is it so weird that
Posted 10 years agoI want to live in a house full of people and have like a cuddle pit to
sleep in at night where everyone just snuggles up together 'n shit? ; ^;
like.. lovers/friends/whatever, just everyone being cool and just floppin down and sleeping together in a cuddle pile.
this is quite literally sort of my dream household lmao.
this might just be because of my anxiety / separation anxiety and the
fact that I crave attention and friendship because I don't get a lot.

Helpful Art Resources
Posted 10 years agoThere's a thread over on FA's forums talking about helpful art websites, and I thought I'd just share my post from it in case you guys were curious about resources that I find helpful / recommend! I specifically mentioned sites that weren't already mentioned in the thread, so this is definitely not every art resource I know/use. Adding any of your recommendations would be awesome, too!

Randomized Generators for just about everything - http://www.springhole.net/writing_r.....ors/index.html

Fractal-like drawing thing - http://weavesilk.com/
I consider this pretty artistic. Sometimes it can really give you some interesting ideas with the semi-random shapes it makes.

voice acting stuff
Posted 10 years agoSo yeah.. I'm thinking of trying to pick up voice stuff again.
Here's me talking about my voice: https://soundcloud.com/prismacat/voices
singing milkshake in a non-desu voice https://soundcloud.com/prismacat/milkshake
But yeah, I really want to pick up voice acting little silly things.
So if you have things you want me to say, or scenes from
shows/comics/manga, poems, songs, whatever! Sling them my way!
I really honestly love the sound of my own voice, so I get a big
confidence boost and gratification out of stuff like this honestly. ;w;

Posted 10 years agoI'm sure my avatar hasn't updated everywhere yet buuuuutttttt...

it'll update at some point. maybe. probably not before the day's over.
either way it's my new icon and I'll be submitting the bigger version
later probably after my nap. too lazy to do it right now. =n=
unfortunately due to the brush for the lines I used it doesn't look particularly -good- everywhere either. good thing it's just a one day icon, lmao.

WHAT DO WE SAY TO DEATH
Posted 10 years agonot today
Seriously though. I was cleaning last night and accidentally spilled water on/into my boyfriend's PC.
As expected, he totally FLIPPED, ripped everything out of the wall and bridal carried the tower outside like it was his child. (technically..)
After spending all night feeling guilty as hell and being reassured that he knew I didn't mean it and that everything is okay he put
his PC back together this morning and whatever deity there is above saw fit to forgive me and the machine is COMPLETELY OKAY.
holy fucking shit, I am SO relieved.

I'm streaming!! c:
Posted 10 years agoCommissions open soon! also may start streaming!
Posted 10 years agoOkay, so I'm out of school for Spring semester and I plan to work on commissions and stuff on more of a regular basis.
I have three commissions that I owe right now that I will be knocking out by the end of next week.
One piece I already have mostly sketched, the second I have the pose lined up, and the third I have an idea
in mind for what I want to do (it'll be a more elaborate piece and give me a chance to work with backgrounds)
So I'm wondering A.) What sort of commissions do you want to see from me?
I plan to offer the standard fair such as icons, chibi, headshots, busts, waist/thigh-ups, and full-bodies. Things like badges and reference sheets would probably on a case-by-case basis.
And the options will be sketch, colored sketch, lined, flats, and (tentatively) shaded.
I'm not very confident in my shading skills, and it's something I plan to experiment with more this summer.
How would you price the following pieces:
Sketch: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u...../udtaentry.png
Colored Sketch: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u.....uff/toucan.png
Lineart: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u.....harpslines.png nsfw
Flats: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u.....Stuff/udta.png
I'm honestly probably going to make Lineart and Colored Sketches the same price..
And I don't think I want to go below $20-$25 for flats..
___________________________________________________
Also, streaming!
I want to try to stream a bit more often.. maybe often enough to warrant getting premium on picarto or something. I have a lot more fun streaming on Picarto than I ever did on any other streaming site. OBS works flawlessly with it and I have no lagging issues or anything like I used to have with Livestream.
As far as time goes, it could really be ANY time right now. Although I'm probably going to soon be mostly working on commission work in the mornings, and more personal, request, or stream-specific work in the afternoons/evenings, if I work at all during the evenings.
I'm hoping that I'll be able to make some pocket change here and there from commissions, and I'd like to offer things like in-stream commissions and stuff.
I would definitely love to talk to you guys while I'm on mic and everything,
and maybe have netflix streaming in the corner, or just playing music 'n stuff.
I want it to be a fun and casual atmosphere where anyone can do whatever and just not
have to care for a few minutes or hours of their day and just chill out and joke around.

shading tutorials & ych suggestions
Posted 10 years agoI.. really need to work on shading. :c
I know some tutorials and I have some, but I just wanted to see what you guys recommend too.
It's like.. I know HOW to shade but I'm not very good at it?
this is what my soft-shading looks like: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/16247402/ and https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u.....d/banette2.png
i personally don't really like the look of cell-shading, but that's probably just because it feels weird when I do it lmao
I think I honestly just need to have more experience with it so I can handle it better.
I also just need to really work on hair, that's my weakest point I think.
So link me some shading tutorials (or any other cool tutorials are welcome too).
I'd love to open up some like cheap experimental commissions at some point or something idk. Maybe just freebies.
---
speaking of freebies!
I want to do one (or some) free YCHs to celebrate getting close to 500 watchers,
as well as to celebrate the end of the semester and how awesome all of you guys are.
but.. I want to know what you guys would like to see theme-wise?
SFW? NSFW? Summer stuff? Tentacle stuff? Couple poses? Maybe even post links to poses/ideas you like!
also i've been making a shit-ton of journals lately, i'm sorry. I have no clue what's come over me,
but I know there are a lot of cool people who might have really cool opinions who watch me. ;w;

t-shirt / button / gear design ideas & websites?
Posted 10 years agoI'm thinking of trying to do some things to sell on t-shirts and buttons and stuff of that sort.
But I'm not exactly sure what website to use, firstly.
and secondly I have no clue what you guys would like to see, and what sort of prices you'd be willing to pay.
I know on some websites there are specific standard prices, but I really just don't know what I should do.
and I'm totally willing to check out any websites you throw my way!
I'd also like to get some fandoms and recommendations for what sort of stuff YOU would like to have on gear. c:

Taking Offers / Trading Characters

http://sta.sh/21iodr19fxqu
These are ALL of my beautiful characters (unless I've forgotten them in the dredges of my dropbox).
I'm entertaining offers on all of them.
--
Primary = Super super attached to, probably won't sell ever. Also have lots of art. Basically all of my sonas.
Secondary = Characters I REALLY like.
Tertiary = Characters I like.
Quaternary = Characters that I have ideas for, but I haven't really gotten totally attached to.
All in all their prices may vary depending on the art quality and amount, just because I'm less sentimental
about a certain design doesn't mean that it's necessarily going to be less in value, sorry. xD;
I Accept:
- Paypal
- Pre-Existing Characters
- Art (MAYBE)
- Customs (MAYBE)
- Points (Tentatively) 100 pts = $1
I may decline your offer even if you offer within the dollar amount just because I'm not ready to separate from the character, sorry. :<

It hurts so bad
Posted 10 years agoMy back is currently hurting so bad that I'm having trouble sleeping, the pain is radiating down into my kneecap and my ankle. My hips are trying to give out randomly when I'm walking, and I change position and find any relief for more than a few minutes. I literally feel like I'm at the end of my rope. But I have to focus on my homework because it's finals week and just deal for now. All I have is tylenol and maybe some Aleve. but it hurts so bad all I want to do is curl up and cry, but I can't even do that because it'd hurt too much. My eyelid is twitching so much, and I keep getting these damn shocks down my leg.
I know I don't talk a lot about my pain, but I just felt like typing something out.
Sorry.

do you ever feel like you're "less of an artist" than others
Posted 10 years agoLike.. I look at how other artists are almost always producing art every day, multiple times a day.
And me? I sit here and toss out a drawing or a couple like 1-2 times a week maybe. Usually just doodles.
Also, I don't usually draw "just for the sake of drawing" I usually draw to design something I have in my head,
then once I've satisfied my need for that design I move onto something else entirely different.
and honestly my main motivation for drawing half of the time is to "get more popular" or "get people to like me"
because I have this dumb idea in my head that if people like my art they'll be more likely to talk to me??
I almost ONLY draw character designs exclusively, and I come up short all too often when trying to draw my characters doing something.
I really hate feeling like i'm drawing the "same thing" so I tend to not draw my characters doing much unless they haven't done it before or it's something I find super interesting.
As I mentioned before as well, I really don't tend to draw my own characters a whole lot, I usually get a handful of commissions of them because I enjoy seeing them in other artist's styles.
I was also told at one point by my boyfriend that he still thinks at some point I'll put down art for good and move onto something else that truly makes me happy.
A lot of the time art causes me a lot of grief and it doesn't really 'make me happy' so to speak. It's not my go-to for letting out frustration or to relax myself or anything.
I'm not happy with my future degree in visual communications although I've learned from interesting things from it.
I'm already considering starting to plan for going into Zoology, the downside of that is that I'll most definitely go into debt from it and that'll be another 4 years of school for a bachelors, which means I'll be in school until I'm 27 or so to be a Zoologist.
It's.. sort of demoralizing to think of how long school takes, and I'll be so old.
Not to mention my back issues aren't going to get any better, and my teeth are sort of starting to go to shit. I bet I'll be losing teeth by the time I'm 30 with the huge sweet tooth I've got and I honestly admit I'm not the best at remembering to brush my teeth. At least I've vowed to myself that I'll brush every time I take a shower and I take showers several days a week so it's progress.
-sigh-
Things just sorta add up, and I really hate being a burden on my boyfriend, and I really wish that I could just find something that I'd be happy doing.
I REALLY REALLY like working with and being around animals, but it's almost guaranteed that I'll need to have a degree of some kind to work with animals.
My dream job is probably working in a wild/big cat rescue or another wild rescue of some kind and being assigned certain animals to take care of on a daily basis. ;w;

Something that I hate about DA
Posted 10 years agoThe lack of professionalism in the adoptable community.
I bid on an adopt 2+ days ago and had the highest offer. There was no time limit for offers (which immediately makes me suspicious anymore), and I've seen this artist sometimes wait weeks or not accept an offer at all (without telling the interested parties) despite the fact that they'll say "offer more than X".
In any case, someone else offered $1.50 more than I had originally offered.. about 10 hours ago from now, and within a few hours they accepted their offer without any sort of 12 or 24 hour buffer to see if anyone else wanted to counter-offer.
And I imagine if I bring it up to them they'll give me some sort of snide "Well you should have bid how much you thought it was worth" or something.
I really hate it when people put up designs and leave it THIS open ended. It reeks of a lack of professionalism and potentially biased final choices.
It's one thing if there is a lack of interest, but if they're ignoring offers for extended amounts of time that are WITHIN the expectations they set? I find it dumb.
Not to mention that it ends up leaving BOTH the designer and the person who could have potentially paid more unsatisfied.
-sighs-
Basically I missed out on a design because someone else offered more 2 days after my offer and they snapped it up like it was a BOGO sale.
my bid -- $4.50 on April 24th 11:46PM
winning bid -- $6.00 on April 26th 3:56PM
they accepted the new bid -- April 26th, 7:34PM
Not to mention a few days ago (the same artist) I missed out on a design that they let get snapped up immediately for $3.00 without waiting to see if any more offers would come in. They're wildly unpredictable.
I bid on an adopt 2+ days ago and had the highest offer.
