What am I going to do right now?

I'm going to go on and on about The Peacekeepers Age

Why do I keep bringing it up? - Because I love this place. I love this place more than I like a lot of things. I've put a ton of work into building this place and cultivating a community. And yeah, part of me feels like a dick to keep bringing it up, but also I keep drawing for it, I keep doing a lot of work for this place and I am proud of it.

I draw all the dragons, the whers, do most of the firelizard art, I do nearly everything. From templates to the art I keep posting here (active members get art discounts too), etc etc.

I love this place, I really do.

And that's why I'm annoying as fuck about it.

What is it?
It's a roleplay forum!
And before you ask, or try to, it is PG13/SFW only.
But it's an RP forum. You play humans in a medieval sort of setting, who bond to psychic dragons for life, and fight a parasitic, acid rainfall. Also there's politics, hatchings, and honestly there's a ton of stuff you can do.

Ew, humans.
Tough.

Why should I bother?
I dunno.
Maybe you like RP? Maybe you like dragons? I don't know. But the community is fantastic. Plus active members get art discounts, like the $1 dragons I keep posting.

But I don't know the canon...
We have guides you can read and reference, and myself and the other staff are happy to answer your questions, even if you think they're stupid. We have several players who started out not knowing Pern at all. We're patient. As long as you read the lore (it's only 1 topic, and an optional Newbie Guide), we can help you. If you don't read anything and then complain that you don't understand, we can't help you.

I'm so burned out on doing traditional commissions right now that I just want to do something different, so please let me know what you think.

Well, I finally hopped on the bandwagon.

I finally set up Telegram (not on my desktop just yet but it's on my phone, it's been seconds). Right now I'm only giving it out to people I trust (shoot me a PM if you want my username), because I've gotten enough creepy messages over the year and would rather not have my phone number out there.

Don't use it to hit me up for commissions. I've had enough people try that over other social media despite me saying that I'm only using notes/email so I have a nice clear record.

But yeah. It's there.


Secondly, today's stream will be at about the same time. Do I know what I'm drawing yet? No. Fuck if I know what it'll be. Maybe it'll be some more $1 dragons or whatever.

Do people even like my Pern stuff? I feel like I ramble about my site too much but I spent so long working on it and building it, I am equal parts wanting it to be successful and wanting people to join up. I'll shut up if it's annoying.


And finally, are egg adopts still a thing? I kinda want to try a few but I doubt anyone would be super interested. It's mostly me wanting to do some character design. If there's interest in that at all, maybe I'll try that. I think it would be fun even if I don't make more than a few bucks off of them.

Fair warning, this is written fairly sternly, but this has been updated and done to protect me. I've been pretty lax in actually sharing this because you guys have been pretty good and I haven't needed to do anything. But that is my failing, not yours, and I apologize for not having this on-hand.

But Tucker, why is this written like this? You don't own my character you can't own the rights to it!

I don't own your character, I own whatever artwork I drew of your character. Now, I'm not going to sell it, I don't reprint commissions to sell, but legally, the artist owns the art. You have to buy commercial rights if you want to sell prints of art I drew.

Not for a few weeks.

October was so busy and I was drawing so much with Hostage Hotel that I don't even want to think about drawing right now. I know I should be. I should be open, making money, letting all of you get some more art, but I just can't. I'm so exhausted at the idea that I just can't do it.

I've had one or two people in my inbox demanding to know if I'm open, and I have to turn people down because I can't do this right now. I'm so tired of drawing right now.

At present, I'm just doing PWYW streams once or twice a week.

I'm exhausted, everyone. Hostage Hotel wore me down, along with IRL events.

Please be patient. If I don't open this month, I will in December.

Also, for those worrying about my cat: His surgery went well! He had a tooth pulled and he is back to normal. Thank you to everyone who bought a Hostage Hotel commission, you helped my boocat get his surgery.

I'm having a rough day, so today's stream is probably going to be whatever. I'll probably work on some dragons. Or something. I don't know. Any donations will go to my cat's vet bills.

Sorry it's a short update, I'm feeling pretty terrible.

Hey all.

Today has been a fucking doozy of a day.

I noticed on Monday that my cat, Argo (or Boocat), wasn't really eating normally. Since it was still really warm, I thought it was just that, since he doesn't really eat a ton when it's warmer out, but today I realized he was barely eating, which is strange for him. He's very food motivated, so if there's food in his bowl it's usually just gone. But he was dropping food and only chewing on one side of his mouth.

So I ran him to the vet.

He had blood tests and an exam, and while the blood tests showed there's currently no sign of infection, they didn't really tell us what is wrong. The vet noticed inflamed gums and a "harsh" sound in his lungs, and thinks there's a possibility he has pneumonia. Other than that, there's not much to be done right now since the tests all were normal. I've got meds and painkillers for him to take over the next week, and I switched him to soft food instead of kibble.

He's taken the painkillers okay (it's a liquid I gotta squirt into his mouth twice a day, which he did not enjoy), and he's acting normal. If he doesn't get better or gets worse, he's going back in for xrays and a cleaning.

Hostage Hotel commissions paid for the visit, thankfully, but I'm still very worried about him. He's my baby, my sweetieboo, and I'm really upset that something might be really wrong and I'm just not seeing it.

I'm not posting this to beg for commissions or donations, I've got a convention in a week that I have enough prep to do (Anime Fusion, with Dapper Raptor Studios as usual <3). I won't say no to donations, I'll just feel bad about it (I always do, I feel bad not giving something in return). There's 2 rooms for Hostage Hotel before the finale. There's no pressure, that's the last thing I want.

I just wanted to let everyone know I'm on rocky ground emotionally at the moment, and if there is a delay in commissions (aside from the convention time) then I am truly sorry.

One of my friends [[at]AARKADYEVNA on twitter] is going through a bad patch. And I mean "needs to get out of the home permanently" sort of bad patch. I unfortunately can't just fly to Australia and beat their father's ass help them move, so today's stream dollars and whatever donations you give are going to them.
