ANTHROCON TIME!

I am very excited to head back to Pittsburgh and AC this year, I had a hell of a time requesting the time off work and school, but was able to pull it all together in the end. This will be my 6th consecutive year attending, but MY FIRST time attempting to take a swing at the artist alley!
You can find me in the alley FRIDAY only (unless i get alot of interest or enjoy it enough to try to fill seats on the other days) Just look for WhiteWing on the board
My art will be extremely cheap as i mentioned before. Prices start as low as $1 and will not exceed $20! You can't beat that. Every dollar helps pay off my room and gas, don't be shy ;)
Everyone is welcome to come check out my table and chat if you like, i don't bite!
You'll find no con meme here, if you have any burning questions feel free to ask away. I wish everyone going the best, lets make it a great year!

Pre Anthrocon: FREE ART!
Posted 11 years agoHello all, I'm hastily getting ready for Anthrocon in all of my free time and am feeling in the mood to sketch some characters for practice!
I am very excited for this years con because it will be my first time working in the artist alley. If you are going to AC please feel free to come over and check out my stuff and say hi. My prices will be very low (starting at $5 and not going over $20!)
I always try to please my customers and put as much effort as possible into ensuring they are pleased with the art they pay for and receive so am very flexible. I will be working for sure FRIDAY and may do other days if i get alot of interest and seats are available.
Onto the free art! There are no rules (though i would be EXTREMELY appreciative if you spread the word around to everyone you know going to Anthrocon) Just comment below with a ref or description and i will pick out three sketches to complete as fast as possible. I want to get a feel for how quickly i can draw some requests.
They will be all pencil sketches and you can ask for themes, mood, anything you like. No first come first serve. I will just pick 3 i find to be eye catching/challenging!

Your Opinion on Species? Help!

What are some species (real or not) that you really enjoy seeing but rarely do on FA? What do you look for in art? A specific creature? A situation? Mood? Color? etc.
What catches your eye and what are you bored as hell of seeing?

Dozens of Exotic Animals Shot

I've been following this upsetting story since early last night, reportedly over 48 dangerous exotic animals including lions, snow leopards, cheetas, tigers, wolves, grizzly and black bears have been let loose in the night after the owner was found dead. Police speculate that he released the animals then killed himself.
About 30 -35 of these animals were shot and killed by police in the night. Despite that an african wildlife sanctuary was litterally up the road and despite efforts from Jack Hanna and the Columbus Zoo to capture the terrified animals alive, they are being shot on sight. The police say that some of the exotics have been captured alive though these were the animals (mainly chimps and monkeys) still encaged in the home itself as well as a couple that remained in the open cages overnight..
From last nights press confrence it would seem that as police were coming up the 40 acre property main drive way with assult rifles, they opened fire on the first 25 animals wandering confused on the property itself. In what I feel is bad taste, news crews have released photos of a dead, bloodied male lion and black bear curled up dead, left in the rain.
I understand that the main concern of the police is to eliminate any threat to the general public. The schools are closed down today as an added precaution. I understand that human life is valued over the animals..what I cannot understand is why it is so easy in the state of Ohio to own these exotic animals. This is just one person, one man housing several dozen large predators among other exotic animals. I pray that people will learn from this tragedy and that stricter laws can be passed preventing the general population from owning these endangered animals.
Please DO NOT buy exotic animals. I don't care how much your pet tiger or wolf 'loves and understands' you. They are WILD animals whether you raise them from infancy or not. I love animals but would never be naive and selfish enough to presume I could turn an endanged predator into a pet, let alone DOZENS.
Because of human neglegence, these rare and precious animals are being destroyed
