Update 2 (Possibly yet another new state location!)
Posted 9 years agoYeah, so about 5 months ago I moved to WV from ND to basically do the same thing I've been doing for Amazon (Data Analyst). Now, however, I've been given the opportunity to go completely "Work from Home" and work anywhere in the U.S. that Amazon has Sales Tax (so like, 35 of the 50 states). Since Michigan is one of those states, I've opted to go full work from home and finally, after 6 long years, return to the home state that I've been longing to get back to.
Out of all the states and cities I could choose to go to, I'm a little surprised at my choice as well, but I really do like Michigan and (most) all of my family and friends are back there as well. I won't be moving for a little while, at least not until my lease is up in March/April next year, but I should start looking around at possible cities. I could live anywhere in MI but I'm thinking somewhere in the southern lower region, though mid-Michigan has its perks, too.
Anyway, that's all for now.

Update (New State Location)
Posted 9 years agoJust a quick FYI/Update for anyone that isn't friends with me on Facebook. I am now working/living in West Virginia! That's right, I am now in the Huntington area (or just outside of it) which aside from the beautiful country and mountain scenery, means I am more centrally located to all kinds of things. I'm happy to be closer to my home in Michigan but also to be within striking distance of so many different cities.
I hope everyone else is doing well (let me know how you're doing!)
I'll try to check this more often so feel free to drop me a line or comment or shout or whatever. See ya!

I'm still alive, I swear!
Posted 11 years agoWow, has it been a year since my last update? I've been so caught up in "real life" that I've forgotten about the parts of my life that actually make it fun.
I'm still slummin' around Grand Forks, ND. Got a nice little promotion at work so I've been pretty busy with that new position. It sometimes requires me to come in on my days off to work on/finish projects but that's usually my own choice and whenever I want to, so I like that freedom (and overtime is nice :p). Once I start getting ahead a bit in my bills and such I'm thinking of re-joining the "fray" as it were and going to some cons and such.
I apologize to the local furgroup, I know I haven't really hung out with anyone, I've just either been working or just not able to afford to go out (no excuse for just hanging out I know...). I'm also an extremely shy person so it kind of hinders me until I force myself to socialize lol. I still follow a lot of you (creeper style!) and have been reading/keeping caught up on the goings on with all of you and the group in general.
What else...hmmm...
I'm going back to Michigan in a few weeks for a visit which I look forward to. It sucks only getting to go home and visit 1-2 times a year. I do enjoy driving through the U.P. though and seeing 3 of the Great Lakes in one trip, and there are a ton of cool little towns up there as well.
Anyway, that's it for my update. I'll try to check in more Feel free to reach out to me whenever. I'm usually on mobile yahoo messenger (sandmanaaron2002) if anyone still uses that. Or hell, if you want to text me you can, 810---Three Four Eight---2194. You could call but...I tend not to answer unless I know who it is and even then I prefer texting to talking lol

Hey you
Posted 12 years agoYou're awesome. You hear me? Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Who cares if you're not doing something earth-shattering or traveling the world, as long as you find happiness and joy in what you do, or in something every day, that's all that matters. Just keep in mind that at the end of the day, it's not what others think, it's what you think. You're the only one that matters. Much love to you.

Quick Update
Posted 13 years agoIt's been awhile so I just wanted to dust off the journal here. I have to get up early so I will be brief.
Here's what's new:
Not Much.
Aren't you glad you took the time to read this?
Oh, I did want to thank a few people for their hospitality this evening. There was a local meet of the
redrivervallyfurs that I semi-got-lost-to then ended up going to later in the evening for a bit Nevertheless, I am glad I finally got to meet some new people.
First of all, thanks to

Fade Into You
Posted 13 years agohttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxGrPHt44ds
I want to hold the hand inside you
I want to take a breath that's true
I look to you and I see nothing
I look to you to see the truth
You live your life
You go in shadows
You'll come apart and you'll go black
Some kind of night into your darkness
Colors your eyes with what's not there.
Fade into you
Strange you never knew
Fade into you
I think its strange you never knew
A stranger's light comes on slowly
A stranger's heart without a home
You put your hands into your head
And then it's smiles cover your heart
Fade into you
Strange you never knew
Fade into you
I think its strange you never knew
I think its strange you never knew
Yeah I'm one of those people that post songs as journal entries XD But since I haven't in...gosh I don't know how long, I figure I'm allowed
The reason this particular song came up though was because I just finished watching a movie I haven't watched since I was in middle school (holy crap it was the 90s!). Angus. Naturally I identified with the main character as I'm sure a lot of us do/did. But this song was playing at the apex of the movie and I thought it was beautiful and wanted to share it, since its from the 90s when music was actually still awesome.
Also apologies for those on my FB that have to see this twice.

1. What time did you get up this morning?
Sometime around 9:30am. Had calls to make and a lot of packing to do.

I think Green Lantern in 3D with my folks for my birthday.
4. What is/are your favorite T.V. Shows?

Just clearing out some stuff from people I don't talk to anymore or would just as soon not have cluttering up my messages/notifications/etc. Kinda hate to "unwatch" people but so far FA doesn't have the option of just unsubscribing from their journals but not their artwork.
Or if it does I'm too lazy to look o_O. Not like I use this much anyway but I still like to see the artwork my friends make.
Oh and FYI, I leave next week for N.D. and there are NO furries out there. There are no cons, there are no meets, at least not big ones like here, as far as I can find/tell.
...so you guys need to come out and visit, lol. Not that there's much to do in Grand Forks, but still, even if it's "on your way" to some other destination...lol.
I dunno, just ranting/talking my head off because I'm bored.
So now I'm done.
EDIT: Had this big long spiel on furries but decided to drop it because I didn't know how to word it. Probably for the best anyway.

MY DAY HAS COME BWAHAHAHAHA /Sean Connery
Posted 14 years agoSo, I got a job!!!! As a forecast meteorologist, in NORTH DAKOTA! w00t! I start in two weeks (or less than really).
I'm still in shock, and nervous as crap. It's a big step and a long ways from home (and I'll be gone for the holidays), but the one great thing is that my awesome roommate from last year also works there, so he and I will have each other to hang out with.
Oh man I'm so happy. I'm waiting to say anything on facebook though because I'm friends with some of my profs on there and I want to keep them in the dark until I visit CMU next week.
So, SO LONG MICHIGAN. I love Michigan, but it's a horrible place to find work Or maybe that's just Flint talking. Either way.

Journal has been deleted
Posted 14 years agoI've been seeing these a lot the past several weeks. I assume it's the same person. If you're continuously regretting posting a journal entry, or deleting it for unknown reasons, you should just stop. Seriously. Stop posting. Oi. XD
Submissions I can understand, maybe you uploaded the wrong one or want to tweek it, but come on.

Update
Posted 14 years agoWell pretty much everyone I know on here already knows this from Facebook, but I'll post it anyway.
Recently (and FINALLY) graduated from CMU! It only took 9 years XD Now, though, I am officially a Meteorologist. For nearly 10 years of college though you'd figure I'd have a Ph.D. in the friggen subject. Anyway, hopefully that piece of paper comes in the mail soon. I'll feel more "accomplished" once I have that in hand.
Job hunting began a month ago, still no bites. Didn't really expect there to be any though so soon, so we'll see.
Other than that, I haven't been doing much but relaxing, tending my vegetable garden, working out/dieting and trying to keep myself busy.
I need to find a regular job though in the mean time, preferably full-time, since student loans will be coming in the fall and I need to be saving up now to get a head start on that (plus so I have some spending money). So if anybody knows of any decent jobs out there... XD Not much around here in Flint. Considered going back to -shudders- Security, but again, we'll see.
Well that about sums up my "update". I am out of here.

Posted 14 years agoSo for those of you that have a "Blogger" (ugh) you can follow my new blog I created a few weeks ago here (if you'd like):
http://weatherisfun.blogspot.com/
I mainly created it as something semi-professional that I may one day turn into completely professional (seems a lot of people are doing it these days). *shrugs* Anyway, you don't have to but I'm just putting it out there.
I try to update it at least once a week although life happens so it's sporadic. Much like this blog. Except it's not furry (oh yes, life outside the fandom!), so...yeah

Posted 14 years agoI feel old saying this but youth really is wasted on the young. Just so much drama and emo stuff from the young'ns. I can't really say anything because I went through the same phase in my younger years, but I think something about this fandom amplifies that effect
Well anyway, only a couple of months left before graduation o_O FINALLY. I'm excited but nervous. WHERE WILL I FIND A JOB that sort of thing. I wouldn't feel half as worried if I had a regular min. wage job to fall back on but it's Flint, and I've pretty much already worked at the handful of jobs available around here XD But we'll see.
I'm probably jinxing it but saying it, but I'm looking into Airport weather observing, and my best bet is northern lower michigan since that's the area/national weather service office I worked at over the summer, and they're my best bet to get a foot in the door up there. Perhaps Traverse City Airport? That would be nice...in the summer... XD
Though I think Flint has one at their airport...that would be convenient but unlikely. Ah well. I'll find something to do I'm sure. Hopefully with all my free time in the mean time I can finally get bored enough to start working out more and getting onto a serious diet, but we'll see.

Posted 14 years agoI don't know why but my tired mind keeps reading this as, "West In Peace" XD (West as in "Rest" with a lisp)
That is all.
EDIT: Hey while I'm updating, might as well just mention that I've been using my Christmas break to explore more anime. I'm digging it. Went through a few series and making my way through more.
So far aside from the Miyazaki movies and such that I watched a long time ago, I've watched:
http://www.anime-planet.com/users/S.....deDenkou/anime
because I'm lazy But of particular note are Full Metal Alchemist, FMA Brotherhood, Elfen Lied, and Death Note. I loved all of them a lot. Making my way through Code Geass right now although it's so/so.

Final Day 10
Posted 15 years agoBlah, late but whatever
---
Day One: Ten things you want to say to ten different people right now.
Day Two: Nine things about yourself.
Day Three: Eight ways to win your heart.
Day Four: Seven things that cross your mind a lot.
Day Five: Six things you wish you’d never done.
Day Six: Five people who mean a lot (in no order whatsoever).
Day Seven: Four turn offs.
Day Eight: Three turn ons.
Day Nine: Two smileys that describe your life right now.
Day Ten: One confession.
---
I honestly don't know what to confess here. Everything about me is pretty much already known. Hmmm...
...I dunno. I confess that I just finished watching Elfen Lied (the anime) and cried a bit. Then cried a bit more when I read the manga and it's alternate ending.
Edited since I figured my previous confession was boring, not that this is any better.

Day Seven:
1.) Social Behavioral Problems. If you don't know how to act in public, then no thank you. This goes for people whom one would be ashamed to walk around with in public or be seen with because they don't seem to know how to keep inside thoughts in, or behaviors that should be something done in privacy, where it belongs.
2.) Emotional Problems. We all have our emotional problems. Especially myself I'll admit. And it's ok to vent every so often especially to a good friend. But when every single thing that comes out of someone's mouth (or their posts, or whatever) is a complaint or whine or whatever...issues. One look through my journal entries and one might argue that I am at fault for this very thing. Which leads me to...
3.) Hypocrites. Probably my biggest pet peeve of all time. When a person will complain or talk about something that someone did/believes/said/what have you and then turn around and exhibit the same shortcoming. We're all hypocrites though, and I've been caught in a few hypocritical arguments myself, but I'm usually quick to admit when I'm wrong, simply because to deny it would not only further the hypocrisy but make me look all the more ridiculous.
4.) Superiority/Egotistical Tendencies. People who constantly act like they could do no wrong or that their knowledge on a subject is above reproach. Basically people who are full of themselves, having some undeserving sense of superiority. Don't get me wrong, there's a difference between confidence and ego, but some go a little too far.
Felt more like ranting but eh, those are turn offs for you
+++++++++
Day Eight:
1.) Humor. One of the biggest things I love in another person is their sense of humor. I love being able to joke about stuff and it's always great to find someone who has that same sense of humor that I do.
2.) Compassion/Concern/Empathy. I stated in day three (come to think of it these two days are kinda similar) that I really don't mind listening to other people when they need to vent, but when I need to vent, it's always nice when the person exhibits interest in it as well, or at the very least, something to let me know that they care.
3.) Certain physical characteristics. I'll be a little shallow here, but I'm not saying a perfect 10 is a turn on, but certain physical characteristics in a person definitely can be a turn on. Hair, for instance. I don't know why, but I like certain hair styles, namely long hair. Eyes. Some eyes are just very warm and inviting.
++++++++++
Day Nine:
X_X --> I feel dead tired right now. Stress and everything as of lately in my life has exhausted me.
o_O --> To kind of follow up, uncertainty. Things are all over the place as far as things I have to do/get done, financial stuff, blah blah blah.
whew.

Whoo, this list is definitely in no order and I'm not naming specific names except where I think necessary (to avoid hurt feelings)
1.) My parents. They obviously mean a lot to me and have helped me this past year with my financial problems as well.
2.) My friends. Yes I'm grouping all of my friends into this category. It has been the collective involvement of my friends that have kept me going and given me a lot of great memories. They all mean a lot to me.
3.) Luke aka
BlueDragon407 aka InfinityFire. What list of important people wouldn't be complete without one's first. As such he of course means a lot to me and will always have that "honor" and special place.
4.) Gabe. Through him I've grown a lot as a person and have experienced life in a whole new way. I like to think that because of him I'm a better person (though that can be said of everyone in my life).
5.) Lastly, but not least, Captain Jean-Luc Picard. He sponsored my entrance into the Academy and without him, I never would have gained the experiences and knowledge that have made me the best cadet the Federation has ever seen.
Ok I couldn't think of a 5th one so you get that.
EDIT: Alright, I did think of a 5th one, I lied XD
5.) My friend Alex (ah ha, an individual friend). Without him I could never have made it through my junior year, and he has been making this last year of college a blast.

5.) The past (past mistakes, shoulda/woulda/coulda, etc)
6.) Grades/School
7.) Friends
This is (in no way) in any particular order, just things I think of the most.
Day THREE of this crap
Posted 15 years agoI hadn't realized when I started this how much I didn't really want to do it, but I shall not leave a task unfinished...
---
Day One: Ten things you want to say to ten different people right now.
---
1.) I love to listen, it's what I do and I like making people feel better, but if ever I have any problems, I like to have someone to listen to them as well. Also, there's a difference between "hearing" and "listening".
2.) Hang out with me. Offer to do stuff with me, be interested (or at least act interested).
3.) Respect my opinion or beliefs.
4.) Be up front and honest with me. Very important.
5.) Along the same lines as above, if you're interested, just tell me. I'm not as good at picking up on subtle things as one might think.
Really, it doesn't take much to win me over I'm sure if someone really wanted to they wouldn't have to do or say much other than those things listed above.
