July Begins
General | Posted a year agoAs of writing this post, it is July 1st. Day 183 of 2024, with 183 days remaining. The middle of the year.
since the first of the year I've maintained posting a minimum of one image a day. (Average) This is a personal goal for myself because of how many years I allowed my art to go underutilized. As of this day I have posted 204 images. I hope to reach the end of the year having posted 366 images, one for each day of the year. (Leap year)
When I started I had doubts I could maintain this pace. But as we have reached the half way point. I am less skeptical.

July's Plans
General | Posted a year agoAs June and Pride Month comes to a close, I'll be weaning off the Pride posts, however, I'm still coloring a lot of the Black and white images I posted. So those will continue to show up as we move forward. Might not have an immediate theme to work with, which means letting my muses bounce me like a rubber ball wherever they want.
Pride is nearing an end, what next?
General | Posted a year agoAs of today, June is 2/3 over. I have to admit, I found the idea of a whole theme of images quite satisfying. I've even bee considering a theme idea for August. Though honestly, I have too many.
What do you think? If you could pick one, which would you like to see as a theme for a months worth of images.
1. Camping
2. Sci-fi, Space
3. Sci-fi, Alien encounters
4. Barbarians
5. Domestic (regular day stuff but with nude or briefs
6. Fan Art (Rule 34)
I mean, my ideas are always all over the map, because I have a lot of creative directions to pursue, but who knows, how the public feels who watches this page and my journals feels may shape the direction I take first.
Feel free to leave a response about which one you'd want to see and why below.

Goal Accomplished
General | Posted a year agoI have completed the inked stages of enough images to represent one for each day of June, AKA Pride Month. As a result, I'll focus on coloring more to get some caught up. But this means I will be doing a few double, or even triple postings in the near future.
I have a personal ambition of submitting one image for every day of 2024. As of this point, I'm keeping track with this goal. Pride month actually boosted that. I have a surplus of images and will occasionally be submitting extra images on some days to get Pride images hopefully all done by the end of the month. May be a few stragglers.

Pride Month
General | Posted a year agoBeginning the First of June I will start posting images based off a Pride / Carnivale theme. Celebrations of lewdness and color. Although it'll likely be black and white linear initially. As of this point, requests are closed again until I get this completely caught up.
Half way through the year
General | Posted a year agoA few days back, I marked an anniversary. Of a day where I almost died, but did not. Looking back on the year past, I've had a lot of changes and development I had to do. The return to art is about health and growth. It helps me heal. That is one of the reasons I'm not taking open ended commissions or requests. That's a future thing when I feel secure in my health.
Meanwhile, Stratosfur is at the end of the month. A furcon in my city is a big deal. So I will check it out. So if you are there, look me up.
Requests close at the end of the month on May 31st. Starting June 1st I will be posting images part of my Pride series to Celebrate Pride Month. I will be aiming to have one image for everyday of the month.
On a more long term project I have kept my pace up and currently have posted an equal number of pieces of art to the number of days in this year, up to date. My goal is to hit 2025 with 366 postings of the digital style artwork.

Final Request Reminder
General | Posted a year agoIf you missed previous posts, I am accepting requests at the moment. Until the end of the month at least. After that I may not be taking on any more.
I am working on a series of Pride / Carnivale themed images for June since it is Pride Month. However, I can only accept so many.
If you wish to make a request, go to https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/10863508/
Make sure to read the guidelines and post requests there.
Thank you.

General | Posted a year agoAn update and an Offer:
I have gotten to where I feel pretty comfortable with my drawing pace, So, I will be opening up my first Requests for this year. There are specific rules to follow, so make sure you read them all before requesting.
Since next month is June and Gay Pride Month, I am going with a Festivale theme. So your requests will be following that theme.
Examples of what I will be doing are like the following, and more:
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/55102726/
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/55102499/
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/55102432/
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/55759874/
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/56438904/
Rules and Guidelines:
1. This is for the Festivale/Gay Pride theme. There are no other theme requests at this time.
2. Only one request. Please don't flood. I may reopen the list for a second run in the future, at which point you could make a second.
3. No extreme proportions. No hyper genitalia. No macro, Micro. I'm still redeveloping and need to keep some anatomy familiar to me.
4. These are festival/parade images so only content that would be appropriate for those venues in real life with one exception. Nudity is ok.
5. Only one figure/person per request, per image. These are solos.
6. You may request an OC, your fursona, or a fan character. But you may need to provide references upon request. Failure to do so will delay images.
7. You can request the following be added to your image. a. Confetti. b. Flags. (You may want to include reference to any specific flags just to make sure I don't get confused. Ex. Pride, trans, bear, pup) c. Ribbons/streamers d. Loincloths, briefs, harnesses, outfit ideas. (Note, I may choose to limit based on design.)
8. I will at all times maintain the authority to refuse images than I do not want to do, with or without explanation. These are requests, are unpaid, and are solely my discretion to complete. Please no guilt, shaming, nagging, or begging.
9. You may make a request as to what the character is 'doing' in the image, but I may tweak, or change that at my discretion due to ability or design. So keeping it simple makes it more likely to get the image in a timely manner.
10. These are unpaid requests. I will not make additional changes to the images. And I am not committed to a timeline for anyone. (My life can be complicated at times and I may have to make adjustments.)
That out of the way, How to make a request:
Read the rules above first. If your request violates one, I will ignore it and I am not always good about letting people know they need to adjust their requests.
1. post a reply to this journal with the following, preferably in this order.
a. The character you want in the image. (Only one)
b. Clothing or accessories they are wearing.
c. Preferred action of the character. Dancing, throwing beads, etc... Think Pride and Festivale.
d. Specific details in the image like flags and their types, banners, body paint, feathers, confetti, other.
2. If you feel uncomfortable making a post semi public in the replies, post a reply in the journal saying: "Making a Request." then send me a DM about your request. Following all the same rules. This is important due to next rule.
3. Only one request. Period. (Art will generally be done in order of requests, but is not guaranteed. That is why even if you make a request with details via DM's, you need to make a journal post.)
Feel free to post questions or DM me if you have any questions or concerns.
These are unpaid requests...
However...
If upon completion you want to send me a tip, we can discuss how best to do that. Please note, this is exactly what I am saying it is. No hidden meanings. It's 100% optional and will not be discussed until the completion of the image, so it will have no bearing on how fast your image is done.
Thank you to everyone in advance and let's have some fun!

May around the corner
General | Posted a year agoAt this point in 2024, I've managed to keep a near daily posting routine for artwork. I hope to continue to do that throughout the year. I have realized that my sketches have gotten out of control. For every idea I finally finish, I have 15 more... So I need to focus on the catch up there. But it is nice, especially after 2022 and 2023, which will forever be some of the worst years of my life, to be able to return to things that bring me joy without having to compromise anything. I started up my quilting again too.
This means finishing quilts for charity and for relatives who are having babies. (I try to make everyone in the family a baby quilt for their newborns.) However, that will mean postponing the YCH request plan for a month or two. I have some family related gifts and projects I need to prioritize before diving into a major art project right now. But I will keep things updated here.
And on a different note:
You are loved. It is easy to forget that. We bury ourselves in our pain and suffering. It eats away the light until we can only see darkness. I see so many of my friends, companions, and even just random acquaintances suffering right now. The past few years have led to a historic loss of life globally. Many are suffering in one way or another.
Just remember this... If family cannot pull you back to the light, nor friends... Get help. Find a therapist. REACH out to friends or others if you cannot find a therapist. Mental health was considered the butt of a joke when I was a child. As a result, many of my generation do not take it seriously.
Don't let the darkness consume you. I've been there. I hope to never be there again, but I wish it on no one as well.
We are loved.

April, 2024
General | Posted a year agoI continue to grow with my drawings, trying new concepts and ideas. Some of which are not new to me, in the sense, I came up with them years ago, but lacking time and/or motivation, failed to get them done, so put them in my infamous 'notebook'. An old school, college ruled, 5 subject notebook, filled with ideas and drawing concepts I made notes of so I wouldn't forget, and yet never got around to. This new ambitious period brought to light the need to revisit old concepts and reacquaint myself with my muses.
I may open a free/request YCH series I want to do. A sort of you pick the species and I throw it into a Festivale/Mardi Gras/Parade style event. I'd like to get some feedback in advance from anyone who reads these journals to determine how much interest may be there for that.
Also, sometimes hard to grasp that I've been drawing furry art for 30 years...

My hopefully regular monthly update
General | Posted 2 years agoAs I am trying to post on a very regular schedule, I'm now trying to post some information about myself and my art development roughly once a month as well.
One of the first things to happen after I started drawing again was for folks to start messaging me asking if I accept commissions or requests.
And at this moment, it's still no on both fronts.
Commissions basically turn art to work, and right now for a myriad of reasons, I need my art to be fun and self fulfilling. But that does not exclude the possibility in the future.
As for requests, that has always been a door for me to open when I need to get creative juices flowing. When I do accept requests, I will post a special journal listing the rules and conditions and time to put in such requests.
In the mean time, I've been working with both Fan art and custom creations. I've also been doing the occasional Gift art. Nothing to complex, just fun and silly images.
TFF is just around the corner and I am looking to attend, but still waiting for confirmation from work on the time off. They have been horrid about this for a full year and have destroyed many a plan to go out to big social events. Here's to hoping I can finally force their hand in the future.
As for now, continue to expect almost daily images from me for a while and roughly a weekly colored one, unless I get a lot more time on my hands.

How it is going from here
General | Posted 2 years agoAs we get into February of this year, It is time for me to look back and see what I have done the past few months artistically.
The dive into digital artwork has been amazing. I have much more firmly gotten the hang of the techniques and the scale of things. I've been drawing a lot, so I've been experimenting a lot. As such I'm seeing some much needed growth in my artwork that has been limited in the Furry aspect of artwork for the past decade really.
I will still do traditional artwork. I can never just give it up, but now I can focus on art that lends itself to those media of choice versus trying to shoehorn it to fit the desired drawing type.
I missed drawing Furry themed art. More than I realized.
I have ideas all the time. I have this massive notebook filled, (And I mean filled) with all the ideas I wanted to draw. For the first time in ages, I'm marking things out of it again. Meanwhile, My muses are wide awake and still dropping ideas left and right.
I've begun world building an entire series of images around the Ourvian Wastes and the cultures surrounding it. As well as an entire series of images around a space station called Sigma Rho Station. So, hopefully I can find some time to squeeze in some stories again.
You will also start seeing a familiar theme of a different sort soon enough. Rule 34. Drawing fan art was how I got into furry art, so I was definitely going to return to drawing my favorite characters. Bowser, Swat Kats, Splinter, Rocket... expect to see some familiar faces.
My coloring digitally is progressing as I'm learning that set of techniques as well. However, I find the process of drawing versus coloring very different. Drawing can be stimulating and get me riled up. Coloring is relaxing and calming. So I have different moods for each. But I will continue with each.
Thanks everyone who continue to comment and thanks to anyone watching me and discovering my art for the first time.

New Year, New Approach
General | Posted 2 years ago2023, saw a lot of ordeals for me, including a near death experience.
It also saw some new developments.
I finally set aside my traditional media to attempt digital artwork for the first time. I invested in the tech and started my exploration. And to my surprise it started to come to me quite easily. I had to unlearn a few things, learn some new ones... and relearn some others. But I will be working the start of 2024 with new submissions, going back to my earliest days of art in the Furry Community. Returning to old themes, and unfinished ideas, but with a new fresh medium and approach.
Here's to a new year of possibilities!

Acceptance and tolerance is a sword
General | Posted 2 years agoAnd it can cut both ways.
I see the same arguments popping up again since it's Pride Month. People in the Furry Community trying to suggest Gay has no place in Furry. Forgetting of course the number of conventions created by the LGBTQ community. Then when people call them out on their intolerance they invoke the Paradox of Tolerance.
"You can't be intolerant of my opinion, or you are not really being very Tolerant are you?"
Except that is not how it works.
There are two sides of Furry.
The Furry Fandom
The Furry Community.
The Fandom is a collection of people who love, enjoy anthropomorphic ideas and concepts.
The Community however is different. It includes the Fandom, but is the world the Furry's made for themselves. The Conventions, the websites, the archives, the comic books, the novels, the furmeets... and so much more, built by Furries for Furries to enjoy.
However, this is the catch... The Community has Always been about acceptance. Your race, your gender, your sexuality... All of that is welcome and accepted. But your intolerance is not. No one ever said the community accepts EVERYTHING. The things the community does not accept is intolerance and bigotry.
You cannot be a part of the furry community in reality if you are sexist, racists, homophobic, anti-(Insert religion here)... Not because the Furry Community will kick you out, but because you were never a part of the community to begin with. The Furry Community doesn't have to reject racists, or homophobes... Those people are not a part of the furry community and never were.
They can be part of the Fan base, but not the community.
Think of it this way. You have a table with assorted fruit. Bananas, apples, pears, grapes... etc... And you start sorting that fruit. You take all the edible fruit and place it in one bowl and all the spoiled or inedible fruit is left on the table. The fruit is like the Fandom... All of it is fruit. But the fruit being sorted into the bowl is like the furry community. It includes so much variety and is edible and good.
That which is left behind doesn't qualify as part of that which is in the bowl.
This is a flawed analogy, I admit, because it shows someone sorting them... But in real life, the furry fandom sorts itself. Those who provide for the community, those who host events or organize conventions, those who volunteer, those who create art or literature, the makers and creators, they planners and organizers... all these people give something solid and positive to the community. Those who suit and buy and go to events also proved for the community.
But those who seek to cut out members of the community for being different... because they are gay... or trans, or black... they steal from the community. They erode and take without returning anything. They have no value to the community.
So they fail to qualify as even being in the community. Not because someone gate keeps... But because they were a "never-was". They were never a part of the furry community because they never provided the one thing required to be part of the community... Tolerance/Accceptance. They are not rejected or removed, they never actually became part of it in the first place.
This is the real Paradox of the furry Fandom. How so many FANS fail to join the furry COMMUNITY in the first place, but still wish to be included.
I've been a part of the Community since the 90's. I was there when anti-gay sentiment disguised itself as 'burned' and demanded adult content be removed 'for the children'. But they only focused on gay content. I was there when racists wanted to make it whites only. I was there when the ones who actually made the conventions and meet ups refused to abide by those flawed ideals. And instead allowed all types of furries to come in as long as they were accepting of the others.
Nothing has changed except the labels the intolerant use.
I see the same arguments popping up again since it's Pride Month. People in the Furry Community trying to suggest Gay has no place in Furry. Forgetting of course the number of conventions created by the LGBTQ community. Then when people call them out on their intolerance they invoke the Paradox of Tolerance.

An overdue statement, but sincerly felt.
General | Posted 5 years agoThe furry fandom is an interesting place. It is home to the rejected, the misused, and maligned. We've all been bullied, beaten, shoved, pushed, harmed by others. We've been ridiculed, harassed, threatened and dismissed. And this is often BEFORE we discover the fandom.
The fandom exists because we have a shared interest. But the Furry Community exists because we ALL know what it means to be hurt and looked down upon. THAT'S why the fandom has so many out LGBTQ members. THAT'S why we have so many different racial and gender types in the fandom. We all know what it means to be left out and isolated. So the fandom is built on the core principle of inclusion without shame. Being part of a community.
That's why the fandom has survived so many years despite over exaggerated media reports, threats, actual attacks, and protesters. We live as a unified group and yet can maintain our own sense of individuality.
Now comes the part where is is controversial, and it shouldn't be.
You cannot be a furry and declare anyone else as inferior or less. If you are claiming to be a furry and you are espousing rhetoric that suggest Black people are anything other that people who deserve the same rights as everyone else, you should not be in this fandom, because you have violated it's core tenant.
It's not Your fandom. It's OUR fandom, as in it's part of US. IF you call it your fandom, you're taking ownership over something you are only a part of. We built this fandom on the sense that EVERYONE was welcome. So to be clear, if your philosophies are exclusionary for others based on gender, race, or sexuality, you are not REALLY a part of the fandom. You're just a hanger on causing problems. You're NOT a furry.
Yes, it invokes the paradox of tolerance. 'Well, how can you be tolerant of X but not me, just because I don't like them? Isn't that intolerant of you?' No it is not intolerant. Furry was founded on the idea that we all have a shared interest and we are all welcome, but the moment you yourself exclude someone, you've shown yourself the door. You violated the core of the furry fandom.
You made yourself NOT a furry. So excluding you doesn't violate our being furries. It doesn't make us hypocrites. You make the choice on who you hate, or despise, or revile, and you are not a part of US.
If you are racists, sexists, homophobes, or in general hateful assholes, you were never a furry. If you espouse rhetoric at cons that dehumanizes someone, you were never a furry. If you hurt others to gain validation, you were never a furry.
Furries KNOW this. We understand this. We are a community AND a family. Our furry brothers, sisters, non-genders, and what-evers are ALL important to us.
And while I understand, not everyone understands what is going on, why it is happening, or what the details are... If you are a furry, ask yourself this following questions.
If my best furry friend was attacked by a cop, would I be angry or upset, or afraid?
If my furry mate was attacked for their gender, or sexuality, would I be upset, angry, or afraid?
If I saw someone attack someone I care about because of the color of their skin, would I react, be angry, upset, or afraid?
If the answer to any of those questions is yes, ANY of those questions, then you support Black Lives Matters. (Even if you didn't realize it.) Because to do otherwise wouldn't really be very Furry.
Our community thrives on it's diversity. It's cultural mixes, it's gender fluidity. You cannot call yourself part of the family and yet ignore part of the family.
We are One.

A personal creative exercise
General | Posted 8 years agoSo, as the holidays approach I find myself as having finished several projects and wanting to get back into some art projects but sort of lack the direction I want, so I've decided to try a little experiment to see if it helps. I'm going to let folks who follow my journals help me decide.
Here's how it works. You make a reply and post which one of the following you want. You get to make one request per post. You Can make multiple requests, however I ask that you only make one a day. I ask this since I am planning to do this in the order they appear, so by only posting a single request a day, others get a chance to see their requests in a more timely manner.
The purpose of this is a creative exercise to get me doing things I'd normally look at and probably say I'll do it later. This journal info can be passed onto others you know are interested, and there is no set time limit on this. The requests are being kept general for a reason.
Here is the list of the three specific creative projects you can request from:
1: A story: These are specifically stories like I tell in my comedy show, but will be put down in written form for the first time. Example: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/17349924/ and http://www.furaffinity.net/view/17419657/ If you have a particular story you want to hear, you may add that to the request.
2. A drawing in my Furry style. Examples: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/10844940/ and http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5411468/ If you choose this selection you can also choose a single specific species. Or you may choose a single fan character that I have done in the past.
3. A drawing in my realistic style. Examples: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/20635032/ and http://www.furaffinity.net/view/24489299/ If you choose this, you may also choose a single specific species of animal to be drawn.
I'll update to the reply posts with the image or story when it is finished and posted. Hopefully this will get me out of the holiday funk and get me motivated to do some creative endeavors. A cut-off date or changes to this journal may occur depending on how things progress.
Anyway, thanks for reading this and thanks for your help on this little exercise.

Follow Up, Post MFM and Post Harvey
General | Posted 8 years agoUpdate Time: I am home. MFM was an amazing weekend. Mephit FurMeet has always been a fun con, but this year it has been even more so. Leaving Houston to go, not knowing I would even be able to go until the day we left because roads were still closed, getting there in a state of fatigue and exhaustion and for the first time ever...
Leaving the convention MORE relaxed and energized than when I had arrived. The con was the first time in weeks I was able to sleep more than four hours a night. I was busy and so much was there to be done.
Despite snags and memory issues, and fatigue the Wielder Moment's show went over well. The Puppet Take Over Show was a blast and the new puppet panels drew in some much needed attention. Hanging out with Fox and Pepper at the Puppet show was a BLAST! Having Goliath messing up my script for the show was fun too! Husky in Denial performing a live song was fantastic!
Even when the stage failed and fell apart part way through a song, it was still a lot of fun!
Managed to get a new version of Red Dragon Inn for Game Night. Parade was fun. Dances were a blast, the concerts were amazing, Husky in Denial, Cosmik and Rhubarb Ruin Everything, and Fox and Pepper's concert... even with Pandamom dancing before my eyes....
Lots of video footage for next year's promo videos.
This year's Mephit fur meet can be summed up as an exercise in adaptation. Stuff went wrong or got difficult or forgotten, and you had to adapt and change.
Getting home was an ordeal because of the drive and the lack of a desire to leave such a fun con. But I am home. Minor repairs and cleanups need to be done. Have a friend staying with us off and on. He got two feet of water in his home and is dealing so he is staying with us and using our car to get around. That's as good a deed as any these days.
Keeping an eye on the neighbors to make sure everyone is ok. Lots of people dealing with aftermath. Complicated by upcoming Irma. Have friends in Florida and will wish them the best. It is looking to be one hell of a year with hurricanes. So be safe everyone.
I will likely be absent online for the next week. Recovery from the con, recovery from Harvey, helping friends and work. So I may get quiet online. But I am fine. I am doing pretty good all things considered.
Take care of yourselves. I love my wonderful extended family. So be safe.

An update on the wolf... from Houston...
General | Posted 8 years agoI live in the south side of Houston. Likely I won't be on much as power is off and on depending on storms.
I'm alive, well, with my family and in a home that while close to the bay in distance is actually in a very high and relatively safe place. Streets flood but also drain quickly.
My anxiety issues are a problem, but the rum has come in handy... but it's gone now. That's why there is vodka. :)
Seriously, I know lots of people are worried about me. My phone has been blowing up with concerned texts and I understand. I'm doing well. I had to come to terms with the fact that this year will likely be my first missed MFM in close to 20 years. But I'm lucky. Some of my friends are not so. I cannot promise I will be in touch regular...
But for now, I'm safe and have taken precautions. Everyone, no matter where you are... stay safe and if you are in the storm zones or path be careful, take your time if you have to be out ... you know... the usual comments.
Shouldn't try to be so serious when I am boozed... I just want to make bad jokes. Think I need a new badge though... of my character on a box floating in the water, rowing the MFM...
Maybe the booze will help me relax enough to sleep. Haven't slept well in days... Been painting eggs again...
Anyway, summary: Alive, well, family is safe, plenty of food and water, still have power, and dry.
Love you all.

Upcoming Events:
General | Posted 8 years agoSo it's time to start preparing!
With the addition of a new con to my regular run this year, And the fact that I've agreed to be staff for two cons means I've heaped a lot on my plate this year.
I am going to even try my hand at filming promo videos for the conventions. On top of that, I've Got to arrange some material for the shows.
So first things first: signal Boosting for MFM's Masquerade
http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/8266319/
Then my own plugging:
Are you interested in performing in the Puppet Take Over Show at MFM and/or Fangcon? Are you a fursuiter? Puppeteer? Or just REALLY Bored and plan to be at one or more of those conventions? Let me know... I have work for you. It can be fun and rewarding.
Every year at MFM and Now at Fangcon, I've always pushed myself to provide for the convention more than I took away. And that has led me to expand and do more and more each year. Wielder's Moments, Assorted Panels, the Puppet Take over Show, and Hugs for Charity Banner Brigade. Each year I try to add a bit more without melting down and imploding. I've reached a point where the best part comes not from what I do, but what I help OTHERS do.
So Seriously, Are you going to one or both of these conventions? Are you looking for something to help make a mark on the fandom? Do you need ideas or have some and need a little help getting them rolling? Are you willing to put in the hours of work required? If yes to all of that, I can help and I'd be delighted to. The thing about smaller conventions like Mephit Fur Meet and Fangcon, is they are what you as an attendee make of them.
Help us make each of these better than ever.

Post Con Exhaustion:
General | Posted 8 years agoSo back at last and getting settled post Furry Fiesta.
I was able to do some serious photo-shoots at the con. I had a total fan-cub moment by being able to get a pic with a pair of cos-players who had magnificent Swat Kats suits. I got new badges, got some artwork, made some fun purchases, and overall had a great time.
Now I'm in post con clean up mode. Looking forward to seeing the many videos that were made and not looking forward to work.
This isn't an in depth post at this time. Because... well I still have a lot to do. But I hope to be getting back into some older projects and maybe revitalizing my art soon.

Upcoming...
General | Posted 9 years agoSo as this month draws to a close, going to finally post this on my FA, which I don't normally use for details like this, but probably should.
I am going to Fangcon this year! It's set in Birmingham Alabama this year, 27th to the 31st. I am also the Guest of Honor this year! Well, one of them.
I am going to be doing my usual Wielder's Moments show, but will also be doing the Puppet Take Over Show. And so I really excited to be going and am trying to get a lot of stuff done. I'll be bringing drawings and gift baskets for the charity auction, for Tiger Haven. I actually enjoy the fact that the charity is one I am familiar with. Makes things a lot easier. Also dredging up a pair of baby quilts to raffle off.
Typing up the scripts for the shows and getting details lined up. Got friends to drive with and room with.
Now if you are planning to go to Fangcon, keep this in mind almost all the rooms are gone and prereg ends in a couple weeks. so if you are planning to get a jump on that, now is the time. And hey, if you are going, let me know. Would like to know who all is going.

Saw a movie... TMNT 2 and... wow.
General | Posted 9 years agoSo let's start, yes, I'm coming to this a little late, as the movie has been out some time, but I've actually been able to go spoiler free. But there are a few things that almost demand addressing at this point...
Ok, first off, spoilers.
Secondly, it's a live action cartoon. Once you get around that it's not so bad. But you do have to take the cartoon quality into mind or it feels weird. Thirdly they did improve some things from the first movie. But the things that stuck with me include them actually making Splinter look like a rat instead of the thing he was in the first movie. He actually had soft fur and whiskers this time. I wanted to snuggle him.
April was actually a bad ass in this one, nice character and well done. Casey was mostly okay, though they screwed up a few points like him being slammed into a car and shrugging it off. Dude your spine just exploded! And his control of hockey sticks and pucks would be beyond pro level if he could do that stuff, why is he a prison guard?
But I am probably rehashing things already addressed, but on a few points, if has already been said... I have to bring it up! Let's begin with I have always been curious about the bromance between Bebop and Rocksteady, but damn they took it to a whole new level. I've always wondered what it would be like to see them together. And the movie Delivered! I mean not like they snuck off to a broom closet together... But in movie as they transformed, or actually right after when they were identifying themselves... they actually pulled their pants forward to check out their junk and the changes made. Stop there? Nope, because then they check out EACH OTHERS packages as well. Leading to Rocksteady saying "Bebop, My Man!" And this stuck with me throughout the movie. It was hard to see them onscreen and NOT think about that. Did it end there? Nope. Towards the end of the movie the pair is locked in a shipping crate right before a grenade goes off. For a moment you are left wondering if they just killed this pair off. Then you hear Rocksteady... "Bebop, My Man!" Okay, maybe it was the revelation they were bomb proof that provoked this response? Maybe. But in an explosion of that nature, their clothes likely were destroyed even if they were not. And when you take into account they learned how tough they were all throughout the movie, AND the ONLY other time he uses this line is when he sees Bebop's pecker... Suddenly the scene takes on a whole new meaning. Did they sit up, clothes seared off and notice each other was naked and comment on their crotches? Or is this that broom closet scene I almost expected form earlier... they are locked in, now potentially naked and with each other...
The worse part is I'm not even trying hard! Damn that left an impression with me.
As did one other odd scene...
All throughout the movie they used some retro music as part of the soundtrack, even slipping in some Vanilla Ice. But then there was an odd scene. Turtles take Casey to their lair where they fail to fill him in on splinter. Casey sees Splinter and freaks out. As the turtles begin screwing with his head about who the rat is... the scene shifts to Splinter's point of view. And this cheesy 80's love song. Why is this odd? Well, for a moment it seemed as if they were implying, especially with all the 80's 90's throwbacks, that Splinter was suddenly having romantic feelings for CASEY JONES! But you could argue Radio!
Until Casey is tricked by the Turtles into attacking Splinter and summarily gets his ass handed to him... but get this... no radio. No music. Wait, what?! Why the random romantic music, and ONLY when Casey Jones entered the shot? What is going on here?!
Personally if they outed Splinter, I'd be impressed as HELL! But Casey? Wow, what a movie.
So, I don't recommend a huge investment, but it's not horrible and it can be very fun at times. But it can also be very annoying at times. The ending was amazing and I really loved it. Could have been improved by one small thing, but that was personal.
Oh, and Shredder... still a disappointment... Where is the bad ass tactician and leader?
Ok, first off, spoilers.

Convention updates:
General | Posted 9 years agoSo time for some updates about my life.
With everything going on I feel the need to voice a few things. I still draw, though I am focusing more on my abstract art and less on my furry work, though I am hoping to turn that around. I have a few big summer projects that are priorities that will happen first. Then we see.
In addition to that is prep for my annual trip to MEphit fur meet. And a new bonus for me, Fangcon. I was asked to be the Guest of honor at Fangcon this year so I am really excited and ramping up the panels and events I will participate in.
So here's a question for those that read my journals. Anyone going to Fangcon, or MFM. If so, which one, and what's your favorite part? What would you like to see? And would you hang out with me if I managed to find some down time?

Progress report
General | Posted 10 years agoSo as of last night, I finished the last of the summer quilts. Some for charity fundraisers, some for gifts and one small one became an unexpected gift for one of my husbands who fell in love with it. But they are all done. This means today, I can start on two small writing projects and hopefully have new stuff posting by the end of the month. summers have always been a slow time for me art and submission wise because of summer trips and projects. But I should hopefully be able to start soon.
I just have to get a few things ready for MFM, panels that I am doing and then Back into art. Assuming work lets up even a little. Been crazy schedules at work for the past few months. May finally be a break in the future.

Coming soon
General | Posted 10 years agoI hope. :)
I've decided after a suggestion to start taking some of my stories and translating them from verbal to written. As a result new posts should start appearing on FA. I was originally going to do them as Journal posts but had some concerns about who could read them as most are of an adult nature. Then it was suggested I post them as story posts. This is a great idea and will be what I will be doing in the future.
so, coming soon, if schedules and projects permit, I'll be doing story posts all starting with the title "Some thoughts on" And then whatever it is I've focused on for that subject. I'm already working on the first one, but it may be another week before it gets posted. But it is being worked on.
The first one will be over College. Mostly because I've had several folks requesting to hear some of my stories, some of whom have never been to one of my shows. So, here it goes...
We'll see if this all works out.
