are going to be present, don't worry.

To those concerned about me "changing my style" to or "filling my gallery entirely" with gore... that's absolutely out of question!! XD I don't draw it that much! I can easily say that only 1 out of 15 or 20 drawings has one of the subjects I mentioned in the previous journal, and still, there's a chance I won't post it for personal reasons so don't worry, your inbox will still be mostly filled with asiatic anthro bugs from me! XD

I'm going straight to the point and well, I need your help regarding art posting... lets say sometimes I like to draw things with a bit of... blood. Sexual or not. It's not often, but does happen. Usually doesn't involve the more grotesque stuff like dismembering or beheading or any form of vore (I really dislike vore), but cuts, scratches, slashes, some choking and other rough/forceful stuff tend to be present.

The vast majority of those will never be shared publicly for personal reasons, but some I want to share, either because I like the results and am proud of the art or for whatever other reason.

The problem is that I don't want to scare my audience, lol. I am terrified of people thinking wrong of me, even though in my head it will always be pure fantasy, not related in any way to real life, but some people are just... ugh. You get me, I'm sure.

Part of me says "Screw it, Nae! Post it anyway!" because Blade Under Mask is going to have a certain amount of violent stuff (Kurohasu's katanas are not made of rubber, you know? Plus Berserk, Blade of the Immortal and Basilisk are my main comic influences hahaha) and I am NOT going to censor any pages.

But the other part is... a coward. Really afraid of the consequences.

Some time ago thumbnails in FurAffinity were obligatory and I used to make real good use of them for certain stuff, but now thumbnails are optional and I'm sure many have them disabled. It's hard to create some sort of warning without thumbnails. I'd add thumbnails any way, but I'd still be concerned about those who have them disabled. Even though, if you disable them, it means you're ready to face weird stuff without warning, right?

Creating a side account is out of question. I really don't like managing multiple accounts, even more if I need to logoff and relogin again or change browsers so... I'd rather not post them than post them to a side account.

Any suggestions? :c
