Also, I'm currently in some fairly dire need of help. I've started a Ko-fi goal to help me gather funds so that my sister and I can cover the fees for our family cabin, since the rest of my family has been flaking out and my uncle is tired of covering it all himself and is wanting to sell the cabin. I can't bear the thought of losing our old cabin, and I'm hoping my siblings and I can convince our uncle to hold off on selling it until we and our mom can buy it from him, thereby keeping it in our family. If you are able to, even just the tiniest little donation will help us keep what is to us our childhood home.

Wow, so sorry for the radio silence for a while there ^^; I've been extremely busy with con prep and the subsequent AWU 2024, as well as working on some fursuits and fursuit parts for a couple of people; just a whole lotta work!

Hey, everyone, I suspect that by now you may have noticed that I haven't been very active (or interactive) online for quite some time now, and I thought it was about time that I give an update on what's going on in my life and how it effects my art and commission work.

This year has been rough. I was working 2 jobs on top of commissions and my axolotl breeding side-hobby/business, which has majorly eaten up my time and energy. I got myself down to one job (excluding the commissions and axolotls, of course), but even then I was coming home too exhausted to do much more than take care of my animals and crash. Along with the work issue my health has not been agreeing with me. I've had Covid twice in the last 4 months, and as of about a year ago I've started getting debilitating migraines for the first time of my life (I'm pretty much guaranteed at least one migraine each month). Throw in an infected cat bite that took several weeks to heal, and I'm not gonna lie when I say it's been pretty sucky.

I'm not sharing any of this to make excuses, but rather to try and explain myself. I feel absolutely terrible that I am a little over a year behind on fursuit commissions, and I constantly have guilt over it. I never intended for any commission to take as long as these have, and this last year has proven to me that I cannot balance my work life between "normal" jobs and freelancing. To amend this I have recently quit my job at a screenprinting warehouse (I was working in over 93°F heat and constantly getting sick because of it), and I am now focusing all of my time into finishing my fursuit commissions, and I am not going to be taking another job anywhere until they are finished. One should be finished within the next week or so, and the other two are also coming along. All of my fursuit commissions will be finished, and I deeply apologize for the egregious amount of time it has taken.
I don't plan to take any more fursuit commissions once these are finished, since it's clear to me that I can't complete so many in a timely manner. I do still plan on making the occasional pre-made though and have a few on the drawing board.

As far as art goes, well, I feel like I'm burned out worse than I ever have been before. To be really honest, I feel pretty depressed in general. In all truthfulness I really don't want to continue taking commissions. I feel like I have so little artistic freedom or room to experiment and grow with commissions. There's so much I want to work on and do that I can't because I only ever do commissions anymore.
I think I just need a break for a while. Create some art just for art's sake, you know? I never wanted to do art as a living, and so I will not be taking commissions for the foreseeable future unless something changes (I may still occasionally take a couple sketches here and there, who knows).

So, there you have it, I guess. Sorry this was a bit of a downer to read. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and a big thank you to all of you have stuck around though the years. It really means a lot to me. :)

Since I'm so close to finishing my last fursuit commission of the year, I feel like it's time to open for the first round of 2021 fursuits.

I'll be taking 2 suit commissions to start with for completion in Spring/Summer 2021 you can see my price list here and fill out this form to apply. I'll be choosing which commissions I take by next Tuesday.

So it's no secret that I haven't been super active here or very responsive when it comes to notes and comments, but here's a little update for anyone who cares.

I've been incredibly busy these last few months with art/fursuit commissions, my job at the aquarium, quitting my job at the aquarium, and moving back to Utah, and honestly I just haven't had even the tiniest shred of energy to do much more than the daily grind.

The Big Sad has been wearing on me some, but I am still actively working and taking commissions. I'm much more active (tho still not super responsive) on Twitter and Instagram.
