Looking for Custom Sticker Artist
Posted a year agoHeya, hope everyone is having a lovely day!
Thought I'd put out word that I'm interested in getting some custom stickers of Luna for use when texting people on messengers like Telegram. So if you know of any artists who could do that or one yourself please feel free to PM me. Not sure how much such a commission would cost so I'm happy to work out the details and payment with you. There is no hurry or need for them right away, but I figured there was no harm in asking around first. This is just a fun idea since my birthday coming in a couple months and always wanted some custom stickers of Luna for a long time.
Please note me here about it. Thanks for your time and hope to see you around! <3

One Fur's Try
Posted 9 years agoYeah I'm pretty late on the No Man's Sky bandwagon but I finally got a rental copy. Despite all that's been said about the game I still wanted to give a shot for the hell of it.
Anyway I was wondering if anyone would be interested in watching me stream playing it for a few hours? If so what time would be the best?
If there is enough people interested in seeing it then I'll make another journal with a date and time. Thanks!

They went and did it....
Posted 10 years agoEDIT: Apparently Valve has already taken down the program and are going to issue refunds. Good on them for that at least, but doesn't change the fact they they still tried to do it.
Hopefully if they do bring it back it will be a tip jar system so people can still back mods that are worth a shit while not rewarding the talentless mosquitoes swarming for their share of blood.
Valve is now allowing for mods to be sold on Steam, which of course they and publishers will take a cut of...
Me:
Oh for fucks sake~! v.v
Here we go again, opening the floodgates for the bloody locusts to flood the workshop with their paid garbage. And of course neither Valve or the publishers will lift a finger or take some responsibility for this. Why would they when they will be racking in even more cash.
If in the next year or two Valve announces a subscription fee for Steam I would not be surprised at this point. And if they do...well, it was fun while it lasted, so long then.
Jim Sterling did an episode about it here:

Chinese Dentist Time....
Posted 10 years agoYeah bad joke but I'm definitely going to be Tooth Hurty tomorrow...I'm scheduled for a root canal (at least one maybe more) as a follow up to the last procedure, which basically just prepped the teeth and fitted them with temporary fakes/fillings. Last time they numbed the area enough I couldn't feel much which was nice but they don't have anything to knock you out. Hope either they will have some for root canals or at least can numb me enough to not feel anything. Wish me luck everyone....
Wish me luck.....
Posted 10 years agoToday is my dentist appointment, at 4pm est, they are going to work on my four front top teeth. They are going to be capped/crowned. Gave them my dental insurance info but not sure what if anything it will cover yet. As is it will cost almost three grand for the whole procedure. Will have to pay for it with credit. Im out with marbles right now, getting some food before visit, trying my best to stay calm.

Twitch Streaming Tonight!
Posted 10 years agoMy roommate Marbles was going to stream The Order tonight but stuff happened so bunny is taking the night off. So rather than let the rental go to waste I'll play it tonight and stream it on my channel instead. You can find the link below to my twitch channel and take a look. I'll probably start around 8pm EST to give myself time to get everything setup and settled in to play. Hope to see you there!

Quick Update
Posted 11 years agoHey everyone just wanted to give a quick update to let you all know that I'm still alive. We have the wood stove running again and it's been better than ever thanks to the new hose and some corrected settings. The living room and dining room can get up to 70 degrees now though the rest of the house doesn't get that high, usually around the mid 60'ss at best. At least we don't have to worry about the pipes freezing up and bursting, plus we have enough fuel to last till Spring at least. Still haven't got the oil stove working but that will probably require a professional to clean and fix (since neither of us know enough about them to do it ourselves) but that will have to wait seeing as we are both scraping by right now. Marbs has been streaming a lot to get money for food money and I've been trying to stretch what cash I have by eating at home a lot more with what little we have in the pantry. A bunch of big bills are piling up on me at once so it's raman noodles and fast food value menus for me this month.
As much as I enjoy talking with friends online, lately I've just been feeling depressed and not really in the mood to chat much. Aside from dealing with a backlog of chores and making sure those bills get paid (especially the dental insurance) most of my time has been spent playing console and handheld games to take my mind off things. No Warcraft this month, cancelled the subscription to save the money, not that I mind taking a break since dealing with piss poor raid drops was starting to get on my nerves anyway.
Since we finally decided to bite the bullet and buy and Xbone last month (for review purposes only I swear) I've been playing through all the main Halo games with the MC Collection. While I still think the Xbone itself sucks (the interface is really annoying and poorly implemented, and don't get me started the Halo Channel app, dear god that is horrible!) the games are decent enough and the controller does feel nice. The Halo games are still quite good if slightly dated in some respects. The biggest complaint I have (aside from the game freezing up sometimes and the Halo app just not working usually) is that the visuals are so very inconsistent. While it is good to see Halo 2 get a visual update it makes playing through the entire series slightly jarring from a visual perspective. You start with Halo 1 that got remastered in 2011 with the anniversary edition, then you have Halo 2 with the latest models and such at the tail end of 2014, jump to Halo 3 which came out in 2007, and then finally Halo 4 which still looks good but came out in 2012. Lots of people would have probably complained if they hadn't done this but honestly I would have liked if they had just redone all four games with their most recent visuals so it would look more cohesive. That would have been a lot of work I'm sure, perhaps too much to be worth it. but I just couldn't help finding the weird fluctuation of quality/fidelity to really stand out playing them all in a row. They are still great games and worth playing even after all these years so that minor gripe aside is no reason not to get the collection if you already happen to own an Xbone.
Anyway that's all for now, just thought I'd let you all know I haven't turned into a wuff-cicle or something ^w^

Just keeps getting better... *sarcasm*
Posted 11 years agoJust so stressed out right now I need to vent so please forgive if I start to ramble and swear. Our wood pellet heater has been acting up, turning off suddenly in the middle of being used. Like we will leave it running during the night and wake up to the stove cold and the hopper still filled with pellets. Well last night I called the manufacturers tech support and they suggested two things: checking the setting on the controls and the tube on the vacuum sensor. Checking the settings was an easy fix however opening up the back and looking inside revealed a huge problem. Apparently the previous owners had tried to fix the tube by wrapping the fucker up in tinfoil, upon removing that I found the one end charred and frayed along with a small cut/crack about halfway along the tube, which was more than likely letting air out and tripping the sensor to shut the stove down. Pulled that sucker out and looked at the manufacturers website to see how much a replacement would be.... they want $12.07 for five feet of hose (which I'll have to cut to fit) and another $12-13 dollars for shipping! They want $25 for a fucking hose (and some small clamps whooppee-doo) well FUCK THAT!
So all day we drove around to various stores looking for a similar replacement tube, easy right? Tractor Supply Co didn't have anything but they pointed us to a place down the street that would. The guy at Aubuchon hardware got us a couple different sizes to try and it was pretty cheap. They weren't an exact size match but I could get one of them to fit. We even went all the way out to the nearest Home Depot (about 20 miles there and back) but they didn't have anything useful. After all that we finally get back home and after some struggling a bit to get one in place securely I give it a thorough cleaning (well as best I can manage) and start it up. While letting it warm up we make a quick run out to Walmart for some food and to get out of the house again. After about 30 min we come back to find the stove off again. Taking the back panel off again I glance back and instantly see the problem....the hose has literally melted in half! Luckily it was easy to get the remains of the tube off but it was clearly fucked. Apparently the pvc tube we got was not rated for high temps which it would be subjected to. Going back to another home depot (as the other stores were closed by then) they tell us that yeah it's not made for that kind of temps and that they don't have anything better. Well.....shit!
So plan B: buy some diesel fuel from the gas station across the street and use it to run our gas heater for the night. We had done it the night before which helped though it burned through the fuel fast. After buying two more tanks of gas (approx 5 gals) and pouring it into the fuel tank I head to the basement and go to fire it up....nothing. Okay that happened last night too, we haven't been using it in a while and the tank is pretty much empty so it will just take a few tries to get it running just like before. Two hours later and over a dozen tries, nothing....it won't start up no matter what I do. We put in even more fuel than last time so that shouldn't be the problem, I haven't fiddled with any settings on the thing, etc. The thing might need some cleaning out but again it ran just fine last night and for only a short time. Plan B: failure...
There is a fireplace in the spare room next to the kitchen but it barely heats the one room let alone the rest of the house. We could try running one of out space heaters downstairs in the living/dining room but they draw a lot of power and might trip a breaker if we try running too much at once. The wiring in this house is terrible too.
Honestly I'm nearing the breaking point here, so many times I've come close to breaking down crying at home and in public. I finally just did that, sitting down in front of the fireplace and cried. No matter what I do it is just one failure after another. This house was a ripoff, the area sucks for shopping and food, and the whole state is so much more expensive than I thought. We just can't seem to catch a break here.
*UPDATE* One hardware store happened to have exactly the hose we needed, the part itself was more expensive than direct from the manufacturer but cheaper without the added shipping costs and no wait for it to get here. Got it installed and the control settings adjusted where they should be and now its working great! The livingroom is over sixty now which feels so much better, plus it seems to be working more efficiently now too. We are still seriously considering finding a new place to live in the future (I had been trying to look the other way but this winter pushed me over the edge) but at least now we can survive through the winter. Thanks for all your support, it really helps! <3

Sweets not so sweet
Posted 11 years agoAs some may have heard from one of
marbles streams/journals, recently I broke my front left incisor on some homemade chocolates over the weekend. It's unsightly but at least it didn't hurt much. We managed to get an emergency dental appointment today and have them look at it. It was out of town, about an hour drive away, but they came highly recommended and professional. They took a look and did some x-rays, and yeah...it's not going to be a cheap or quick fix. For a long time I had been putting off going to the dentists (no insurance, low income, just not fun going) combined with poor eating habits (lots of junk food and soda) and less than adequate brushing which means my teeth need a lot of TLC. Won't go into exact details for your sake and mine, but needless to say this is going to hurt, both me personally and my pocketbook. Fortunately I should have dental insurance next year (had to happen a few days before the new year, just my luck huh) and they offer a financing plan so I can pay back overtime. Considering it's going to cost over two grand...yeah I'm hurting.
I'd feel bad asking for money but any kind words or support would be appreciated. This is going to be a rough year and it hasn't even started yet....
Thanks to all those who have wished me luck, I'm going to need it :/

File under D for Disappointment
Posted 11 years agoSo yeah there has been a lot of discussion about Destiny since it came out and I've been meaning to toss out my two cents for a while now. I was going to write a full review, and still might, but for now I'd just give a brief summary of my feelings after spending 30+ hours with it. Okay I'm not going to mince words...Destiny is a big disappointment. Sure it may seem interesting at a glance and offer some fun at first, but the longer you spend with the game the more it unravels like a cheap sweater.
It looks amazing on the PS4, the core combat is solid and fun, and the various powers help spice up pvp matches. Sadly it's pretty much downhill from there. For starters the story is an absolute joke, what little there is I mean. Combat is fun but gets repetitive very quickly for reaons I'll get to in a moment. Basically the enemies feel very similar with little variety, only posing a real threat in large numbers or on highest difficulties when they get shields and deal ludicrous damage. Back to what I said about repetition, the second biggest problem with Destiny is the lack of content. You can easily compete all the story missions and reach level 20 in a few days. After that....well then you reach the number one problem with Destiny: the endgame. See you CAN progress beyond level 20 by getting better gear that has "light" attribute, the more light the higher your level. This is when you face something more evil and terrifying than any vague Darkness...you must fight the Random Number Generator. If you want better gear then be prepared to grind more than a Korean MMO based in a coffee house (see what I did there? ....yeah sorry) doing the same 5-6 strike missions (aka dungeons), grinding for reputation and currency for various factions, or grinding the same 4-5 PVP match types. No matter what you choose your rewards are based purely on the luck of the draw. Carried the whole team in a PVP match and got the highest score? Too bad you get nothing while the dude who did nothing the entire match gets an exotic weapon. Played for hours and finally got a couple legendary engrams to drop? Too bad, they got turned into worthless blues or even greens...or worse you got a legendary item buuuut it's for hunters only and you're a warlock. Oh and by the way, you can't trade it with a friend or anyone at all for that matter.
The more I played the more obvious the lack of polish really stood out. There is no trading items or auction house, the tower which serves as a hub between missions feels lifeless due to lack of social options or anything to do besides turn in bounties and decode engrams, there is no matchmaking or LFG tools for high level strikes and raids, it's awkward forming groups and to talk with team members, etc. The game as a whole just has that feeling about it, that awkward feeling that something is missing...that somewhere along the way something bad happened behind the scenes. Maybe the team fell apart or the vision became lost, maybe the higher ups butted in and torn the game apart for DLC later on....whatever it was we may never know for sure. Regardless of who or what is to blame, what we got is not worth all that time and money they dumped into it. Sure many of these complaints may be addressed through patches and DLC later on, but these are problems that should have been fixed before release. This isn't an indie budget game, this is a $500 million dollar game by a high profile developer that we expect better from.
As of this writing I've already traded Destiny back in to Best Buy. Since I got a voucher for the first two (of ten planned!) DLC's with my copy so I may either rent it just to try the new content, or maybe I'll buy it again if it's on sale for $20 or less. Either way I'm pretty much done with Destiny for now. Wanted to love this game so much but I just can't...*sigh*

Calling any Guardians! *Edited*
Posted 11 years agoHey everyone, been playing a lot of Destiny and could use a hand with an exotic weapon bounty. It's a level 26 strike and full of really tough enemies that I REALLY don't want to try taking on alone. Basically it is a more difficult version of the summoning pits strike (for those who know what that is) and I need to get to the final boss BUT not kill it right away, instead killing mobs until a special monster spawns and kill that first. One big problem with Destiny is that they don't have matchmaking for missions like this and there is no way to LFG in game. There is no chat board like in most MMO's so I have to scrounge up people on my own though other means...it's pretty dumb.
Anyway If there are any Destiny players who could lend a hand I'd appreciate it greatly. Thanks!
EDIT: Oh forgot to mention I'm playing the PS4 version and my name on there is capthavic.

Still alive...I think
Posted 11 years agoHey all, just wanted to give a quick update that I'm still alive...though certainly was out of commission for a bit. Basically on Monday night we went out to Best Buy for the midnight launch of Destiny. On the way there we stopped to eat at Five Guys and my burger wasn't fully cooked all the way through. About 10-15 minutes after we ate we walked through the doors of walmart (to pass the time there) and I doubled over in pain,it felt like someone was jabbing a knife into my gut. It was so bad it felt like I was going to vomit and shit my intestines out from both ends at the same time. Spent a good 15-20 minutes shitting in a stall, the smell was so bad a woman in the ladies room next door could smell it. Marbles bought me some ginger ale and meds to help me feel better but even then I was still feeling miserable. Once we got home I installed destiny and made sure it was working before crashing early. Spent the next day resting and playing a bit of Destiny once I was feeling up to it. Still taking it easy but thankfully I'm just about back to normal. Still that was not at all fun, not sure I'll be eating at Five Guys again anytime soon v.v
Oh and Destiny is awesome! :P

It's dead, Jim....
Posted 11 years agoWelp it finally happened, my desktop pc is now well and truly....dead. No matter what I try it refuses to boot up at all, either endlessly powering cycling or the power says on but nothing happens. Nothing shows up on screen, keyboard and mouse do nothing....the lights are on but no one is home. A friend helped look it over checking connections and dust it off for ass all results. Best we can tell the drives are working still so it may be something wrong with the motherboard or cpu. Those two are the oldest parts in my system and its getting on ten years old so I suppose it was only a matter of time.
Luckily I still have a laptop for backup so I won't be completely offline. However it does mean that pretty much all of my pc games are unplayable now. Might be able to get a few small games to work but that's probably it. Been working on building a new desktop PC but I'm still missing a few important parts. They aren't cheap parts either (CPU and motherboard and RAM) and I have no idea how long it will take to get the money for them. So for the foreseeable future I'm without my primary computer and games v.v
Guess I'll just have to find some way to scrape together the cash to finish the replacement and manage without playing any PC games for now. Just wanted to give a heads up in case anyone wanted to contact me, I can still receive emails and chat but that's about it for now.

LOOK IT'S GODZILLA....!
Posted 11 years ago...quick, cut to the ineffectual human characters instead! *facepalm*
So yeah got back a little bit ago from the movies with
marbles to see the new Godzilla movie, and while I did enjoy the movie overall that first line sums up my biggest issue with it. There are so many times when the monsters are finally going to fight that they cut away after the first punch (so to speak) to show whats going on with the humans who, lets be frank, are helpless on lookers who accomplish pretty much nothing and can only look on. Most of the screen time is spent following the main soldier character try to get back home but, predictably, finds himself smack dab in the middle of the action constantly and doesn't really do anything till the very end. His wife and son are of course at ground zero but they are very flat and while they did have some chemistry I didn't feel any connection to them either. If I were to estimate 50% of screen time goes to the humans, 30-40% just the MUTO's (the bad monsters) causing havoc, and the remaining time left for Godzilla to finally do his thing.
Getting to see the monsters rampage is very good and when they finally (that we get to see) square off against Godzilla it is fantastic...sadly there is too little of that and over far too soon. When its good its vey good, but the rest of the time its just meh.
There are a few other plot holes and nitpicks i can make, such as they call Godzilla an apex predator and that he is hunting the the other monsters yet we never see him try to eat them. Or when its established the MUTO cause EMPs why none of the military's equipment seems to be shielded or if so state that the EMP is just that powerful. Or how no one noticed the female MUTO (which is larger than the male one from Japan) growing and bursting out from a mountain repository for nuclear waste until it was well on its way toward Las Vegas. There are more but you get the idea.
The speical effects, the cinematography, the action, and to a lesser extent the acting were good....just too much focus was on the humans story rather than Godzilla for my taste. As i told Marbles on the way home, you don't go to a steak house for the salads. I expected a lot more Godzilla in my Godzilla movie and that was what kept this movie from being something amazing instead of just okay in my book.
