Okay, I finally made up my mind about this..........
Posted 17 years agoOkay, y'all MAY have noticed that I haven't updated my Galleries in awhile, and the REASON for that is that my Internet connection is cold molasses-slow, as far as speed goes (I have dial-up, sadly), and my current comp (that I have rather "affectionately" taken to calling "The Beast") is an aging, slowly-becoming-obsolete, slow piece of junk! Ergo, after a LOT of serious thought on MY part (resulting in a few sleepless nights), I've pretty much decided NOT to update here (OR any of my OTHER art-pages (DA; etc.)) til I get a newer comp AND (hopefully) a high-speed Internet connection.
On the subject of the comp, I already have one in mind, and in my sights, so all that I REALLY need now is the cash to get it. I pretty much have SOME money for it already (curtesy of my income tax refund for this year), and will soon be getting the rest of it (due to some kind of government rebate). And the same goes for my High-speed Internet.
I'm ALSO going to getting an art-prog. FOR said comp (PS Elements 5.0, or better, at least), as well as downloading some from the Inetrnet (free ones like GIMP, for instance), so I can make my art look better.
So that's pretty much it. No new uploads til I get me new comp and stuff. But THAT shuldn't be too long, from what I know now.
So thankies for being so patient with me on my sparse Galleries and uploads, guys; I really appreciate it. More than you know, in fact.

Well, THIS doesn't sound good........
Posted 17 years agoI got this in my e-mail from an art site that I subscribe to, "DaniDraws" (VERY cool stuff she has, but that's NOT the point of this) the other day, and it got me uneasy about PhotoBucket. Read it for yourselves, and tell me what YOU guys think:
"I just received an email from reader Melissa (http://wickedeye.wordpress.com )about a petition regarding the popular image-sharing site PhotoBucket.
This is what she said:
As you might know Photobucket.com is one of the biggest image hosting services online. What many Photobucket users are not aware of is that any image in a public Photobucket gallery is available as a print through Photobucket’s partner site Qoop. Unfortunately art theft is common, and many people find images they like online and then post them to their Photobucket accounts, after which those images are then available to be printed.
Jonathan Bailey of PlagiarismToday.com has joined forces with many internet artists to create a petition asking Photobucket’s owners and administrators to revise their policies to help protect artist’s rights. They are asking that the print service be changed so that only album owners can print their own images, and that they utilize an existing form of copyright protection that uses digital “fingerprints” of image files that have been reported to prevent repeat uploads of infringed artwork."
(The NEXT part is HER comments on things.)
"I have never used PhotoBucket before, so I did a little investigating of my own. I was surprised by what I saw.
I took a visit to the PhotoBucket.com, clicked on a random user and viewed one of their photos. Sure enough, there was a “Buy Prints” link right at the top of the picture, where you could get a whole variety of stuff from posters to coffee mugs.
I can see where this can get an artist into a whole mess of trouble. If you upload a bunch of your artwork, people will be able to get prints of your stuff, with the money going straight to Qoop and PhotoBucket — not you. It also disturbs me that any visitor could look at this and think that’s totally okay, that the artist is advocating buying prints from their PhotoBucket account.
The only way around this is to set the photo to “private.” But then, what’s the point of using an image-sharing site?
This is a good time to remind all of us artists to be careful about where we choose to put our artwork. (In fact, this reminds me of another concern about Facebook that was made by artist agent Anna Goodson some time ago. Read about it here: http://thelittlechimpsociety.com/th.....ors-be-a-ware/.) Nevertheless, web services like these can be really helpful, and it would be nice if PhotoBucket took a little more consideration for the people who like to use their site.
You can read the full article here: http://www.plagiarismtoday.com/2008.....r-photobucket/
And view the petition here: http://www.petitiononline.com/pbarts/petition.html
Do any of you currently use PhotoBucket to share your artwork? And if you do, did you know about this feature? If you have any thoughts, go ahead and leave a comment."
As it happens, I DO use PhotoBucket for posting my art (mostly on the forums that I'm a member of, AND for posting my avatars/icons for places like this, and DA, AND for my siggy-pics for the aforementioned forums. Because of this, I decided to check this info, and to MY everlasting shock, that "Buy Prints" button IS there! I was NOT a happy camper about this, I can tell you THAT! At least over at DA, you have the OPTION of having a "Buy Prints" button (or however THEY do it), or not!
And I ALSO don't like the idea that PhotoBucket and this partner of theirs get the money from the sales of said pics! Some of the pics on my PB account are my OWN art, and I should be the one to get the cash off of them, NOT them!!!
They SRSLY need to bone up on the copyright laws over there. I can't speak for anyone else who's a member there, but MOST of my Aavas and siggy-pics are from well-known, copyrighted stuff like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (both the TV series AND the comics), the Biker Mice From Mars (the TV series) and the SWAT Kats (ditto). Heck, MOST of my PERSONALLY-DONE art is either BMFM, TMNT or SK-related. But at least I put copyright notices ON my art and fics.
I'll tell you what: PB and Qoop are SRSLY setting themselves up for some SERIOUS trouble with this, in case they don't know it.
So what do YOU guys think about this?

Hey, I DID it!!!!
Posted 18 years agoHey, guys, I DID it! I FINALLY got the pic-submission thing to work, and have uploaded my very FIRST pic! I hope ya like it! More to come, promise!!! Hehehe..............!!!
Now, if I can just figure out a way to get rid of those darned annoying JPEG artifacts.........................
Oh, well, that's for later. I think I'll just bask in the joy of my triumph for now. *grinz hugely and happily*
EDIT: Well, I've uploaded enough pics for tonight, peeps. I'm bushed, so I'm gonna call it a night and hit the hay. I've got some more pics that I'm going to upload, but later, k? My back's killing me.
'Sides...the TMNT toon is on TWICE tomorrow, and I'm going to see the TMNT movie for the THIRD time sometime tomorrow afternoon (haven't been to a matinee in literally YEARS, it'll be fun!), so I'm hittin' it.
Night, all.;)

Okay, I need help here...........!!!
Posted 18 years agoOkay, NORMALLY I WOULDN'T bring something like this up in a Journal-entry, but I am getting MAJORLY desperate here!
Why? HERE'S why:
Okay, I've been a member here for nearly a YEAR now (it'll BE a year on May 6th), and I STILL don't have ANY pics up here except my avatar! I've tried and I've TRIED, but ALL that I get is just a big red "X" where the pic is SUPPOSEDto be! (Oh, the THUMBNAIL comes out fine, but the MAIN pic comes out as the Dreaded Red "X", like I said.)
What I want to know IS, just WHAT the hairy heck am I doing WRONG?! I had someone tell me that it MIGHT be that the file-size is too big, but I just don't know. I can submit a pic to DA, and not have a BIT of trouble. I - I just don't know WHAT I'm doing WRONG! Help? Please.
If ANYBODY around here can help me, I'd certainly appreciate it! I got this page so I could upload art at somewhere BESIDES DA on occassion. So ANY pointers that ANYONE around here can throw my way would be, as I've said, GREATLY appreciated.
*sighs* And that's it for now.

Not much going on...............
Posted 18 years agoLike the title of this entry says, there's not much going on around here lately. Been drawing some, and doing some writing, but otherwise, it's quiet. Rather boring, really.
On another note, I KNOW that I haven't uploaded anything here yet, but I've been kinda busy. Mostly contending with insane in-laws. Bleah. NOT fun, TRUST me on THAT one!
Anyway, I hope to have some art uploaded here soon, if all goes well. Thank you ALL for being so INCREDIBLY aptient with this oft-times lazy, mostly busy Mousey. Things WILL change, where my now-empty Galleries are concerned. Knock on wood (my noggin).

My very FIRST FA Journal entry...........
Posted 18 years agoHeyas, everyone.
Well, this is my first Journal entry here. Hopefully, I won't sound TOO stupid with what I say. Anyway, here goes.
I've been a member here at FA for awhile now, and I know that many of you (ESPECIALLY my buddies from DA, SA (you know who you are); etc.) have wondered WHY I haven't posted any of my art here yet, and the answer is very simple: RL's been driving me terminally NUTS lately. I know that may not be much of an excuse, but it's the truth.
One of those RL-happenings was that my brother's mother-in-law passed away February 11 after a 3-year battle with cancer, which she faced bravely, right up til the end. It was bad enough losing her as it was, but even worse is the fact that Feb. 11 was ALSO her 50th birthday! As you can well imaging, that was NOT a real good day for those of us who knew her. Colleen was a fine, wonderful lady who was much loved by her family and friends, and she WILL be missed. Very MUCH so.
Her passing was also wrenching for me, because my OWN 50th birthday was only 2 days before hers, on February 9th. Gave me something to think about, let me tell you! I think I started appreciating my OWN mom a lot more than I already did (IF that's even possible! My mom is my best friend in this world!!!).
Anyway, I know that I've learned to appreciate life a lot more, and to NOT take things for granted. My health, my family, and many other things. And don't you guys, either. Life is WAY too short for that. TRUST me on THAT one!
Anywho, all that said, I hope to get some of my art up here soon. I would've had some up before this, but things always seemed to go wrong (I HAVE tried to, but either my comp took too long, or my Internet connection did, OR the site's server itself did, and so I just wound up GIVING up!). Hopefully, though, I can soon, as I DO want to post my humble art here. I mean, heck, that's WHY I GOT the darned thing in the FIRST place! So be on the look out for them, okay? Cool.
Oh, and since y! Gallery is being so stupid and persnikity about not allowing anthro and/or furry yaoi pics anymore (except on certain, specific areas), I plan on posting my TMNT; etc. yaoi pics here, as well. I'm NOT really comfortable about posting them at DA, for reasons that I can't go into right now.
Aaaaaand that's all for now, folks. So til NEXT time, this is your friend Wolfie, signing off!
