Heros
General | Posted 3 years agoI read one of the last 4 living " CodeTalkers" has passed at an astonishing 98 years old.
Samuel Sandoval died late Friday at a hospital in Shiprock, New Mexico, his wife, Malula told The Associated Press on Saturday. He was 98.
Hundreds of Navajos were recruited from the vast Navajo Nation to serve as Code Talkers with the U.S. Marine Corps. Only three are still alive today: Peter MacDonald, John Kinsel Sr. and Thomas H. Begay.

an amazing generation that saw the highest character facing the lowest character humanity can offer.

In person
General | Posted 4 years agoThis last week i had to travel for work, which i hate doing, i'm not a traveling type person and i find it unpleasantly stressful. For cons it's worth it, but for work, blegh.
Anyhoo as happened i got a silver lining as i had to travel near the den of Vixxy Fox, so for the first time after knowing eachother through FA for well over a decade, we met IRL!
It was so good to see the furson behind the books and stories and good vibes over the interwebs. And i'll hold that nice moment in my heart.

Yeager
General | Posted 5 years agoA bit late, but yeah, an aviation legend passing after a verly long and adventure full life. Some people are really blesssed with good genes, good timing, and good constitution. Chuck Yeager was not only the first person to go supersonic, at 89 he was the fastest old person in history by going mach 2.5 round abouts piloting an F15. Old pilots never die, they just fly higher and faster than we can see.

Changling
General | Posted 6 years agoJust learned Rene Auberjonois passed away today.
He notably played “Odo” on startrek Deep Space 9. My favorite ST series. Always hurts when a cultural icon from my youth succumbs to their all too human nature and passes on.
Peace and long life.

Time
General | Posted 6 years agoTime, in my experience, moves more like rocks. Sliding, pressing, building up force underground and then with one jerk that shakes the crockery,a whole field of turnips has mysteriously slipped sideways by 6 feet.
