Happy Midsummers!
Posted 2 years agoIf youre not familiar with the holiday you can read about it here: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Midsummer
Each country celebrates it differently but as a custom in Norway tall bonfires are often lit. Did you know that Norwegians hold a second place for building the worlds highest bonfire? This was a Sankthansbål built in Ålesund in 2016 and it was 47,4 meters tall!

Posted 2 years agoGosh,
It wasn't long ago I crossed the 777 subscriber threshold and here are at 888+
There are no words I can properly articulate in my thanks for all of your shared interest. It was only a few years ago that I started making personal animations again realizing there was a serious lack of it in these online communities and since then my application to the art form has grown. Its broken me out of a creative art block during my free time and its challenged my ability to execute increasingly complex shots.
I hope to continue this trend for as long as my appetite manages and help many of you realize your characters manifest in animated forms. Its a real treat to have worked with all the people I've had the pleasure of animating for, truly you all have been such great clients and enthusiasts. I know saying all this might sound like a broken record but it really is awesome to share the exploration of themes be they sfw or not with all the rest of you ^^
Here's to a successful and fruitful year!

Since I hit the 777 subscriber milestone I thought I would celebrate the occasion with some statistics on the projects and gallery.
- 'Cock Like a Horse' (Animated), 'Ventus Redefined' (Animated) and 'Pensive Twins' (Animated) are the three most viewed animations in the gallery, the first being watched twice as much as its next highest contender.
- 'A Productive Member' (Animated) features over 1,500 individual motion graphic designs that compose the complete animation.
- The year 2021 featured the most client-commissioned works at a total of 8 projects totaling 18 animated features completed altogether (prototypes & finished animations alike).
Thank you for your supporting these projects, I didn't expect many people to find the stuff I animate all that interesting so I'm very humbled to have the opportunity to share them all with you. Here's to the 888+ milestone!

You can expect more activity from gallery updates later this month so stay tuned for that, otherwise I hope you all have a fun and bubbly weekend ^w^

2023 plans
Posted 2 years agoHullo everyone! :3
Now that things are starting to normalize I thought I would share a bit of my medium term plans so you know what to expect in the coming annum:
Now that animated gifs function on the site I'll be uploading a few works here and there between projects.
I'm still working through a waiting list which is principally why commissions haven't been open for the fall and winter but many project proposals have been stricken out as completed so I'll be aiming to finish most if not all of the rest in this calendar year. In addition to the commissioned projects I'll also be setting aside time to focus on personal projects (especially with a foray into animated comics and illustrative design) as well as collaborations again. The last three months of 2022 was a bit grueling with various commitments and workflows but I have become mindful of my pacing so I anticipate a more streamlined output with each project this year - its been a bit of an experimental process.
I've also had the opportunity to hire on a few artists to assist with various aspects to my animating so I'm hoping to continue that this year expanding both scope and budget, mainly as a means to provide opportunities to the talent but also, as a consequence, produce finished footage a bit more quickly and consistently. We shall see how this continues to pan out.
To all the interested parties - don't worry, I have a properly documented waiting list and those who have approached me about a project will be contacted at the soonest possible opportunity. Those who have also been patient with me concerning collaborations will also have a chance once I have a good time frame for you - I will assure that these proposals will also be followed up on in due time.
I'll also be attending a few cons this year, particularly the Nordic FuzzCon, Furry Weekend Holland and Eurofurence (possibly) so if you are attending, don't hesitate say hi!
Thanks again to all of you and the wider community for your generosity and kind words <3 I'm hoping this will develop into a very productive year.

FA and Animated Gifs
Posted 3 years agoHello interwebs ^^
After discovering some issues in the use of animated gifs that came along with the sites updates I will be unable to post new content involving animations until this has been addressed. Rest assured, I will resume posting material once that impediment has been resolved ^^
If you're really keen to see animated content, you can also visit my Patreon page to follow development work there - though I am required to paywall all the nsfw content for obvious reasons so its understandable if that does not have the same appeal. The link can be found below, note that I have disabled payments for the month of December which inhibits new Patrons from subscribing (weird I know), the service will become available again in January.
Happy holidays to you all and stay warm! (If you're in a cold place that is X3)

I might set up gallery accounts across other web hosts to expand awareness and access but I'll make a mention of it when I do - in the mean time, links will all be provided on my profile info here. Posted 3 years agoYeah not sure what to say other than thanks!
So in place of some clever writing here's random 666 factoids:
- Is the magic sum, or sum of the magic constants of a six by six magic square, any row or column of which adds up to 111.
- Is the sum of all the numbers on a roulette wheel (0 through 36).
- Was a winning lottery number in the 1980 Pennsylvania Lottery scandal, in which equipment was tampered to favor a 4 or 6 as each of the three individual random digits.
- Aleister Crowley adopted the title "the Beast 666". As such, 666 is also associated with him, his work, and his religious philosophy of Thelema.
- Molar mass of the high-temperature superconductor YBa2Cu3O7.
- In Chinese numerology the number is considered to be lucky and is often displayed in shop windows and neon signs. In China, 666 can mean "everything goes smoothly" (the number six has the same pronunciation as the character 溜, which means "smooth".)
- Is commonly used by ISPs to blackhole traffic using BGP communities.
- 666 Fifth Avenue in New York City, which was bought for $1.8 billion in 2007, was the most expensive real estate deal in New York's history.

Creative Commons Music
Posted 3 years agoHey everyone,
I've recently been interested in utilizing a soundtrack for potential projects but i wanted to maintain a creative commons licensing to the whole process. If any of you have suggestions to musical libraries online that catalog pieces under this licensing I would appreciate the suggestions. I've been on the hunt for Bulgarian women's choir music and the like, but I'm open to a wider array that might run in the same vein.
Again if you want to share links you can post them here or shoot me a note. Thanks to any of you for offering ideas in advance!

Discord streaming?
Posted 4 years agoGreetings!
So lately I've been doing some ad-hoc streaming sessions with various people on servers doing sketches. I didn't really give any of this much thought from the start since I'm still very much a small fry and frankly I have little interest in setting up anything elaborate for streams. But with the uptick in attention lately and the convenience of Discord's service its all had me thinking perhaps its an opportunity to look into setting up a portal for viewers keen to just watch my workflow. I imagine it'll be pretty simple, there probably won't be any sound nor will I receive any but for those who enjoy watching someone work or want company this could be something I can look into.
Let me know what you guys think.

Expanding horizons?
Posted 4 years agoHeyo, another blurb on thinking out loud.
I appreciated the feedback I've gotten through the last entry or directly in PMs so I thought I'd touch on a few other topics I've been thinking about. Most of my gallery as you know is very NSFW, I'm pretty content with what I've come up with and collaborated with others over creating. That said, the allure of trying things that don't always fit neatly into that category has interested me too. Beyond just TFs and the wildly abstract (which have been super rad experiences animating) I'm also interested in trying out things that give people's sonas, characters, ideas, etc more life in an animated form. Maybe helping artists with animating comic sequences, nothing too extravagant but that could be a neat idea. Alternatively I could look into giving characters a personal touch like enjoying tea/coffee in good company or something as simple as walk cycles, stuff like that. I recently did some animations covering more academic prototyping for people and for the length that it was, the results were pretty good! So who knows, maybe that can be something I can also dive into from time to time.
Is there stuff out there you would love to see animated more often? Something incredibly NSFW or leaning on the casual daily life observances (thinking about those iconic Ghibli cut-scenes with passive animating)? What are your thoughts? I'm open to all kinds of input since its just conceptual or even simpler with ideas on paper.

Size upload limits (concerning animation)
Posted 4 years agoHey everyone, just thinking out loud today,
So its been a long time coming.
(Just to preface this: This post is isn't so much a complaint on my part about the bottleneck that is this upload size and I'm aware I can always jump to other platforms which do support bigger files. I'm just focusing on growing this venue and making my work as accessible as possible without having to cut footage, or split animations up in janky ways. This will probably always pose a challenge as my goal with animations is to offer some narrative context to what's happening as well.)
Ever since I started posting, the hard limit for animated works has been that notorious 10 megabytes. I've been pretty lucky since the simplicity of my pencil tests doesn't command as much memory, but this has also been mitigated by my decision to use 480p resolution and normally without color while still keeping to 24 frames per second (in some rare cases I've had to cut footage from some animations just to make them available.)
Lately I've had a lot of fun experimenting with camera tracking, effects and a lot more color than I normally apply. The look of pieces really shine in that regard and I want to take on new standards with my work. The tricky thing is making these changes while still scraping by with >10mb. My latest project already hit 17.8 and with some clever compression work I was able to reduce it beneath that threshold, but this only makes the problem more glaring if I continue to develop more elaborate pieces, especially if I start wandering into HD space with 720p. One possible solution to mitigate this is the reduction of total frames. To put this in context 10 seconds of animation would require 240 individually animated images, that data can stack up, but if I reduce the frame rate from 24 to 12, and keep all images shot on ones instead of two I can effectively halve this volume. It does create interesting problems like reducing the smoothness of camera tracking and pans but I suppose its a small sacrifice I can make in order to provide more beautiful imagery in color and screen definition. This is made more the case with longer animations that originally were shot on 3's running at 24 frames per second. I can reduce the frame rate to 8fps to maintain that same running time speed but camera tracks are made much more distracting due to that jerkiness they exhibit at that running time.
I think in the next few weeks I'll review my project options and add info bits to allow people the choice to decide with better awareness whether they want a focus on longer or shorter animations with pros and cons attached to each aspect of them. This is something that ofc will have some follow up (perhaps on a few occasions) to contextualize why I'm setting up the project frameworks the way I am.
Should there be some clever workarounds or techniques other animators on this platform use for their works I'm all ears. Thanks for listening in everyone!

Updates on my project work
Posted 4 years agoHello Internet :3
Its been some time since I posted a journal so I thought I would touch on a few things to help bring clarity to the happenings in my daily work. Animations as you might have guessed take time to complete I like to raise the bar with each project and maintain a high-quality standard moving forward with the process. As a solution to this lull in development I'll probably goof off with some prototypes in scraps every now and then so you can check those out when they drop (let me know which one is your favorites, I love hearing about your impressions!)
For those in particular waiting for a chance to work with me on a project, I want to assure you I have you properly organized in my listing. I know some users tend to post their line ups, but I also respect many who prefer a measure of discretion so I mainly use my list for internal references. I'm working through them as diligently as can be so I wanted to express my appreciation at your patience and support until you have your chance :3
I might also be engaging in some mini projects for the future (announcements will outline them more when I have details to share) so be sure to keep an eye out for that too.
I hope you all have had a good summer thus far! Mine has finally started cooling down (like a polar bear in the desert, this is heaven).

I've recently completed a rather sizable milestone in some project work and I'm looking forward to jumping into new challenges. You can expect more postings soon since I've been quiet on the content front for a few months. If you're interested in learning about some of the aspects of being an animator like, how life drawing plays an important part in my workflow, you can find stuff about that here: July Snapshot #1
Otherwise you can expect a few smaller bite-sized prototype projects coming out of the wood works in the next few months. I'm pretty keen on exploring a wide-variety of themes while I continue developing my character animation nuances, so stay tuned ;)
Annnd if you ever feel like having a chat, are curious about my work or want to invite me to discord groups concerning animation and the likes, feel free to give me a poke: Witte_Konijn#7544
