Life Update
Posted 2 years agoI don't post on here as often as I'd like. Actually I went back to school last year and I'm close to graduating with a maintenance degree. Really its something to pay the bills while I pursue artistic endeavors in my free time. With things wrapping up though, I'm looking forward to posting more. I actually have a lot of things I've been working on in the in-between that I'm very proud of. Can't wait to post them. ^.^
Artist's Statement
Posted 4 years agoThis journal is my artist's statement, a short document detailing who I am and what my art is about.
All my life, I've been at the bottom of social hierarchies, in schools, family, friend groups, and other social organizations. This has been exacerbated by factors including my sexuality, my quiet nature, and my neuro-atypicality. Because of this, I have felt discarded and isolated by others. But growing up, I found comfort in exploring the strangeness of the furry fandom, BDSM communities, and Sci-Fi Fantasy fans, all groups on the fringes of the hierarchy.
I have sought solace in the fantasy of the animal, the animal who wears latex and leather with metal piercings. These creatures are the ultimate expression of my desire to break out of the rigid system in which I have been placed. With digital paint, I replicate the unusual beauty of creatures in dynamic outfits, inappropriate fetish gear, and body modifications, all of which would be considered in poor taste. Regarding animals, they not only defy the human hierarchy, but transcend it. Those that sit at the top of the social pyramid can still fall prey to the unbiased jaws of a mountain lion or the kick of a horse's hoof.
BDSM explores a fluid form of power dynamics in which a submissive can be the dominant one day and reverse back the next. In its purest form, this is power exchanged through love, consent, and trust. My art explores creatures in submission, how obedience can foster pride, and how it can allow me to experience the power behind a dominant role. All of this gives me the opportunity to explore these positions in a space free of the anxiety of having a partner.
Beasts clad in plate armor or enhanced with cybernetic implants have provided me with an escape and an opportunity to explore other facets of both real and unreal societies. Through art and writing, I have created my own fantastical hierarchies, which I used to understand the social systems in which I live. With science fiction, I reflect objectification in modern society through through animal/human androids, q fantastical lower class treated as things to be acted on. And through fantasy, heroes exempt from being or acting human, free to follow their desires.
All of this is explored through my erotic art, which I call "Post-Yiff", a tongue in cheek term I use to describe pornagraphic or semipornagraphic art that I use to explore my psyche. As well as titillate! I find that people draw an uncomfortable line between art and pornography, which restricts both the artist and the viewer. Instead I want to show that furry isn't just a fandom, but an art movement.
My art has brought me comfort and it has allowed me to come into contact with other who do not fit into the greater social structure. These fellow outsiders have enriched my artistic process, and I encourage any fellow furry, fetishist, provocateur, fantasy fan, or artist to feel free to be in contact.

Posted 7 years agoSo I was on my page today and I noticed something very cool. I have a little over two hundred favorites across all my submissions! I know it's a really small number compared to a lot of other people, but it means a lot to know so many people think my stuff is pretty okay! So thank you <3
