Børkday
General | Posted 11 years agoHa! I could practically refresh last year's journal.
Not a whole lot seemed to have happened that's worth writing a journal about. But, yes, today it's my Børkday.
I'm currently surrounded in the aftermath (so much cake left!).. I won't have to starve for another week! Hooray!

Weasyl. Hardly doubt you need to read this journal now!
General | Posted 13 years agoA little while ago, I went ahead and opened a Weasyl account.
Yes, I like how its more 'artist friendly', no I will not abandon FA for it. I'll maintain both places!
Just as a quick notice~

Commissions~
General | Posted 13 years agoWith great embarrassment, I am here to announce I will be taking commissions again!
Similar as last time, the reason I'm taking them is due to bills that need to be paid. More so because I am looking for an actual job in health care to finance myself properly, but that might take some time.
So!
I will take a similar approach like last time, here are some guidelines:
- First come first serve
- ONE drawing per person (makes it easier on me)
- PayPal payment only
What I will be accepting:
Sketches
* Character - $15
* Grayscale shaded sketch - $20
Examples: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4762805/
Line art
* Single character - $20
* Two characters - $25
* Three characters - $30
Examples: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/9488278/ , http://www.furaffinity.net/view/9113871/ , http://www.furaffinity.net/view/9517423/ , http://www.furaffinity.net/view/9530235/
Simple colour, no background
* One character - $35
* Two characters - $45
* Three characters - $55
Examples: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4707452/
Detailed colour/shading, limited background
* One character - $40
* Two characters - $60
* Three characters - $80
Examples: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/9911968/
Detailed colour/shading, full background
* One character - $50
* Two characters - $75
* Three characters - $100
Examples: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8072025/
I will also include the following:
Experimental: painting
* One character only - $50-70
Examples: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/9446567/ , http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7787065/
All prizes are in US dollars.
Note: These prices are guidelines. Some prices will be determined upon mutual agreement. For example, one large character and a number of much smaller ones (as in less detailed) do not fall under the category of "three characters" or more. This is dependent on the wishes of the commissioner.
As far as contents of the image go, I will try my best and draw pretty much anything this time. Although I reserve the right to turn down a commission should I not feel comfortable with the contents. For example, I'm not a fan of drawing adult themed M/M (sorry), but am perfectly fine with M/M romance. This is all up for negotiation.
Update: slots filled!
I will be accepting five slots again.
- Slot 1:
talrion
- Slot 2:
talonblaze
- Slot 3:
mandarax
- Slot 4:
geb
- Slot 5:
dragonien
Please reply to this journal stating with the commission you want (i.e. lineart), a description of what you'd like (preferably detailed), how many characters and a number of references for me to work on.
My goal is to finish each commission within a week's time max from when I start working on it. I will sometimes invite you guys over to a livestream, too!
Allow me to voice my own insecurity when drawing for others: I'll try my best, but aren't always as confident or happy with the results! I will certainly try, but that might mean I need some more time to work on your commission. Just putting that out there, doing commissions (still) doesn't come natural for me~
Anywho, I'll be happy to do something again for you guys. Cheers!

Holidays and FC13 recap
General | Posted 13 years agoOkay. I know this journal is late. As in, really late. Things have happened ever since I went to the United States and back again for my break!
I'll start with the boring personal life things first. I was living off 64kb/s internet off my phone because when I got back home, the internet was gone. GONE! D: But now everything is back in working order.
Secondly, for those who I told about, I passed my presentation. I DID IT! I finished a half year's amount of work and got graded with the equivalent of an A! That's a pretty darn good score and it even surprised me. So what does this mean? It means I'm just about done with my education and will have my bachelor's degree in Applied Psychology. Psyched!
Third, and this is what I originally tended to write about, my holidays. How to describe it? Easy: it was AWESOME.
I have absolutely zero regrets of the entire experience, especially attending Further Confusion 2013. The people I met? Way too many to list, all of you guys are truly awesome. I thought of listing names, but I always have the fear of missing out on people. YOU ARE ALL TOO AWESOME. I absolutely loved sitting down with artists and talk in the Dealer's Room and meet up with my inspirations. Also the people I knew off the internet, the roleplaying scene, so many amazing people. It was a blast, I really feel content and honoured and genuinly amazed how open and approachable everybody is.
Because I sometimes feel art speaks more than words, let me recap my holidays with media:
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/9848578/
I'm not sure what else to add, other than I made up my mind. Next year, if I can go, I will go. It's been worth everything~

Taking my winter break to the USA and FC '13
General | Posted 13 years agoAaaalright, when I look at my watch, I should arrive in Philadelphia tomorrow in.. pretty much exactly 24 hours.
It's time for me to take a holiday, a much needed one, and I'm returning to the USA to spent it! It's been over three years since I've been to that part of the world, so I'm curious how much has changed since.
First, I'll hit up Pennsylvania area to laze around at micksam7's place, who will practically be my travel buddy for the rest of the way.
Later on, I'll head over to California, where byzil and hypnoticdragon will take me in for the remainder period, which will have its finale attending FurtherConfusion 2013 in San Jose. I will be staying at the very hotel, rooming with shadowkeeper and friends.
After the FC weekend, it's back to Europe, do my bachelor thesis' oral defense (a tight schedule it is!) and a few weeks later should finish my degree.
Oof, January's gonna be a month to never forget. Unless booze is heavily involved, that might have dire consequences. Still looking forward to all of the above!
Now to sign off early, catch my sleep, and hope customs won't be an issue at Philadelphia tomorrow late~!

Commissions~
General | Posted 13 years agoYes, you saw correctly. I'm open to do some quick commissions.
The reason I do this is because of some major dentist bills dropping on my doorstep. I had to pay the equivalent of two rents. That's a lot of money for me, so I'm hoping that doing a commission every evening might 'soften' the financial pain.
Edit: slots are full!
Alright, so what will I draw for you guys?
Sketches: $15 --- Example: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4762805/ | http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8935009/
Lineart: $25 --- Example: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/9113871/ | http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8665164/
Payment: PayPal only
Prefered content of commission:
general, tame, maybe mature, but no adult content
I'll take five slots for now to be filled up:
* Slot 1:
cassedy
* Slot 2
tareck
* Slot 3
Sephirothiel
* Slot 4
talonblaze
* Slot 5
dragonjo
First come first serve!
Please reply with a comment to this journal stating if you want a sketch or lineart, some references, and what should be depictured. And I'll do the best I can for you~
Truth be told, I am extremely busy this month with my bachelor thesis, christmas, vacation plans and preparations... so if I take on a commission of you, I do plan to finish it in, say, 48 hours. But if I don't meet that deadline due to stress on my part, I hope you can understand.
Cheers!

My two minutes of fame
General | Posted 14 years agoUsually I don't have much to report, therefore I don't update this journal often. But now there is something again:
Last night I was listening to the radio, a rather well known national station with perhaps a few hundred thousand listeners per day. It was past midnight and felt like sleeping soon, but on the radio they made a request to us listeners, which was to send in a song or band I recently discovered.
I threw in a song that I've known for a while, but never heard on that station. I never expected them to call back, either. Both of that changed in 5 minutes.
After sending in the text I went back to my business, until a short while later my phone was ringing, a private number. And I kinda went like "... oh shi-". So I picked up, and yes, my song was selected. Short while later, after my full name and current residence was announced (>.o), I was live on the radio.
Funny thing is, I was tired and sleepy, so I wasn't very 'social' or spontanous XD I kinda wish I could've done the brief interview over, on what's it like where I live, how I got to know the song, etc. Anyway, they never heard of the song and were glad that I did. So.. yay!
Two minutes of fame, and I was bloody tired and wanted to sleep. XP
It's still a bit surreal, having spoken to those DJs live..
Anyway, here's the song I sent in: Oceanship - Hotblack
Enjoy~

Minecraft and other things
General | Posted 14 years agoMinecraft is such a wonderful legal and free drug. I had no idea! Thankfully, I know how to restrict myself. But I do love the adventure part of it all, to simply explore the (underground) world and start with nothing, ending up with entire empires made brick by brick.
I'm sure plenty of you folks know of it, or heck, even play it frequently.
Last week I also received F1 2011. I'm a bit of a racing nut, greatly enjoying driving with precision and little support. I wonder if anyone else here plays this game. I hardly know of anyone else who likes these kind of games.
Education wise, I'm so relieved having a normal schedule again. I'm currently following my practical course for my bachelor degree in Applied Psychology, which basically means I'm employed at a mental health institute and see clients on a weekly basis. It's quite fun work, with very reasonable (albeit casual) 9am-to-5pm hours. But it sure beats a flipping school schedule that wants me to start at 4pm till 8pm one day, and from 1:30pm to 3pm the next, having completely batshitcrazed hours that mess up my daily routine.
Lastly, I hope to have a nice break over the winter again. Possibly after Christmas. It´s been a bit since I`ve been out and around, but hope to spend time with my friends abroad again!

Something personal
General | Posted 14 years agoNot a lot of people are aware of this little thing going on in my life called a relationship. For the past three months I've been together with someone, someone I truly adore and love. Someone who was only a few minutes away from my doorstep. The-girl-next-door, one could say. Quite literally in that sense too.
Sadly, however, the relationship came to an end.
Yet I look back with a smile on my face. She was everything I wanted and more. Though it troubles my mind that it didn't work out in the end. We both really wanted it to, yet somehow we didn't really connect, in the end.
So.. now I'm on my own again.
The reason I'm writing this journal is, because.. well.. we all know how emotions work, don't we. I just felt the urge to write this.. and.. yeah. I simply feel saddened and in a mournful state of mind. And then I simply write~
Thanks for reading however. I don't plan on keeping this journal up for all eternity. It would then only turn into a nasty reminder of things.

Commission information
General | Posted 15 years agoSo it is decided. I plan on opening up for commissions again some time soon.
The reason for this is summer's coming up, and I'm unemployed. Bloody hell, finding a job turned out to be such a curse. So in order to maintain myself and being able to pay my rent, I will dedicate my time drawing.
This time I will do full coloured pieces aswell, anything you people ask for.
Stay tuned~
# Even if I do manage to get a job soon, I will likely open up for commissions anyway. Atleast it keeps me drawin!
# Please, don't note me now on commissions! Once the commission slots open, you will see it in a future journal.

His Majesty's Dragon - Online!
General | Posted 15 years agoI have no clue for how long this will be available, but...
The book His Majesty's Dragon (aka Temeraire) is available for free pdf download! If you want to get hooked on this fantastic series but don't wanna pay just yet, here's your change!
Page link: http://www.suvudu.com/freelibrary/
Direct pdf link: http://a1018.g.akamai.net/f/1018/19.....tyfinalsuv.pdf
About the first book on #
"In this delightful first novel, the opening salvo of a trilogy, Novik seamlessly blends fantasy into the history of the Napoleonic wars. Here be dragons, beasts that can speak and reason, bred for strength and speed and used for aerial support in battle. Each nation has its own breeds, but none are so jealously guarded as the mysterious dragons of China. Veteran Capt. Will Laurence of the British Navy is therefore taken aback after his crew captures an egg from a French ship and it hatches a Chinese dragon, which Laurence names Temeraire. When Temeraire bonds with the captain, the two leave the navy to sign on with His Majesty's sadly understaffed Aerial Corps, which takes on the French in sprawling, detailed battles that Novik renders with admirable attention to 19th-century military tactics. Though the dragons they encounter are often more fully fleshed-out than the stereotypical human characters, the author's palpable love for her subject and a story rich with international, interpersonal and internal struggles more than compensate."
GO READ IT NAO!
And for those who already follow the series, only a month left till the 6th book! *gets all jumpy and excited*

Commissions
General | Posted 16 years agoNOTE: Slots have been filled. Commissions are now CLOSED until further notice!
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
Amusing. I just checked back and the last time I mentioned doing commissions was 4 months ago. And here I am again.
Alright, I want to do some commissions. Pronto. BUT! Only sketches/headbusts/avatars. No big projects in high quality or full coloured works. Quantity over quality! I don't have in mind yet how many I will take, I'll probably limit myself to under 10 the most.
What I WILL draw:
Themes: general, tame, adult, fetish, heterosexual, solo, couples (any genders)
Characters: furry, scaly, human, feathered, anthro, feral, male, female
What I will NOT draw:
Themes: watersports, spooge, scat, homosexual (adult)
Characters: hermaphrodite
So what are the prices we are talking about? Like I said, no high quality stuff, so the costs are pretty low. About 10-15 dollars per sketch, depending on the content. Icons will go for the price of $9 and will come in basic colours.
Some examples are in order, yus? These are stolen from my other account, I don't have many sketches online on this one!
* Sketch: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1948135/ -- $15
* Sketch: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1983816/ -- $10
* Headbust: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b.....rt/Arankar.jpg -- $10
So there you have it. Payments will be done through Paypal.
CONTACT ME WITH DETAILS BY NOTES.
Please go easy on me, I don't want a stampede or anything D= I will have no deadlines set, so if you commission me: it will be done when it's done.
Thanks for your patience! =D

Welcome to 2010
General | Posted 16 years agoHappy New Years and Christmas and everything else =P
This year is 2010: Year of the Tiger. Which is MY year! Huzzah! *Dances around* I guess that's why I always loved Hobbes and Tigger so much..
Anyway, all the best wishes for the new year =]

Birthday birthday
General | Posted 16 years agoToday is the day we celebrate how 23 years ago the miracle of birth happened to me.
Now, I wouldn't concider *myself* as the miracle per se.. but yeah! I'M OLD. SENILE, WUT?

Updates, America, and commissions?
General | Posted 16 years agoFirst off, people should really poke/hit/smash me in the face for not updating this thing often enough.
For those who haven't seen or were completely unaware of its existence, I made a journal about the trip I had in the United States from July to August this year. You can follow this link for the story, and ofcourse pictures and videos! http://winterblueart.livejournal.com/74575.html
Again, my deepest wishes go out to
bl00dr4g0n,
hypnoticdragon,
Byzil, Kodisoa,
rogue, Uncle Kage,
mnementh,
Pyxaron, Serephis, Ailé,
Kernac, and most of all:
sirorca
You've all been fantastic! =D
//////
In other news, the thought of doing commissions start arising again! Especially now Wacom has launched a new tablet series (and still got the money from that donation thingy if anyone remembers; thanks to those who helped me!), I'm pretty much interested in getting one now.. That, and money is nice C=
There will be some different approaches to the last time I did commissions. One fact is certain: I won't do mature/adult. Aslong as no bits show, it should be fine.
Secondly, I need to think of a working system, seeing how so many people poked me for a commission in the past.
Thirdly, I won't do colouring. Sorry! It just stresses me too much and is no fun to do.
More updates should follow.. As for an estimate, I *really* can't say when I open up, but you'll know it first here. Could be this weekend, could be next month. There's some organisation I need to do to make it work, afterall.
/// Perhaps I should do some quick commissions.. to get warmed up.. You know, those $5 dollar thingies or something. I don't know yet.
In any case, yeah. Thanks for reading!

Final day
General | Posted 16 years agoI've been extremely lousy in keeping my travel through the US and Canada updated. Erf.
As it turns out.. "Time flies when you're having fuuuuun!"
I'm already on the final day of the trip, whilst currently being in Montreal in Canadianland. Later today I'll hop on the plan to head back to good ol' Europe, and arrive in about a day from now. *Sighs* Kinda saddening, but mreh. Back to normal life I suppose!
Once I'm settled I will get down and catch up with a few things..

Megaplex anyone?
General | Posted 16 years agoSince I currently am in Orlando with my friend
sirorca, we intend on going to the Megaplex convention in Kissimee (or however you spell it). So yes, if you ever wanted to see the real life me, here's your chance!
However, some advice would be helpful from your end. For one, how to get there? Public transport? Taxi? Since we're taking off from the airport hotel, somewhere in the middle of Orlando.
Will there be certain requirements for me to join the convention? I know about the pass and that you can ask for that at the entrance, though.
And lastly, who else will go? I ask this question since more than likely more people know me than I do them =P
Thanks!

Florida, here I come
General | Posted 16 years agoIn a few hours time I will be on my way to the airport, saying goodbye to my good friends
hypnoticdragon and
byzil. California is a great place, nice and sunny, albeit hot at times. Staying at their place was really good and amusing, and I'd recommend anybody else to go stick around with them some time.
Along the way I also met up with FlamingWars ( aka
bl00dr4g0n ), and for those two days we spent together.. it was awesome! We really had a good time, joking around, visiting the San Francisco beach and driving around. It's a sad thing our stays only last for a handful of days. I'd love to come back here some time..
I also noticed that, for just one week in America, we've been doing and seeing a LOT of things... It's an amazing country. You treat your tourists well =P
