Shutocon, New account, and short hiatus
Posted 8 years agoHey! Just a couple heads up announcements.
Like i said in a previous journal, ill be selling in the AA at Shutocon next March! In preparation for that, and while i work on illustrations for a few zines and projects im in, and starting classes again, ill be taking a hiatus from commissions after my current ones are done. In the next few months ill be making all of the art for the merchandise ill be printing in January! I may do some small commissions here and there to help fund printing some of the merch alongside preorders, but i cant make any promises.
During this time ill also be setting up my new account over on prettyboyfix. Please go follow that account if you havent already, and want to keep seeing my art on FA!
I have also been having a lot of issues with my browser on my computer, which has been keeping me from accessing the internet sometimes for full days at a time due to browsers not opening, or crashing immediately. Updating, restarting, and reinstalling hasnt been doing much help, so i may have to just switch browsers eventually. Im sorry if it takes me a day or a few days to respond to messages and comments, i promise im not ignoring you!

Posted 8 years agoHey, dont be alarmed! i just want to change my username to match the one im already using for my NSFW art over on tumblr. Ill be crossposting stuff between here and the new account for a while, but i wanted to make the switch before i get a ton of followers over here. Any new YCH i make will be hosted there but advertised here for the time being, and the commissions i do after this current batch will be posted there exclusively.

Posted 8 years agoChicago was a ton of fun! Its time to get back to art and commissions though. Ill be finishing up those chibis and a few other commissions, and hopefully posting the new YCH by the end of the week! I also formatted some of my character designs to put up for sale, so keep an eye out for all of those too!

zombietoes and i have been accepted into the ShutoCon 2018 Artists' Alley! If youre going to Shuto (Lansing, MI in March!) wed love to see you there! This fall/winter will be hardcore merchmaking time, so ill be doing a lot of commissions and preorders to fund getting those printed.

Most of you have probably seen the sneak peek picture of my next set of YCH going up, those will probably be posted sometime this week, and be up for auction for a little over a week or maybe two weeks. Ive got some more ideas for YCH rolling around in my head right now, so ill be preparing those while these next YCH are up for auction...!

i havent been on furaffinity for very long, compared to other websites ive been a part of, but this has probably been one of the calmest and most welcoming places ive been able to make a little place for myself on. thank you guys all for welcoming me so warmly, and for sticking around this long! it doesnt feel like ive been here long enough to have accumulated 100 drawings yet..
i dont know if people do the "catch my kiriban" thing on fa, or if its done any more at all, but if someone catches my 1000th page view and screenshots it, ill draw them something for free!
hopefully sometime soon ill hit 200 submissions and 2000 page views? im cranking out art as we speak, so were on our way. i think my goal for the next [amount of time here] is to get some original art on here too, since the majority of things ive been posting have been commission related. i dont think ive drawn my fursona since the first month i had this account!

Im going to be at Colossalcon this upcoming weekend for a very casual and low key cosplay getaway. I'm going to be a drifloon gijinka on friday, casual/lazy Henry from FE awakening on saturday, and maybe a casual/lazy Keith from VLD on sunday if im not too tired. if anyone is going and knows about any drawing parties or other fun stuff, let me know!

Future commission ideas.. Looking for opinions!
Posted 8 years agoI'm considering a few different options for types of commissions to offer in the future, let me know if you like any of these ideas, or if you have another suggestion for what youd like to see me do!+++
Convention Character Badges
I've been thinking about doing fursona/character badges for a while. I would offer them either as digital art to be printed out and mailed, or doing them in watercolor paints or colored pencil. They would range in scale and character size (head, bust, full body) too. I'd be laminating them with clear contact paper, and offer to write in information on the backside if requested! They would be mailed out, or available for pickup at select conventions I will be attending.

Adoptables
I have a few ideas for character adopts, including general character design sales and more mystery-type adopts. I see a lot of those egg adopts where you buy one and find out the character design afterwards, and im really intrigued to make some of my own! I have a few character designs i made and never used, so those will likely go up for sale regardless of use eventually, once i revamp the art.

DND Tabletop Minis
Ive noticed there arent a lot of places that offer customizable DND character pieces that arent human/humanoid, to a certain extent. I had to make my own piece for my sheep cleric because of it. I would love to take a few limited commissions for feral-character tabletop pieces, if theres any interest! Though ill have to upload some pictures of mine beforehand.

I could probably lay off the YCH drawings for now and do general character illustration commissions, as advertised on my commissions page! This would involve more advertising on my part, but it would open the door to more customizable art for commissioners.

1"-2" Custom Buttons
I have a close friend with a buttonpress and button blanks in 1" and 1.5-2" sizes, and weve done custom button commissions at conventions in the past. I'd like to bring those back because they were a lot of fun to do! These would be mailed out as well, i dont think i would be comfortable carrying them to conventions to deliver, because theyre so small.

Posted 8 years agoi typed out an entire journal, and then my page refreshed. sigh. attempt 2:
i finally had that doctors appointment, which was about as stressful as i was expecting it to be, but at least its over. i got a referral to physical therapy, which will help immensely once i start it. we talked about mental-related stuff too, so were gonna keep an eye on that. nothing has really actually changed, but at least i have some kind of good change to look forward to? thats better than where i was before.
i applied for a few projects and zines, of which i got into 2, so ill have some drawings to do for those in the coming weeks/months. the other ones ive applied to dont have their choices coming out for another few weeks so im waiting on that, but i have my fingers crossed. honestly im thrilled i was accepted for one in the first place! its never happened before. (thats why i entered so many, i honestly expected to get passed over for all of them) (pleasant surprise!)
im kicking myself in the ass to finish the tail ends of last commissions i have, and then i dont know exactly what im going to do. i have a few options swirling around in my head that i havent decided on..
a) make more ych, either sfw or nsfw
b) open commission slots for various illustration tiers
c) try my hand at adopts with some designs ive stocked up
d) focus on making more merch for tictail and conventions
e) focus on personal projects, like game concept art and such
well see how i feel once ive got everything else off my plate and can think clearly though
as always, im always open to suggestions for YCH themes and poses, so if you have an idea you want to share, leave me a comment or note! if i end up drawing off your request, you get first dibs on the sketches.
if youre waiting on a commission from me, ive been working on them bit by bit, but im very slow. feel free to ask me about a wip shot if you want one! i can get one to you within 24 hours

Posted 9 years agoi just wanna say sorry to anyone waiting on art from me, ive been going through a lot of low depressive streaks lately and its really been killing my productivity aside from those rare moments where im compelled to draw. catching those rare moments during times where im able to work on nsfw art is even harder.
Im setting a goal for myself to finish everything ive got on my plate currently, in order to get out one or two valentines day ych. so maybe look forwards to those?
im making a doctors appointment soon so hopefully i can get this all sorted out and get back to my normal level of.. being able to do things.

Commissions for Kitten's Vet Bills!!!
Posted 9 years agoIn light of recent cat pee related reasons, the money i had raised for Ohayocon and the profit from my next upcoming round of commissions will be used to pay for my kitten's vaccinations and neutering. This probably wont happen for another two weeks or so, but keep an eye out!
If youre feeling especially generous, I have my ko-fi "tip jar" linked on my page! All money received, through commissions and donations, will be going towards the vet bills.
So far i have around $50, the full cost of the bill will be around $300!
My partner is also working on raising funds, but with them injuring their dominant hand over the weekend, itll be difficult for them to do commissions on the side. I'll hopefully be getting a part time job again soon, but im also starting classes again next week, so my workload will determine my hours and how many commissions im able to take.
in other news, happy 2017! heres to a good year of art!

Some upsetting news
Posted 9 years agoUnfortunately it seems that I wont be able to go to ohayocon in january, since my cosplay group doesnt want to put themselves in a bad financial situation after the holidays by spending hundreds of dollars for a trip/convention. Yeah im sad i cant go, but i understand why it would be a bad idea to jump at a con with inadequate prep/budget.
This doesnt mean im cancelling any YCH and stuff like that, whats up is up and open offers are open! I just probably wont be posting new YCH and things as quickly and as frequently in the next few weeks as i was planning.
Thanks again to everyone who commissioned/bid/even thought about supporting this for me! At the very least, this means ill have a better chance to prep for whatever the next con im going to will be.

$15 for a pair of joined icons, at 400x800px

-A waist-up YCH of a character in a jacket with a warm drink ($15)
-A 2-character scene of raking leaves (or trying to) with a background ($25)

Early Bird or Night Owl: i was an early bird until i adapted to fit my current social schedule
What Time Do You Go To Bed: I get IN bed anywhere between 8 and 12 depending. sometimes i dont fall asleep until 6am.
What Time Do You Get Up: fuck.. between 9 and 3 ITS TERRIBLE
What Do You Sleep In: a t-shirt and shorts usually in summer, winter gets those fuzzy pants too
Do you Dream Frequently: its a 50/50 chance if i do though its getting less often

Favorite Stuff:
Foods: tiramisu, anything with cinnamon, pan fried fish, homemade soup, my grandpas pepper sauce.. collard greeens....
Carbonated Drinks: sprite and rock 'n rye
Non-Carbonated Drinks: 50 kinds of fruit juice and ovaltine
Ice cream flavor: watermelon sorbet and that Coldstone cinnamon one. also if you know of Andys frozen custard? the coffee one. i horde that shit.
Season: right between summer and fall where its still like 70 outside but cold at night!
Animals: Lions, peacocks, cats cats cats cats
Colors: YELLOW and neutral tones. outside colors like blue green and cozy browns!
Music: god like everything. i like songs with odd transitions and overlapping sounds? like the coraline or paprika soundtrack?
TV shows: Steven Universe is the only one i keep up with, but i love Anthony Bourdain and other food/travel/discovery shows
Video games: SPYRO, Okami, ACNL, and im getting into Pokemon and Minecraft!

Im praying for a bit of a financial cushion in my prep for Matsuricon next month-- ordering prints and other supplies and merchandise is looking like its going to cost upwards of $200, on top of my hotel fees, parking/gas, table fee, and making sure i have some money left over for food
not to mention i somehow have to cover $1k+ for my courses this upcoming semester
I have six different YCH poses available right now at the link below in my YCH folder (most of which are NSFW, including BDMS themes)

good news is ive got 7 more ready to post RIGHT NOW! Not to mention all but one are mature/nsfw.
I'll be posting more as soon as im done/almost done with the batch i currently have going. Im planning to do another set or two of beverage YCH poses as well, since i have a really long working list for those, and people seemed to really really like them.
As always if you have any suggestions for YCH themes/poses, throw them at me! im always open to ideas :D
