South Africa Trip expanding
Posted 8 years agoRead below for my volunteering trip with animals in South Africa in May. Now the trip is turning into more, and I'm planning to donate to charities for children. The one I'm looking at is called The Hakuna Matata House for orphan and abandoned babies and kids. So I am planning on collecting old baby supplies for Hakuna Matata and bringing it with me to Africa.
Trip information:
I’ll be going to South Africa in May to work with animals, and I am beyond excited! This trip means so much to me because I get to see and volunteering with new animals. Beyond just exploring a new place and having fun, I chose to go to South Africa because I have always wanted to visit there. My passion for animals made me interested in this program. On this trip I expect to grow, be challenged, and learn so much about myself. But I can’t do it alone! There are many ways you can contribute to my goal, and I’ve outlined them on my personal campaign page. On this page you can pledge your support through thoughts, social media shares, and financial donations.
Some animals I get to work with on the trip:
Lion, Tiger, Leopard, Elephant, Zebra and much more!
Ways to help:
If anyone blogs it would be helpful if you link my fundraiser page. I am also working on fundraiser photos to help spread awareness.
Rewards- I'm trying to get drawings for each level of donors. They're mostly to show my appreciation to donors. The drawings are of the animals I will see on my trip.
$10 Lion Cub Drawing
$15 Leopard Drawing
$25 Zebra Drawing
$30 Tiger Drawing
$35 For all four drawings

Fundraiser for South Africa trip
Posted 9 years agoSo as I said in my last journal in May I am going to South Africa to work with big cats and other animals. Well as we all most likely know money now-a-days can be tight, and while I am working and saving money anyone that wants to help can go to the link below and you can give what you want. I would offer commission but most people aren't interested enough in may drawings for that. I put a link below of the place I'd be at in South Africa and the link if anyone wants to help out.

Trip in 2017
Posted 9 years agoSo I know people like my photos over my drawings so this is good news for you guys. I am going on my very first trip to South Africa in May for three weeks to work with Big Cats. While this internship is mostly with Big Cats I will also see tons of other animals while there. I am really looking for to it, and as normal I will post a species list of things I see along with photos. This feels so far away but I figured I'd give you guys something to look forward too.

Surgery update
Posted 10 years agoI went in this morning for surgery all went fine. I have a sling for a few weeks and soon PT workouts. At the moment no feeling is just coming back to my arm it's been numb all day. I'll still be posting wolf photos and stuff.
Surgery
Posted 10 years agoSept 14 going in to surgery to fix my Labral tear in my shoulder. Should be a easy thing with a few weeks in a sling and keep going with my physical therapy.
Labrum Tear
Posted 10 years agoSo I hurt my shoulder back around New Years, and I was in a sling for a few weeks but it never really got better. So it is finally confirmed that I have a Labrum tear in my left shoulder. I'v been doing physical therapy twice a week which has been helping a little but still have pain in my shoulder and arm, so next step is to figure out is surgery is the next step. So Kamots still might have a wrap on her for awhile.
Ranch Weekend 2015
Posted 10 years agoOkay, so as you guys have most likely noticed I'm posting a lot of pics from my ranch weekend with the Wildlife Society, which is a club at my school and we take this trip once a year. We do small mammal trapping (mice, voles and shrews mostly) and measure them for future data and release them. So here's a list of what happened.
- Small mammal trapping (mostly deer mouse but one vole)
-Tried to catch a raccoon (failed)
-Bottle fed baby goats that were rejected by their mother
-Hold baby goats
-Catch baby goats that got out of pen (not planned but was fun)
-Learned to chop down trees with axe
-Saw Porcupine in a tree
-Saw two Moose
-Saw Great Horned Owl and heard another at night
-Shed hunting (antler searching of deer for those who don't know)
-Saw tons of birds
Saw tons of White Tails
-Drove up a mountain at sunset
-Radio Telem (set out three set of collars and practiced searching for them)
Great times and great memories with new and old friends.
